Thanksgiving
(Bella's POV)
Today is Thanksgiving and we were currently headed over to Charlie's. It would just be Edward, the girls, and I. Alice, Jasper, Esme, and Carlisle were out having a thanksgiving hunt while Rosalie and Emmett took Lily and Aidan to Seattle to spend some time with just the four of them.
I was pretty happy to heading over to Charlie's today. I wanted to spend as much time as I could with him before we moved because I was going to miss him a ton. I just got him back and I really didn't want to loose any more time with him. I think this move overall was going to be pretty hard on everyone. Even if the new home was an hour away, it still seems very far in my mind. This was our home.
We needed to move though. We couldn't stay here any longer. It was getting way too suspicious and we already pushed past the Cullen limit for staying in one place. I was getting nervous about keeping ourselves disclosed from the public eye. We barley go out as it is. Nowadays if we have to run errands or shop we commute to Seattle or Port Angeles as discretely as we can. The only time anyone goes out is if Renesmee has to go to school. It's most likely no one will recognize us at the Forks Elementary school. There was still trying to avoid my old friends from high school. Charlie tells me he'll get a call from Angela once in awhile. When she's home from breaks with Ben she stops by to see if I'm home. I feel bad for making Charlie lie. I try to email her when I can and I always have to make up some sort of excuse as to why I can't see her. It sucks...Big time.
The same goes for when I try to avoid Renee. I got an email from my mother a month before asking me if I wanted to come down to Florida to celebrate Thanksgiving with her and Phil. I wanted to go, so bad, but I just couldn't. My mother couldn't see me. Not again...I hated it. I hated not seeing her, but I loved my family. This is what I chose and this is what I wanted. Not seeing my mother was just a painful sacrifice I had to make. I'm thankful everyday for the life I have with Edward and our daughters. I wouldn't change a thing about it.
Anyway, today would also be the day Charlie would meet Lizzy. I think he was planning on getting a grandson, so he has no idea for the surprise in stored for him.
"Momma! I'm ready," Renesmee sung as she came prancing out of her room in a cute little blue dress. Her hair was up halfway up with her curls following all over the place.
I smiled at her. To think, in about a year, according to Carlisle's estimates, she would look the same age as a middle schooler. There wasn't much time left to her being a little girl. God, I was going to miss this.
"Nice sweetie! You look beautiful," I said, placing a kiss on the top of her head.
"Thank you," Renesmee replied, blushing.
I chuckled at my daughter's modesty. "Do you want to help me pick out an outfit for Lizzy?" I asked her.
This cause Renesmee to nod eagerly. I then went to pick up Lizzy from her highchair and made my way into my daughters' bedroom.
I looked down at my youngest daughter who was currently curled in my arms.
Her personality was already showing at a few weeks old. Lizzy is such a creative and intelligent child. My daughters are both very smart, but Lizzy seems to have some sort of vast knowledge on things already. Edward says she gets my observant gene (mental eyeball to that comment). But just like Renesmee was when she was a baby, Lizzy just picks up things like that. She has already outsmarted Emmett, Seth, and even Jasper in games.
My youngest daughter loves reading as well. She'll always be listening when I read Renesmee a bed time story. She actually knows how to read now. Besides reading, Lizzy also seems to enjoy the piano. When she gets older, with the help of Edward and Renesmee, she'll probably learn in no time.
Another thing I noticed is how much Lizzy loves to build things with Aidan. She's has become a bit closer to Aidan over the past few days. I think she can't put up with her cousin and sister playing dress up anymore so she hangs out with Aidan. They make a pretty good team. With Lizzy's brains and Aidan's telekinesis they have build some pretty interesting things.
"How about this dress Momma?" Renesmee asked, picking out a small little green dress in her hands to match Lizzy's eyes.
"Perfect angel," I complimented, smiling at Renesmee. I then place Lizzy in it and put her hair back with a baby clip.
"Ready?" I turn to see my Adonis husband standing in the doorway with a blue button up shirt and black slacks.
"We're all ready, Daddy!" Renesmee chirped before she ran over to Edward. I smiled as he picks her up in his arms. He rests her on his hip while Renesmee leans her head against his shoulder.
"You look handsome," I compliment Edward while I walk over to them with Lizzy in my arms. Edward proceeds to chuckle, pressing a kiss to my temple when I finally make my way over to him.
"You look beautiful as well, love," He told me. I grinned in response as I go to kiss his lips. In the process I can hear little voice in the background complain playfully.
"Ew. Momma, Daddy, not in front of Lizzy...Or me for that matter." Renesmee scrunched her nose up in disgust. Lizzy blinks, looking at us curiously.
I share a look with Edward and we both laugh. With our daughters we then head over to where the Volvo is and drive over to Charlie. We're there in no time of course. The whole place seems to be jumping with most of the pack over as well.
"I can't wait for Grandpa to meet Lizzy!" Renesmee squealed as she ran out of the car to greet Charlie. My dad came out right away picked up Renesmee in a swirl. My dad loves his granddaughter so much, I'm glad he knows everything now. I just couldn't keep Renesmee away from him. It was very important to me that they can have a relationship.
"Hey Ness! Happy Thanksgiving!" He exclaimed, resting her on his hip.
"You too, Grandpa!" Renesmee replied happily to her grandfather before planting a kiss on his cheek.
"Hey Dad," I greet my father as I walk up to him, hands shoved in my pocket.
"Hey, Bells," He greets me. He then looks around, "So...Where's this Grandson of mine?"
I grinned, "Dad...We have a bit of a surprise for you."
"What?" he questioned, raising his eyebrows at me. "It's not twins is it?"
I laughed, "No. Just wait and see."
"Alright," Charlie said, still wary. "I don't see how this could get even more interesting that it already was to begin with."
"Edward!" I called out to my husband. He then got out of the car with Lizzy in his arms. My little girl looked fondly at her grandfather with a pick grin on her face. She was pretty excited to meet him.
"It's a girl?" Charlie questioned, an amused look on his face. "That's the surprise?"
"Yep! Alice decided to trick us," I explained to him, brushing Lizzy's curls. "Her name is Elizabelle Rosemary, but we call her Lizzy."
Lizzy gives a toothy grin at her grandfather while she bounces in Edward's arms.
"She's cute Bells," Charlie remarked, smiling in adoration at his youngest granddaughter. "She looks a lot like Edward, but I see your Grandma in there too." His finger goes to tickle the side of her cheek, making Lizzy giggle.
"Is Ness being a good big sister?" My dad asked, looking at Renesmee with an amused glance.
"Of course! I love Lizzy very much. She's really awesome!" Renesmee insisted, causing the rest of us to laugh.
"And Dad, there's something else I should warn you about," I told him, my voice a bit nervous.
"What?" My dad asked, raising an eyebrow. "More surprises?"
I let a nervous laugh out, "I kind of found out I can have another one...Just one more. That's it."
Charlie looks at me with wide eyes. "Wow! That's great that you can have another, but damn. Another grandkid."
"I know. It's really crazy," I muttered as Edward wrapped his free arm around me.
"Do you exactly plan to have any soon?" Charlie asked.
I shared a look with Edward and we both shrugged.
"Who knows, if we do have another child it's going to be like Lizzy. She has a much slower growth rate than Renesmee, and she'll be full grown when she's ten while Renesmee will stop when she's seven. If we have a boy the third time around he'll have a much faster growth rate than the both of them. We met someone like Lizzy the other day, and he says he stopped aging when he was five years old," I explained to my father.
"I see...I think..." Charlie muttered. "This supernatural stuff sure is weird."
"It is," I agreed.
"Well, I guess on that note let's head inside. Sue made a nice juicy turkey and I can't wait to have a bite of it," Charlie announced, giving us a hearty smile.
"Yay!" Renesmee cheered as he carried her into the house.
I laughed with my husband as we enter the house. Leah, Seth, Jacob, Billy, and Sue where all there to greet us at the door. The house had some of the pack members as well walking around. Some were watching the game while others were just chatting.
When Lizzy spotted Seth she reached out for him right away. I reluctantly placed her in his arms making her smile at him. I know Seth's a good kid and like Jacob they'll protect my daughters. Edward and I thought about it again the other night. We shouldn't worry. It's just going to be like Jake and Ness. It'll be fine.
"So let's eat," Charlie declared, rubbing his hands together.
"Dad we don't eat, remember," I pointed out to him.
"Oh right," he muttered, slightly embarrassed.
"It's okay." I chuckled as I gave my dad a side hug. "I'm glad we could be here today."
"Me too, Bells," My dad agreed, giving me a smile.
We then proceed to enter the dinning room. Everyone then gathered around the big table and began to dig in. The only ones not eating were Edward, Lizzy, and I. Renesmee had a bit of turkey and stuffing. She could tolerate human food, of course she liked blood better, but at the same time she did like some human food. She was a really big fan of Tiffany Call's famous stuffing.
"Well it's time for football," Charlie announced later on in the night as he rolled Billy into the living room. Jake, Seth, and Edward joined them leaving us girls at the dinning room table. Renesmee was coloring some pictures of turkeys with Claire Young and her sister, Willow, while I bounced Lizzy on my hip.
"So Seth and Lizzy, I heard they imprinted?" Leah asked me, looking down at my little girl curiously.
"Yeah. It was a complete surprise," I mentioned, brushing my little girl's curls back.
Leah Clearwater has seemed to gotten nicer to us than she used to be. I have a feeling now since Seth imprinted on Lizzy she's going to learn to tolerate or maybe even like us now. Anyway, the two of us were going to be family anyway. Sue would be marrying Charlie. So technically we were step-siblings.
"Uncle Emmett calls us the imprinting sisters now," Nessie pipped up, looking over at Leah.
Leah smiled at Renesmee. Leah developed a soft spot for Renesmee, I have to say. I think it's because my daughter is very good natured and well liked. She can make even the saddest of people smile.
"That's pretty funny," Leah told my daughter. I chuckled.
For the rest of the night I talked to Sue and Leah some more. The guys pretty much watched football the whole time, but when the girls got bored Jacob and Quil chased Renesmee, Claire, and Willow. Once the Young sisters left though, Renesmee was out like a light on Charlie's couch with Lizzy.
"I think we head off now, bye Dad. Thanks for the Thanksgiving," I told him, reaching in for a hug.
"Thanks for coming Bells." He smiled at me. He looks back at his granddaughters, "As weird as your new world is, I'll be forever grateful that you told me about it."
"Me too, Dad," I confessed, giving him a smile. With that, I head back to the cottage with Edward and our daughters, concluding Thanksgiving.
Hey guys! Sorry if this took long to post, as I said I'm pretty busy. Anyway please review and be on the lookout for more chapters :)
