The Unknown Variable
I'm Back! XD
I own nothing, so, unless you want to feel an Immortal's wrath, you should leave. Now.
I slept for over fourteen hours, and even when I awoke, I knew that organizing my mind was my first priority.
Thankfully, because of my Immortal status, all I had to do to organize my mind was to review everything I knew, and my mind would organize itself. Much better than having to organize it yourself, it was an ability that I was very grateful for.
So, once assuring Dad that I was alright, and avoiding Pepper, I sat crossed legged on my bedroom floor and drove into my mind…starting with the earliest thing I could remember.
The information about Immortals.
(History Lesson -.0)
Before anything else, before of anything known, there was one person. Father, as the Immortals call him, was the source of everything, he knew everything, and he basically was everything.
No one is sure how the Dimensions and Worlds came into being, some say that Father created them out of boredom, other say that they were always there and Father just sparked the life.
Father himself, only created one Immortal, Mother. No one had ever seen Mother, for she stayed deep within Father's Realm, and some say that she has never met any of her children.
Mother, working with Father, created life in all Dimensions. Father gave Mother the energy, and she molded it, and created the life.
Everything has a soul, every rock, tree, animal, and star in Existence, but Human's and other Life along the same line, have much more complex souls.
Mother is the one who crafts the souls, who brings the souls into being.
Together, they created Existence, but, as life started to thrive and walk different Paths, they decided that there needed to be Guardians who would Watch over a Part of life that suited them.
Soon, Mother was selecting very special Souls that she found worthy, and once their mortal lives ended, their Immortal ones began.
Infinitas was one of the First Immortals; she was one of the Eldest.
Infinitas could see every Path, every Choice, and every Possibility that was out there. She could see how Mortal's grew, changed, and learned. But she also saw how they would fall from their Paths, and how their Souls faded after 'death'.
Mother, being extremely over worked from creating new Souls after each one faded, created two new ones, who would later be named Mortem and Vitam; twin Souls, a rarity, that would work with the souls for her.
Vitam had two jobs, she would take the unborn Souls and bring them into the world, but she would also Cleanse the Souls after her bother, Mortem, brought them to her. When her brother brought her a Soul, Vitam used her powers to erase the memories of the past life, and select which personality traits were worthy of being carried over into the next life, then, she waited for is new body.
Mortem also had two jobs. His first jobs were to Collect the Souls of Mortals when it was their time and give them to his sister to be Cleansed and Placed. His second job was a bit more…Death like, you could say. For the malicious Souls, the Souls that had strayed extremely from their Path, or done things that took a…special…type of Cleansing. Mortem would monitor these Souls in Supplicium, or as Human's sometimes call it, The Fields of Punishment, or more simply, Hell.
Then, once the Malicious Souls had served its time in Supplicium, he would pass it onto his sister for an in-depth Cleasing where everything would be erased and it would start its Cycle anew.
There were a few specific things that made an Immortal an Immortal. An Immortal needed to have a Pure Soul, one that Mother had made intending for that Soul to become one of them. That person also must have a Realm, a part of Existence to Govern and Watch. All Immortals were able to take Mortal form if they wished, but they also had an Immortal Form, which rarely changed, and if it did, it signified something significant. All Immortals had complete control over their Realm, and they also had Adiutores, who were assistants that aided the Immortal in keeping their Realm in order.
These Adiutores were often where the myths of Grim Reapers, Hell Hounds, Fairies, Nymps, and Sprites come from, along with many other Mythical creatures.
Not all Immortals had a Bonded, but if they did, then it was against Father's Word to try and separate the two, and Father's Word was Law.
All Immortals were responsible for keeping everything within their Realm in order, and also, they were responsible for any mishap within their Realm.
An Immortal's Soul was tied to their Realm, they were stronger if everything was the way it was supposed to be, and they grew weaker if their Realm Faded. Their Souls also drew them to their Duties, the acts they needed to do to make sure that everything stayed in order.
Time doesn't really exist for Immortals, for they can travel to any place, any time, in any Dimension, no matter how far apart the Dimensions were.
The Immortals had their own Dimension, this they called Cor, and it was the heart of all Existence. Every Immortal had their own home in Cor, and many spent their (limited) free time there, but some other Immortals chose to spend their time in various Mortal Realms.
The three Youngest Immortals, wave caused quite a stir amongst the Immortals.
Chaos, or Insania, some say, hadn't come from Mother, that she had been created purely from the Chaos in the Existence, and therefore, didn't have a Soul.
She was an Outcast among the Immortals, and many despised her, though she had never done anything wrong.
Fati had been created so that Mortals could be kept on their Paths more, and that their Fates could be watched, so that they had a guide.
But many claimed that Mother had grown…senile…in her time and that was why Fati had her personality.
Fati was demanding, selfish, narcissistic, controlling, and believed that because Fate was her Realm, everyone should listen to her.
There wasn't another Immortal like her. Sure, quite a few had become egotistical over the numerous Millennia but Fati had taken it to…the extreme.
Immortals' emotions were different from Mortals. They were a bit more emotion steady…in their eyes. It took them a while to get angry, or to fall in love, but when they did…nothing could stand in their way.
When Mother and Father had seen that Fati's Existence wasn't helping things, and that between the two youngest, Chaos and Fati, things were getting more and more out of hand.
So, Aequivalere was created.
Too bad she couldn't remember a thing about herself.
After Aequivalere became an Immortal, after her First Life, Chaos had disappeared, and a few Mortal Lifetimes of Aequivalere later, she and Mortem Bonded, and it was there that things really got out of hand for the youngest Immortal.
For some reason, she never was able to get an Immortal Form, she would shift from Mortal Form to Mortal Form, her Realm ruling her, not the other way around.
Aequivalere had met Mortem and Infinitas before she had ever met Fati, but because all new Immortals were supposed to learn things on their own…they had been unable to help her as Fati spun a web of lies around her younger sibling.
Fati seemed to hate the Immortal, and used every ounce of her power to make sure she had the hardest time ever…and to make her believe that she served her older sibling. In doing this, it kept the new Immortal from her true power, which kept her from Awakening fully, and embracing her true power, which was far stronger than Fati's. She just didn't know that.
What Aequivalere didn't know what that Father had finally had enough of his Youngest children's behavior, and while he couldn't directly intervene, he had created a few Loop Holes, so that her siblings could help her.
He also called Chaos back.
But no one knew that.
She had very few memories of her past lives, though she now realized what the strange dreams were. They were flashes of her past lives and memories trying to break out of her subconscious.
She remembered the Deathly Hallows from her First Life, and she remembered meeting Hel, Mortem's Adiutorie. In that life, Aequivalere had been extremely passionate about her violin, and as Hel also loved the Midguardian instrument, and played it often, she challenged her Magister's (master's) Bonded to a contest.
Surprising, the young Immortal won the challenge, but Hel wasn't upset, she had gifted the young Soul a Golden Violin that she had crafted herself, and the two had remained friends from then on.
Hel was the Adiutore who was in charge of this Dimension's Supplicium, and she only answered to one person, Mortem. Not even the other Immortals could command her (though she tended to do things for Aequivalere if she asked nicely), let alone her fellow Asgardians.
Hel also took over Mortem's responsibilities in this Dimension when Mortem had more important business elsewhere.
There was one rule that Immortals were supposed to follow (okay, there was a lot but this one is worth mentioning) Mortals are not supposed to know about them.
They can know, if necessary, that you are Life, Death, etc. but they were not, under any circumstances, know about the Immortal Realm…unless Father gave you permission; and he had never done that before.
There was also one other Law that was most important. Under no circumstances, is one Immortal allowed to Interfere with another's Realm.
That was the highest Law…below the one that stated that no Immortal was permitted to try and End another Immortal.
But no one would ever think of doing that.
So why would that be a problem?
It wasn't if Fati was out to End Aequivalere…right? So why was there a need to worry?
Because, someone was truly out to destroy Balance, and everything she stood for.
Balance was wanted gone, dead, Ended.
But, of course, Aequivalere didn't know that.
And she wouldn't until it was too late.
A bit boring… I know. But this might explain things a bit more; well I at least hope it does.
And for those of you who have forgotten, Aequivalere is Balance, that is her Realm and who she is.
Oh, and Insania might be showing up sometime soon…
*evil grin*
Not much left in this part of the story…
Then the fun really begins.
*Large evil grin that causes people to back away slowly with wide eyes*
