Episode 8: Turn

Scene 1

Eve was sitting on the lounging part of her yacht near the pool. She had watched the entire battle play out with little care for who was winning or what the death toll was. After the cannons fired into the city though she stood up to survey the damage better. The buildings crumbled and the fires began to spread. Eve's only problem with this scenario was that she was not the one behind the helm of that cannon. She poured herself another glass of blood from a pitcher sitting on the glass table next to her. She began to wonder if the super Lycan had joined the battle. Probably not since it sounded like a fair fight up until the firing of the cannon.

Stephan called to Eve to look towards the horizon. She turned and looked out at the ocean. To her surprise another freighter with identical appearance to the first was sailing towards Krystal City. Eve then realized what was truly going on here. This was not a show of force or a terrorist attack. This was an attempt at wiping out Krystal City before any reinforcements from outside could be mustered. With all other cities being surrounded by walls they care little for the havoc that is wrought outside their borders. Krystal City would need to wait until the nation took notice of this attack and then they have to decide if this city is really worth coming out of their walls to save it. That could take a week to debate and in that time Krystal City would be done under by this onslaught of Lycan soldiers.

This is when Eve's temper flared up again. She did not care about the mindless murder of countless civilians or the lives that would be lost defending this city. Instead she was angry because she had claimed Krystal City as her home. This would be the place where she would rise up and control. It would not belong to some super Lycan and his crew of soldier boys. Eve made a call to Allison and she answered. The water purification plant was far from the beach and so she had likely not even worried about the attack. Allison was still concerned about last nights events but Eve had moved passed that. She wanted Allison to report to her yacht. "Are you crazy? You want me and the boys to go out and pass behind a battalion of Hunters just because you have an idea!" -Allison. "They have their hands full over here trust me." -Eve. "I know I'm watching it on the news, and we're not going out there." -Allison.

Eve hung up the phone. It was a little after noon and the Vampires would be no help to her until after sunset. Eve pondered her situation. After a few more gunshots and screams Eve decided she would take action. It was a straight path from here to the docks on the other side of the beach. She would either have to go through the beach and fair to get there or go down the street which was filled with soldiers ready to reinforce those inside the streets. She made the only logical choice. To take the beach street and walk the long road to the docks. The minor inconveniences would have to be dealt with.

Scene 2

Jayce ran back down the stairs of the apartment building with Selene close behind him. He ran out of the hole in the wall and saw the Rookie and his men moving down the street and securing the area. The two nodded to each other and Jayce kept running back to the end of the street to the Hunter car he used earlier. He yelled back at Selene to get in the drivers seat while he got in the passenger side. He spent his time reloading his guns. He also opened the glove compartment and reached around inside. Selene watched with interest to see what was stashed back there. He pulled out a silver knife, an exact replica of the one he had before. Jayce put the knife into his boot. "When we get back, you take the car and you leave the city. You've helped me enough and you need to get back to your own people. They need a leader like you." -Jayce. "I thought you said I owed you?" -Selene. "The Patron of the Hunter's Base told me what you said when you broke in. That you were there to kill me. You saved me twice then, once when you came for me and again when you covered for me. I think maybe I might owe you a little." -Jayce.

Selene stopped the car near the street that was wreaked by the cannon shots. The fire and debris blocked the road, not to mention the road had been carved out the middle like some giant came and dragged a spoon down the entire street. Jayce got out of the car and looked into the window. "Remember to ditch the car as soon as you find your people. It's a Hunter vehicle so they will stop you if they see you." -Jayce. He turned and left the window. "Thank you!" -Selene. He stepped back to the window. "For what?" -Jayce. "For calling us people." -Selene. Jayce just nodded his head then ran into the distorted, destroyed street. Selene could here fire trucks behind her that were only tending to the areas behind the Hunter front line. She tapped her fingers on the steering wheel.

Jayce pushed his way into the first building, the door was halfway fallen off it's hinges and there was a sign of fire behind it. Jayce did not need to know any special layout information, because most of these apartments were just mirror images of the apartment on the opposite side of the street. Jayce ran through the building pushing down the broken doors looking for survivors, but the damage was brutal. Anyone not ripped to pieces by the blast was buried beneath so much rubble that he couldn't find signs of them. He ran out of the apartment and onto the smoky damaged street. Burning cars and fallen debris littered the area. Jayce spotted the Hunter vehicle that the commander was near earlier but there was no sign of him near the wreckage. But a charred corpse of a police officer was laying there.

Jayce coughed and covered his mouth with his left arm. He spotted the helicopter and ran towards it. As he did a bath tub fell out of a fallen building and nearly crushed him. The sight of the burnt bodies on the floor didn't help the situation, but these were civilians and their children, not Hunters. Jayce passed them and got behind the helicopter. There was no signs of enemies at the end of the street they must have figured anyone in this street was dead. Jayce then saw a figure exit an apartment building through the smoke. Jayce crouched down and walked quietly over to the person. It was a Hunter ruby rank. Jayce called to him and the man signaled for Jayce to come into the apartment building. Jayce ran for the collapsed doorway and rolled in to avoid the eyes of any passing enemies. Inside Jayce saw that the Hunter had collected a few families in this building.

"What's your name?" -Jayce. "Saul, my name is Saul, ruby rank." -Saul. "Saul I need you to get these people out of here it isn't safe. There is a path leading out of the street but you will have to pass through the last building. Okay?" -Jayce. Saul nodded he took a child by the hand and the rest of the people followed him having heard what Jayce had said. But right after exiting the door Saul returned. "They're coming down the street!" -Saul. Jayce got up and leaned against the door frame and looked out quickly. Four Lycans in full Lycan transformation were walking down into the street. Sniffing at the buildings looking for signs of life. Jayce silently motioned for Saul to take the people to the back of the building. He did so and Jayce was left alone in the lobby with a few corpses around him. Jayce pulled out his two revolvers and stood pressed up against the wall next to the door frame. He knew the Lycans would smell him out and that he would have to confront them. As they walked on all fours closer to the doorway Jayce held his breath and readied himself. He could feel the Lycan's heavy breathing through the wall and the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end.

There was a gurgle of blood from Jayce's left, he looked over. One of the corpses had ejected a load of blood from their mouth. Jayce's heart sank, he had seen this before. The next corpse also did the same thing spattering blood out of it's mouth as it shook itself back to life. These people had not died from the building collapse or the missiles. They had been attacked by the Lycans earlier. Now they were turning. A Lycan turned is likely to be unable to control it's transformations for the first couple of months. With three of the corpses in front of him changing and the four Lycans behind him Jayce was in a serious predicament. Not counting the Lycans, breathing was also becoming more difficult due to the increasing levels of smoke. Jayce took another deep breath.

Scene 3

Brick was awoken by the shaking of the floor that occurred when the buildings were shot down. He pushed the pieces of the debris off of himself and stood up. He walked to the window and saw the utter carnage. Bodies littering the street and fires starting up here and there, the sound of gunfire and yelling still filling the air. Brick got out of the building and was immediately caught up in a fire fight outside. A group of Hunters and officers were pushing back some Lycan soldiers. Brick had stepped out right into the midst of this and he had to dive back into the doorway to avoid being shot.

Brick readied his gun and went out of the door again but this time he was shooting at the Lycan soldiers. He hit one and then rolled behind the car that the Hunters were behind. "Brick, silver rank! What's the situation?!" -Brick. "We have over thirty different teams all engaging hostile Lycan forces. We also just got hit by a big weapon originating from the docks but no one can get over there to stop the weapon, it will only be a matter of time before they fire again." -Hunter. "Where are the silver rank Hunters?" -Brick. "They are all spread out, by orders of the Commander." -Hunter. "And the gold ranks?" -Brick. "They are not accounted for on the battlefield. Now cover my left!" -Hunter. They both stood up and fired multiple shots at the Lycan soldiers. The two crouched back down when the Lycans started shooting again. "It's gonna have to be us team! We only have a few yards until we hit Beach street so lets get rid of these dogs and find that weapon!" -Brick.

The four of them stood up at the same time and opened fire on the Lycans. After a few back and forth shots the Lycans were down. The coast was clear. Brick and the team of six that was fighting on this street pushed forward. They cleared the buildings and kept the entrance clear from a distance until they were ready to go out onto Beach street. Brick peaked out of the street to see what was happening to either side. The Lycan soldiers were no longer running around in ranks. They were scarce and mostly far away fighting other teams. Brick and the team moved out onto the street and took cover behind a small taco shop. The seven of them looked at the large freighter that was the source of both the Lycan troops and the deadly cannons. Brick gave the team instructions, he would take two men and move up the street while the other four would go down through the beach and move towards the freighter from the waterline. It was a dangerous gambit seeing as both paths were clearly visible, but they had no other choice. The amount of cover available out here was practically nothing.

Brick's team waited for the other team to reach the water's edge. Once they had he and his men moved out while keeping a low crouch the entire time. They reached a restroom station and got behind it. From here Brick could see the second freighter still holding it's position out at sea. He looked for his phone but couldn't find it on him, he must have dropped it. He knelt down and asked for the other Hunter's phone, he gave it to Brick. Brick first tried the Commander's number but the call could not connect. He then tried Lady and she actually responded. "Lady, where are you?" -Brick. "I'm near the Lowlands. We have the situation contained for now, but the number of troops over here seems never ending. Where are you?" -Lady. "I'm in front of the docks and I see that the Lycans have been coming out of this huge freighter. I can see another in the distance too." -Brick. "You're gonna have to go for it because the Rookie said any air support that goes near the docks gets shot down instantly. We will push harder over here and try and meet up with u before evening." -Lady. Brick hung up the phone and gave it back to the Hunter.

"Okay it's up to us. Lets take this place out quietly and get this over with." -Brick. He motioned to the Hunter to move out. The moment the Hunter stuck his head out it was blown clean off of his body by a fifty caliber sniper rifle. The body took another step before flopping down to the floor. Brick and the officer looked at each other, they knew they were stuck here unless the other team could take out the sniper. Brick got down on the floor and reached for the Hunters foot to pull his body back. The sniper fired again and the bullet hit inches from Brick's hand. It wasn't worth getting his hand shot off for the Hunter's phone or bullets.

The other team was passing in and out of the waves as the water came up to their feet over and over again. They were not too close to the docks when they heard the boom of the sniper rifle. They all fell to the floor and started to crawl forward through the wet sand. A few seconds later there was a second shot and they looked up to see where the shot was fired from. On top of freighter way up over looking the whole docks and beach was the crane used for loading and unloading crates. This crane had a small perch on it that could accommodate a regular sized man and his rifle. Although they knew that was where the shot came from they couldn't actually see him yet and none of them had a gun capable of shooting more than a few hundred feet. They kept crawling hoping that the sniper didn't notice them.

Scene 4

Eve arrived at the docks with blood dripping down her white torn up clothes. She had cleared out all the Lycans that dared stand in her way while she walked past the beach. The sniper atop the crane didn't bother to shot at her because after all he had seen his comrades unload fully loaded assault weapons on her and that didn't give her pause. Eve was like a juggernaut, she could not be stopped by these inferior creatures and she had yet to even use her transformation. She ripped the heads off the Lycans and flung their bodies and heads onto the freighter like a enemy would do during a castle siege. Raynon stood a top the boat watching as Eve tore through his men and made her way to the freighter.

When she was standing right on the docks she heard the sniper fire, but it wasn't at her, it was at someone else behind her a ways. She wasn't concerned with that though she only had one goal, to settle scores with the super Lycan. Eve was about to stab her claws into the boat to climb up but instead a draw bridge was dropped down to her. She took it instead. When she reached the top Raynon was waiting on the other side of the boat. He was standing atop two metal crates and was watching Eve intently. "I know what you are, Hybrid!" -Raynon. "The one that's going to end you!" -Eve. "Maybe so, but why fight me when you can learn from me?" -Raynon. "What could I possibly have to gain from you?!" -Eve. She let out a laugh at his proposition.

"So much. I see you fight and kill. You have great strength, but you have no skill! Your form is weak and direct, easily exploitable. I could defeat you right now without you ever touching me." -Raynon. "Wanna test that theory?!" -Eve. Raynon spread his legs apart and lifted his two hands into a martial arts type stance. His palms were facing down and his fingers were left at a lazy dangle. He then raised his right hand and motioned for her to come at him. Eve pounced off the boat and as her feet left the floor she transformed. She rocketed towards Raynon and then swiped at him with her right claw. Raynon simply moved out of the way and Eve went flying across the boat and crashed into the metal crates. Raynon stepped off of the crates and started walking towards Eve. She got up and used her super speed to appear behind him, she then swiped at him again. Raynon calmly turned around and chopped her wrist with the side of his hand and the slash was deflected. "Obvious." -Raynon. Eve dropped down and used a sweep kick aimed at Raynon's ankles. He stepped over her sweeping leg one step at a time. "Predictable." -Raynon. He used his palm and hit eve in the center of her chest with power that was not normal for a human. Eve flew backwards and hit a few barrels and then rolled to her feet.

She was breathing hard and Raynon was still just walking towards her. Eve grew rage filled and she grabbed a metal crate and threw it at Raynon. He reached back with his right hand, palm open and then he struck the flying crate midair and the metal crate stopped dead in it's tracks. He then hit it again with his palm and it surfed the floor of the boat all the way towards Eve. She dove out of the way to avoid being run over. When she got up Raynon was standing behind her. She tried to slash him with her claws again, he caught her by the wrist. Then she used her left hand and he caught that wrist too. So she tried to use her superior strength to over power him. Raynon was being pushed back until her kicked both of Eve's legs in the knee and she fell down to her knees. Raynon then pulled her right arm towards his body released her left and snapped the bones in Eve right forearm until her arm bent in the opposite direction.

Eve grabbed her forearm and yelled at Raynon. He circled around behind her, then he pinched her in the side of the neck for a few seconds and she reverted back to her human form. "How did you do that?!" -Eve. "You may be the strongest creature ever, but you're still an anatomical creature, meaning if I slow your blood flow you can no longer hold your Hybrid form. Just like a human cannot retain consciousness you cannot retain extreme amounts of energy. You are defeated young Hybrid, admit your defeat and join us." -Raynon. Eve laughed at the floor. "You had better kill me now, because when I get my hands on you I am going to rip out your heart." -Eve. Raynon was not bothered by her threat. Raynon raised his hand, it formed into the claw of a Lycan and he was going to slash his claws into Eve's brains. It was then that he was hit in the shoulder by a bullet fired from the barrel of a Hunter's gun.

Scene 5

Jayce rolled passed the soon to be Lycans and fired into their skulls only with one gun six times to be sure. That however caused the Lycans outside the doorway to leap into action. Two of them broke through the doorway and the other two made their own hole in the wall. Jayce dropped his left revolver which he had used to fire at the bodies on the ground and he drew out his third revolver and lifted both guns and fired at the Lycans while walking backwards. Most of the shots to the chest made contact but the ones to the head mostly missed. When Jayce was out of bullets he ran up the stairs with the Lycans close behind him. When he reached the top step of the third floor a Lycan caught up to him and bite him on the shoulder. His armor platting was the only thing that the Lycan bit into, but the wolf shook Jayce like a rag doll and then tossed him through an apartment door. The room was filled with fire and smoke, Jayce could barely see down to his feet. A large swipe from a Lycan claw came from the black smoke and Jayce flew across the room. Jayce rolled to his feet holstered his empty guns and reached into his back pocket.

He pulled out a spiked knuckle for his right hand but instead of using his left as well, he pulled the knife from his boot and took his stance. The smoke was blocking the Lycans from view but Jayce could hear them even with the fire going on. Their large paws made a slight crack in the unstable floor as they stepped closer to him in the darkness. As a Lycan traversed the smoke he felt the pain of a blade going through his foot. The Lycan roared to the ceiling, but he should have instead prepared himself. Jayce punched the Lycan repeatedly in the lower ribs until a decent flow of blood was pouring out. Then Jayce dodged the Lycan counter attack, a huge swiping right claw. Jayce ducked under it and then pulled the knife from the Lycan's foot and stabbed it into the triceps of the Lycan's outstretched arm. He then heard the stomp of a lycan foot behind him in the dark. Jayce ripped the knife from the first Lycan's arm and threw it backwards into the darkness he heard the sound of it make contact with the Lycan. The second Lycan tumbled to the floor.

The first grabbed Jayce and threw him across the room into a china cabinet. All of the expensive dishes were broken by Jayce's body. Jayce shook his head to clear his mind and the Lycan was running at him. Jayce took hold of the top shelf of the wood cabinet and ripped it out of it's place and he swung it like a great sword into the Lycan's face. As the Lycan stepped back from the impact, Jayce pulled the dual sided sword from his back. The Lycan tried to swipe at him again but Jayce hit the nasty claw with the blade of his sword and three of the Lycan's fingers flew off and into the fire. The Lycan looked at his hand and roared. When he looked back to Jayce for vengeance Jayce was gone.

Then from the smoke Jayce appeared jumping off of the kitchen counter and swinging his sword over head. He slashed the Lycan's snout right off it's face. The Lycan grabbed hold of it's face while blood gurgled out of the horrible wound. Jayce then stood silent in the room waiting for the other Lycan's to make a noise. The next sound he heard came from beneath him and before Jayce could jump a Lycan reached through the floor and grabbed his foot and pulled him down onto the second floor. Jayce instinctively rolled over as quick as possible and the Lycan's teeth bit on the side of Jayce's chest plate. The Lycan tried to force his teeth through the steel but it wasn't going to be possible instead as the Lycan bit down harder it's two canines cracked on the armor. Jayce then dropped multiple elbows onto the skull of the Lycan with the aid of his elbow blades it did considerably more damage. The Lycan released him and slashed at the armor plating, knocking Jayce back down to the floor.

Jayce then used his feet to jump back upright and he stepped forward close to the ground and swept his sword through the Lycan's left knee. This severed the leg and caused the Lycan to fall. The ground here was so unstable though that the entire floor gave way and Jayce and the Lycan were dropped out onto the street. Jayce rolled over onto his back and started reloading his guns. He then used the cover of the smoke to get back into the building and collect the revolver he dropped which he reloaded too in the safety of the hallway. There was likely still more Lycans to be found in the building but attacking the group alone with limited oxygen was going to be suicide so Jayce turned to leave the building and continue looking for the Commander.

As Jayce looked into the open doorways for survivors he saw none. The Lycan shad made quick work of anyone not killed by the cannons. Jayce then heard the ringing of a phone, a ring tone he had heard before. Jayce ran to the area the sound was coming from and he saw a liquor store. The door was blocked except for about two foot of space from the floor up. So he backed up and slid into the store with his guns up. Once inside Jayce saw the phone on the floor and the the Commander sitting up against the refrigerator doors with a bottle of whiskey in his hand. Jayce walked over to him and holstered his guns. "I thought you were Lycan lunch old man." -Jayce. The commander took another sip of the almost empty bottle. "I am." -Commander. He leaned over so that Jayce could see the blood stains on the side of his ribs. Jayce knelt down, but the Commander turned the wound away before he could get a good look. "That's not so bad, come on you've survived worse." -Jayce. "No I'm not a Hunter anymore, I'm a Commander, with a desk job and a bunch of misfits to try and keep in line. Or I was a Commander." -Commander. "You still are, now lets get out of here already." -Jayce.

The Commander leaned over so Jayce could see the wound better. "No I'm not, I'm not even going to be human for very long." -Commander. The wound was like one Jayce had seen many times before during the Frontier Days when Hunters died all the time on the line of duty. But what no one cared to mention was that more than half of the Hunter's that were reported killed in action were actually killed after the fighting stopped. Being bitten, it is one of the hardest ways for a Hunter to die because it didn't just weigh on the bitten, but also the other team mates or partners who would have to either step up and help end the life of a friend or stand and watch as the friend took their own life. The Commander had a clear Lycan bite on his body. "Pops..." -Jayce. "I'm not your father! I'm not even your mentor. Hell you taught me more than I ever taught you. After my son died I couldn't have another, then you came along young, energetic and in need of a person to guide you on your path. I wanted so bad for you to be my son." -Commander. Jayce looked down at the floor and saw the Commander's empty side arm. "I would have ended it myself, but I was all out of bullets." -Commander. Jayce looked to his left and noticed distinct bullet holes in the wall that seemed to be fired from the Commander's position. "Nothing get's passed you does it?" -Commander.

"It's okay I don't think I'd be able to do it either." -Jayce. "Don't give me that sympathetic crap. You wanna know what the others in the Base call you behind your back, The Man Who Feels No Pain. That's right. We've all seen you do the coldest of things and it doesn't phase you, it doesn't even make you wince and eyelid." -Commander. Jayce stood up ad he took out his old revolver. It was heavier than the others and it gave him a sense of connection to the past. "Don't take your sweet time, I want to make sure I die a human with some fucking dignity." -Commander. Jayce pointed the gun at the Commander's head and pulled the hammer back. "Good bye Pops." -Jayce. "See ya kid." -Commander. Jayce pulled the trigger and the silver bullet shot out of the barrel and broke through the front of the Commander's skull and burst out the back cracking the glass refrigerator door behind him. The blood scattered everywhere and painted the doors behind the Commander. A few drops splashed on Jayce's dirty face.

Jayce flipped his gun downwards and put it into his belt. The Commander's body fell to the side and laid there. Jayce turned around and saw Selene standing there in the liquor store. He bent down and picked up the Commander's gun. He walked to Selene and stood looking passed her. He stopped right next to her and held out the Commander's gun. "I've noticed you don't have your own gun, he won't be needing this one anymore. Selene said nothing but she took it from him. The gun was probably the heaviest hand gun she had ever carried. It had a scope attachment for long range shooting. Selene put it into the back of her belt. Jayce slid out from the liquor store and Selene followed him. "I thought you were going back to your people." -Jayce. "I thought it would be a good idea to build up on the favors you own me." -Selene. "We might die out there." -Jayce. "We might die right here." -Selene. Jayce looked at Selene and she held his gaze. "Let's go end this." -Jayce. The two moved to the edge of the street together.

Scene 6

Raynon looked over at the Hunter that fired a silver bullet into his shoulder and it was Brick. He was not alone standing next to him were five other members of his little team. "My, my I commend you humans for making it this far! But this is the end of your journey. Kneel down and accept the gift of Lycanthropy or Vampirism and you will be spared and chosen to join our ranks." -Raynon. The six men opened fire on Raynon and he threw Eve at them. She was hit by a few of the bullets but the men assumed her dead so they went to give chase to Raynon who had stepped down into the maze of metal crates. Brick gave the men orders and they traveled outwards in two groups of three. Raynon was leaning against a metal crate as the silver nitrate bullet and liquid was slowly being ejected from his body by his rapid healing factor.

Eve got up after the men left to chase Raynon she tried to transform but couldn't, she couldn't even call upon her great strength. Since she was currently no match for Raynon she ran to the edge of the boat and jumped off the side of the ship. Queen Calypsa watched from the safety of her room as Eve swam away from the freighter. "Mark my words Hybrid, I will wear your flesh like a Lycan's pelt." -Calypsa. Eve swam to the next pier over and held onto the support beam to regain her energy. It was covered with all sorts of sea life. As she held herself there she heard shots being fired from the freighter. Brick and his two helpers were engaging Raynon. Raynon was still not using his super Lycan form and he didn't seem to be too interested in quickly killing these humans. They fired shot after shot at him but Raynon was dodging the bullets and jumping between the metal crates. When he got bored of that he jumped at the men and took his fighting stance.

The three men assaulted Raynon with hit after hit and he just stood calmly staring forward allowing them to hit him over and over. Even Brick's heavy hits had no knock back effect on him. Finally after they exhausted themselves Raynon smiled and changed his stance. Then he launched forward and kicked the officer in the face so hard his foot passed through the man's nose and crushed into his skull. The man flew away and hit a metal crate and made a large dent in it. The man's face was dripping blood and his nose was barely hanging onto his face by a strip of skin. Brick and the other Hunter both went after Raynon and delivered more hits to him as he put his arms up to block his face and let them punch him repeatedly. After a while Brick and the other Hunter backed up and they noticed he was laughing at them. The two Hunter's pulled out their spiked knuckles, Raynon cracked his knuckles and made his hands into tightly clenched fists. He then calmly took another fighting stance.

The two Hunters came after Raynon again, but this time he moved to avoid their punches. He kicked the Hunter away and Brick swung his fist towards Raynon's face. Raynon took a step back and threw his fist right into Brick's fist and their knuckles clashed but the spikes on Brick's hand caused Raynon to pull his hand back from pain. Brick wasn't done though he took a large step closer to Raynon and lunged low and hit Raynon with an uppercut on the chin. Raynon almost came right off the floor, but instead he stumbled back and bumped into a metal crate. Before he could recuperate, Brick punched him again square in the chest leaving three stab wounds in Raynon's chest. Raynon pushed Brick away from himself and Brick flew across the boat and tumbled against some piles of large ropes. Raynon dashed at him and swung around to deliver a devastating round house kick, but Brick dodged the perfectly executed kick and slammed his fist into Raynon's groin. The super Lycan fell right out of the air with his hands clutching his crotch area. Brick took the chance and jumped on top of him and started delivering devastating blows with his knuckles.

Hit after hit Raynon grew more and more furious. He reached up and grabbed hold of both of brick's fists. "You will join us one way or the other!" -Raynon. Raynon began transforming under Brick. Brick struggled to escape from Raynon's grip, but he was using his super Lycan strength. When the transformation was complete Raynon was standing on his feet and brick was hanging in the air from his hands. Raynon bit onto Brick's body armor. The armor held up but then Raynon put more force into his jaws and Brick heard something no Hunter had ever heard before. The sound of his chest plate cracking! Brick tried even harder to escape but there was no escape.

Scene 7

Jayce and Selene came out at the edge of the street and were surprised by how empty it was. There were spots of blood on the street but they didn't see any dead bodies until they came to the edge of the street and could see onto the beach. The sand was covered with the bodies of Lycan soldiers. Jayce bent down next to a body and flipped it over. The throat had been ripped out all the way down to the spinal cord. This was not something a human could do. The amount of bodies, the severity of their wounds and the overall disregard for their positioning. Jayce looked to Selene and waited. "What?" -Selene. "This was done by a Hybrid for sure." -Jayce. "Well then lets go, she might already be on the ship." -Selene. Jayce and Selene ran down the long street to get to the docks. They ran passed the body of the Hunter that had been decapitated by a rifle shot.

There were no more Lycan soldiers on the docks but there was still gunfire coming from the streets and atop the freighter. Jayce was going to grab onto a chain connected to the anchor and climb up it since the bridge had been retracted but Selene grabbed him by his back and jumped up into the air so high Jayce yelled and grabbed onto her waist so he didn't fall. Selene landed gracefully on the floor but Jayce landed in a clumped on the floor next to her. He quickly got up and fixed his belts. "Don't ever do that again." -Jayce. "Let's go." -Selene. She led the way as they ran across the large ship and searched for anyone through the maze of metal crates.

When Selene turned a corner she was shot in the shoulder and she fell to the floor on her butt. There was a silver ooze coming out of her shoulder. Jayce rolled in front of her and held both of his guns up and he was surprised to see another Hunter looking at him. "She's with me. What's the situation here?" -Jayce. "There is a man on this ship who murdered someone and then ran into the crates and we lost him. We separated to find him but -" -Hunter. A loud cracking sound cut him off Jayce took Selene by the hand and helped her to her feet then the three of them ran through the maze towards the sound. But as they got closer Selene let herself fall behind and then she jumped up onto the tops of the crates and started pouncing from crate to crate.

When Jayce turned the last corner he saw Brick being held up by the giant super Lycan and the Lycan biting him on the chest. "No!"- Jayce. As Jayce yelled he pulled out both guns and began rapidly shooting at the super Lycan. The Lycan took his jaws off of Brick and then tossed the Hunter across the ship like a rag doll. Brick flew fifty feet in the air and landed some where in the maze of crates. "Your armor won't protect you Hunter!" -Raynon. The super Lycan ran at Jayce and the other Hunter on all fours. Jayce and the other Hunter continued firing at him but he didn't flinch. Before he got to them three other team mates of Brick's stepped out from behind a crate and opened fire. The surprise assault caused the super Lycan to get distracted and All five of them fired at him until he jumped off the boat an landed in the water. Jayce and the other Hunter looked over the edge. They didn't see him come up again for air but he was likely not dead from that puny barrage of bullets. Jayce went to go find brick and the other Hunters went on looking for any other hostiles.

Selene knocked on the door of the top room on the freighter. A voice came from inside. "Come in." -Calypsa. Selene opened the door and Calypsa was standing on the other side of the room carrying her Naginata. Selene stepped into the room. "So you're the queen everyone talks about? The one that Viktor didn't want to kill?" -Selene. "More like couldn't kill. He had his chance but he proved unable to end me." -Calypsa. "Oh so you are that great of a warrior?" -Selene. "I am." -Calypsa. The queen nodded to a cabinet next to the large glass window. Selene went to it and opened it. Inside were a few weapons that a warrior would use. A mace, an ax and a long sword. Selene took the ax from the cabinet. It was long handled and had two blades on either side. Selene rested the weapon over her shoulder. "Darwin want's me to kill you. Why?" -Selene. "Darwin was in charge of all my operations here in Krystal City, he was also my financial adviser for a large part of my fortune. All the money suddenly unreachable after he ruined my business plans here. I knew he had changed my codes and he was going to try and defend himself with my own money." -Calypsa.

"So you want to burn Krystal City to the ground for what one man did?" -Selene. "This city is more than just wood, stones and metal. It is his child. The work of his life. Everything he has built up is here in this damned city and he wants to take what is mine, then I will take what is his! Yes! This city will burn for one man's mistake! The name Queen Calypsa will then ring through the cities, states and provinces as the most feared Vampire ever!" -Calypsa. "What about retaliation from the other cities close by?" -Selene. "Don't think I am some infant playing with fire. I having been buying humans since before Viktor had Death Dealers like you!" -Calypsa. "You know who I am?" -Selene. "Yes I do. The great Death Dealer Selene, Viktor's pride and joy. He tried hard to keep you a secret from me but my spies are everywhere. I hear you had a child." -Calypsa. "I did." -Selene. "The second Hybrid. Didn't her father go by the name of Michael Corvin?" -Calypsa. "How did you know of Michael?" -Selene. Queen Calypsa reached into her breast plate and pulled out a little syringe of clear liquid. She held it up so Selene could see it.

"This is all that's left of Michael Corvin the original Hybrid! The Hunters had him liquified so that they could experiment on his DNA." -Calypsa. Selene jumped across the room and slammed her ax against Calypsa's naginata. Calypsa's feet cracked the floor from the impact of Selene's hit. Selene kept pushing against Calypsa's blade. Calypsa pushed back and the two held each other there. "I know about your little connection with Alexander Corvinus! I know that you are more powerful than other Vampires, but I will always have Michael's remains running through my blood and that makes me stronger too!" -Calypsa. Calypsa pushed Selene so hard she flew back to the other side of the room. The two began clashing steel in the center of the room, the weapons making bright sparks as they scratched each other. Selene was surprised by Calypsa's strength. The two seemed almost evenly matched but that was until Selene made a fatal mistake.

As the two slashed blades together Selene insulted the queen. "Even with this added strength you are still weaker than Viktor was before I killed him." -Selene. Calypsa growled in Selene's face and snapped at her face with her much larger fangs. Selene slid her ax along the blade of Calypsa's weapon and separated from her. Queen Calypsa circulated around Selene. "Viktor was afraid of me, he didn't want me killing all his precious Death Dealers! Or worse..." -Calypsa. She lifted her weapon to be parallel with her shoulders, then she began spinning the naginata around in her hands. At first Selene was confused by this useless attempt to distract her but as the blade spun past Calypsa's face her eye's began flickering all sorts of different colors. Selene was unable to break her gaze with Calypsa's eyes which went from green, to blue, to yellow and then on to every other color imaginable. Selene felt dizzy and disoriented. The floor began to move out from underneath her feet. She stepped to try and place her stance firmly but her foot fell on just air and she fell to one knee. She began bleeding from her ears and nose as she tried to stand up. The boat was seeming flipping over onto it's side and Selene was trying to hold on as the boat flipped all the way upside down.

Calypsa stopped spinning her weapon and Selene was sprawled out on the floor crawling towards the opposite end of the room struggling like if a hurricane was pushing against her. "You probably can't hear me clearly, but I am surprised you are still conscious. I guess you are stronger than the average vampire." -Calypsa. As Selene battled with the ferocity of the ocean she heard Calypsa's voice as a long deep echo. Calypsa lifted her naginata with the blade pointed down, high up over her head and then stabbed it down through Selene's body and into the floor underneath. The naginata went through all the way down to the end of the blade. Selene felt the pain spread through her body like a burning fire moving slowly and burning up all her insides as it traveled to the extremities of her body. Calypsa walked over to her throne and sat down. "The effects of my hypnotism cause you to not only get disoriented completely, but it causes your pain to move much slower than it would normally. Meaning you feel it for much longer." -Calypsa. Calypsa crossed her legs and then began scanning the ship for Raynon and the Hunters.

Scene 8

Mars turned a corner in the maze of crates and found a metal crate with a broken hole in the side. He ran to it and began ripping the metal pieces in his way off. Once he got in he saw brick, laying there on a wooden box filled with automatic weapons. The box was broken open and Brick was laying motionless. Jayce went up to him and checked his pulse, he couldn't get a good read, so he turned Brick's face over to him and he saw what he had feared. Brick's eyes were still wide open. He had died from the impact with the metal crate most likely breaking his neck. Jayce put his hand on Brick's chest plate and when he did a piece of the steel plating snapped off like a twig. Jayce bent down and picked it up. The steel plate had been sawed open like a giant can opener had been used on it. There was also blood on the metal. Jayce moved the ripped piece of clothes still covering Brick's chest and he saw it. Multiple punctures from the extremely large teeth of the super Lycan.

Jayce reached for his gun, but Brick's hand sprung to life and grabbed his wrist. Jayce was thrown through the hole in the crate and he hit the one across the path. As Jayce was getting up off the floor, Brick stood up and his eyes were a piercing whitish blue. His teeth grew out into fangs and his torso began to stretch out violently. Jayce got to his feet and wiped the blood off his face. "You had a family Brick! You weren't supposed to die!" -Jayce. Jayce yelled at the transforming Lycan as if it could understand him, but he knew it couldn't. As a human Brick was already large, but as a Lycan he had an even larger frame than most large Lycans. This could most likily be attributed to his being bit by the super Lycan. Jayce slowly pulled out his two revolvers, not wanted to instantly entice the Lycan into battle. The beast watched him as he pulled his guns out of the holsters and before Jayce could react brick jumped into the air. Jayce fired after him twice but missed.

The large Lycan landed atop the metal crates and he began roaring at the sky. From where he was Calypsa could see him clearly. She clapped her hands together and laughed. Jayce was climbing up the side of a metal crate to get up to where brick was. When he got to the top the Lycan slashed at the side of the crate and Jayce had to let go of the side to avoid having his hands torn off. Before the Lycan could swing with his second claw, Jayce slid his body into the hole Brick had just made with his claw. The large Lycan stuck it's head in the hole to see him but was greeted by five bullets to the face. The Lycan took his face out of the hole and scratched at his snout. The silver bullets were not very effective on him. He had multiply bullet holes in his face but none were fatal shots.

Jayce began firing up through the metal crate hitting the Lycan in the feet and legs as he stood directly above Jayce. The Lycan jumped onto the hole it had made and began ripping chunks out of the crate so he could fit his body in. Jayce finished reloading his first gun and instead of shooting at Brick he shot the spot on the crate where the lock would be and he pushed the door open and jumped out. The large Lycan ripped his way into the crate and then followed Jayce out of the door. He jumped to the opposite crate and stuck his claws into the metal to stay hanging perpendicular to the floor. The Lycan didn't see Jayce anywhere so it sniffed the air. Before the Lycan could pick up his scent Jayce opened the door of the crate beneath the one the Lycan was hanging on and he fired up at him five times. The Lycan fell off the crate after all five shots had impacted him. Jayce rolled to the side to get out of the crate and stay clear of the falling Lycan.

Jayce began walking away with his back facing the Lycan and he was reloading his gun. The Lycan was healing from the bullets and he was getting up and recovering his strength. When Jayce finished reloading his gun he holstered it and turn halfway towards the Lycan. He then reached behind him and pulled out the oversized revolver he had tucked into his belt. He pointed it in the direction of the Lycan and the beast began running towards him. Jayce pulled the hammer back and pulled the trigger. The bullet released from the barrel of the gun with a burst of fire. It hit brick on the right shoulder and on impact the bullet exploded with the force of a frag grenade. The blast knocked the Lycan back and caused his right arm to fly across the boat. Jayce held the gun out as the smoking barrel began to cool down and lose it's orange glow. The Lycan roared in pain as it grabbed for it's missing arm trying to stop the blood loss. Jayce took some steps closer to the beast that was once Brick his teammate. The Lycan started trying to crawl towards him to finish the job it started.

Jayce raised the revolver and pulled the hammer back again. The wheel turned like clockwork and the next explosive round was ready. Jayce fired the shot and it passed through the front of the Lycan's skull and did not blow up until it hit the back of his skull. Brick's head and brains scattered all over the area in a forty foot radius. Everything from the collar bone and up had been blown clean off of his body. The smoking corpse dropped to the floor and Jayce lowered the gun. "Two in one day and it's not even quitting time yet." -Jayce. It was barely turning evening and the sun was halfway through it's descent behind the earth. When the gun was done smoking Jayce put it back into his belt. He made sure the weapons strapped to his back were tightly fastened, the sword and the rifle. When he did that he felt the cold steel of his armor, armor that once kept all of the silver ranks safe from the teeth and claws of Lycans and the strength of Vampires. Now it was nothing more than a fashion statement if it was ineffective against their enemies. Jayce collected his wits and went looking for the other helpers on the freighter.

Scene 9

Eve got to her yacht from the water and climbed up the side. She was dripping wet and her clothes was trashed. She hadn't really changed out of her white outfit much recently and the wear and tear was showing. Eve was furious about what happened on the freighter, but without her powers she would only get killed easily and miss out on her chance of domination. She walked to her cabin with heavy feet and ripped her clothes off. Once inside her room she began opening all the drawers and collecting all the clothes that was saved there. She threw it out on the floor and then organized it all by what she would wear and what was hideous to her. When she was done she opened the window and tossed the undesirable clothes out the window. Eve got into a pair of blue denim jeans and a button down white shirt which she didn't tuck into her jeans. Eve sat down at a vanity mirror in the room and looked at herself. She was still wet and had perfect skin. She put her hand on her neck where she thought Raynon had done it earlier but it did nothing to her.

Eve then hit the mirror and cracked it. She then got up and left the room to go up to the observation part of the yacht. There was a pair of binoculars here and she sat down in a lounge chair and looked at all the things going on in the city. Behind her she could still hear a large force fighting in the streets, but closer to the freighter actually seemed very inactive. Most likely because she went through and killed many of the soldiers for them. She then moved her gaze to the freighter which was still a battle ground but due to the large piles of crates she couldn't see what was happening. She moved on to the second freighter which was still sitting out in the water immobilized. There was no activity on top of that boat at all. As Eve sat on top of the yacht a loud boom echoed through the streets of Krystal City. Eve stood up to try and see if their was any evidence of what made the loud noise but there was nothing.

Scene 10

The gold rank Hunter pulled the bolt back on his human sized sniper rifle. He was kneeling in the center of the street far from any danger. The shot he had fired could be traced by the streak it left in the air. The bullet had passed through the bodies of two Lycan's and ripped open their bodies down to the bones. He lifted his eye from the scope and smiled. Behind him were his teammates and leader, Sorbo. "So this is what all the fuss was about. Doesn't seem like much to me." -Sorbo. The Russian spoke with a heavy accent. "You have to remember they are only humans." -Russian. Sorbo nodded in agreement. "You're right Vlad, I always forget how petty non gold ranks can be in situations like this. Well Cinda, Vlad lets go. Thompson do what you do." -Sorbo. Sorbo began walking down the street, the Asian woman, Cinda and the Russian, Vlad followed him. "You see if our driver hadn't ditched us we could have arrived much sooner." -Sorbo. Cinda spoke with a heavy Japanese accent. "You shouldn't be so hard on him, if memory serves he was the only one qualified to lead the secondary team and he did it alone." -Cinda. "That was years ago." -Sorbo. "And so were the indiscretions that happened between you two. Leave it in the past or you will never find peace." -Cinda.

Sorbo laughed. "I will let it go once he admits he was wrong." -Sorbo. Cinda sighed, even after years of working with Sorbo as her captain he was still just as hardheaded as then. Once they got close to the battle the gold rank Hunters could see the barricade the Hunters and officers had made to stop the advance of the Lycan soldiers. As they looked around the area, another loud bang echoed through the street and a bullet soared passed the gold rank Hunters and hit something behind the smoke. There was a sound before something dropped from the side of the building. The streak of air that the bullet traveled was only inches from Sorbo and Cinda but it didn't bother them. Thompson had always pushed himself and tried for harder to make shots. It's also important to mention that he doesn't fire unless he plans for the bullet to pass through two or more targets. Otherwise it would just be a waste of his ammo. When the people holding the barricade saw the gold rank Hunters they were all relieved. All except Lady who was still here lowering the number of Lycan soldiers.

Lady had a glare on her face as the gold ranks made their way to the barricade. Like if there was no army of Lycans on the other side Sorbo just jumped over the barricade and casually walked into the battle, he had yet to draw a weapon. All the Lycan soldiers noticed him and were changing their aim when the high pitched sound of Vlad's Gatling guns tore through the air and then tore through their bodies. The cars were no protection from his heavy gun fire and even the UV bullets successfully ripped the Lycans apart. A few survived the first barrage of bullets. They waited until Vlad stopped firing to peak out but it was not their opening. Cinda sliced the top of a Lycan soldier's skull off and the stabbed the other with her left katana held backwards. The last Lycan soldier turned to face Cinda and opened fire. She jumped over the car and got behind it. Before the Lycan soldier had time to notice Sorbo had walked up to him. Sorbo grabbed the gun and pushed it back into the Lycan's face, then he pulled the Lycan to him and grabbed the man's neck and cracked his neck by twisting his head all the way around like an owl. The other Hunters watching were grossed out by the disfigured corpse that tried to speak even while dead.

Sorbo wiped the saliva off his arm guards and looked disgusted. "You could have just shot him." -Cinda. "I don't tell you how to kill, don't try and tell me." -Sorbo. The three then began walking further down the street to clear out the rest of the vermin. The Hunters and officers left behind at the barricade were dumbfounded, they had been here holding these Lycans off for hours. As the gold ranks went deeper into the street they bickered about unimportant things while killing the Lycan soldiers. Not very many people make it as a Hunter even less ever move up in rank. Those that do, don't always get very far. Silver rank is the highest any normal human can ever strive to be. The reason is not because there can only be four. No, it is because to be a gold rank Hunter one must first prove themselves through all four ranks and then be a silver rank leader and prove themselves there and lastly and most important. A gold rank must actually enjoy killing. It is a dangerous road to go down to try and make it into the gold rank level. Many silver rank captains find themselves becoming mass murders or having psychotic breaks while trying to obtain the required one thousand kills.

For Sorbo specifically it is said that he did not receive all of his kills fairly and that he often murdered other Hunters after raids to take credit for every kill. However, this doesn't mean he is not deserving of the title, Greatest Hunter in the World. Of all his teammates he craves murder the most and that makes him special. He will chase any target to any length and get the job done. Even the original Hybrid Michael fell to Sorbo's unrelenting Hunting tactics. The others were only a few steps behind Sorbo in cruelty and although Cinda talks of peace and balance, she too craves blood at the end of her swords. The gold rank Hunters made short work of all the Lycans blocking the exit to the street. They then went through and began marking their kills of which there were many. Lady ran up behind Sorbo. "Aren't you going to go to the boat? That's where these soldiers are coming from." -Lady. Sorbo was marking a Lycan on the neck when she was speaking to him. "Listen little Lady, there ain't no more soldiers over there, I can smell the death from here that beach stinks of bodies and it's lycan blood for sure." -Sorbo. "What about the cannons?" -Lady. "That's not our concern we didn't come here to solve your national problems or whatever. We are here to kill the new Hybrid. So why don't you reload your guns and go do your job away from here." -Sorbo.

Lady was disgusted with the gold rank Hunters. All they care about is racking up kills. She ran passed them and headed for the long street that leads to the freighter. When she got close enough to the beach, Lady could see that Sorbo was right. There were bodies of Lycan soldiers littering the sand on the beach. All sorts of birds had gathered and were pecking at the corpses. Many of the bodies were horribly dismembered and Lady recognized the signature as the work of the same creature that attacked the Hunter bar, the Hybrid. She took out her phone and called the Commander, the call failed, she called each one of her teammates and only the Rookie answered. According to him he had moved to the destroyed street and was helping evacuate people that were stuck in the buildings. Lady went ahead to the freighter by herself.

Scene 11

After watching from her window as Jayce blew Brick to bits while in Lycan form she was astounded. She couldn't think of what to say and so she reached for her earpiece and call out to Raynon. She called out multiple times, but he didn't answer. "Typical, I have to do everything myself." -Calypsa. The queen grabbed her intercom microphone and spoke into it. "Pull the ship out of dock now and someone find Raynon or what's left of him!" -Calypsa. Everyone could hear her on the intercom even Jayce and the others. They had found a door leading inside the freighter and they were about to take it. Jayce found the door too late and the Hunters and officers went in without him. As Jayce rested for a moment outside the door he heard the sound of scratching metal. He rolled away just in time to miss being squashed by a large chain with an anchor on the end. The super Lycan was hanging off the side of the ship and he had collected this anchor from another smaller boat.

As he jumped onto the boat the giant Lycan began shrinking down and turned into his human form. He still held the giant chain in his hand though. "You know you can't stop me alone Hunter, give up. Don't die for nothing like your friend did." -Raynon. Jayce drew both of his guns and fired into Raynon's chest six times. While he was shooting Jayce ran into the second door next to the one the others had gone into he shut the door behind him and tuned the large wheel to seal it shut. Raynon was just standing there on the boat while his body healed from the bullets. One of the bullets got stuck in his throat and Raynon had to cough it up to get it out. "Ugh, what is it with Hunters these days, so damn righteous." -Raynon. He walked over to the door and ripped it off the wall with his Lycan strength. He took a step forwards and then heard a click. He looked down and got blasted out of the doorway by a string activated trap Jayce had set up. Raynon had to wait for his injured legs to heal now.

Jayce was running up the stair case to the top room, all the other doors had been sealed of. He was close to the top when the super Lycan came into the small stair way. He barely fit and was not able to properly climb up fast. Jayce fired down at him a few times trying to hit his claws to cause him to fall. When Jayce reached the room on top he opened the door and closed it behind him. Inside he saw Queen Calypsa sitting on her throne and Selene with a weapon stabbed through her pinning her to the floor. Jayce ran passed the queen to Selene. Calypsa didn't bother to move at all. She wasn't even the least bit concerned by Jayce's appearance here. Jayce pulled the naginata out of Selene's back and turned her over. Selene's eyes were vacant and unfocused. Raynon could be heard breaking the stairs as he climbed up. "I think you have some unfinished business." -Calypsa.

Jayce pulled out his gun and pointed it at Calypsa, she didn't even flinch. But then as the sound of the super Lycan got closer, Jayce pointed his gun at the glass window. "Oh no." -Calypsa. Jayce shot the window twice making two separate holes. Calypsa got up out of her throne and was running towards the door. Jayce picked up Selene and ran towards the sun glass window and he tackled it with his shoulder. As he crashed through the glass window, Calypsa threw open the door and pushed Raynon out of her way to jump down into the staircase. When the glass shattered sunlight filled the entire room and even leaked out into the staircase a little. Calypsa landed on the second level down and was glaring at Raynon. "Fix this, or I will replace you!" -Calypsa. Jayce and Selene fell from the top of the boat down. Jayce turned over in the air so that Selene's body would hit first. Then he held onto her waist and put his face into her stomach. When they hit the metal crate they broke through the top and landed on a few wooden boxes inside the crate, just like brick had. But unlike brick Jayce had used Selene's soft body to break his fall. He just hoped she wouldn't remember this moment when she woke up.

Jayce lifted her up over his shoulder and got out of the metal crate. He went to the edge of the boat and put Selene on the railing. He looked to the large cannon and pulled out his large revolver. He saw four main support tracks that kept the large cannon up and pointing out of the ship. Jayce Fire three explosive shots at the tracks and the last one snapped off from the weight of the cannon. Then the large weapon plummeted to the bottom of the freighter with a loud crash. Jayce picked up Selene and kissed his gun, then put it back in his belt. He stepped on the railing of the boat and jumped off. He hit the water and held onto Selene while he swam for the beach. As he swam away the freighter began to move out of the docks slowly. By the time he reached the sandy beach and dragged Selene onto land the boat was well into the sea. Then as if only to mock his efforts and Brick's sacrifice the second freighter began to move towards the docks. Jayce ran his hands through his hair and laid back on the sand. "Goddammit!" -Jayce.
