Powers
(Renesmee's POV)
I looked upon my new baby sister as she curled up in Momma's arms. I couldn't believe it. I have a little sister now. As much as I love Lily like a sister and Aidan as a brother, I had my very own sister.
"She looks so much like Elizabeth," Grandpa Carlisle mentioned, being the only one besides my daddy to see my grandmother. "Right down to the green eyes and hair."
"She does," Daddy said, half smiling. "Of what I can remember."
"Did Daddy's eyes look like that when he was human?" I asked. I was sitting on his lap while Lizzy was wrapped up in Momma's arms.
"Yeah, they actually did," My grandfather confirmed, smiling warmly at me.
"She has your nose though, Bella. Same nose as Renesmee," Grandpa Esme added dotingly.
"You think so?" Momma mused. "I think she has a bit of Renee in her. In the features."
Right off the bat, Lizzy has thick bronze curls like me. The biggest difference is she has these bright green eyes. They're like shinning emeralds. We both have very similar faces, but there were of course things that separated us. You could tell we were sisters though. No doubt about that.
"Well, she's a very beautiful little girl," Aunt Rose announced fondly.
It has been a few hours since Lizzy was born and everyone was now settled in the living room observing her. I think it was a little bit of awe for a new baby in our family, but at the same time we had no clue what Lizzy exactly was. We weren't sure what to expect when it came to my new baby sister.
So far though Grandpa has noted her growth seems a bit slower than mine yet it's faster than a human's. Besides that we tried giving her human food, but she only seemed to like blood. Grandpa thinks it's because she was born from two vampires so she has no human genetics within her.
All in all, we are pretty unsure of Elizabelle's kind will be. So far she looks like an innocent little baby who was mindlessly playing with my mother's wedding ring at the moment. We only knew a few facts from Aunt Alice and Uncle Jasper, but those were from a legend so to say they're accurate would be a stretch.
She's a miracle.
"I say we should start more investigating about Lizzy's kind soon. The more information we get, the better," Grandpa Carlisle announced to the family.
"Jasper and I can do some investigating with the tribe we met last time. I am pretty sure we'll figure it out," Aunt Alice chirped. "There's a legend. We just need to find the right one and base our new findings on that."
"In the meantime we'll just observe her until we can figure her kind out," Daddy said, turning his attention back at Lizzy. I noticed his eyebrows furrowed together while he looked at my little sister.
"What is it Edward?" Momma asked him, noticing there was something wrong.
"I can't believe it took me this long to notice this," Daddy whispered in awe. "I...I can't read her mind. It's blank." My head turns to look at Lizzy. The baby in my mother's arms was grinning ear to ear now...Something tells me this baby is smarter than we give her credit.
"So she's like Aunt Bella?" Aidan questioned curiously.
"She might just be like your aunt," Grandpa Carlisle agreed, his eyes falling back at my sister.
"Hi Nessie!" I jumped in surprise, causing my family to look at me strange. What was that?
"What's the matter, baby?" Momma asked me, but I ignored her. I was too focused on my little sister right now.
"Nessie! It's me. It's Lizzy!" I frowned. Without any hesitation I then reach over towards my sister, placing my hand on her arm.
"Ness...What are you doing?" Jake asked me, but I ignored him too.
"Did you just do that?" I asked her via my power.
"Yeah, I can read what your thinking too. In fact I can read everyone's mind in this room. I am shielding my mind and yours now."
I look at my sister in amazement. She was only a few hours old yet she seemed extremely smart and talented.
"Renesmee, I can't read your mind anymore. What's going on?" Daddy asked in concern.
"I know her powers," I said in awe. My gaze never left my sister.
"Powers?" Uncle Jasper questioned in disbelief.
"She can send people messages through her mind and reads them. Plus she can shield minds," I told them in amazement.
"But she's only a few hours old, heck- not even a day," Uncle Emmett pointed out incredulously.
"She might be more powerful than we thought," Grandpa mused. "Extremely powerful..."
"And intelligent. Vastly," Aunt Rosalie also added.
"Elizabelle...Can you maybe lower your shield for me. I'm not sure if you can yet," Daddy said to my little sister.
I observe my father, watching his facial features and Lizzy's. The concentration on his face suddenly leaves and is replaced with a warm smile. He then leans over and kisses my sister on the forehead.
"Can you try on Momma now?" He asked Lizzy. She gives him a tiny nod before she then turned to face my mother. Momma, who clearly doesn't know what's going on, looks back at my little sister. In a few moments, I watched Momma's face look at her youngest daughter in shock.
"She just told me she loved me," Momma explained to everyone, smiling down at Lizzy. My little sister gave her a bright grin, causing Momma to plant a knew on her forehead.
"She's talented for sure." Lily grinned.
"Does this mean she beats me in the power department?" Aidan grumbled, a bit jealous.
"Aide your power rocks too, you have telekinesis. You can move things without moving a muscle! How is that not cool!?" I exclaimed, trying to cheer my cousin up. I could tell this made him feel better by the smile on his face. We then look back at Lizzy, wondering what else she could possibly possess.
"Wait...So does this also mean we have to worry about two people listening in on our thoughts?" Uncle Emmett mumbled dryly.
"Yep!" Aunt Alice sung as almost everyone in the family groaned except for Daddy, Lizzy, and Momma. The only ones who have the most privacy in this family.
"It's like she has Bella, Edward, and Renesmee's abilities," Grandpa pointed out.
"Yeah," Daddy muttered. "Maybe that's something that comes with the species. She inherits our powers."
Lizzy then yawns and curls up on momma's lap; letting her little eyelids close. It doesn't take very long, but soon she's snoring away.
"It looks like she sleeps," Grandpa murmured.
"We need to find out about her kind fast," Momma mentioned. "Hopefully we can get some idea."
"Jasper and I'll head out tomorrow," Aunt Alice announced. "We'll find whatever we can about her kind."
"I think it would be best if we try to keep Lizzy a secret until she is grown. Maybe by then she can pass of for a vampire," Grandma suggested.
"Don't need the Volturi coming by anytime soon," Uncle Emmett added.
I shivered at the mention of their name. The people who tried to take me away from my family. I know they'll be back for us one day. I just don't know when. I mean, they wanted other members of my family.
"We really don't. Who knows how they'll react to Elizabelle," Momma said, worry laced in her voice. "We don't know what she's capable of."
"Don't worry, love. They won't come," Daddy said in reassuringly, rubbing her arms.
"Well anyway whoever is a kid, it's bed time," Aunt Rosalie announced, looking at the clock on the wall. I could tell she didn't want any of us talking or even hearing anything about the Volturi.
"Aw Mom! Five more minutes," Aidan whined pleadingly at Aunt Rose. He seemed to try to form a puppy dog pout, but it only made my aunt chuckle.
"No, she's right Aide. Time for bed," Momma said, looking towards me. I immediately frowned.
"Momma," I groaned.
"Bed baby, it's late," Momma chided.
"Fine." I sighed.
Lily, who clearly had something on her mind, waddled over to my aunt. She then batted her little blue eyes at her and flashed a big smile. "Momma, can Nessie sleep with me tonight? Like a sleepover?" Lily asked innocently.
"Why don't you ask your cousin first." Aunt Rosalie chuckled, rubbing her shoulders. Lily then came over to me giving me a toothy grin.
"Want to have a sleepover with me tonight?" Lily asked.
I laughed. "Sure Lil," I said, smoothing out her blonde hair.
"This still means you girls go to bed now. Still think of it as a sleepover though," Aunt Rose said.
"Alright," We both agreed, grinning at each other.
"I wanna sleepover too!" Aidan pouted. Uncle Emmett chuckled as he scooped Aidan up.
"Why don't you leave the girls alone, Aide," he said. "The boys can hang out instead."
"Fine, Daddy." Aidan huffed while Uncle Emmett carried him upstairs.
"Come on Lily, I'll read you a bedtime story tonight," I told her as I take her small hand in mine.
"Okay!" She agreed enthusiastically. While she says goodnight to my aunt, I pranced over to my parents, Jacob, and Lizzy to do the same.
"Night Jakey, see you tomorrow," I told my wolf.
"See ya Ness." He chuckled, kissing the top of my head. "Congrats on the little sis."
"Thanks," I replied, smiling ear to ear.
I then head towards my parents. "Night Momma. Night Daddy. I love you," I said. My parents both plant kisses on my foreheads in response.
"Love you too, baby," Momma said softly.
I then turn to my little sister. She was snoring softly in momma's arms. "Night Lizzy. I love you you too," I whispered as I go to kiss the top of her tiny baby head.
"We'll stay here tonight angel. So if you need us we'll be up in my old room," Daddy told me. "Okay?"
"Okay," I replied tiredly as I then take Lily's hand up and head up to her bedroom with her.
