AN: I have started the sequel to this named Even when Expected, check it out if you haven't already!
When Fitz got back to the room Olivia was already asleep in the bed and he wondered how long he had actually been gone. He was a little upset that she didn't wait for him but he was grateful at the same time that she didn't so he had more time to think about what he was going to do about Adnan. He stripped down to his boxers, climbed into bed and she immediately moved to him. She snuggled into his chest and he wrapped his arms around her body. He kissed her forehead and slid his hands to rest on her bottom. Even in sleep she was the most beautiful person her had ever laid eyes on. He thanked God for her then drifted off to sleep.
He wasn't sure what woke him but he couldn't shake the bad feeling he had about Adnan and how she could possibly cause problems this weekend. He found his mind drifting to what Olivia had said the night before about trusting Harrison and that's when it clicked in his mind. He slowly climbed out of bed without waking Olivia. He pulled on his sweats and a t-shirt just in case he ran into anyone on his way to get answers; he couldn't have a repeat of earlier. He made his way through the low light in the house and knocked on the door hoping that it would wake them up without him having to go in. He heard the door open and as soon as he stuck his head out to see who it was Fitz grabbed him by his shirt and slammed him against the wall.
"Tell me you didn't know, tell me that you didn't bring that bitch on this trip to come in-between me and Olivia."
"What? Fitz, man what are you talking about? It's two in the morning."
"Harrison don't bullshit me. That bitch Adnan was in the kitchen trying to fuck me last night and you have one chance to tell me the truth. Did you know?" Fitz asked again angrily still holding Harrison up against the wall.
"I swear bro, I didn't know anything about that. She said she remembered you from when she used to go to our school freshman year but I swear Fitz I had no idea." Harrison pleaded.
Fitz let Harrison go and took a step back. "I'm sorry man but I had to make sure. I want her gone before everyone wakes up. Get her up now and drive her back..make up any excuse but get her the hell out of this house. You are welcome to come back but I don't want her here."
"I got it Fitz, don't worry I'll get her out of here and I will be back before you know it." Harrison gave Fitz a pound and went back into his room.
Fitz let out a sigh of relief and made his way back to his room. He was surprised when he didn't see Olivia in the bed where he had originally left her but just as he pulled the door closed he heard the bathroom door open. He couldn't help but smile at her messy bed hair and the way she was still half asleep.
"Babe, where were you? I missed you." She mumbled sleepily into his chest as she wrapped her arms around his waist.
He kissed the top of her head and placed his hands low on her back. "Happy Birthday, Livvie." He said quietly as he walked her backwards towards the side of the bed. When her legs hit the back of it he picked her up and gently laid her on her back. "You're so beautiful." He whispered against her neck as he moved between her legs.
She was sleepy, she didn't want to be up, if she didn't go back to sleep she would be cranky in the morning but the way he kissed her neck was waking up every bone in her body. She whined we he stood up, missing the warmth of his body on hers. She rolled over on her side ready to go back to sleep.
"Can I tell you something Livvie?" She heard him ask as he spooned her from behind.
She turned over to lay on her other side facing him, she smiled before whispering, "Sure."
"I'm a little nervous for your dinner tonight." He admitted quietly as he let his eyes close and he rolled on his back.
"What?" She wasn't expecting that at all. "Babe, it's just us and our friends. Why are you nervous?"
He sighed feeling foolish for bringing it up. "Never mind, go back to sleep." He said as he threw his arm over his eyes.
"Fitz..don't do that. Don't hide from me, talk to me.." She turned on her stomach and placed her hands underneath her chin before reaching over and pulling his arm off of his eyes and scooting up to kiss his bicep before laying her head on it. "..please."
"It's just..I'm nowhere near shy but I know that people will be expecting me to give a speech and I just feel like I might freeze up and embarrass you."
"Hey, you don't have to give a speech if you don't want to. None of that matters more than just being there with you." She moved her hand to his now bare chest and traced circles over his abs.
"Do you mean that?"
"Yes, come here." He allowed her to pull him onto her chest as she rolled on her back. "Stop worrying, I love you."
Fitz adjusted to where only some of his weight was fixed on her body and laid his head on her heart. "I love you too." He allowed the beating of her heart to soothe and put him to sleep.
He woke up before her, his head was still resting on her chest and her hands still in his hair. He inhaled deeply as he looked up at her trying to remember this moment forever. He wasn't sure how he would be able to go back to the way they were before this. He wanted to always fall asleep and wake up to her; there was nothing he wanted more. She turned her head to the side giving him the perfect view of her sexy neck. He kissed her heart before moving up her body to kiss her collar bone eventually making it to his destination. He felt her stir in her sleep and gently bit on her neck to wake her up.
"Wake up sleepy head." He breathed into her neck. "Happy Birthday baby."
She couldn't stop the smile from forming on her lips, she wanted to sleep but she couldn't deny that this is the way she had been dreaming of waking up since she had met him. She pulled his head up to look at her, "Morning love."
Fitz felt his insides melt, she had never called him that before and it made him feel some type of way. He couldn't make a coherent thought so he just smiled.
"Where's my present?" She asked playfully against his lips.
"Present?" Fitz pulled back and lifted the shirt she was wearing over her head, admiring her briefly before removing her boy shorts and his boxers. He moved back between her legs and kissed her stomach on his way back up to her mouth. He drug his hand slowly up her leg to inside of her thigh and she opened her legs wider for him. "Were you expecting some type of present today?"
Her eyes closed and she bit her bottom lip as he slipped a finger inside of her. She moved her hips with him until she was so close she could taste it. Instead of continuing to let her finish he stopped and she looked up at him confused.
"Something wrong?" He asked with a mischievous smile on his face.
Two can play this game she thought, "No, nothing. Let me.." She moved her hand to his chest to push him off of her.
He grabbed her hand and kissed her wrist, she smiled and he used his other hand to line himself up with her dripping heat, moving deep inside. He loved the way she felt. He placed his lips on hers and they moaned together as he moved in and out of her. He broke the kiss and sped up his movements as he kissed the spot behind her ear.
"Am I not enough of gift for you?" He grunted into her ear.
"Of course..oh god.." She moaned when fingertips deep into her waist and rotating his hips hitting every one of her spots. She was ready come and she was hugging him tight when he slowed his movements to nearly a halt. "No. Don't stop, Fitz, give me what I need. Stop teasing me."
"I love it when you beg Livvie," He placed a hand under her ass and pulled her even further into him. "Say it." He whispered against her lips. She shook her head no and he sucked her bottom lip hard into his mouth biting harder and harder until she gave in.
"Please Fitz.." She begged and he quickly obliged. He kissed her tenderly and she could feel him trying to apologize for biting her. She squeezed her legs aground his waist to let him know she was fine and he exploded into action, moving so fast, so hard, that she thought the bed would put a hole in the wall. He brought them simultaneously bursting over the edge into each others arms.
He felt like he had just played a full basketball game. His breathing was shallow and his head was spinning. She always took him the brink of existence before he came crashing back. It was the best feeling in the world and he would never grow tired of it.
"God, was that my present? If so, can I have that everyday from now on?"
He chuckled at the seriousness of her voice. "Stop being so adorable." He said as he pushed off of the bed and pulled out of her.
"Mmm..come back babe." She whined. "It's my birthday and I want more of that."
"As much as I would love to fall back in the bed with you, we can't."
"Why not?" She asked sitting up on her knees.
"We can't because we have people downstairs." He picked her up in a fireman's hold and carried her into the bathroom to shower before she could protest any further.
"Happy Birthday!" The group yelled when they walked into the kitchen thirty minutes later and Olivia felt her face flush.
"Thanks guys!"
"No problem Liv, how does it feel to be an adult?" Abby asked.
Olivia sat down at the table and poured herself some juice, "It feels the same. I don't think I will feel like a real adult until we get to Harvard." Fitz handed Olivia the plate he made for her and kissed her temple before making his own.
"I swear you too are like a married couple. Jacob wouldn't even let me steal a piece of his bacon and he definitely didn't offer to make my plate."
"Abby, I stopped listening after you said Jacob because my ears started bleeding! What did I tell you about that?" Olivia asked seriously and everyone started laughing.
"Whatever Liv!" Abby said sticking her tongue out and throwing a piece of her biscuit at her.
"Abby relax, it's her birthday of course he made her a plate. This isn't a normal occurrence. Right Fitz?" Jake asked.
"Actually," Fitz grabbed his plate and set it at the table next to Olivia then scooted his chair closer to her before sitting and continuing. "Whenever we eat together I always make her plate. She is my Queen she deserves to be taken care of."
"You guys are so cute." Quinn said from across the table.
"Wait, wait. Shouldn't she be treating you like her King? I think you have the game backwards." Huck said with a chuckle.
"Why can't it go both ways?" Olivia challenged before Fitz could answer.
"Because that's not the way the world works Olivia. Fitz will realize it once he is around other guys in college and sees how real relationships work."
"Huck, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, shut the fuck up. College isn't going to change the way I treat Olivia, nothing will. If you don't like it I suggest you keep that shit to yourself."
Olivia rubbed Fitz leg under the table to try and get him to relax.
"Uhh new topic?" Jake asks and everyone nods. "So ladies are you excited about your spa day?"
"I am but I want to go snowboarding too."
"Liv you can snowboard after your spa day. I think it's supposed to end around two."
"Are you still going to want to snowboard at that time? I don't want to learn from anyone else." Olivia turned to Fitz awaiting his response.
"I'll have been snowboarding all day at that point. My legs will probably be dead." Her face dropped and he felt awful.
"Ok." She said quietly, placing her fork down and picking up her plate. "I'll meet you guys down here in what 45 minutes?"
"Yeah, see you then Liv." Abby said as she walked off.
"I'll be right back guys." Fitz wiped his mouth and hopped up from the table after Olivia. "Livvie, wait up."
She stopped at the stairs and turned to face him.
"I can stop snowboarding with the guys early so that you and I can go at two if you want." He grabbed her hands and tugged her to him.
"It's okay Fitz, really."
"I'm sorry I thought you would want to be with your girls-"
"It's fine. Don't worry about it." She said quickly cutting him off. She reached up and ran her fingers through his hair and watched as his eyes slipped closed and he relaxed. "Go finish your breakfast. I know you're hungry."
"You promise you're not upset?"
"Fitz." She warned.
"Okay, okay." He kissed her forehead. "I love you."
She closed her eyes and let his words wash over her. "I love you too, always."
She turned and jogged upstairs to get dressed.
"Where's umm what was her name?" Olivia racked her brain for a name but she couldn't place it. "The girl that came with Harrison?"
"She had a family thing and had to leave." Quinn answered.
"Oh, well that sucks. Alright, what are we starting with first? Mani's and Pedi's?"
"No, we are getting the deep tissue massage first." Abby said and Olivia gave her a look. "I know you have Fitz wrapped around your finger so that he does anything you want but I am not here to spoil you, birthday or not. I've been waiting on this damn massage since Fitz mentioned it."
"First, I don't have anyone wrapped around my finger. Second, you are lucky I am in a good mood and don't feel like arguing or we would be doing anything but that first."
Abby scoffed, "Sure Liv. Keep telling yourself that."
"Are you two always like this?"
"Sorry Quinn, we usually are a little better." Olivia said and they laughed as they headed out to the main building where the Spa was located.
"That was so much fun but boy am I spent." Huck said as he plopped down on the couch when they returned from snowboarding.
"It was fun, I'm glad I made it back in time before you guys left."
"What happened with your girl?" Jake asked.
"She had a family thing." Harrison said looking over at Fitz. "Anyway, Fitz what did you get Olivia for her birthday?"
"I'm not telling. You will see it with everyone else at dinner." Fitz smiled.
"I'm sure it is something I'll never hear the end of." Huck said.
"What's your problem Huck? I thought you liked Olivia?"
"I do like Olivia but you treat her like she walks on water."
"Your point?" Fitz replied struggling to keep his voice even.
"Besides the fact that she doesn't?" Huck blurted out and he could see Fitz fuming. "I mean, that's cool and between you two but you are giving these girls false hope. After breakfast all Quinn kept saying was how sweet it was that you make her plate and that you cook for her. Dropping hints like she wants that shit and how sweet it was of you to run after when she seemed upset. Blah, blah."
"Huck does have a point, Abby has been doing a lot of comparing lately."
"You guys are idiots, it's ok to be affectionate with your girl it doesn't make you weak. I don't always give Olivia what she wants and when she's wrong I bring it up and she knows when I'm serious. Ask Jake about the ride up here." He looked towards Jake and he agreed. "With that said though, I don't go out my way to not do things for her just to feel like "the guy" in our relationship. I like doing things for her and I love seeing her happy. Plus, I'm not the easiest to get along with either. I suggest you guys get used to it now or make new friends at college next year." Fitz said laughing.
The girls walked in and they all sat next to their guys while Olivia came and sat on his lap, laying her head on his shoulder as she wrapped her arm around his neck. He instantly wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head.
"You want to take a nap before dinner?" She asked softly into his neck.
"Whatever you want Livvie." He stood and grabbed her hand. "We should meet here around seven thirty for dinner, does that work for everyone?"
They nodded and they said their goodbyes before moving updtairs. She undressed quietly, moving under the blanket in only her bra and panties and he felt himself growing. He quickly undressed down to his briefs and slid in behind her.
"Is everything ok?" He asked worriedly.
"No." She said in a small voice.
He turned her around and she looked like the saddest person. "Livvie, what's wrong. It's your birthday baby and today is supposed to be a happy day."
"It is..it's just that..I called my parents and they didn't pick up and they haven't called yet." She swallowed hard and looked up at him. "Why wouldn't they call me and say something? What if they forgot?"
He pulled her into his chest, "Baby, don't be upset. I'm sure they just got busy and will call a little bit later." He knew the disappointment and hurt that came when your parents didn't call or show up for an important day like your birthday. That was one of the reasons that he didn't really do birthdays and he didn't wish that hurt on anyone. He moved back a little and looked in eyes. "They love you and you know that. They would never forget you." She nodded sadly. He laid back on his back pulling her onto his chest and rubbed her back until they drifted off to sleep.
"Nope, put on something else."
"Fitz are you crazy? I didn't bring anything else." She giggled at him.
He picked her up and set her on the counter in the bathroom, "It's too revealing Liv. I don't like it." He pouted as he looked at the tight black dress she was wearing.
"Stop. It's fine, no one out there is checking for me Fitz. They all know I'm yours." She said placing her arms around his neck.
"Mine." He said as he sloppily kissed her neck.
"Mmmm..we can't start right now..we can't be late to our own party." He continued until she pulled his head up by his hair. "Fitzgerald."
"Uhh ohh. The full name." He glanced down at her and she was giving him her no-nonsense look and he backed away. "Ok, I'm done..for now." He smirked before going to get dressed.
They arrived downstairs just in time for the car that was taking them to part of the resort where the dinner was being held. The girls complimented each other and the guys talked during short ride. When they walked into the ballroom Olivia's mouth hung open and she looked up at Fitz. He shrugged and gave her a huge smile as they walked in and saw a few of her friends from her old and current swim team. She didn't think she could get any happier until she saw her parents enter and she rushed over to them.
"Mom, dad! What are you doing here." She embraced them both in big hugs.
"Did you really think that we would miss our babies 18th birthday?" Maya asked.
"Livia you know we would never do that. Plus, Grant made sure keep us in on the secret dinner." Rowan said as he shook Fitz hand.
"Fitz you knew?" Olivia scrunched her nose up in faux anger and poked him in the side.
He laughed and backed away from her holding his hand up in surrender. "Livvie it was supposed to be a surprise." She reached out to pinch him and he grabbed her hand pulling her flat against his body and hugged her. "Are you happy now Livvie?" He whispered in her ear.
"Ecstatic." She beamed up at him.
Dinner was great and Olivia had given Fitz a signed autographed jersey by Michael Jordan that Huck and Harrison were falling all over each other for and everyone was hollering for her to give a speech but she remembered the conversation that she and Fitz had had the night before and she knew if she gave one he would have to too so she declined.
It was Fitz's turn to give Olivia her present and his hands were sweating. He didn't want to give a speech but it would be kind of weird to give her his gift without explanation. He took a deep breath and looked over at her and the warmth, love and encouragement that he saw in her eyes gave him all the confidence that he needed.
"Well, the gift I got you Olivia is one that I hope you will keep with you.." He cleared throat, trying to remember what he was going to say now that all eyes were on him and she squeezed his hand and nodded for him to continue. "It's something that I hope you will wear with you until it's time for me to give you something a little more permanent."
He pulled a small box out of his pocket and he heard all the girls in the room gasp. "I got this ring for you as a promise of the love I have for you. I chose this one specifically because of its shape and the fact that it is the infinity symbol." He took it out of the box and slipped the gold ring on her left index finger. "I don't know a lot of things about life or where I'm heading but I do know that I'll love you forever, always, endlessly, bounlessly and whatever other word that was created to convey infinity." He laughed and everyone else did too.
He lifted his glass off the table before saying, "So here's you, your first day as your own woman and the first day of the rest of our lives." Everyone raised their glasses taking a sip then began clapping.
Olivia didn't care that her parents we across the table she stood and kissed him with everything she had. After a few whistles and howling they broke apart keeping their foreheads pressed together she mouthed, "I love you." He smiled and mouthed it back.
After dessert they walked her parents, the other guest there for only the dinner out and she gave them big hugs before moving beside Fitz and watching them drive off.
"Can we go upstairs so that I can give you your real present?"
"Livvie, the autographed jersey was enough." He said looking at her.
"Fitz..do you really think that I wouldn't think about your gift in more detail? The jersey was nothing, my dad knows Jordan."
"Wait, your dad knows Michael Jordan? The Michael Jordan?" His eyes bugged out of his head.
"Oh god, come on babe. I'll tell you that story another day." She laughed pulling him inside towards their room.
When they entered she led him towards the couch in font of the fireplace. She went to the closet and pulled out a small package with brown wrapping and handed it to him. He opened it and she waited a moment before looking at his reaction.
Quickly after they started dating and she saw his love for cooking she started shopping around for rare cookbooks and when she came across the perfect Italian one in New York she had to have it. Her mother took the money from the trust that her Grandfather had left for her when he passed and purchased it for her. She wasn't sure if he would like it or not and his reaction made her nervous. He sat there staring at it not moving, not saying a word and she started to panic.
"You hate it don't you? I just thought..I can send it back-"
She was cut off by his lips on hers, he held her face close and she could feel the wetness of his tears on her cheeks. She pulled back and wiped his cheeks with her thumbs. "Babe?"
"This is the best gift anyone have ever given me. You are one of few that know of my love for cooking and how much it means to me. This was beyond thoughtful and something that I've always wanted but thought would be to corny for the jock that I was supposed to be to have in his possession." He kissed her again this time pulling her to straddle his lap. "You're are the first person that I could be myself with and I thank you for not judging me based off of who I was supposed to be. I meant what I said earlier, you and me for-"
"Infinity." She finished for him.
He nodded and brushed his lips against hers lightly, "Infinity."
A/N: Hey so I hope y'all enjoyed this! I know it's been awhile but I've been trying to work on writing this and my other story together so that I don't neglect one. It's been working out so we will see how that goes. How sweet are Liv and Fitz? Did Fitz do the right thing in getting Adnan out of there? Do you guys think Fitz spoils Liv too much like the guys think? I was finally able to incorporate the infinity ring, what did you guys think of their gifts? Thanks for reading!
P.S. Is it bad that I'm already itching to write them in college? Until next time..
