Chapter 2

"Dad, Dad! You'll never believe what I saw last night." Dash Parr said the following morning as he buzzed around the kitchen about to get ready for school.

"Umm, I don't know. A squirrel outside your window?" Robert Parr said as he way trying to get out the door for work. Dash rolled his eyes and laughed. He reached for the cereal and started to tell the story. "No, so I was falling asleep and it was about 11:00 and I heard a noise coming from the door. I figured it was probably just you or mom roaming around, but then I heard the door slowly open. When I looked up there was a large blue bear looking thing moving closer to my bed. I didn't really want to see what it looked like so I chased it out of my room pretty fast. It went through the door, but the weird thing was when I then reopened the door it was just our hall and the monster was gone. "

"Oh knock it off! You don't need to make more trouble. We need to just have a simple life and stop causing more drama than a normal family needs. Just because we happen to have super powers doesn't mean we have to go off finding excuses to use them. "Helen Parr said as she sat down with a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

As Bob picked up his briefcase he said one last thing before he left. "Look, I don't know for fact that Dash isn't telling the truth. I'll looks into it today, but until then I don't want any more discussion about this thing. I'll see all of you tonight. "He closed the door behind him and a little bit after the kids went on with their day, and everything was normal.

That evening, after work, Bob went to talk Frozone about Dash's descriptions about what he supposedly found. He gave as detailed of a description as he could of the creature but it was challenging to describe of the small amount of description Dash gave. "Have you heard of this before?"

"Well, I don't know anything about the blue bear looking thing, but I do remember reading something a while back about a different looking monster like thing that experienced the same thing with the door. It is really confusing, but let me see if I can find something on it." Frozone flipped through a few stacks of newspaper articles he had keep over the years. He pulled up one and smiled. "I knew I had something on this stuff."

He handed Bob the article and they read.

Monster in the Closet?

Recently, thirty reports have come out of different parts of the world, of children experiencing "monsters" in their room. Now many children imagine having seeing monsters in their room, which is only caused of their fear of them. But the odd thing about these reports is they are all similar in many ways. They are all described as the monsters creeping up to the child in their sleep, and scare them. Once the children scream the monster runs away through the front door quickly. One boy from Austria claims he saw one, "It looked like a large purple salamander. He wasn't there very long. It was really odd."

Then when the children go to find the monster past their room, there is no sign of it anywhere. Now do these monsters really exist? Probably not. But we should give them a run for their money. They are coming up a lot, so who really knows?

"This is it! Dash isn't the type of kid who would make this type of stuff up. He was really concerned about it this morning. With most of the detailed lining up from this article, and from Dashes explanation there has to be some sort of thing coming through the door. I'm going to go home and see what the family thinks about all this and I will call you soon. Thanks for all the help!" Bob said when he was done reading the article. He packed it up in his briefcase and started to head out the door.

"No problem! Let me know if you need anything else." Frozone said as he closed the door behind Mr. Incredible. As he left the house he thought if this could really be real. What he over reacting? Was he just worried about Dash? But what if was really there?

When he got home, he called a meeting with Dash. He sat him down and showed Dash the article. "Does this sound anything like what you saw?"

"Dad, this is it! I swear, I am not making anything up! This is really accurate! The only difference between this and what happened to me, is the monster didn't try to scare me, because I kind of beat him to it. I mean it's not like every kid can run around there room at my speed. "

"Alright, well if that is the case, not only as a superhero whose job it is to protect the world from this sort of thing, but also as a concerned father, it's my job to stop this type of thing." That night at dinner Bob made an announcement to the family about what was going to happen that night. " I talked to Frozone and tonight him and I are going to camp out in Dash's room every night until this thing comes back. Chances are if it has been here once, it will come back soon. Dash you'll be sleeping on the couch for the time being."

"But th-"Dash started to complain, but was interrupted by a knock on the door. Then stepped in Frozone with a large crate.

"What on earth is that?" Helen said what she saw the huge crate. Frozone just laughed, and then finally said, "We will need somewhere to put this thing." With that Frozone and Mr. Incredible walked into Dash's room and shut the door behind them.

"I swear! I have never seen a child like that before." Sulley explained the next day at work to Waterloo. "He was really fast. I closed the door behind me, and he opened his eyes and popped right out of bed. Then he started to run around the room at incredible speeds. It was unhuman. "

Waterloo just stood there and shook his head in disbelief. It wasn't that he doubted one of his best scarers. He was just really concerned who this kid could be. "I'm sorry I asked you to go through that door yesterday. When I was going to assign it a scarer, I really didn't know whether to put you or Randall in the room. I am going to ask Randall to go in the room today, just so I can see what he thinks of it. If it is too much for both of you, I will have it destroyed, but that would be a horrible solution. Good day to you Sulley."

Waterloo then walked off to find Randall, and tell him that he would be assigned the door for the day. When Randall found out he was extremely excited. This would be his time to prove himself against Sulley. Show everyone he was better than him and could take on this child when Sulley couldn't. When he met up with Fungus that morning, he told him to go to Roz immediately and get the paperwork for that door. When everything was set in place, Randall was ready to show everybody. Mike and Sulley took time off to watch this, as well as Waterloo. Fungus slid the card into place and the door came out and slid into place. Randall grabbed the door handle and smiled. He was ready for this. He did have to admit that if this scared Sulley, it must be something good inside. He opened to door and stepped inside, closing the door behind him.

"Aha! I knew you would come back." When Sulley heard this, it put a put a confused look on his face. That was not the voice he heard from the room this room yesterday. This time it sounded deeper, like a man's voice.

"Do you see him, Frozone?" Mr. Incredible said searching the room, for a monster, that just seconds ago was there.

"NO! Where on earth could he have gone?" Frozone replied, also franticly looking around the room. From the other side of the door, the monsters were concerned about what was going on.

"I don't have a good feeling about this. Randall might be in trouble. I have to go in. "Waterloo said, reaching for the door handle. Sulley reached his shoulder and pulled him back. "You can't, it sounds way too dangerous in there. "

At the same time, from the other side of the door, Mr. Incredible found Randall and grabbed him. With a little bit of struggle he forced him into the crate.

"I have him locked inside the crate," Mr. Incredible said. Frozone looked at the weird monster and smiled. "Nice job, my friend."

With that, they high fived one and other and walked about of the room with the crated monster. After the door was shut, Sulley and Waterloo rushed in and looked franticly for Randall, but there was no sign of him. From the other side of the door, Mike stood smiling. He knew it was wrong, but something was finally too much for the big Randall. Unfortunately at the same time, he knew they would know have to embark on a journey to find Randall.

When Waterloo came back from Dash's room he saw many monsters staring at him. He looked at them and made the announcement. "Randall has been kidnaped."
