Chapter One

"Wake up you idiot, it time to go to work." Mike Wazowski yelled into the megaphone, like he did every morning, to wake up his best friend James. P Sullivan. And always Sulley slowly crawls out of bed, and into his morning chair for breakfast. The best friends always sat together and watched the news as they ate, to see what was heading their way for the day. As they were sitting down Mike hopped into the big chair, and the second Sulley got there, was mysteriously relocated to the smaller one to the right. They gobbled down their cereal when their favorite commercial comes on. "Working for a better tomorrow... Today. We are Monsters Incorporated. "

"Did you see that, I was on T.V!?" Mike jumped out of his seat all excited.

"Yes, I saw that, just like yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that, so on and so on." Sulley said rolling his eyes. "You don't need to get that excited every morning, because it makes it boring," Mike was already ten steps ahead and onto the next thing. He was reconfiguring the room, for James's daily workout before work. "Come on, buddy boy, I know you can do it."

"Like I even have a choice anymore," Sulley muttered under his breath as he began his exercises. Mike lead him through the daily routine and by 7:45 they were ready to start their walk to work. They grabbed their stuff and walked out the door. Like every morning Mike asked, "Can we drive today, we should have a break."

"Nope, buddy, we are walking today." James said as they marched on. When they got to work that morning, Cilia was missing from her normal stop in the main lobby. Mike started freaking out very quickly. "Where is my girl? Where is my Cilia Bedialia? Who took her? Somebody kidnaped her! Do something, now!"

Mike was running around like a maniac for around ten minutes until Cilia walked into main lobby. Mike was so relieved to see her. "Where were you? I was so worried about you!"

"Oh sweetie! You are so sweet, but you don't need to worry about me! My hair," she looked up and pets the snakes on her head. "They were a little cranky this morning, so it took a while to get out the door. Then there was so much traffic, because one monster got stuck crossing the street. But I'm here now, and you have a great day. They smiled and James and Mike strolled on towards the locker room when they get stopped again. "You didn't turn in," started a familiar voice.

"Yes Roz, I know. I was busy last night, and then I had to go to the eye doctor to see if this big thing was still functioning." Mike poked his and started to talk again. "How about this you be quite and don't remind me 50 times today about it and I will get it done by tomorrow morning."

"You better hurry, Mike Wazowski." With that Mike ran away as fast as he could with Sulley right behind him. "I had no clue how you put up with her so much."

"Really, I have gotten used to it. It was annoying at first but then I was like besides her annoying slimy little voice what could she do it me?"

"She could report you for not doing your job…"Sulley countered back.

"Watch her try!" Mike said, rolling his one big eye. "We'll be better start getting ready for the day."

"ALL SCARES ON DECK! ALL SCARES ON DECK" Mike looked up at the large speaker that made the announcement and said, "I really wish they could turn down the volume on that thing."

With that they were all getting ready for the first door to come. It was a green door, with a boy who played soccer in it. Sulley marched in the door and within a few minutes he marched right back out with a grim smile.

"You know for being the number two scarer, you sure do have a lot of confidence." An invisible voice said.

"Shut up Randall! Give me five minutes and I will be number one again." Sulley said looking for the monster. With that a purple monster appeared right in front of him and smiled. "You try."

Now with Randall on their mind Mike and Sulley cruised through door at incredible speed. A little bit after noon Mike glanced up at the clock. "Ready for a break? Let's go get some sandwiches."

They went across the street to their favorite little sandwich shop. The red monster behind the counter saw them and smiled. "The usual, boys?"
"You bet! Thank!" Sulley said sitting down in the booth. Together Mike and Sulley enjoyed a nice lunch together. After a half hour they walked back over across the street. When they got to the front door, Waterloo was standing there looking at them.
"Looks like Roz ratted you out." Sulley muttered under his breath.
"Shut up, I turned everything in before we left." Mike scowled back.

"Boys, may I have a word with you in my office please." Waterloo said, rolling his many eyes at the boys. They followed Waterloo back into his office, where Randall and his assistant, Fungus, were standing. When Mike and Sulley saw them in there, they stopped in their tracks. They knew this couldn't be good.

"Now," Waterloo starts, "Today we got a new door. The thing is, this door is special. I am not quite sure what it is about it, but when I was talking to the monster that sent it to me, he told me to 'Be very careful with it. It is extremely different. All though if you get a scream out of it, it's worth the energy of 20 doors.' We need this door, but I can't let any old monster take care of it. That is why I choose you two to come down here. I want one of you two to be assigned to this door so only you can open it. Would either of you be interested?

"Me!" Both Sulley and Randall said at the same time. They started fighting and yelling at each other until Waterloo stepped in. "Boys," he yelled, "It is an honor to know that both of you care and want this door; however, I can only have one of you have it. I am going to give it to Sulley, just because he has been with the company longer, and has shown extreme trustworthiness in the past. My apologies, Randall. You are both dismissed. Sulley the door will be at your station in 20 minutes."

Sulley and Mike left the office, and by the time they picked up the paper work for this special new door and got back to their station, the new door was already sitting there. "I don't know what is so special about this door," Mike said flipping through the paperwork, "It looks ordinary. A boy named Dash Parr, and lives in a family of five. Got first on his track team last year. Oh well, there is clearly something interesting about this door, or Waterloo wouldn't have sent it to us. Go get them big guy, but if there is any trouble come out right away."

With that, Sulley open the door and nodded at Mike. He shut the door behind him. It looked to him like an ordinary child's room. He saw the child in his bed, but the next thing he knew he was out of bed and running around his room, at least at 100 miles per hour. Sulley just stood there is shock. He couldn't take a risk at this point. He had to get out of there. He ran for the door, and when he got out he slammed it behind him.

As he was trying to catch his breath he looked down at Mike and said, "There is definitely something different about that room."
