Episode 6: Arrival
Scene 1
When Jayce came to he felt his wrists and ankles bound with steel. The room was completely dark, but he didn't have to see anything to know where he was. The only place he would have taken himself if he needed to preform an interrogation. The Tesla Volt Room. Jayce rolled his head back, knowing the other Hunters were watching him and waiting for him to wake up. It took brick about thirty seconds to enter the room. He was trying to be dramatic with the lights off and using the light from behind the door to temporarily blind Jayce. "So how does it look from there?" -Brick. "You need to work on your dramatic entrance." -Jayce. Brick strolled over to the chair in the center of the dark room. "So are you gonna tell me where your friends are?" -Brick. "Don't you mean us?" -Jayce. "Okay, tell us." -Brick. "There's nothing to tell." -Jayce. "You know I will really turn it on." -Brick. "Of course you will, it's your job." -Jayce. "Come on Jayce, cut the act! We know you helped transport someone out of the city, tell us who it was and where they are now." -Brick. Jayce looked directly into Brick's eyes. "I always wondered how long I would last." -Jayce.
Brick backed up, he had nothing more to say. He walked to the door and opened it. "Remember I gave you a chance." -Brick. Jayce did not respond. After Brick left the conductors in the room began charging up. They began sparking and building up energy in the slow way that Jayce had witnessed so many times already. Jayce softly chuckled to himself, it was almost poetically ironic that the device he had used to torture others was now turned against him. The clock began running, counting down the seconds until the first bolt. Jayce prepared himself by taking in a deep breath and then letting it out in a steady flow. Having used this machine so many times he already knew about the slight whirling sound the machine makes before the voltage is released. But knowing could only help prepare him. There was no getting out of this mess anytime soon.
The clock counted fifteen seconds and the crackling of electricity surged down from the conductors and into Jayce's body. This caused all of his muscles to go extremely rigid and hold at the tightest possible flex. Jayce let out no sound as he gripped the seat with his fingers and absorbed the pain for the full three seconds. When the electricity stopped Jayce let out the breath he had held in and he continued with his deep breathing until the clock reached time for the next interval. Jayce was again electrocuted, but he didn't open his mouth, he didn't scream, beg, cry or even consider a compromise. Jayce had tortured people with this machine for years and now he was getting his comeuppances. He was not like the others though, he wasn't a house maid, a waiter or a mailman. He is a silver rank Hunter and although he doesn't like to admit it, he is very tough to keep down. The third bolt was released and Jayce took the pain head on again.
On the other side of the two-way mirror Brick, Lady and the Rookie were all sitting there intently. Brick began to get relaxed in his chair and he picked up a magazine. "You're gonna wanna turn that up or we are gonna be here for a long time." -Brick. "What to like seven fifty?" -Lady. Brick leaned back in his chair and used his foot to push the lever controlling the voltage all the way up to one million volts. "That's for Vampire and Lycans!" -Lady. She put her hand on the device but Brick asked her a question that stopped her in her tracks. "If we go easy on him, do you think he will give us any information?" -Brick. The Rookie nodded his head in agreement. "That's true. I heard that during the Frontier Days they used to torture the Hunters to keep them from giving up any info if captured by the immortals." -Rookie. Lady took her hand off the lever. Regardless of whether it was true or not she had worked with Jayce for years and she knew he was not one to crack under pressure. When the million volts hit Jayce for the first time he felt the intense increase and his muscles were so strained he was almost breaking out of the chair. After the three seconds he was out of breath and spitting out saliva. He looked up at the clock only thirteen more seconds until the next one.
Scene 2
Selene moved towards the door. "What about us Selene?! You have a responsibility to us!" -Kelvin. "Take the truck and get into the forest wait a day and then come back and check on things. If there's a barricade still go to the last city we were at and I will find you there." -Selene. "Selene what happens if we get caught?" -Estella. "You won't get caught, you guys know how to stay hidden and don't draw attention to yourselves." -Selene. "What if you get caught?" -Estella. "Then it's a good thing you guys know how to survive on your own." -Selene. Selene turned and left the bunker. She didn't know where Jayce would be taken, but she knew where she could find out. The one place where all Hunter information would have to pass through. The Hunter's base.
Selene stood outside of the Hunter's base. She took in the surroundings. To the right was the parking lot structure and to the left was an electronic company building that was taller than the Base. Selene developed her plan and headed across the street into the electronic building. The bottom floor was mostly open with a huge seating area and a large front counter with ten greeters. Selene went to sit on the farthest couch from the counter. She would standout like a sore thumb, so she scanned the other people who were waiting. There were a few women about the same size as herself but there clothes were absolutely horrid. Just when it seemed Selene would have to chose one of these a woman walked out of an elevator wearing a black skirt suit. There were other business personal around her but that was just the cover Selene would need. She stood up and walked into the crowd directly toward the woman and put her hand on the woman's jugular vein. With the amount of pressure Selene could press upon it the woman passed out in only a couple seconds and Selene wrapped her arm around her neck like a friend would during a victory celebration. With no one paying full attention to what was going on Selene walked the lady into the woman's restroom and into the handicap stall.
She emerged two minutes later wearing the business woman's black skirt suit. She looked in the mirror and tired her hair up in a ponytail as neat as she could. She then jumped up onto the stall and locked the door from the other side. "You better not leave here with my clothes." -Selene. Selene told the unconscious woman in the stall who she was kind enough to dress up in her own leather clothes. Selene made her way to the elevator but felt like everyone was watching her because of the obnoxiously loud noise her high heels were making. She also had trouble walking in them seeing as how she had never had to do it before. Regardless she made it to the elevator with no incident. As she was hitting the Close Door button a business man hurried into he elevator. "Hi, I haven't seen you before." -Business man. Selene smiled then she smacked his briefcase out of the elevator and the man went out to go get it. The doors closed behind him.
This elevator only went to the tenth floor so Selene had to get out and find another elevator that would go higher, or stairs that would lead to the top of the building. As she maneuvered around the tenth floor she overheard the boring everyday conversations of these humans who were so careless as to the potential war that was about to erupt in their city. The city was in a state of lock down but all these people were thinking about was sports, TV series or whether or not they would make their deadline. When Selene found the stairs she took off her high heels and ran up the stairs covering ten steps in only two strides. When she reached the roof exit it was locked so she grabbed the lock and ripped it off the door. She dropped it and pushed the door open. She ran to the side of the building and looked down. At twenty stories up it was over eighty feet higher than the Hunter's base. Selene stood on the roof ledge balancing herself perfectly on it. She would have to be careful on her landing because she didn't want to fall through the roof of the building or alert the Hunters.
On top of the ledge she took a deep breath and looked all around her. The city lights filled the area below and ahead she saw many more buildings and what looked like a building with a hole on the side. She didn't spend too much time on that though. Selene stood straight up and leaped forward off of the building top. She flew across the sky and fell down on top of the roof entrance. She smashed many of the bricks into pieces and she stood up and pulled her skirt back down. She stepped off the doorway and opened the door like if she had done this before. She walked down the steps and reached the door separating the stairwell from the rest of the floor. There was a tiny twelve by six window that allowed Selene to see out onto the floor. There were a few people working at desks in cubicle style offices. There were also offices pressed up against the wall. One of them was blocked by a steel door. Selene knew that had to be it. Whoever was behind that door would have to have knowledge of where Jayce was taken, otherwise they don't deserve to have the only protected office.
Selene went back up to the roof. Using her location and the location of where she saw the room, she estimated the location of the window to that particular office. Selene then stood up on the building ledge and began carefully climbing down the side of the building. Any normal person would lose their grip and fall, but Selene's Vampire strength helped her hold on with a grip tighter than a vice. When she reached the window she looked into the office. It looked empty. Selene then stepped onto the window seal with her bare foot and began to disperse her weight onto the ledge. Once on the ledge she tried to slide the window open but it was locked. Who locks a thirteen story window Selene wondered, but she had no choice left except to break it. She use her elbow to knock a few fragments of the glass out without breaking the whole window. Then she reached inside and unlocked the window, now she was able to easily slide it across.
The office was empty but Selene still crept around quietly to avoid detection from outside. She went to the desk and pulled out the chair. She sat in it and began opening all the drawers looking for files. But there were files everywhere in every drawer and even piled on the side of the desk in two neat stacks. Selene ran her hands through her hair and undid her ponytail. She was frustrated at not being able to quickly solve this situation. Then she noticed a cellphone on the desk. She picked it up and began flipping through it. After a few seconds Selene heard a noise outside. The first metal door had been opened. Selene dropped the phone on the desk and got up out of the chair. The second door opened and Mrs. Lindinstine came into her office. She was carrying a stack of files that came up to her chin. She walked over to her desk and dropped the files down on top of it. She then scratched her head and spun around with her pistol pointed at Selene who was in the opposite corner holding Mrs. Lindinstine's old shot gun.
"You're still fast." -Selene. "It's what kept us alive. Your the one we're looking for aren't you? The Hybrid?" -Mrs. Lindinstine. "Not exactly but close enough I guess." -Selene. "You know you're not going to get out of this building alive right?" -Mrs. Lindinstine. "I've been in worse places." -Selene. "You haven't fired yet, so you aren't here to assassinate me just yet. What are you here for?" -Mrs. Lindinstine. "Where did they take him?" -Selene. "Take who?" -Mrs. Lindinstine. "You know who." -Selene. "Well we aren't in the habit of taking Vampire or Lycan alive much anymore." -Mrs. Lindinstine. "Not Vampire or Lycan. A human, a Hunter." -Selene. "I don't know what you're playing at we wouldn't take one of our own prisoner." -Mrs. Lindinstine. Selene readied her trigger finger. Mrs. Lindinstine rubbed the trigger of her gun. Before either of them could fire the phone on Mrs. Lindinstine's desk rang. The two women looked at the phone as if it was a deadly bomb that was about to explode. Mrs. Lindinstine took the phone off and dropped it on the desk and pressed the speaker button. "Lindinstine, it's the Commander we have a serious problem. The silver ranks have taken Jayce down into the basement and I have reason to believe he was hunting the Hybrid alone when he set off an alarm in an old coven. Lindinstine are you there?" -Commander. "Yeah, I'm here. I'll call you back." -Lindinstine. "I need you to over-" -Commander. Mrs. Lindinstine hit the hang up button.
"So he found you then?" -Mrs. Lindinstine. "I can't let him live with the information he has." -Selene. She had to change her approach realizing if they thought the two were in association they would likely keep interrogating him for information. "Well he's here and he's under our protection so you just walked into the most heavily armed building in Krystal City for nothing." -Mrs. Lindinstine. Selene ran towards the window, Mrs. Lindinstine fired at her four times hitting her once in the shoulder before Selene dove through the glass and out the side of the building. Selene flew through the air and hit the cement wall of the parking lot. She smashed into the structure and stumbled to her feet. Mrs. Lindinstine fired again from her office a distance away but hit Selene in her left calf. Selene rolled out of range of the window but then from behind her shots were being fired in her direction. The car she was hiding provided little cover as the windows blew out and the doors came loose. She couldn't tell how many people were firing at her. She waited until she thought they were reloading and she ran across the lot to the next section of cars. There were three Hunters firing at her all with automatic pistols.
Selene grabbed hold of a tire and ripped it off the car then she spun the tire over the car toward the Hunters. One of the Hunters dove out of the way while the others kept shooting. Selene ran again and she was hit in her left thigh. The bullets barely were slowing her down. Although nothing but a head or heart shot could kill her, she was slowing down with each bullet that hit her due to the pain of the UV liquid inside the bullets. It was like having a wound and then having someone drop a coal into it. Selene got behind an SUV and pulled the UV bullet casing out of her calf. When she tossed it aside a Hunter rolled off the top of the neighboring car and opened fire. The first shot hit Selene in the stomach but she ripped the passenger door off the SUV and used it as a shield. Then shots started coming from the other side of the parking lot. More Hunters were arriving.
Selene threw the door at the Hunter in front of her and she ran for the end of the parking lot that had a clear opening over looking the small park out below. As she ran for the opening all the Hunters opened fire on her. She was hit on her butt and three times in the back as she leaped off the side of the parking structure. This landing was not graceful at all. Selene crashed into a tall tree and hit three branches on the way down before hitting her face on a aluminum park bench. The park bench received a dent the size of Selene's head and she had a large cut on her forehead. She got up and limped to the farther side of the park. She only had between thirty seconds to two minutes before this place would be crawling with Hunters. Selene wiped the blood out of her left eye and took note of a large truck stopped at a red light. Selene ran to it as quick as she could and grabbed onto the side. The light changed to green and the truck started to pull away she threw her body over the side and it shook the truck. The driver looked at his rear view mirror but didn't see anything because Selene was laying flat. He shrugged and kept on driving.
Scene 3
Eve sat in her red Ferrari looking intently at a drawing of Selene on what looked to be a modern Wanted sign. Eve got out of her car and ripped the paper off the wall. "Extremely dangerous Vampire wanted for the murder of Hunters in the Lowlands. I did that! How dare she take credit for my kills?!" -Eve. Crumpled up the paper and tossed it to the side. Eve was about to get back in her car when she noticed another poster a little further down the street. She ripped that one down too. She then got in her car and drove past but she kept seeing the posters of Selene littering the walls, windows and light poles of Krystal City. Eve had to try very hard not to rip off every single blasphemous poster. She had a meeting that was about to begin, she didn't have time to lose her temper over this. Eve parked in front of the water purification plant and waited for Allison to arrive. It took them about five minutes to come out. Allison was leading the six others out. Allison and Kalibak got into the Ferrari with Eve and the other four got into the car they had used earlier to transport Eve.
There was very little said between anyone it was a very quiet drive over to the docks. The yacht was docked and a few of the Vampires were looking down from the railing. When the Red Ferrari parked they disappeared onto the boat. Eve led the Lycans onto her Yacht and the Vampires were all sitting in chairs around the bloody pool. "Stephan take us out!" -Eve. Eve yelled up to Stephan who was the only person allowed in the captains section while eve was gone. Stephan started up the yacht and did exactly as Eve said. The Lycans all stood in a small tight circle on one side of the boat while Eve moved some of her vampires around. "Okay we will wait to begin until we are well out of sight of the docks." -Eve. The Lycans still stayed far away from the Vampires and the Vampires couldn't help but flash dirty looks at them. Kalibak took Allison by the arm and spoke to her. "This was not a good idea, we are completely vulnerable out here." -Kalibak. "Just calm down. If she wanted us dead she could have killed us long ago." -Allison.
Once the yacht was out at sea Eve stood in front of the pool and towards the tip of the boat. "Today is a new day. Maybe not a perfect one, but one that future generations will be proud of. Today we welcome our immortal brethren into our lives, not as enemies or rivals but as brothers in arms. Together we will form an army so great that the humans wont be able to resist us. The Hunters will fall and the police will fall and then the rest will follow suit." -Eve. Kalibak and the other Lycans listened carefully to Eve's entrapping words. "Lycans, take your true form and show my friends that you are not just mindless beasts! Show them that we can work together." -Eve. Allison stepped away from her protective group first she looked around at the vampire. Then she transformed into her Lycan form. Some of the Vampires closer to her moved their chairs farther away. There was a vacant seat right across the way from Eve. "Take a seat Allison." -Eve. Allison sat in the chair as a full sized Lycan.
"You see they have control over the animal within, just like Vampire they use their powers to feed upon the flesh of humans. Are we really so different?" -Eve. One of her Vampires stood up and spoke. "They lose themselves to their power they can become animalistic!" -Vampire. Many of the others cheered in agreement. "And what of a Vampire that goes too long without human blood? How would you get along if I decided to lock you in a room and see what happens to you?" -Eve. The Vampires grew silent, with serious blood withdrawals Vampires become feral and will hunt down anyone it can sink it's fangs into even other Vampire. Kalibak stepped forward toward the pool. "And how do we know we can trust these back stabbers and snakes? Vampire have always been the deceivers of the immortals." -Kalibak. This angered many of the Vampires and they grew into a frenzy of yelling. "Quiet! You may be right Kalibak, some here may think they will turn on this army and join a more segregated group." -Eve. Eve began to walk around the chairs the Vampire were sitting at. "But you see anyone who defies me will suffer the same fate as the humans." -Eve. Eve stopped behind the chair of the first Vampire that had spoken out. She grabbed his chin and ripped his jaw off of his face leaving him to bleed out in seconds. Then Eve kicked his chair over and dropped his body into the pool.
"They don't follow me because I'm nice or a good leader. No, they follow me because I will win this war and they'd rather be on the winning side. How about you Kalibak?" -Eve. "As long as you have your people under control I will follow Allison." -Kalibak. "Welcome to our army then. Vampires! Greet your new allies get to know then for tomorrow the war begins and you will be shedding blood together." -Eve. Eve walked up to the captains section where Stephan had been watching everything. "What did you think?" -Eve. "I think you put the fear of god into them." -Stephan. "when all this starts where will you be?" -Eve. Stephan did not understand the question. "I mean what side will you take. Will you try to run away back to the humans or will you remain here?" -Eve. Stephan could tell Eve did not want to hear him suck up to her. She wanted the truth. "I think I will join the side that gives me a better chance of living." -Stephan. Eve started laughing hysterically, it was comedic to her that even after seeing what she could do Stephan still believed the humans stood a chance.
Scene 4
After yet another bolt Jayce rolled his head on the back of the chair trying to catch his breath but his heaves were so great by now he couldn't possibly catch up. Five more seconds until the next one. Over the course of watching him, Lady noticed that sometimes he would begin laughing hysterically. She was the only one left in the control room as the Rookie had gone home and Brick was waiting in front of the door, sure that Jayce would crack at any minute. No ordinary human had ever gone past thirty minutes in the chair. Only a few minutes ago lady had reported their actions to the Commander via her phone. He was now on his way down to the basement level. The Commander walked right up to Brick and grabbed him by the ear pulling him into the control room. Brick was taller than the Commander but he was not at any liberty to fight back. The Commander threw him into the room next to Lady. He then grabbed hold of the lever and powered down the TVC. "Who wants to explain what the fuck is going on?!" -Commander. The two Hunters looked between each other and shrugged.
The Commander smacked his palm against his forehead. "There is a protocol we have for this situation. I call you to get him, you bring him in, he sits in a cell and I or another superior officer interrogates him. You have no right to interrogate a Hunter more importantly one of higher rank than you. Now I can expect irrational action like this from you Brick, but what were you thinking Lady?" -Commander. Lady looked between the wall and the floor. "He attacked us." -Lady. "No he didn't." -Commander. "Yes he did!" -Lady. "No he didn't! Because if he attacked you, the three of you would be dead! I have seen Jayce attack Vampire and Lycan and when he does it there's no remorse in his eyes, no sense of pity or mercy, just death and how to bring it about in the quickest most violent of ways. Now what did he really do?" -Commander. "He took of his cape and-" -Lady. "And you thought that meant he wanted to kill you?! In the Frontier Days Hunters fought like that all the time, it was a sign of respect or honor." -Commander. "We had reason to believe he was collaborating with the enemy." -Brick.
The commander looked around the room. "Well where's the evidence?" -Commander. "There was no physical evidence." -Lady. "So you thought, 'Hey Commander wants us to bring Jayce in lets fight with him, bring him back to base, hook him up to the TVC and not tell the Commander until like thirty minutes into the interrogation.' Is that what was going through your heads?" -Commander. The Hunters said nothing. "Brick step outside." -Commander. Brick stepped outside and the Commander went out and closed Lady in the control room again. On the outside the Commander looked Brick in the eyes. "I know whats going on with you. I know what's going on with your wife. Now we got the best doctors in Krystal City ready to help her out when the baby comes but I think it's best if you stay with her." -Commander. "I need the -" -Brick. "The money yeah I know it's paid vacation. Two weeks to a month whatever you need." -Commander. Brick nodded in agreement. "And don't worry I know what happened to the other two. That won't happen again, I hear they brought in a specialist for you guys this time. So what's it gonna be?" -Commander. "Doctor says if it makes it it's gonna be a boy." -Brick. "Hey, hey, listen to me he's gonna make it. You think up a name yet?" -Commander. "No, the doc says choosing a name just makes losing it harder." -Brick. "Okay well fuck that, you go home and you spend time with your wife and your daughters and you think up a name for their new brother." -Commander. Brick nodded in agreement, he was fighting back tears. "Now get outa here and I don't wanna see you again until after the little guys born." -Commander. Brick slumped down the hallway towards the elevator.
The Commander opened the door to the TVC and Jayce was still sitting there cuffed into the chair. He was still breathing heavy and drool was falling out the side of his mouth. Every fifteen seconds his body would spasm uncontrollably. "Lady get outa here!" -Commander. He yelled at her through the two-way mirror. He could see her walking towards the elevator from the open door, down the same hall Brick just walked. The Commander walked up to Jayce. "Looks like you owe me one Kid." -Commander. The Commander grabbed Jayce by the chin and turned his face to look at him. "But what the fuck were you doing there?" -Commander. Jayce let out a wheezy laugh before his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he passed out.
Scene 5
When the truck Selene was in hit a red light on a distant street Selene rolled out the back of the trunk and limped to the sidewalk. She went to the nearby phone book and opened it to the A section searching the last name Argeris she found two addresses. One in the city and one in the countryside. She couldn't get to her coven or Darwin's mansion in her current condition so she went towards the apartment listing under Argeris, after all there were only two people with that last name in the phone book, the chances of it being Jayce's apartment were fifty fifty. It was not very far from where she was currently at. When she reached the building she did not approach it from the same side Jayce always comes in from. She came from behind and passed through a wide alleyway. Adjacent to the apartments was a night club that played their music really loud. She then turned the corner and was in front of the apartment building directly across the street was the restaurant that Jayce's eats at most everyday.
Once inside Selene got into the plaza, the directory told her that the Argeris name owned the 199th apartment. She got into an elevator and leaned into a corner. As she went up a mother with a daughter got into the elevator. The daughter spent most of the time staring at Selene. Then she blurted out. "You're bleeding miss." -Girl. The mother started pushing the open door button rapidly on got off at the next floor. When she reached the top it was easy to find the 199th apartment it was one of the ones blocked with caution tape. Selene slipped under the tape and pushed open the door she was surprised to find the lock was broken. The door swung open and Selene went inside. The apartment was devastated. It looked like a tornado had ripped through earlier. Selene walked in and she could see outside the building from the massive hole in the wall. She recognized this hole as being the same one she saw from the top of the electronic building.
Selene laid on the mattress on the floor to rest up and allow her more serious wounds to close up. But the cases of the UV bullets were still embedded inside her body and she could feel them every time she moved. Selene got up off the mattress and went to what was left of the bathroom. From here she could see straight down to the street. She washed her face in the sink bucket and noticed the picture frame standing on the sink side. She picked it up and looked at it. The picture had a burnt hole through it like it had been shot. The woman in the picture looked like she was possibly pretty if her photo hadn't been shot. Selene put the photo back carefully and went to the closet. She opened his closet and looked through Jayce's clothes. Then she looked down at his boots that littered the inside of the closet. Pressed up against the wall was the armor with Selene's palm print in it. She ran her hands along the top shelf of the closet and felt with her fingers. She grabbed something and pulled it down, a gun. A revolver of extremely large caliber. It was much larger than Selene's hand size and looked like a gun for taking down a raging elephant. The bullets were not UV or silver nitrate. Selene pulled one of the bullets out of the wheel and it had a strange drill type feature Selene had never seen before. She put the bullet back in a reached up to the top of the closet again and at the very back she found a cartridge of these huge bullets. The package had a warning label saying these bullets were highly explosive. There was a little depiction of a man's arm getting blown off.
Selene put the cartridge back up but kept the gun. She sat down on the bed and started cleaning the dust off of it. There was not much to do here Jayce had no TV and most of his furniture was broken. Selene began spinning the gun around her finger. She then laid down and rested the gun on her stomach. It was only a few minutes before Selene was fast asleep. Even with the music from the night club blaring outside.
Scene 6
Jayce was walking down a dark hallway, he saw a woman walking towards him in the dark. She did not respond as he called out to her. He told her to stop but she didn't. He could not see her face until she was right in front of him, it was his mother and she smiled then grabbed Jayce and bit into his neck with her fangs causing a torrent of blood to spew forth. Jayce shook himself awake in a prison cell on the second floor of the basement level in the Hunter's Base. He was breathing heavily due to the nightmare. "Bad dreams?" -Voice. The voice came from the cell next to Jayce he turned around and saw who it was. Darwin Blaine was sitting in the prison cell next to him. "What the hell are you doing here?" -Jayce. "I could ask you the same thing, but you asked first so I will tell you first. I broke my probation leaving my mansion. Your boys tracked me down and offered me protection." -Darwin. "This is protection to you?" -Jayce. "Oh yes. See they are coming I know it and you should know it they are coming. And when they get here I will not be safe anywhere except here." -Darwin. "Who's coming?" -Jayce. Jayce's body twitched uncontrollably. Darwin laughed. "You have been doing that for the past thirty minutes and it is still funny." -Darwin. "Who's coming?" -Jayce. Jayce asked again. "No, no you need to answer my question first. What are you doing in here Hunter?" -Darwin.
Jayce did not answer him. "You met with her did you not and she promised you that everything would go great? That you would only benefit from helping her. She threw you around a little first though right? Broke your tough spirit. She is wrong Hunter Jayce Argeris she cannot stop what is coming. This whole town is going to pay the price for her arrival here." -Darwin. "Who is coming?!" -Jayce. "Jayce!" -Commander. The Commander was standing behind Jayce at the other side of his cell. "What were you doing in that old vampire hideout?" -Commander. "What do you think? I was tracking that Hybrid!" -Jayce. Mrs. Lindinstine stepped out of the elevator and walked towards the cell Jayce was in. She looked the Commander in the face and pressed her badge against the lock pad. Jayce stepped out of the cell. "She came here looking to kill you Jayce. I guess you got on her nerves. Get your gear and go home, we will need you well rested for when the task force arrives tomorrow." -Mrs. Lindinstine. "Whoa, task force you don't mean -?" -Jayce. "Yes I do mean him and his group. I told you if this turned out to be related to the Hybrid case we would need to call in others to help." -Mrs. Lindinstine. "I can handle this!" -Jayce. "Really? Then you better handle this in the next six hours because I just had her point my own shotgun at me. She's going down and we are clearing out this city of all types of vermin.
Jayce grabbed his badge and utility belt off the desk of the prison cells and was about to leave. He stopped and went back to Darwin's cell. Darwin knew what he wanted to know but he wanted to mess with Jayce. Jayce decided it wasn't worth his time so he left. As Jayce hit the button for the elevator Darwin yelled to him. "It's Queen Calypsa, she is coming and she is bringing hell with her!" -Darwin. Jayce stepped into the elevator and repeated the name to himself until it became memory. In the parking lot Lady had been sent to get Jayce's car back from the forest, it was parked where he normally parked it. Jayce got in and started it. From his window he could see the commander looking down on him from the fourth floor. He could also see the shattered window where Selene had crashed through earlier. Jayce started his car and got out of the parking lot. Every little while his body would shake leading to him almost stomping his foot down on the gas. But he made it home without incident.
When Jayce got out of the elevator on the last floor he stepped underneath the caution tape to his room and pushed the door open. Selene jammed her forearm into his throat and pushed him up against the wall. Jayce grabbed hold of her shoulder and kneed her twice in the ribs until she let go. Then he grabbed her by the waist lifted her up over one of his shoulders and threw her back down to the ground. He didn't have to worry about bothering the neighbors with the sound because they had moved out due to unsafe living conditions. Jayce coughed out a wad of saliva and waited for Selene to get up. She was much slower than usual. "What's wrong with you? Why so slow?" -Jayce. Selene got up and leaned against the wall. "Your friends though it be nice to shoot me up with those UV bullets you guys love so much." -Selene. "Let me guess. The casings are stuck inside your?" -Jayce. Selene nodded in agreement.
Jayce went to his demolished bathroom and got a pair of tweezers out of the broken mirror cabinet. He then went to the kitchen and pulled a knife out of a drawer. He came back to Selene. "Well sit down." -Jayce. Selene sat down on the bed. "Well, where are they?" -Jayce. Selene pointed to her thigh. Jayce pulled her skirt up a little bit and started feeling her thigh by putting pressure on it until he felt the irregularity that was the bullet casing. He pressed the knife against her skin and quickly sliced her leg open. Selene looked away as he prepared to stick the tweezers into her wound. "So you actually live here?" -Selene. Jayce held the wound open with his left hand and reached in with the tweezers in his right trying to get a hold of the casing. "Yeah, courtesy of the Hunter's Branch I am being forced to stay in this highly unsafe apartment." -Jayce. He pulled the casing out of Selene's thigh and threw it toward the broken table where Jayce drops his keys.
"Next one?" -Jayce. Selene pointed to her shoulder. Jayce motioned for her to take off her jacket, which she did. "So what happened here?" -Selene. Jayce saw the bullet hole in Selene's blouse but it wasn't big enough for him to cut the bullet out so he ripped it more. Selene glared at him. "Sorry but it's already got bullet holes so It can't be worth that much to you." -Jayce. "It's not mine." -Selene. Jayce pressed the knife against her skin and sliced her open again. "Well I staged a death here." -Jayce. "Did you really need to blow up the apartment to stage a death?" -Selene. Jayce chuckled. "I admit I didn't think it all the way through." -Jayce. He got hold of the second bullet casing and began pulling it out. "It was my death right? That's why they thought I was dead." -Selene. Jayce nodded and then pulled the bullet out quickly. He threw it at the table too.
"Where else?" -Jayce. Selene stood up and lifted up he blouse a bout halfway and there underneath was Jayce's silver cape wrapped around her waist. "Here this is yours." -Selene. Selene then laid down on the bed on her stomach. Jayce held the cape in his hand and smiled. He rolled it up and put it on the bed off to the side. When he looked down at Selene's back he saw three blood marks where the bullets had entered. Even lower on her butt he saw a bullet hole in her skirt. "You got shot in the ass?" -Jayce. "Shut up before I break your jaw." -Selene. "It's okay I got shot in the ass once." -Jayce. He pulled up her shirt even higher to get a perfect view of the blood marks on her back. "Really? Why?" -Selene. Jayce cut into Selene's back. "It was along time ago back when I was still a bronze rank Hunter. At that rank you can take on your first hunts for lone Lycans and Vampires. Anyway I had been doing it for about a year. But my new partner he was on his first day out. So we walk into this old warehouse looking for a Lycan that's on the run. Barely a few steps in this giant wolf dog jumps up against a fence and scares the shit outa my partner and he squeezes the trigger and the bullet goes right into my left ass cheek." -Jayce. He pulled one of the bullets out of her back. "Do you like your old stories and the things you did?" -Selene. "I guess I do tend to reminisce more than I should." -Jayce. He cut the second hole to get the next bullet. "I wish I could forget the things I did. All of them seem a waste now that they were done to meet someone else's ends." -Selene.
Jayce pulled out the fourth bullet and tossed it. "How long had you been a Death Dealer?" -Jayce. "As long as I have been a Vampire. Maybe around six hundred and fifty years." -Selene. "Really? You look like you could easily pass for two hundred." -Jayce. Selene let her face fall into Jayce's pillow. "Okay well this last one here went all the way through to the front of your chest. So I'll get this one first." -Jayce. Jayce looked at the bullet hole on Selene's butt. He tried to figure out where to put his hand for support. With nowhere to put it that wouldn't be on her butt he instead just rested his entire forearm across Selene's lower back. Selene picked her head up and looked to see why Jayce was putting all his weight on her. "What are you doing?" -Selene. "I need a steady surface don't move." -Jayce. With one quick slice he parted her skin and separated it with the tips of his fingers. He then reached in with the tweezers and began extracting the bullet. "Have you done this before?" -Selene. "Yeah back when we were still flipping Vampire and Lycan we would leave the bullet casings in and let them heal over so we could torment them without actually doing anything other than putting weight on the areas. Eventually we would have to take the bullets out though." -Jayce.
Jayce pulled the bullet out and tossed it with the others. Selene then turned over on the bed to lay on her back. She then started to lift her blouse up in the front. "Whoa what are you doing?" -Jayce. "You said the bullet went to the front, so get it out!" -Selene. "Oh yeah the bullet of course." -Jayce. He began feeling her upper abdominal for the bullet. "Hey, did you get my guns?" -Jayce. Selene laid her head back on the pillow. "I think I lost them." -Selene. Jayce slashed into Selene's stomach and jammed the tweezers in to get the last bullet out. When he did he threw it across the room and took the knife and the tweezers to the sink. Selene sat up on the bed. "I'm sorry but I couldn't bring them with me and I had to leave them at the building next to the Hunter's Base." -Selene. Jayce was washing the tools he had used so he kept his head down when he replied. "Yeah I get it." -Jayce.
Selene looked around the room. "I'm hungry." -Selene. "Yeah me too." -Jayce. Jayce said in a monotone voice. "No I mean, I am 'hungry'." -Selene. Jayce turned around and looked at her, she was sitting patiently on his bed. "Well I don't have any blood here so you will have to wait." -Jayce. "I need it now!" -Selene. "Well your gonna have to wait!" -Jayce. Selene stood up. "Then I'll find my own!" -Selene. She was about to leave when Jayce stopped her. "No, you're gonna stay here!" -Jayce. "If I don't 'eat' I'm gonna go feral and then I will be that monster you are always so worried about!" -Selene. "If you step out of this building the Hunters will find you in minutes and in your condition you wouldn't even stand a change against a squad of blues! So get in here and sit down!" -Jayce. Selene walked back in and sat on the bed avoiding Jayce's eyes.
Jayce picked up the knife he had just washed and took out a cup from one of his cabinets. He then mumbled something to himself and held the blade of the knife in his left hand and pulled it down with his right, cutting his hand open. He held his hand over the cup and allowed the blood to drip in. When he looked up at Selene she was sitting at the edge of the bed watching the blood pour into the cup intently. When he finished Jayce pushed the cup across the counter and Selene jumped up and snatched it off the counter drinking it up in less than a second. Jayce was cleaning and wrapping up his hand when he noticed the cuts he had made on Selene were healing right in front of his eyes. Selene put the cup back down on the counter and laid down on the bed again. She reached one hand up under the pillow and pulled out the large revolver that was hidden on top of Jayce's closet.
"What's this for?" -Selene. Jayce was surprised to see that she had looked through his stuff. "That is for things that don't go down easy." -Jayce. "Do you think it would work on me?" -Selene. "Don't know. But I did flip a car over with it with one shot once." -Jayce. "How come you don't use it all the time?" -Selene. "No way, a gun like that just racks up more fines in property damage." -Jayce. Selene laid the gun on the bed next to Jayce's cape. She then sat up. "You said you wanted to find my daughter. I said I'd tell you if my coven got away safely." -Selene. Jayce leaned against the counter intrigued by what Selene was saying. "Well I changed my mind. I want to speak with her first." -Selene. "You can't just change the conditions of our deal." -Jayce. "I just did." -Selene. Jayce stepped out of the kitchen and walked into the bathroom and looked out over Krystal City. "Well you can't go out tonight. The best time would be midday, no Hunter expects to run into a Vampire in midday." -Jayce. He sat down on his broken toilet and stayed looking out over the city. Selene was laying on the bed running the silver cape through her fingers.
Scene 7
Eve watched as her vampires conversed with the Lycans as she had basically forced them to. There was very little to talk about except how crazy Eve had become. Everything seemed to be going fine to Eve until a large freighter ship began sailing directly towards eve's yacht. Eve turned to Stephan. "Why aren't they turning?" -Eve. "I don't know they must know we're here! Should I turn us around?" -Stephan. "No, let's see how much they hate their lives." -Eve. The vampires and Lycans became concerned when the freighter did not slow down or begin to turn. "when it was just a hundred feet away Eve spoke out. "Turn the boat now!" -Eve. Stephan started to turn the steering as hard as he could to get the yacht to turn back toward the docks this way if the freighter hit them it would only push them back towards the docks. Eve went running down the stairs passed the vampires and Lycans and when the freighter made contact with the yacht bumping the boat so hard everyone fell off their feet except Eve who had jumped just before and stuck her long black claws into the side of the freighter.
Eve began to climb up the side of the freighter. On the yacht Stephan struggled to get control of their boat. The front had been damaged, maybe even water compromised, they needed to head back to the docks immediately. When Eve reached the top of the boat she was shocked to find it completely empty except for the metal crates. There was someone standing on top of a large surveying pole. From there he could likely see to all four sides of the ship. The man was carrying a pair of binoculars. He had not noticed Eve yet. Eve was mad that someone would crash right into her boat on her special day. She took hold of a metal crate and flung it across the boat right past the surveying pole. The man took note of Eve now he slid down the pole and vanished from sight. The freighter was huge and there were crates everywhere. She could not see where he had gone. A large man turned a corner in front of eve and stopped. "You are trespassing, I suggest you leave now." -Man. "Are you insane?!" -Eve. Eve transformed into her Hybrid form she now stood taller than the man in front of her. "Interesting, we haven't even arrived in Krystal City and already we run into the Hybrid daughter. However, I am not currently at liberty to kill you so..." -Man. The man began to transform too. At first it looked like he would become a mere Lycan but his growth did not stop until he was towering over Eve at about twenty-five feet tall.
"I have seen a Lycan like you before." -Eve. "No, not like me." -Super Lycan. The large Lycan swatted Eve away before she could react, Eve flew backwards into multiple metal crates. Eve threw the crates off of herself but the large Lycan was gone. He emerged behind her and kicked her across the boat with his giant right foot. Eve crashed into more crates and began throwing them at the Lycan he easily hopped over them seeing as he was actually taller than the crates. Eve roared at the super Lycan and ran at him. She grabbed hold of his waist and began pushing him back. The Lycan didn't bother to try and throw her off because he did not view her as a threat. He stuck the claws on his feet into the boat and held steady. Eve grew even angrier and she pushed the Lycan back causing his claws to rip long tears on the boat floor. She was pushing him back to the other side of the boat. A feat that would have been impossible for any other immortal. The Lycan tried to stop her but he could not get a good enough grasp on the floor so instead he took hold of her waist and jumped straight up into the air.
The Vampires and Lycans on Eve's boat watched intently as the super Lycan flew into the air. He then started coming down towards their boat. He landed in front of the pool and power slammed Eve into the floor of her own boat causing her to fall through multiple floors. The super Lycan looked around at the others and just growled at them. Then he jumped again and flew high into the air landing on his own freighter. Kalibak looked back and forth between the Vampires and the Lycans. "What just happened?" -Kalibak. At that moment Eve emerged from the hole she had made in her own yacht and went to the tip of the ship. The freighter was now too far away for her to reach it and the super Lycan had turned back into a man and was waving goodbye to her. Eve roared at him over the railing of her yacht.
Allison took a step towards Eve. "So what now?" -Allison. "We chase them down!" -Eve. "I don't think we can." -Vampire. One of her Vampire told her this, Eve slowly turned around to face him. "Why not?!" -Eve. "The boat is damaged we are sinking." -Vampire. Eve hadn't noticed it before but he was right the boat was slowly taking on more and more water causing it to drop lower. Eve roared at the sky and went into her cabin and did not come back out. Stephan did his best to get the ship back to the docks. The freighter was parked off in the distance on the other side of the beach at the cargo side of the docks. A few minutes after reaching the port the boat hit the ground and stopped sinking. Without Eve the Vampires and Lycans didn't know what to do, whether they should wait or leave. They waited most of the night but as morning began to approach the Vampires began to file into the cabins of the yacht and the Lycans were left a top the leaning boat.
"Have you ever seen a Lycan like that?" -Kalibak. "Yes I have." -Allison. Allison responded, she was staring into the crystal clean water and lost in memory. "When? How?" -Kalibak. "Back when my father worked at Antigen they had a simulation that showed what would happen to Lycans if we could perfect the strain with the DNA of the captured Hybrid. At the time there were no test subjects it was still in the advance stages. But my uncle was never a patient man, I'm sure he tried it out at least once." -Allison. "So are you saying this is one of Antigen's creations?" -Kalibak. "It's possible. But I have my doubts. Come we should leave before sunrise too." -Allison. She and her Lycans crowded into one car and left the docks behind, not sure how Eve would react when she emerged from her room.
Scene 8
On the large freighter the super Lycan man walked towards the door leading into the captains quarters. There was a long ascending stair case that led all the way up to the top. Normally a ship this big would have offices or lunch rooms here but on this ship it was all empty space. The man walked all the way up the rotation stairs and when he reached the top there was a submarine style lock, he spun the lock and opened the door. Inside there was a large chair adorned with furs, leathers, feathers and jewels. Buried underneath all the furnishings the chair could barley be seen. On the chair laid a woman, she was barely dressed and she was clinging onto a large gold plush crocodile toy. The gold stuff crocodile was about twenty feet long including it's tail and it was made out of the softest material attainable. This woman laying here as if nothing affected her was Queen Calypsa, the self proclaimed queen of Vampires.
Directly ahead of Calypsa was a sun glass view of everything in front of the freighter. From here she could see the front of the ship and Krystal city in the distance. "We are here my Queen." -Man. Calypsa slowly and lazily pulled her body up she had a chinchilla fur scarf around her shoulders. Besides that she only wore a bejeweled bra, she was not wearing any lower underwear. Even still the Super Lycan man retained eye contact with her the entire time. "This place looks dismal." -Calypsa. "This was once the border between your control and Viktor's." -Man. "Really?" -Calypsa. She stood up and walked to the sun glass. "How lovely would it be to make it mine to spite his dead soul!" -Calypsa. She stretched out her hands against the glass as if trying to hug the city. "Raynon! Who was that lady you were playing with?" -Calypsa. She did not let go of the glass instead she let her head hang on hinge and looked at him over her shoulder. "She is the daughter of the original Hybrid." -Raynon. "How strange that she would simply be out in the open like that. What did she say?" -Calypsa. "Not much, but she was strong. Stronger than her father for sure." -Raynon. "Stronger than me?" -Calypsa. "Maybe." -Raynon.
Calypsa looked back at Krystal City. "Do you want to leave?" -Raynon. Calypsa let go of the glass and rolled back into her chaotic throne chair. "No, if we ran every time things didn't go our way how would we have gotten this far?" -Calypsa. "It's not like it was Calypsa, you don't have to fight anymore. That's what the soldiers are for." -Raynon. Calypsa put her palm out towards Raynon. "Get the soldiers ready and notify our friends on the mainland. First thing is first, we must find that treacherous rat Darwin." -Calypsa. "it will be done." -Raynon. Raynon left the room leaving the queen alone with her many blankets, pillows, jewels and furs. She wiggled her body back into the pile until she looked like just another ornament on the pile of precious goods. After Raynon was gone for a few seconds Calypsa yelled at the door. "I am the Queen!" -Calypsa. She was not yelling at him so much as yelling to invigorate herself.
Scene 9
When Jayce woke up he was still sitting on the toilet seat and it had become noon. He stood up and stretched out his back and arms. Without a wall separating the rooms he could see that Selene was still sleeping in his bed. Jayce looked at his face in the mirror he had a nasty bruise right above his right eye, most likely from where Brick had knocked him out. The mirror in his bathroom was shattered so his reflection was split. He then pulled up his shirt. The bruise that used to be on his chest was almost completely gone. It was now just a sore blue spot mid chest. Jayce began to run in autopilot mode. He took off his clothes and got in the shower. If not for his foggy plastic sheet Krystal city would be getting the flashing of a lifetime. He shaved his face and pulled hi hair back in the shower.
As the water poured over his body he forgot where he was, it was just another pain, just another day going to work injured. He got out of the shower and got dressed silently without waking Selene. He put his badge in his pocket and his utility belt on, he had no gun belt. He went to his refrigerator and opened it. It was as empty as ever. He knelt down and pulled a revolver out of the bottom of the fridge. He could pick up the specialized bullets at work for free, that was a perk of being silver rank. Jayce stuffed the black long barreled revolver in his utility belt and left his apartment. After he left Selene opened her eyes. She had been faking being asleep in order to observe him.
When Jayce walked out onto the fourth floor he tossed the brown paper bag onto his desk. Lady and the Rookie both slowly turned around, they also had horrible bruises on their faces. They still took the doughnuts though. Jayce sat down at his desk and pulled his keyboard towards himself. He took out a doughnut and ate it as he typed into the Hunter database. He searched the name Queen Calypsa, he remembered it from when Darwin was telling him. There was actually quite a lot of data on her, but a lot of it was mythological stuff. She apparently had a cult following and a brand of clothing named after her. She was a public icon like a Greek god or something. A lot of the info on her was tainted by myth, some reports claimed she was two thousand years old while others stated she was only eight hundred. One old book that was kept in the Hunter's archives claimed that she could breath fire and control Lycans. Other books claimed her to be a benevolent vampire that led her people to riches long ago.
There was nothing concrete on her aside from Darwin's fear of her. Jayce got up from his desk and went to the Commanders office. It was empty so Jayce just went down into the second floor of the basement to talk to Darwin. Darwin was writing something in a brand new notebook when Jayce arrived. "Ah Hunter Argeris, I had a feeling you would stop by today." -Darwin. Jayce leaned against the bars. "What are you working on?" -Jayce. "Oh, it's just a quick log of my life, the history of Krystal city." -Darwin. "Do you really think she can get you in here?" -Jayce. Darwin closed the note book and turned to face Jayce. "I do not know. But I would rather be prepared to die than take by surprise." -Darwin. "Well that makes sense." -Jayce. Darwin stood up and walked over to the bars near where Jayce was leaning. "Hunter Argeris, should you not be working the Hybrid case and not looking into the ravings of an enemy vampire?" -Darwin. Darwin looked deep into Jayce's eyes. "Oh she got you did she not? Yes, yes, I see it! She convinced you just like she said she would. Do not worry Hunter, your secrets safe with me. For now." -Darwin.
"Tell me, if she was coming to Krystal City, where would she go first?" -Jayce. "You will need the Hybrid. The one that killed your friends and coworkers. She is the only one that matters against the Queen and her army. But you will not work with her will you?" -Darwin. "If I see her I'll put her in the down like the animal she has proven to be." -Jayce. Darwin smiled. "This is chess Hunter Argeris, I am the king, I cannot move. She is the Queen on the opposing side and you are my knight, but you will need to gather the other pieces. The rook, Selene and the bishop Eve, the Hybrid. Only with all the pieces can you wear down the army until the Queen steps out and then you must strike." -Darwin. "The King is the most valuable piece. Why are you the King?" -Jayce. "Why do you think she's coming for me? Why do you think she is risking leaving her castle to find me? I have access to her fortune and I know all the inner workings of her criminal empire. With the information I have you could bring down her entire operation that spans between three continents. You could be the Hunter that reveals the biggest immortal secret since the existence of the Corvinus blood line. They would idolize you everywhere as the hero who brought them all down. It is not like Selene or Eve could take credit for her death, they must remain hidden or face persecution." -Darwin.
Jayce stepped away from the bars. "Where would she go?" -Jayce. "I do not know, but you can start at my mansion. I am sure that even if I am not there she will want a message sent." -Darwin. Jayce reached through the bars and grabbed Darwin by the neck and pulled him up off the ground. "When this is over I want my debt to the city paid." -Jayce. "If I live through this, it will be done." -Darwin. "Even if I die, I want it paid anyway." -Jayce. "I do not think I could have chosen a better knight." -Darwin. Jayce turned and left the basement. Darwin watched him leave and then he opened his notebook and began writing something vigorously.
Scene 10
When Jayce got up to the first floor the elevator stopped for others to get on. Jayce decided to get off here. He made his way passed all the blues and there desks. He noticed that the Commander and Mrs. Lindinstine were both downstairs chatting, which was extremely rare for them. Jayce walked up to a Vampire expert's desk. Her desk was buried in books and she was too busy to even notice Jayce take a seat. "Hey." -Jayce. She still didn't notice him. Jayce snapped his fingers in front of her face and she finally looked away from her books. "Oh wow, silver rank. That's like three floors up right?" -Expert. "Yes, it's exactly three floors up, but listen I need some help." -Jayce. "You need my help? I don't do field work." -Expert. "Not field work, I need your help in uncovering some information on a Vampire." -Jayce. "That's perfect, that's exactly what I do!" -Expert. "I know that's why I'm here." -Jayce. "Do you have a file?" -Expert. "No, I was hoping you could make me one." -Jayce. "Okay, do you at least have a name?" -Expert. "Queen Calypsa." -Jayce. The expert laughed. "Everyone knows Queen Calypsa, my lipstick is her brand." -Expert. "Okay, what I need you to do is separate all the fact from the fiction, can you do that for me?" -Expert. She nodded in agreement and started typing away on her computer again.
Before Jayce could get up out of the chair the entire office went silent. Jayce stood up and looked towards the front door. Clad in the newest and somehow dirtiest armor available to Hunters. Four of them, the standard team number, but nothing was standard about these Hunters. In the far back a large Russian man holding not one but two miniguns, one in both hand. He also wore a huge back pack type machine that was actually a cartridge of over two thousand bullets. On one side silver nitrate and on the other UV. In front of him was a female, she was of Asian decent and on her waist were four katana. Two on one side and two on the other. Next to her was a very tall bald American, he held a sniper rifle over his shoulder but the rifle was longer than he was tall making it longer than seven feet. The rounds it shoots are considered anti-aircraft standard. Standing in front of his group surveying the Krystal City Hunters wearing his dirty, ripped up and old gold colored cape was the leader. Although all four of them wore golden capes his was half the size of theirs because of wear and tear. It also had spatters of blood stains on it.
He had medium shoulder length dirty blonde hair and fastened onto his back was a large six foot long claymore sword. The sword was also blood stained, likely because he never cleaned it. On his gun belt he had six large automatic pistols, three on each side. He had shiny blue eyes and thick stubble. Gold rank Hunter Logain Sorbo, the greatest Hunter the human race had to offer. It was him and his team that slayed the original Hybrid in Paris, France. The only way to reach gold rank is to kill over one thousand Vampires or Lycans. Hunter Sorbo looked through the crowd. The Commander and Mrs. Lindinstine were walking towards him. He stepped right passed them when he made eye contact with Jayce. Sorbo walked towards Jayce pushing the desks out of his way as he walked. Jayce started walking towards him too. When they reached a mid point the two men were standing face to face, Sorbo was about five inches taller than Jayce. The two men glared at each other. "Little Jayce, it's been so long." -Sorbo.
