Information Takes a Turn

(Edward's POV)

Alice and Jasper have been gone for a week and they are supposed to come back today. We just got a call from my pix of a sister that they would be arriving sometime today. I'm really glad that they'll be home soon. The house has been very quiet since they left. It's almost like the last time when they went to South America to search for clues about Renesmee's kind.

Elizabelle has grown slightly faster than a normal human baby, yet slower than a hybrid. She only seems to like blood as well and repels any sort of human food. She's unlike hybrids in that aspect. Although she does sleep, she has normal colored eyes, blood rushing through her veins, a beating heart, and she blushes. Her temperature is almost as cool as a normal vampire's, but it is a little warmer. Yes, she's the child of two vampires, two undead creatures- but our daughter wasn't technically dead. So I guess that explained it.

I looked to see Renesmee, Lily, and Aidan waiting for Jasper and Alice. I could tell they missed their aunt and uncle a ton. They were all sitting right by the windowsill- waiting to see if they could see their aunt's famous yellow car.

"Are they here yet?" Aidan whined, his tone impatient.

"Not yet, hold your horses Aide," Lily snapped at her brother. "Just waist."

"Lillian be nice," Rosalie chided, raising her eyebrows at her young daughter.

"Sorry Momma," Lily sung, giving her mother an innocent smile.

"Daddy! Are Uncle Jasper and Aunt Alice hear yet?" I look to see Bella making her way with Lizzy in her arms grinning.

"Not yet baby," I tell her as I go to brush her bronze curls.

Even though my memories of my mother are fuzzy, I could definitely her in Lizzy. When I look at Elizabelle's eyes I see my mother, and when I look into Renesmee's I see Bella. Carlisle can confirm this about my mother though. By reading his mind I can get a better image of her face, and honestly I couldn't agree more.

Suddenly, I hear a car pull up. I grinned. This indicated Alice and Jasper have returned...but with someone or something.

Last time they came home with someone we got Lily and Aidan. Oh boy...

"They're here!" Renesmee squealed as she and her cousins go rushing out the front door to their aunt and uncle.

Lily and Renesmee grab each of Alice's legs while Aidan goes for Jasper's legs. They both seem amused by their reaction, and go to pick up their nieces and nephews.

"We missed you guys! Did you find anything?!" Lily asked eagerly.

"In fact we did...Why don't you go get the others sweetie," Alice said as the two finished greeting their nieces and nephew.

"Who's he?" Aidan asked, motioning to the new man. He had brown shaggy hair and green eyes. He was in a blue Nike t-shirt, jeans, a cap for the Red Sox, and a pair of sneakers. I noticed he only had a backpack with him.

"He's like Lizzy. Why don't we all head inside to talk," Jasper explained, patting Aidan on the top of the head.

"Alright," The children chimed. We all went into the living room after that, gathering around the stranger. I didn't want to seem rude, but we all couldn't help but stare at him.

"Everyone this is Ethan. He is just like Elizabelle," Alice explained, motioning to the brown haired boy. He gave us a weak smile and waved awkwardly. I could tell he didn't really know how to react. We were kind of putting him in the spotlight.

I looked towards Lily. She seemed to take a liking to him. Her gaze has not left this boy since he entered the house and she was pretty close by him.

"Wow, I didn't think you would find us a lead this fast, let alone an actual person of the species," Emmett mentioned.

"We didn't think we would either, but a few connections later and a quick detour to Montana, we met Ethan," Alice said, giving the boy a pat on the back.

"Can you maybe tell us about yourself or at least your kind? We would just like some more information about our daughter," Bella told him with Lizzy on her lap. I watched as my youngest daughter looked up at the man who was just like her.

Ethan nodded, "Of course. Anything you want."

"How about it all?" I asked. "If you don't mind..."

"Sure...First I should probably tell you what we're exactly called. That would make things a bit , we're known as children of the light cave. That's because we were conceived in something called a light cave. It's a magical underwater cave that has a single light come through it and onto a pool of water. We only drink blood and our growth rates are absolutely strange. You see the males grow much faster than females. I was mature by the age of five years old. I know for a fact that females stop growing at around the age of ten years old. We also can walk in the sunlight without sparkling. I guess we have sort of a shimmer, but it's something that can get past the human eye. Only something supernatural, like a vampire, could detect it."

"What about the human traits you have? Will those maybe slowly go away?" I questioned.

Ethan shrugged, "I guess you can say that. We still keep things like sleep and we still have beating hearts, but everything becomes much slower as you get older I guess you could say."

"Did you ever know anyone else like you?" Carlisle asked him curiously.

"Yes. I did know someone like me. His name was Samuel. He had a sister, Candice, and a mate, Loraine. They were very good friends of mine, but they were killed just last year. Another thing to mention about us is that we are venomous. Our venom is different from a regular vampire's because even though we're the child of two vampires, our species was created by a very powerful witch. We can turn humans into vampires because Samuel had changed Loraine and she turned out to be exactly like him. Your daughter should be the same as his sister, Candice; venomous and mature around ten," Ethan explained while observing Lizzy. I noticed his eyebrows furrow in confusion while she giggles looking at him. I smirked, noticing my daughter was trying to communicate with him via her power.

"I see she is showing off her power," I explained to the confused Ethan. He nods in response.

"Lizzy can send you messages through her mind, read minds, and she is a mental shield," Bella told the boy.

"Wow, very talented child," Ethan murmured looking at Lizzy. She giggled sending him a smile and he couldn't help but form a smile on his lips.

"Do you have any powers?" Lily interrupted with an innocent smile.

"I do. I have a physical shield and I can read emotions," Ethan answered. "Though I can only read the emotions of those in my shield. You see another thing why your daughter has so many powers is because we inherit powers from our family members we're related to. That's what I believe because my mother was a physical shield and my father could read emotions."

"Where are your parents? Do you think we can talk to them?" Carlisle asked, hearing of his parents for the first time.

I noticed Ethan's face fall immediately. Hearing those words had just brought back some of his most horrible memories. All I can see in his head is his parents followed by a young boy screaming for them as a house burns to the ground.

"They were killed by this man who claimed to be all four," He murmured.

That's when the whole room became quiet. I felt myself stiffen and pulled Renesmee tighter to my side while Bella held tight to Lizzy in her arms. Jacob stiffened and looked at Renesmee with a fearful expression. I watched as Rosalie hugged tight to Lily and Aidan while Emmett went to place his hands on her shoulders. Alice had sunk into Jasper while Carlisle held Esme tight.

"All four? Did he have black eyes and brown hair?" I asked in a whisper and he frowned in confusion.

"How do you-?"

"He attacked my eldest daughter not long ago," Bella muttered.

"His name is Lorenzo and I warn you he is lethal. He murdered both of my parents," Ethan told us, his voice pained. "He was trying to kill me but he got my parents instead."

"Ethan, if it's okay with you, can you explain to us as much as you know about your past and this man?" Esme asked hopefully.

"Sure. I was born fifteen years ago to Nora and Dylan Rider. My dad was changed in the 1940s. He was in World War II and the vampire who attacked him thought he killed him, but there was venom lingering in my dad's blood that changed him. He met my mom in the 1950s when he found my mother about to die. She was mugged and my father had a strange urge to change her- Good thing he did. They ended up falling in love and got married a year later. Fifteen years ago my parents went to South America for a honeymoon. I believe they were somewhere off the coast of Buenos Aries in Argentina. They ended up making love in the light cave. What Samuel had told me is that they only appear in mostly South America or areas of warm climate. It's unknown how they began though. They just pop up at random places and when two vampire mates are near. They normally experience this strange urge to go near it and um make love."

"Like us," Bella whispered in shock. Ethan nodded, confirming her response.

"Yes. So anyway my mother then became pregnant with me and I was born about two weeks later. Since my growth rate is much faster I was born earlier than a female would be. From there I lived a happy life with my family. We were always doing continuous research on my kind. I had met Samuel when I was two years old, physically and mentally about ten years old. Apparently Samuel had this urge that there was another one of my kind out there. Him, Candice, and Loraine ended up becoming very good family friends from then on. Then about a year later Lorenzo started to harass us. Just randomly attacking us; coming at the most random times. Lorenzo is the man who is all four. He ended up murdering my family one day when we least excepted it. He wants anyone he finds a threat dead. Lorenzo wants to be the most powerful being out there. This vampire, Joham, convinced him years ago that hybrids are a superior vampire race, so he found any hybrid a threat," Ethan explained to us.

"Joham, isn't he that guy Nauhel's dad?" Jacob questioned. Ethan nodded at him.

"He is. I have heard of his children before through others. I never met Joham and never want to. I hate him for causing Lorenzo to kill my parents. Lorenzo has it in his head that anything like hybrids or children of the light cave are dangerous," Ethan told us.

"How is he all four though?" Jacob asked. "He clearly wasn't a shape shifter like my kind."

"He isn't. His father was a child of the moon and part human. It was common for children of the moon to 'hook up' with humans. His grandparents did but the volturi ended up killing Lorenzo's father and grandparents. Lorenzo's mother was part witch and vampire, but was killed alongside her husband for associating with a child of the moon," Ethan explained.

"Is there anyway to kill him perhaps?" Jasper questioned.

"I don't know. I have just stay away from him and have been on the run since I was four years old, even if I was mentally and physically about fifteen. When my parents died I ran to Samuel and his family. They had kept me in hiding until I matured. I wanted to see the world, and I felt guilty for hiding with them for such a long time. I did visit them when I could though. They became the only family I had left. Sadly, I came to see them just last year and found them murdered in their own home. I still don't know who did it, but I have a feeling it was Lorenzo," He told us. I see a tear brim Ethan's eye, but he quickly retracted it before it could even leave his eye.

"I'm sorry to hear that," Esme said to him sincerely. "That's awful."

"It's in the past," Ethan said, trying to shrug it off. That's when I think he realized something and his eyes widened, "Oh! I almost forgot, and this is very important. I can't believe I didn't mention this in the beginning, but you may have another child if you wish."

Hearing those words I froze alongside Bella. "Another?" I questioned slowly.

"Yes, I have or should I say had a brother. His name was Lucas. My parents found out they could conceive once more without the pool inside the light cave. It gives you the ability to have another child. Just one more child and that's it. Like how Samuel's parents were able to have Candice shortly after, and how my parents had Lucas about a year later. Though I don't know what happened to my brother. I haven't heard from him since that day..." Ethan paused, trying to collect his thoughts. "Lucas was a lot like me, if you want to know for the future. The second child of the light pool is going to be exactly like your daughter. Lucas did have a power as well. He was a physical shield like my mother."

The room was quiet. I don't think anyone knew what to say anymore. After a few moments of silence, Ethan got up. "I hate to leave so soon, but I should be heading off. I have a job lined up for me in Australia and I should be boarding a plane in an hour."

"Of course. Thank you for your time," Carlisle told him, giving the guy a firm hand shake."We are very grateful for you telling all of this."

"No problem, and good luck with Lorenzo. If he's after your kids I recommend you to run and hide. He is smarter than you think. I have survived all these years because I have been in hiding and I don't stay in the same place more than once," Ethan warned us.

We all said goodbye to him as we all stayed in the living room in silence. I could tell the kids were getting worried from what Ethan just told us about Lorenzo. I didn't want them to feel this fear of the unknown. They should live their lives care free and innocent.

"Kids why don't you go with Jake to play outside. We need to have adult time," Bella suggested to the kids.

"Alright," Aidan agreed. "What do you guys think?"

"Of course! Jake's a ton of fun!" Renesmee chirped, grabbing her imprint's hand.

"I'll take Lizzy out if you want," Esme added getting up from Carlisle's lap.

"Carlisle can fill me in later, and I'll try to listen in without Lizzy knowing." My mother told me via her mind.

"Thanks," Bella said to Esme as she handed Lizzy off to her.

As the kids ran outside to play tag with Jacob it was silent in the living room.

"Should we run?" Emmett was the first of us to break the silence.

"I don't know. He hasn't bothered us in awhile. If we can hold out for maybe a few more months before the new house is ready, but if he tries to attack soon we'll leave," Carlisle said.

"That might be for the best," I agreed.

"Yeah, let's just try to hang in there for a few more months," Alice spoke up. "I'll see if I can get a vision of him. It's hard but I'll try."

"Alright, it's settled then. Until then, let's try to keep our minds at peace," Carlisle said, finishing the meeting.

Once everyone clears, Bella comes over to my side and kisses my cheek as we look out the window. Renesmee was happily playing tag with her cousins and Jake. Meanwhile, Lizzy was happily gurgling on the grass with Esme while she watched all the other kids play.

"We could have another," Bella murmured softly to me, trying to comprehend this all.

"Maybe a son this time," I said, joking with her as I tried to lighten the mood. Bella chuckled.

"It would be nice to have a son, as much as I love Renesmee and Elizabelle. You are all my world. But with Lorenzo now...this is all we needed," Bella whispered, her tone full of worry.

"I know but I won't let him touch a hair on you, Renesmee, or Lizzy. You're everything to me," I said as I cupped her face so her golden eyes are starring at mine.

"I know. I love you," Bella replied.

"I love you too," I told her. I then kiss her lips softly before we watch our daughters play without a care in the world.

Wow bet you didn't see this coming, lots of foreshadowing in there. Anyway I've mentioned this before but I'm probably not going to be updating as much as I used to. I'm not going to abandon the story it's just I have a lot going on in my life to go on the computer and update. As I said probably it's the weekends when I have free time.
