What's So Wrong About Imprinting?

(Renesmee's POV)

I watched Seth slumped down on his knees as he made eye contact with Lizzy. Somehow this whole scene was all to familiar. All I could think of was Jacob. His brown eyes starring back at me as he slumped in the same position as Seth currently was.

I looked around at my family. Either they had shocked faces or they seem really confused. Jacob looked really nervous. Meanwhile, my mother held Lizzy tight to her while Daddy just stood there looking at Seth. I couldn't tell if he was really mad or just upset.

I wanted an answer and fast. Nothing was making any sense!

"What's going on?" I questioned, demanding to get an answer.

"Someone say something!" Lily added.

"Oh no- Seth!" Jacob cried out, placing a hand on Seth's shoulder. Seth then jolted up and broke eye contact with my sister. Without wasting another second he backed away from Lizzy, his eyes still watching her though. "How could you? Why? How?"

"Like I have a choice Jake!" Seth growled at Jake. I looked at Seth with wide eyes. I've never seen him get aggressive like that before. Seth then turned to my parents, who both looked shocked right now. "Bella...Edward- I swear, it's involuntary! I didn't mean it! Or I did- I just! Ugh! You know what I mean!"

"What's involuntary?" Lilly asked curiously, looking around for some answers.

"I'm confused," Aidan added.

"Did Seth do what I think he just did?" My mom asked quietly. I think she knew what just happened, but she was so shock she needed conformation. Her topaz eyes meet my father's. His are filled with shock as well. He's still in the same place he was since the incident occurred.

"Yes, he did," Daddy answered, his voice was hard.

"Guys, let's just calm down before this gets ugly like last time," Jacob spoke up calmly. Last time? What was Jakey talking about? He was acting like he was trying to keep peace or something. But why?

Jacob then looked my mother and father both in the eyes. "Seth didn't choose this. I understand, it's not something you want to happen. But before you both go berserk, just know he's still a kid. He's a good one. You know he isn't going to do anything to harm her, he's just going to be her best friend or whatever she needs. You two know that better than anyone else. He's just going to be her protector."

"What's going on?" I demand in frustration, failing my arms up in the air. "Someone, please say something!"

"Ness look- Seth just imprinted on your little sister," Jacob explained to me gently.

"You did what!" I shrieked, looking at Seth who seemed a bit ashamed. I don't know why I shrieked. I guess I was kind of surprised. My sister? Imprinting? It didn't seem real.

"It's involuntary, I am sorry!" Seth cried out. He kept on apologizing, "You know I'm not going to harm her in anyway, I'll just be her protector or friend. Whatever she wants me to be I'll be it. I promise! All I want to do is keep her safe!"

"Seth," My mother finally said something. She looked a bit better than before. "It's fine...We understand. It's okay. W'ere not going to hurt you. We never would. This isn't like last time."

"So you're not angry?" Seth asked in a tiny voice.

"Seth, we aren't angry," Daddy spoke up. "We're just shocked, that's all. This is the second time it's happened."

"Right," Seth said, nodding his head slowly.

I turned my head towards Lizzy. I couldn't help but notice ever since she made eye contact with him, she couldn't stop looking at him.

Lizzy then held her arms out for Seth. Everyone was silent while Seth looked at my parents for some sort of approval almost. My mother and father nodded as Momma placed Lizzy in Seth's arms. My little sister looked at Seth inquisitively, but gave him her biggest smile. Seth couldn't help but smile back.

"Oh, I'm Seth...Well, let's just say we're going to be good friends," he told her. I guess Lizzy communicated with him through her mind. "Yeah, I'm a wolf...I know, I smell funny. You'll get used to it."

Lizzy then giggled in response, snuggling deeper into Seth's arms. Seth smiled a bit, his face showing signs that he was now calm.

"Looks like both sisters got imprinted on by wolves," Uncle Emmett snickered. This caused my parents to glare at him while Aunt Rose smacked him upside the head.

"Abuse!" Uncle Emmett cried out, narrowing his eyes at everyone.

"Why don't we play a game," I suggested, trying to lighten the mood, "Come on Seth, you can join us too!"

"Yeah! It'll be fun! You and Jake can play with us!" Lily added.

"The play set if finished! I just finished it and I did a way better job than Daddy! Come on!" Aidan exclaimed, coming towards us.

With that, we all ran to our new fortress. Jacob hung out with Lily, Aidan, and I. He chased us around for a bit and played along with our games. Meanwhile I looked to see Seth was getting to know Lizzy. He pushed her on the swing for a bit and sat her down on the grass. I wasn't sure what he was doing, but it was making my little sister laugh. That meant he was fine in my book, as long as Lizzy was happy, I was happy.

I looked back at my parents. I couldn't tell how they felt. Momma was now in Daddy's arms as she watched Lizzy with a glum expression. Daddy just rubbed her back and sighed. Why were they sad? Maybe it was the whole soul mate thing Jacob explained to me before. I could understand why this might scare them, but they liked Jakey. They would like Seth took. They already liked Seth. It's just a matter of getting used to I think.

We played for hours until the sun began to set and I felt myself getting tired fast. Lily and Aidan were both falling asleep so that meant it was time for us to go home soon. Tonight I think Momma and Daddy decided for us to sleep in the cottage. It's been a long time since I was back in the cottage. I missed it, and I think we should be safe tonight. Well...I hope. Lorenzo was just one of those things lurking in the back of my mind all the time now. He was almost like the Volturi, both very spontaneous and ruthless when it comes to their attacks.

"Come on baby let's go home," Momma said. "Say goodnight to, Jake."

I smiled tiredly, looking at my wolf buddy. He smiled at me as I head over to hug him. "I'll see you tomorrow," I told him, throwing my arms around his neck.

"I'll see you too, Ness," he replied, pressing a kiss on the top of my head. I looked from behind his shoulder to see Seth cradling Lizzy in his arms.

"Here you go, Edward," Seth said as he placed my sleeping little sister in my dad's arms. "She kind of passed out."

"Thanks," My dad replied softly, protectively cradling Lizzy to his chest.

"No hard feelings?" Seth asked.

My daddy looked down at Lizzy, sighed, and then nodded. "Yeah, no hard feelings. Bella and I will have to get used to it, again, but no hard feelings."

"Alright...Good," Seth replied.

"Jake?" I asked softly against his t-shirt.

"Yes?" he muttered as I went to touch his cheek.

"Is it bad that Seth imprinted on Lizzy?" I asked him via my power. The two of us pulled away from our hug and I watched as he bit his lip.

"No, Ness. It's not. It's just like me and you," He explained to me.

"But why are Momma and Daddy sad?" I questioned this time.

Jacob sighed, "They're not sad- you know what, Ness maybe you should ask them for yourself. It's not really my place."

"Alright," I agreed. "Night, Jakey."

"Night kiddo," He said, giving me one last smile before heading out into the woods with Seth trailing right behind him.

I then head over to Momma who picks me up in her arms. I curl into her as the four of us run back to the cottage.

When we get there I go and get ready for bed by getting into my disney princess pajamas. I just wanted to go to bed right now. I was pretty tired. This day was weird. I looked back at my sister.

Since the cottage had only two bedrooms, Lizzy shares a room with me. Her crib is set up right across from my bed. I helped Momma put on her pink pajamas before crawling into my own bed. Momma and Daddy then tuck her in her crib before they come over to say goodnight to me. Once Lizzy hits the pillow she's out like a light.

I notice she cuddled her stuff wolf, Jem, close to her. I go to grab Scout and hug her close to me, rubbing my face in his fury ears. She was just like Jacob almost, they had the same fur color and fuzziness. It's almost like a substitute for me when Jacob is not around.

Scout had to be my favorite stuff animal next to my lion and lamb. The fuzzy copper lion and white lamb were always on my bed. I could never get rid of them, ever. Even when I become a big girl I wasn't going to. I just couldn't! Those three stuff animals represented Momma, Daddy, and Jacob. They meant the world to me!

"Night, Baby," Momma told me as she goes to kiss my forehead.

Daddy followed her and plants a kiss on my forehead as well, "Sweet dreams, Angel."

"Wait- Momma?" I call out quietly before they can leave. "Daddy?"

"Yes baby?" Momma asked, stopping with Daddy before they could exit the room.

"Are you sad Lizzy was imprinted on too?" I asked them nervously, fiddling with Scout's ears. "Is there something wrong with imprinting?"

"Angel," Momma responded, her voice light. She bit her lip. I could tell she was trying to find the right words. "We're not angry...It's just-"

"Baby it's just that- well you know how imprinting is. That it means you have a close connection to Jake or Seth in Lizzy's matter. We just feel that we are going to lose you and your sister," Daddy explained, helping Momma out. Momma shared a glance with him nodded in agreement.

Meanwhile, I looked at both of them incredulously. Why would they even think that?

"Momma I'm always going to be your baby and Daddy I'll always be your little girl! Same goes for Lizzy! You know nothing is going to change that, right? Not even when I get married or maybe, if it's possible, have my own babies," I told them sternly. "I love you both very much. Lizzy loves you guys a lot too. Just because we have our wolves, doesn't mean we'll loose you. Just think of it as having another protector."

Momma smiled, walking over to me. She brushed my hair, "We know baby. It's just a weird thing we have to get used to. Don't worry, there's nothing wrong with you, Jakey, Seth, or Lizzy. Everything will be fine. Like you said, they're going to protect you and your little sister. I'm actually very happy you both have your own wolves."

I felt my smile grow, "Alright...Thanks, Momma. I love you guys"

Momma then planted another kiss on my forehead, "We love you too, baby. Now get some sleep."

"M'kay," I muttered tiredly.

With that my parents closed the door. I heard my daddy's piano compositions start to play on the CD player and soon sleep took over me. All I kept thinking was how everything was going to be fine and how my little sister now had someone to look out for her as well.
