Chapter 20
Shadow grabbed the remote and turned the TV off before he glanced at the clock on the wall. It read: 7:42pm. Where is Amy? Isn't she supposed to be here by now? A worried frown got placed on his mouth, his eyes narrowing a little. "What if something has happened and I know nothing about it?" He asked no one in particular, standing up from the sofa. "Time to visit faker!" The ebony hedgehog rushed out of the house in a black and red blur.

"Tails bud; can you pass me the remote?" Sonic asked the little golden fox, munching some crisps. Tails nodded his head, handing him the remote. The blue male flipped through the channels, while his little brother made himself busy by fixing a clock that had stopped working. The door burst open, nearly coming off of its hinges, making Sonic and Tails jump and snap their heads that way. Shadow walked towards them, glaring fiercely.
I locked the door, how did he...? Tails trailed off, seeing that the lock had come off the door with the force of Shadow's kick. Wow! He snapped out of his thoughts when he saw Sonic stand up and grin at the ebony hedgehog.
"Well Shadow, what brings you here? You could have knocked on the door you know, didn't need to break it." He said, pointing to the door that really needed mending.
Shadow just glared at him, and then trailed his eyes around the room, hoping to find Amy here. On the way, he had thought that she had probably stayed here and had forgotten to let him know, but he was honestly worried when he saw that she was nowhere to be seen. "Shut up, faker! I'm not in the mood! Where is Amy?"
"Amy? Isn't she at home?" The blue blur asked with panic shown clearly in his eyes. The black and red male rolled his scarlet orbs, glaring at him.
"You really are stupid; I wouldn't be here if she was at home. Now tell me, where is she? Rose was with you, you should know where she is." Shadow walked closer to them, making Tails gulp and step backward. Why did Shadow care so much? It wasn't like him.
"I told her that I would take her home, but she refused, saying that she wanted to go by herself." Sonic said, his expression showing nothing but worry.
"When did she make her way home? When did your 'date' finish?" Shadow questioned, glaring at him.
"I think it was 6:00pm. We need to find her now! Who knows what has happened to her!" Sonic replied, and as he was about to run off, Shadow grabbed him by the shoulder, and punched him in the face. Hard enough to leave a bruise. "Ow! What the hell was that for?!"
Shadow held him by his neck with one hand, moving his face close to the blue male's. "If anything has happened to Rose... Believe me, I will kill you." He said calmly, but the threaten could be heard in his voice. Sonic glared at him back, and pushed his hand away.
"I care more about her! You're just a heartless robot who is probably just using her!" He yelled angrily, watching the black and red hedgehog just smirk at him.
"Amy doesn't seem to think so." He said, watching the blue hedgehog frown. "In fact, she thinks the complete opposite of what you said. Don't think that you made me mad because I don't care. Rose has given me a piece of her heart and that is all I want. To be in her life." Shadow smirked again, turned around and sped off. Tails' eyes were narrowed all the while Shadow said that.
"He's just trying to wind you up, Sonic. Don't let him get to you." The little yellow fox walked up to his brother, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "We need to find Amy now."
Sonic nodded his head. "You're right. Let's go!" He raced off, Tails right after him. The golden-coloured fox frowned a little. Shadow and Amy had gotten a lot close, too close for his liking.

Amy groaned as her eyes fluttered open. Where am I? She thought, sitting up. Oh, right. The pink hedgehog then remembered what had happened a few hours ago. "How the hell am I going to get out? Is Sonic and Shadow looking for me?" She whispered to herself quietly. Standing up, she walked over to the end of the cage she was trapped in and held on to the bars, staring at the darkness.
"Hello, Amy Rose. Long-time, no see." A familiar voice said, causing the rosy female to glance that way. Dr. Eggman came out of the shadows. Amy rolled her eyes.
"What do you want? You do know that Sonic is coming for me, don't you?" She said, grinning widely. She knew that Shadow would come for her as well, her heart told her so, but she decided that she wouldn't tell the crazy doctor about him.
Eggman laughed. "I know that. Besides, that's the whole point of kidnapping you." He said, Amy's eyes narrowing in suspicion. What was he up to now?
"What's your plan now, Eggman? Just know that you won't and never will succeed!" The pink hedgehog exclaimed, grinning a little.
"We'll see about that!" Eggman laughed his Santa laugh and then called out, "Metal Sonic! Come and babysit our guest, I don't want her magically escaping away!" With that said, the crazy man disappeared, Metal Sonic standing in his place. Amy glared fiercely at him. How dare he kidnap her?!
"Just wait until Sonic gets here! He will teach you a lesson that you clearly need to learn!" She spat, and although the robot didn't have a mouth, she felt him smirk.
"I can hardly wait!" Metal Sonic said in reply, laughing with his robotic voice. Amy just glared at him again and hoped that Sonic and Shadow would reach here safely. Who knew what the doctor had in store for them!

"Tails! What do you think has happened to Amy?" Sonic asked as both of them ran, looking for the missing pink hedgehog.
"I think it's a little obvious. I'm sure Eggman has something to do with Amy's disappearance." The little fox said, seeing Sonic nod his head.
"Yeah... I wonder what his new plan is. Come on, Tails! I know where his base is!" The blue hero said, increasing his speed, the golden fox not really being able to catch up.
"Sonic! Wait for me!" Tails yelled, following him.
Meanwhile with Shadow, he was trying to find some clues to Amy's whereabouts. Eggman entered his thoughts, making him stop in his tracks. "I have a feeling that Amy has been captured by the Doctor. There is no one else who would kidnap her. Hmmm, looks like the Doctor is up to something new. I need to find Rose. Good thing I know where his base is." He said, speeding off.

Seeing that Metal Sonic had drifted off to sleep, which was quite a surprise, Amy slowly stood up on her feet. She walked over to the bars, her hammer appearing in her hand. It had been such a long time since she had last used it. Taking in a deep breath, she held the hammer above her head and brought it down with force, hoping to destroy the cage. Moving the hammer, she frowned when she saw that she hadn't even created a small dent, so how was she going to destroy it? Stupid Egghead, must have made the cage stronger this time! She let out a loud huff, seeing the robot stir in his sleep. The pink hedgehog rolled her eyes when it snored a little, and hit the cage again and again.
"Will you stop that? Or do you want me to make you stop?!" snapped, Amy rolling her eyes and leaning against her hammer, trying to catch her breath. Out of nowhere, Eggman appeared, grinning at Amy.
"When will your precious hedgehog come? I'm getting a little bored here!" He chuckled, watching the pink hedgehog glare at him.
As she opened her mouth to say something, red lights flashed around the room as a voice said, "Intruder alert! Intruder alert!" Eggman stopped laughing, and pointed a finger to Metal Sonic with a scowl on his face.
"Go and make sure that the pesky hedgehog doesn't get in!" He then turned to Amy; glanced at her to make sure she was still trapped, and then ran off clumsily. The doors burst open a minute later, a blue blur rushing in. "Sonic!" Amy said with a gasp of relief, seeing her cobalt hero grin at her. Tails also walked in, smiling at the pink hedgehog, glad that she was safe. "Sonic! Watch out!" Amy yelled, seeing Metal Sonic charge at her Sonic.
Sonic dodged the robot, winking at the rosy female. "It's alright, Ames. I've got him!" He ran towards , kicking him in the leg, causing the robot to stagger backwards, but hurting his foot as well.
"Sonikku! Are you ok?" Amy asked with concern in her voice, her eyebrows furrowed.
"I'm fine, Amy! Don't worry, I'm gonna get ya out of-Oww!" The azure male shouted, holding onto his cheek. Metal Sonic grinned and moved to attack him again, when a yellow blur pushed him back. Tails flew over back to Sonic, asking him if he was ok. Amy bit her lip as she watched them fight with the nuisance that was , Eggman sending other robots in as well.
"Please come, Shadow. You have to, for me..." She whispered, trailing off at the end.

Shadow stood outside the base, wondering how the doors were open. Could it be a trap? He didn't care, he had to rescue Amy! He rushed inside in a black and red blur, stopping when he saw pieces of metal lying on the floor. Faker must have reached her before me! He thought, glaring and increasing his speed.
A few seconds later, Shadow stood outside a room with huge double doors. He was about to pass it, when he heard sounds that seemed like fighting and loud voices, the voices very familiar. I wonder... The ebony male trailed off in his thoughts, pushing the doors open.

Amy watched on as Sonic and Tails fought Metal Sonic and the other robots, when she suddenly got aware of someone entering the room. Her eyes widened and her heart raced in her chest as she looked at the black and red-streaked hedgehog with her mouth dropping open a little. He had come!
"Shadow!" She yelled happily, all eyes turning to the ebony hedgehog. Sonic glared, while Tails just frowned a little. Eggman's voice suddenly filled the room.
"Welcome, Shadow! I am honestly surprised to see you here! I see you have come to join us as well!" He said, causing Shadow to just cross his arms across his chest and say absolutely nothing. "Have fun guests!" He added with a laugh before the speakers turned off. Robots ran into the room, about 10-15. All of them gigantic in size. Sonic once again glared at Shadow, the black and red hedgehog returning it, before all three of them started fighting. Amy watched them, warning them each time a robot would attempt to attack them from behind, just wishing that she could help them.
"Rose, are you alright?" Shadow asked her, looking at her with his crimson orbs. There was some emotion in his gaze that she couldn't recognise, and she found herself staring at his eyes, taking in the beauty of them. She snapped out of her trance and blushed a little as she realized that he had just asked her something.
"I-I'm f-f-fine." Amy stuttered, watching him smirk at her before he went back to fighting. When the robots were finished, and Metal Sonic was down on the floor, Shadow went and stood on one side of her cage, while Sonic and Tails went and stood on her other side.
"Why are you hiding from us, you coward?" Shadow yelled in his deep and intimidating voice.
"Come and face us, Egghead! Or are you too scared that we're gonna kick your ass!?" Sonic shouted after the ebony hedgehog, Amy grinning brightly. Without warning, two cages fell down from above over Shadow and Sonic and Tails. Their cage was different compared to Amy's. It was way too thick and it was made from something that the pink hedgehog didn't recognise. One word described it: Indestructible.
"Hohoho! Let me see how strong you are!" Eggman's voice came again, causing Sonic and Shadow to glare and try to get out. They both curled themselves up, hitting the cage, but... They couldn't get out. They tried it out several times, but still, they just couldn't get out. Tails did nothing, just watched Sonic with a frown on his face.
"Sonic, there's no point, it's too strong!" The yellow fox admitted, sitting down in a corner of the cage. The blue hedgehog shook his head.
"No Tails! I'm not giving up!" He yelled, curled himself up and then charged at the cage, hoping to go through it. Instead of tearing through the bars, he flew backwards, hitting the other side.
Shadow was also charging at the cage, curled up in a black and red ball. Seeing that it was useless, he glared and did nothing else. "Fight us face to face if you're man enough!" He shouted, his red eyes glowing.
"Or in your case, egg enough!" Amy giggled a little, finding it funny. Sonic stopped and chuckled, while Tails just smiled. Shadow on the other hand, smirked.
"Shut up!" Eggman hollered, all of them imagining his face as red as a beet. "Let me tell you all something." Amy, Shadow, Sonic and Tails listened curiously, all of them sitting down. "I was the one who put the bomb in that shop! I did that because I wanted this pesky blue hedgehog to save those people and die in the process!"
Amy gasped, her eyes widening. She looked at the ebony hedgehog, wanting to thank him for what he did, since Sonic wouldn't do it, but she said nothing. Tails also gasped, turning to look at Shadow. He knew that Shadow has saved those people, Sonic had told him. If he hadn't saved them, and Sonic did, then...
Sonic glanced at Shadow with an almost guilty look on his face. Shadow had risked his life, and all he had done was be suspicious of him. The ebony hedgehog said nothing, just stared ahead with an emotionless face.
"But then Shadow had to come and ruin my plan! I'm fed up of you Sonic; you always stand in the way of my plans. As if you weren't enough that Shadow had to come as well! Eggman said, sounding as he was going to start to cry. His voice then turned harsh. "Sonic and Shadow, both of you are going to have to let me kill you!"
"Phfft! Now, why would we do that?!" Sonic asked with his eyebrows raised, Shadow looking confused as well.
"Well then, I'm going to have to kill your precious Amy Rose instead!" He chuckled madly, the said hedgehog's eyes widening. Sonic's, Shadow's and Tails' eyes also widened. They obviously though that Eggman was joking. They waited for him to tell them that he was just kidding, but he never said that. Eggman suddenly appeared again, standing in the middle of the room, when Metal Sonic finally stood up on his feet. "Bring her to me." He said simply, the robot nodding his head as he made his way over to where Amy was trapped. Shadow stood up and banged his fists against the cage, glaring angrily.
"You won't hurt a single hair on her head, Doctor! If you do, trust me, I'm going to make your life a living hell!" He threatened, seeing the pink hedgehog look at him, shocked. She just couldn't believe what she was hearing. Did Shadow care about her that much?
"You won't hurt Amy, Eggbutt. I'm gonna kill you if you do!" Sonic yelled, grabbing the bars and glaring at . The crazy man simply laughed and pressed a button on some kind of remote he was holding and the door to the pink hedgehog's cage opened.
Metal Sonic stood in front of the door and said, "Come out, or I'm going to make you!" Amy only shook her head, walking backwards.
"Let her go!" Shadow yelled, glaring fiercely. Sonic shouted that at the same time as him.
"If you both care that much about her, why don't you surrender?" Eggman asked, grinning. Amy looked behind her, to make sure that there was some room left, when she noticed her purse lying down on the floor. How had she not noticed that?
"We surrender." Shadow and Sonic both said at the same time, glancing at each other. Tails looked on with a worried frown, wondering how they would get out of this.
"Excellent! Metal Sonic! Leave her and check these pesky hedgehogs for any weapon or chaos emeralds." ordered, the robot nodding his head. The doors to Sonic's and Shadow's cages opened and they walked out, two huge robots coming into the room and standing behind them. Making sure that they wouldn't try anything. inspected them, and then moved back, shaking his head at the doctor.
"They have nothing on them." He said in his metallic voice, walking over to Tails. "Don't try anything out, or you'll regret it!" Metal Sonic stood next to the little yellow fox, causing him to gulp and freeze.
"Shadow! Sonic! Don't do this!" Amy yelled, grateful that Eggman hadn't closed her door. Sonic looked over at her with a smile.
"It's ok, Ames. Before I die, I want to tell you that I'm sorry for not confessing sooner and know this: I will always love you." The blue hedgehog smiled again, seeing Amy return it.
Shadow glanced at her with an emotionless face. "It was nice knowing you Rose. You really are special; you're a lot like Maria. She was exactly like you. Kind, gentle and friendly." The pink hedgehog looked at him with a sad face, but offered a small smile. To her surprise, he returned it with a bigger one.
"None of you are going to die!" She said, trying to reassure them. When she saw that Sonic was looking at the floor, and Eggman was obviously getting his weapon ready, Amy tried to get Shadow's attention. When he did look at her, she pointed to her purse, and saw understanding flash across his face. He smirked, Amy knowing that he was coming up with a plan.
"Wait!" Sonic looked up quickly, stopping everyone in their tracks. "Shadow is an Ultimate Lifeform. He can't die!"
"Oh but he can now! I've made this machine especially for him!" Eggman laughed, he seemed to be doing that a lot. As he made the machine ready, and seeing how Metal Sonic was busy with Tails, Amy opened her purse and threw the chaos emerald to Shadow. He caught it swiftly, hiding it. "Prepare yourself, Shadow!" moved the point of the machine towards the ebony male, his finger on the trigger. Amy watched with her eyes widening, what if something went wrong? Eggman stopped in his tracks when Shadow disappeared into thin air. "What the-" He paused, confusion on his face.
Sonic and Tails also looked around, wondering where Shadow disappeared off to. Amy only smiled. "Looking for me?" The black and red hedgehog questioned, all eyes turning to him. Eggman cursed as he saw Shadow at the end of the room.
"Metal Sonic! I told you to search them!" The crazy doctor yelled, the said robot looking up.
"I did. I don't know where he got that." He said, and with a nod from his 'boss', charged at the ebony hedgehog.
"Chaos control!" Shadow said, disappearing, making the robot crash against a wall. Seeing that Eggman was distracted by the ebony hedgehog, Sonic took down one of the robots standing behind him. He felt the other one grab him, making him struggle in its grip. "Chaos spear!" The black and red-stripped hedgehog shouted, a yellow spear hitting the robot, making it fall down, and change into tiny metal pieces.
"Thanks." Sonic said with a small smile, watching the ebony male nod his head and walk away.
"What is happening?! Everything was going so perfectly!" Eggman hollered, aiming at Shadow and Sonic as he fired, missing both of them. Tails ran over to Amy, asking her if she was ok. Both of them stood in the corner, watching the fight. Robots filled in the room, and Tails and Amy had no choice but to fight.
"Faker! You stop Metal Sonic and the other robots with Rose and that annoying little fox, while I take care of the Doctor." Shadow yelled to Sonic, and as much as the blue hedgehog didn't want to listen to him, he nodded his head and ran over to Amy and Tails.
"Haha! I've got you now!" Eggman chuckled, aiming the gun-like machine at Sonic, who was completely unaware. His chuckling stopped when he felt himself get pulled back, coming face to face with none other than Shadow.
"Tails! Get away! They are gonna hurt you!" Amy warned, bringing her hammer down on a robot's foot. The little fox only shook his head, throwing random stuff at their enemies. Sonic was busy fighting with Metal Sonic, trying to break his arms and legs which was quite impossible as he was a robot that was made out of metal. When they finished, and all of the robots were down on the ground, they turned their attention to Shadow. Amy gasped, seeing him hold Eggman by the neck of his top and glaring at him fiercely.
"You will pay for everything you have done, Doctor." He said, surprisingly calmly, but that made him scarier.
"It was only a joke, Shadow! Honestly, it was just for a bit of fun!" Eggman answered nervously, the ebony hedgehog pushing him against the machine. He glared deadly at him, his red eyes burning with anger.
"It didn't seem like a joke to me." He said, seeing sweat fall down from the doctor's forehead, while he gulped.
"Oh no! He's gonna kill him!" Amy gasped, and as much as she hated Eggman, she didn't really think that he deserved to die. Well, he did try to kill them; bit Shadow could just throw him in jail, couldn't he?
"Let him! Eggman has troubled us a lot; I really didn't think that he would go as far as killing us!" Sonic said, grinning as he watched Shadow. Tails nodded his head, agreeing with the blue hedgehog.
"S-Shadow, p-please l-let me go!" Eggman stuttered, watching the murderous glare that was now showing on Shadow's features. He looked back, setting his hand on a red button. He pressed it and soon robots were once again filling up the whole room. The ebony hedgehog let him go, his attention now on the robots.
As Eggman ran away to the doors, he was startled when Sonic stood in his way. "Going somewhere, Egghead?" Amy could only watch Shadow, seeing the robots surround him. There was about 10 of them. She was about to run over to him, when he looked at her, he shook his head. She froze, watching him with a worried frown. Sonic was stopping Eggman, Tails couldn't help and he wouldn't let her help him. Suddenly, a red aura surrounded Shadow, his eyes glowing bright red. Amy had never seen him like this before.
"Shadow..." She whispered, seeing the robots gather around him, wishing that she could help him. A gasp left her mouth when there was a sound that sounded kind of like an explosion, and she snapped her head in Shadow's direction. The robots had all flew backwards, and Shadow was standing there, the red aura still around him. He then raced over to where Eggman and Sonic were caught up in a struggle, pulling the doctor away and holding him by the neck.
"You really passed your limit, Doctor. And you will pay for it no matter what anyone says!" Shadow growled, all of a sudden looking really frightening.
"No! You can't do this, Shadow. I'm sorry, just give me another chance!" Eggman begged, Sonic, Tails and Amy watching on curiously.
Shadow gave him dead glares, squeezing his neck, Eggman trying to pry his hands off. "You were thinking about killing Rose." He said, Amy biting her lip. "And I cannot forgive you for that." Sonic and Tails looked at each other with frowns on their faces, while the pink hedgehog simply watched on with wide eyes. He tightened his grip, causing the doctor's face to turn red as he tried to breath.
"Shadow! You are going to kill him! Let him go!" Amy yelled, running over to him. She couldn't control herself anymore. Shadow didn't pay any attention to her, only tightening his hold more, making it hard for Eggman to breathe.
"If you ever kidnap or hurt Rose, or if you get yourself involved with us ever again... I will kill you with my bare hands. Is that clear?" Shadow asked, letting him go. panted as he tried to get his breath back. He nodded his head quickly, knowing that the ebony hedgehog was dead serious. "Good." The doctor rushed off, not wanting Shadow to change his mind. Sonic and Tails watched from a distance as the red aura slowly faded from around him and then completely disappeared. The glowing of his eyes also disappeared, the pink hedgehog moving to stand before him.
"Shadow, are you ok?" Amy asked, and gasped as he stumbled forward, moving to catch him.
"I'm fine. I have lost a lot of energy, that's why I am unable to control myself." Shadow said, smiling at her gently. Amy returned the smile, throwing one of his hands over her shoulder as she wrapped her arms around his waist to steady him. She blushed a little, guiding him to Sonic and Tails. The blue male walked over to them, a frown on his face.
"Ames, he can walk himself." He said, a hint of jealousy in his voice. The rosy female shook her head.
"Sonic, I think you owe Shadow a thanks." She gave him a stern look, Sonic rolling his eyes.
"Whatever. Thank, er... Um, you." He said, the ebony hedgehog rolling his eyes.
"What for Faker?" Shadow asked, Sonic scowling. He knew that Shadow knew very well why he was thanking him, but if he was going to act like that, then so was he. Tails sat in a corner, watching them with slight amusement in his blue eyes.
"Why did I thank him, Ames?" Sonic questioned, seeing the pink hedgehog roll her eyes.
"Sonic, in a way Shadow saved your life!" She said, and when she saw the blue male just stare at her, added, "You see how Shadow heard Eggman talking about the bomb, Egghead obviously mentioned you as well, meaning that he saved your life by saving them. You could have died if Shadow hadn't done that!"
Sonic sighed and nodded his head. "Yeah, I guess. Thanks buddy."
"Don't thank me. The only reason I did that was because I knew Rose would be upset if she found out that you were dead." Shadow said, causing the azure hedgehog to glare at him and roll his eyes. Amy on the other hand stared at Shadow, he truly cared about her that much?
"Guys, can we go home now? I'm very sleepy." Tails stood up on his feet, yawning. Sonic nodded his head and turned to Amy.
"Let me take you home, Ames." He said, and frowned when he saw her shake her head.
"Thank you Sonic. But there's no need. Me and Shadow will go together. You guys can go." The pink hedgehog said, smiling at her boyfriend. He walked over to her and kissed her on the cheek, making her blush softly. Sonic chuckled at seeing that, none of them aware of Shadow frowning a little.
"Take care of yourself. Bye Ames!" The blue blur yelled, and with a wink at Amy, rushed out of the base, Tails right behind him. Amy turned to Shadow and smiled. She was still holding him, and when she realized that, her blush turned darker. Shadow took out his green chaos emerald.
"Are you ready?" He asked, and when he saw her nod her head, he wrapped one of his arms around her waist. The redness of her face had just faded a little, and when she felt his arm around her waist, she blushed hotly. "Chaos control!" A few seconds later, they were standing in her living room.
"I never got the chance to thank you for saving me, so... Thank you." Amy smiled at her black and red-streaked hero. Shadow returned it with a smirk.
"No problem. Doctor Eggman won't be bothering us ever again." He said, seeing the pink hedgehog nod her head.
"It's late. Let's go to sleep." She said, watching him as he glanced at the clock which read 10:00pm, then nod his head. Both of them walked up the stairs, Shadow slowing down so she could climb up at the same step as him. When they stood outside her room, Amy turned around to face him with a big smile on her face. "Goodnight Shadow!"
"Sleep well, Rose." The ebony hedgehog looked at her with his crimson orbs. Mustering up her courage, Amy leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. She felt him freeze, but she let her lips touch his cheek for a few seconds, before she moved away. Smiling at him once again, she turned the knob of her door and walked in her room, closing the door after her.
Shadow stood there, shock on his face. His hand moved up, his fingers touching the same spot Amy's lips had been on one second ago. It tingled a little. He frowned, staring at her door, and then walked to his room. He entered the room, striding over to his bed, pulling the cover away. Shadow ran a frustrated hand through his quills, sighing heavily. "What is happening?" He asked no one in particular, jumping down on his bed. "It's better if I don't talk about it." He whispered to himself, pulling the covers over his head.

Amy stirred in her sleep, obviously dreaming about something. Suddenly, she shot up on her bed, breathing heavily. She had a dream... The same dream she had a few weeks ago. Her eyebrows furrowed and a small frown formed on her lips. "What could this mean? It's the second time I have dreamt about Shadow..."
*Flashback of dream*
"Shadow! Wait for me!" A tired pink hedgehog called out, running as fast as her legs could carry her after an ebony hedgehog. He simply increased his speed, hoping to lose her. "Shadow, where are you going?" Amy asked, coming to a stop as she tried to catch her breath, her hands on her knees. When her breathing had gone normal, she looked up, brushing her pink bangs aside. Shadow was standing before her, his arms crossed across his chest as he stared at her, his red eyes practically glowing in the dark.
"What do you want?" The ebony hedgehog asked her, seeing her smile brightly, making him frown.
"I saw you running away, and I wondered if everything was alright." Amy answered, walking over to him. "What's wrong, Shadow?" She reached out to touch his cheek only to have him move back. She looked at him, hurt shown on her face clearly.
"Can you just leave me the hell alone!?" Shadow said after a few seconds, seeing the female's eyes widen and her mouth drop open.
"Are you ok, Shadow?" Amy asked, shocked at why he would say that. What had she done wrong? She honestly couldn't think of anything. The black and red-striped hedgehog moved away from her, leaving a good amount of space between. That only made her frown more.
"I'm fine. I don't want anything to do with you. I'm moving out of your house. Forget that we are friends, because I am no longer your friend." Shadow whispered harshly, watching the hurt and confusion in her jade green eyes. "Goodbye Rose..." He said, his voice a little bit softer.
Amy felt tears forming in her eyes and tried very hard to hold them back, but they came trailing down anyway. Why? Why was Shadow being like this? "What have I done wrong Shadow? Tell me." Her voice cracked, the tears forming small pools in her eyes, before they fell down softly. Shadow said nothing, just turned around and started walking away. The pink hedgehog watched his retreating figure with shock, hurt and confusion, blinking her tears away.
*End of flashback*
The rosy female wondered why she dreamt of the same thing twice. Could it mean something? Would Shadow leave her? She frowned, deciding not to think negative of her dream. Sighing, Amy let herself fall backwards on the bed, staring at the blank ceiling. Although she didn't want to admit it, her dream had her worried. Was it even a dream or was it a nightmare? I'm so stupid. It's only a dream! I shouldn't think too much about it. She rolled her eyes and turned on her side, closing her eyes shut as she drifted off to sleep.
So, what do you guys think? I know that this chapter was quite boring, but please review for me! Pleeeease! *Puppy-dog eyes* Oh and by the way, there's at least another 4 chapters left of the story. I could always rush it, but I know that you guys won't like it very much, I know I wouldn't either. Amy found out her feelings in a rush, I don't want Shadow going up to her and being like, "Rose, I love you." All of you wouldn't like that either, am I right? Did you all like the super loooong but boring chapter btw? Anyway, please review for me, pleeeeeease!
