After a few more minutes of silent walking, they came to a very cubic looking building. It was massive, spreading across the valley. People with red hair were patrolling the grounds with long spears and cutlasses over their shoulders.
"Strange..." Harry said, "I can't see any men."
"That's because only one male is born every hundred years." Link explained in a low voice, "That man then becomes the leader of the Gerudos."
"Oh, OK." Ron nodded.
"Link?" Came a gasp and they looked around to see a woman stood at the top of some steps. She had a red ponytail and her garments were a little more adorned than the others.
"Nabooru!" Link smiled, "Hello!" He held up a hand in greeting and walked up to her.
SMACK! He stumbled backwards, holding the left side of his face and with a very taken-aback expression, "What was that for?!"
"You think that you can just waltz back in here like nothing happened?!" Nabooru screamed at him.
"Woah! What are you on about?!"
"You apparently 'died'! Do you know how hard that was for Zelda?! She wouldn't stop crying for months!"
"Look - it's a very long story."
Naia giggled, "Hey Ron! It looks like your family reunion!" She darted behind Hermione, who was smiling on the inside, but on the outside was looking at her disapprovingly.
As Ron shouted at the fairy, Nabooru sighed to Link, "Anyway... You wouldn't have come all the way out here for nothing... So... Cough it up; what do you want with the Gerudo?"
"Well..." Link followed her as she started to stride through the fortress, "You might have already noticed, but those three kids aren't from around here." He said in an undertone, watching Harry and Hermione laugh at Ron Naia in the distance.
"Yes, I have."
"Then... You'll may have already guessed, by the wands that they are carrying, that we are here for a certain something you may have stolen from the Gorons."
"Ugh!" Nabooru spat in disgust at him, "You strut on into my fortress, uninvited and working for the Gorons?! What else do you want, a grand return feast?! I think not!" She flicked her red ponytail and huffed through her nose, her head high as she turned a corner.
Link trotted to catch up to her sudden fast strides, laughing nervously, "I don't work for the Gorons! I just need that wand so that those three children can get back home! And so that I can save Zelda again, of course."
Nabooru halted, her eyes wide and fiery as she looked down on Link. The Hero of Time shrunk back a little in that glare.
"She's captured?!" The desert dweller spat, "AGAIN?!"
"W-well-"
"Please don't tell me you watched it happen."
"To be fair, I DID try to-"
"YOU LET HER GET CAPTURED?!" Nabooru burst out, causing Link to jump and back into a wall, "YOU LET ALL MY HARD WORK GO TO WASTE?!"
"Not-not just your work, Naboo-"
"DON'T YOU EVEN TRY!"
"Look-"
"YOU LET HER-"
"NABOORU!" Link bellowed.
She stopped immediately, suddenly looking a little sheepish. He had never shouted at her before, not even raised his voice.
"Look." He continued, his voice shaking a little, "Do you really think that I just STOOD there and watched her get taken? You think I didn't try to stop them? You think I didn't put my life on the line to save her? I don't know what they did to me, but some green light flashed and I blacked out. There was nothing I can do but if you just give me that wand, then I'll be able to do something about it." Nabooru frowned then lowered her head, muttering something inaudible.
"What's that?"
She looked back up at him and huffed, "We don't have it."
"You don't what?"
"We lost the damn wand!"
"TO WHO?!"
"This guy in a unitard!"
"A guy in a-" Link stopped, his eyes wide, then said slowly, "Ghirahim."
"I told you so!" Naia exclaimed, but then looked down, shamed. She looked up again with renewed strength, "When I get my hands on him, boy I'll, I'll...tear him limb from limb!" She said, pretending to be a boxing expert as she hooked and punched the air.
"Shush, Naia!" Link snapped, "Nabooru, do you know where he was headed? How long ago was this?"
"Look around you, boy!" Nabooru hissed, "How long ago do you think?"
"Just answer me!"
"Why, ten minutes ago! He was rambling on about how he would go back to the castle and laugh at the ruins."
"Ten minutes ago and you said nothing about it?!"
"You never asked!"
"AH!" Link yelled, "WE'RE GOING BACK TO THE CASTLE!" And with that, he spun around and stormed off.
"Uh..." Harry said awkwardly to Nabooru, "Sorry about him."
"COME ON!" Harry winced and ran after him. They had soon made it to Hyrule field and at Link's fast and angry pace, Harry was sure it would only take a few more minutes to get to the devastated castle.
"Remind me why we are here again?" Naia asked Harry.
"Um-"
"We came here to stop Ghirahim before he leaves with the wand! Farore, don't you fairies ever LISTEN?" Link hissed as they strode through the castle town.
Harry and Ron both decided to shrink back a bit behind Hermione to keep out of Link's way.
Hermione walked up to Link and said in a sympathetic voice. "Link. I know it's hard but... Please. Breathe."
"I am breathing! Look!" He took a few dramatic breaths and carried on walking at a slightly faster pace, his eyes set on the ruined gates to the castle's lawn and the single guard stood before them.
"Uh, sir, you can't go in there!" The guard said as they neared, "It's too dangerous!"
"Try me." Link snarled and he placed a firm hand on the guard's chest, giving him a quick and clean push and sending him back into the ditch behind him.
"Link!" Harry gasped, "Link, calm down, will you?"
"Yeah, mate, you're going over the top!" Ron backed his friend up."
"Again," Link's walk had the others running to keep up now, "Try me." His tone was dangerous.
Hermione rolled her eyes, looked at Naia and they both said simultaneously, " Boys."
"I will never understand them." Hermione added.
Link marched through the ruins of the castle, glaring at the arch ahead which would lead to the burnt courtyard.
A tall, skinny figure could be seen dancing about in the arch and a little victorious anthem could be heard echoing through the corridor.
Link growled and walked even faster.
Naia grabbed Harry's ear and tugged it to get his attention. "How do you think I could calm him down. I mean, he's been through a lot. What do you think I should do?"
"GHIRAHIM!" Link bellowed before Harry could answer.
The man in white clothes turned around, a bright, goading smile spread across his face, "Ah, Link! Enjoying the scenery?"
"YOU!" Link grabbed him by the neck of his unitard and slammed him against the wall, "YOU BASTA-"
He stopped short as the demon disappeared in a shower of diamonds.
"OOF!" He was pushed against the wall and he felt his nose crack as it made contact, feeling hands slip up his back and onto his shoulders.
A voice hissed into his left ear, "You want the Goddesses' Wand? Well you and your little friends are going to have to work harder for it- AH!"
The hands were whipped off his back and Link was able to turn around. Ron had the demon lord pinned to the floor.
"STAY AWAY FROM LINK!"
"Fine." Ghirahim spat, "Have fun then." and the world had started to spin.
Hermione whipped out her wand and aimed it directly at Ghirahim's head. Naia fluttered over to Link, "Are you ok?"
But Ghirahim was gone and with him, the castle.
