Chapter- I totally agree even if its crazy

We were at a battle strategy meeting. I was trying to pay attention as Gandalf was talking to Aragorn, Legolas, Pine, Gimli, Eomer and I in the Great Hall of Minas Tirith," Frodo has passed beyond my sight," Gandalf strutted across the hall," The darkness is deepening. "

" If Sauron had the Ring we would know it," Aragorn commented.

It's only a matter of time," Pine mumbled glancing at me. I looked away. They wanted me to be their queen. Which is what I must be and do.

"He has suffered a defeat," Gabdalf agreed with him," yes, but behind the walls of Mordor our enemy is regrouping."

"Let him stay there," Gimli roared," Let him rot! Why should we care?"

" Because 10,000 Orcs now stand between Frodo and Mount Doom," I said sadly gazing at my shield,"The little guy has no chance."

" I've sent him to his death," Gandalf said sorrowfully.

" No," Aragorn said forcefully to his old friend," There is still hope for Frodo. He needs time and safe passage across the plains of Gorgoroth. We can give him that."

" How," Gimli asked the question on everyone else's mind.

" Draw out Sauron's armies," Aragorn said on a roll," Empty his lands. Then we gather our full strength and march on the Black Gate. "

Gimli choked on his pipe. I looked at Aragorn in shock. How where we supposed to do THAT!

" We cannot achieve victory through strength of arms," Éomer said the main flaw in his plan.

" Not for ourselves," Aragorn agreed with him," But we can give Frodo his chance if we keep Sauron's eye fixed upon us. Keep him blind to all else that moves."

" A diversion," Legolas said simply, watering down everything Aragorn had just said. I hid my smile.

I stood,"I may be the new queen of the Ancient Ones and this plan may be crazy- But sometimes crazy is what gets the job done- I'm in."

" Certainty of death," Gimli said in a sort of joking mood," small chance of success, what are we waiting for?"

Pine chuckled,"The people of the Ancient Ones will gladly back up our queen. And her allies."

Gandalf, of course, was cautious," Sauron will suspect a trap. He will not take the bait."

" Oh, I think he will," Aragorn smiled... What did he have up his sleeve?

Aragorn turned to me as we walked out if the meeting,"Dusky. May I see your shield for a moment?"

I handed it to him,"Sure. Just give it back before the battle."

Aragorn was alone when he walked towards the Palantir and uncovered it. He closed his eyes, picked it up in one hand and held it up in front of his face. He focuses for a moment before he opened his eyes and looked into it, facing the Eye of Sauron which was speaking in Black speech.

"Long have you hunted me," Aragorn spoke in a calm yet angry tone,"Long have I eluded you. No more," Aragorn put the Anduril up in front of the Palantir,"Behold, the Sword of Elendil," he placed the sword to the ground and showed the silver battle-worn shield with a purple dragon," And the children of magic and dragons walk amount us!"

Sauron appeared in the pupil of the Eye. He showed Aragorn Arwen who is dying. Aragorn, horrified, steped back from the Palantir. The Evenstar fell from his neck and shattered on the ground.

Aragorn handed me the shield back about thirty minutes later,"There you go Dusky.

I smiled up at him, my smile changed to a frown as he turned away he seemed paler and worried,"Thanks."
