Scared

(Renesmee's POV)

The next morning I woke up to the bright early sunlight making it's way into the house. I slowly got up from my sleeping bag and yawned. The scent of pancakes, maple syrup, and scrambled eggs hit my nose and I couldn't help but smile in delight. I look to see my friends get up right after me. I really did have a great sleepover. I was happy I was able to experience one before I grew up, which won't be too long from now. It kinds of stinks that I won't get to have a normal childhood. I'm going to grow up faster than the normal kid. When a kid my age is seven, I'll be a teenager.

Sometimes I do get envious of other human children, not always, but from time to time. The thought of never having a normal human childhood is floating in the back of my mind. I mean I have a wonderful family and I'm sure my childhood is going to be wonderful since it's for such a short time, but it's still hanging around in my head. I am very grateful for all the things my family does to make sure I have a normal childhood as possible, and that's why I love them. Even though I have a small window of time for being a kid I'm sure I'll have a good time.

"Morning," I greeted my friends. My voice was a bit groggy.

"Morning." Nikki yawned, getting up from her sleeping bag.

"You guys wanna go get changed? I think my grandma has breakfast done," I announced.

"Let's!" Irene agreed enthusiastically

My friends and I then got changed into clothing for the day. I get into a pair of jeans and a purple t-shirt. Something nice and comfortable for the rest of the day.

When we enter the kitchen sure enough Grandma Esme had made us a breakfast of pancakes and eggs. Yum!

I have always loved eggs, ever since the beginning. Daddy loves to tell me all the time how Momma used to love eggs when she was pregnant with me. My daddy always makes the best eggs and Grandma the best pasta. I sort of wish it was his eggs right now, though Grandma didn't do such a bad job.

Once we were done with our breakfast I could hear the cars of my friends' parents slowly pulling into our massive driveway. Aw looks like the fun is over! I sighed, I really didn't want this sleepover to end.

Soon the first mother knocked on the door indicating for my friends to gather up their sleepover equipment. Grandma Esme talked to the other mothers while I went to help my friends get ready.

"Ness we'll see you in school!" Irene called out to me as all of them departed to their cars. "Thanks for the sleepover!"

"No problem! See you guys soon!" I yelled back at my friends while I watched them leave in their cars.

Once their cars left the driveway it was very quiet in my house. I wonder where everyone else is? I began to search around the house until I come across my grandmother. I smile seeing her watering the flowers she keeps in the living room.

"Hey Grandma," I greeted her as I walked into the middle of the room.

"Hi Angel, how are you? Did you have a good sleepover?" She asked as she finished up watering one of her potted plants.

"It was awesome! Thank you for everything," I told her.

"Well I'm glad you got to have fun." She smiled at me. "It's always a pleasure to me to see you happy."

"Thank again," I said, smiling up at my grandmother. Grandma smiled back, placing a kiss on my forehead. She truly was one of the kindest people I know. "Grandma where is everyone?" I asked curiously.

"Well Aunt Rosalie and Uncle Emmett took your cousins to go play outside, Grandpa is in his office, and Aunt Alice and Uncle Jasper are on a date. Your parents are um having a private moment back at the cottage so I told them I would watch you and your sister until they came back. Lizzy's sleeping upstairs in your daddy's old room," Grandma explained to me. "Do you think you check on her for me dear?"

"Of course!" I obliged happily. I then to skip up the stairs to my daddy's old room. When I turn the door knob Lizzy began to screech, so I didn't waste any time barging into the room.

What I saw made me wanna cry.

There in my daddy's old room is the evil man. He had my sister in his grasp; holding her right above the moses basket she was sleeping in. I look in horror as she tries to struggle out of his grasp, trying to break free from him.

"Let her go!" I cried out.

I didn't think. I just ran at him while my sister is screaming for help. She's only a helpless little baby! All she can do at the moment is flail her fists around trying to escape his iron grip.

"Oh look, the other brat." He smirked deviously, still gripping onto my little sister.

"Let go!" I screamed again. My sister screeched some more as I now began to hit him. My fists are punching at his torso furiously while I try to get Lizzy back.

"Grandma! Grandpa!" I sobbed, still swatting at him furiously. "Leave my sister alone!"

Lorenzo cackles and in the process just swats me away. His hand was like a stone so it knocked me down pretty hard onto the wood floor. I felt a pain rise in my back and tears threatening to make their way out, but I just stuck it all up. I stand my ground in front of this man while ignoring the slight pain. Even though it hurt I felt it slowly go away. I wasn't going to let him get away with her.

My grandparents came running up the stairs in a nano second after I screamed. They froze when they noticed Lizzy in his grasp and I was close to it.

"Leave my granddaughters alone!" Grandpa growled. I was shocked to see my grandfather like this. He's not a vicious man at all. Very peaceful. But right now he looked like he was about to tear Lorenzo into pieces.

My grandma didn't hesitate to sweep me up in her arms, shielding me away from the evil man. Though her gaze wasn't leaving my little sister as Lizzy bawled her eyes out.

"Oh look Carlisle Cullen, the vampire who tries to help humans. Pathetic is what you are," the evil man spat.

"I won't ask you again, drop the girl and leave. Now! You're outnumbered!" my grandfather threatened. "You are on our territory! If you don't leave now you will pay the price!"

"Oh really because I can get away, I'm faster than all of you," Lorenzo remarked, his voice full of smugness. "I proved that the last time I attacked. None of you could get me."

"Let my sister go!" I growled, but only tears poured out of my eyes. Grandma brushed my hair, holding me tightly against her.

"Let our daughter go!" I look to see Momma and Daddy jumped up onto the window sills, ready to attack Lorenzo.

"Fine," Lorenzo said simply. Next thing you know he tosses my sister up in the air. In the process, my father ran to get Lizzy while Lorenzo knocked my mother out of the way. I cried out for my mother, watching her fly across the room as Lorenzo jumped out of the window.

Grandpa caught Lizzy in time, causing my dad to turn to my mother. "Bella!" My daddy cried out, running to her side.

"I'm fine," Momma insisted, getting up. "I'm going to kill him."

"Go! We have the girls," Grandpa said as Lizzy gripped onto him for life, crying her eyes out. Momma and Daddy didn't want to leave us, but they ran out of the window to try to get him. I felt the sobs wrack my body as Grandpa brought Lizzy over to me.

Grandma put me down so I could hold my little sister in my arms. Lizzy held on tightly to me while I tried to calm her down, singing one of Daddy's compositions for her. Grandma wrapped her arms around the both of us, trying to shield us in any way. Grandpa placed a kiss on each of our foreheads.

"You girls are really brave," He told us. "I'm going to go after your parents. Grandma's going to stay here with you two."

I nodded tearfully at him before he rushed out of the room. Grandma then began to hum along some lullabies. Anything to calm us down. It was working, but Lizzy and I still had tears running down our cheeks.

"Ness!" I look up to now see Jacob running into the room. Behind him is Seth.

"Jakey!" I cried out. Grandma then loosens her grip on me so I could run to him. The moment I reach him he picks me up and holds me tightly into his arms. I burry my face into his chest, my tears stain his shirt as they fall from my eyes.

Lizzy looks to Seth, her eyes still full of tears as Grandma places him in her arms. Seth shushes her, hugging onto her tight as he tries to calm her down.

Jacob kept rubbing my back. Trying to make it all better, "Did he hurt you because I'll-"

"Jakey, I'm fine. He only threw me to the ground. My back is a little sore, but I'm fine," I reassured him. I go to lean my head against his chest, closing my eyes as I tried to block out the memories of today.

"I'll kill him!" He growled under his breath.

"Jakey, I'm seriously fine. I promise. It's Lizzy I was worried for! He almost killed her!" I shivered looking at my baby sister. I almost lost her today.

"Nessie, are you sure you're okay?" He asked me one more time. I could tell he was very concerned for me.

"Yes Jake. Look, I just need my best wolf friend right now," I told him, the tears still falling down my cheeks. I proceed to bury my face into his chest again so I feel like I'm being shield from the rest of the world. I could tell he moved to sitting on the bed as I was sprawled out on his chest sobbing my eyes out.

"Nessie!" I heard another voice cry out. I pick my head up from Jake's chest to see Lily running into the room. Tears are streaming down her cheeks as she runs to my side.

"Lily!" I called out to my cousin. Jacob then sets me down so I can go to hug my cousin.

"Are you okay?" She asked me, gripping on for dear life.

"I'm fine, we're all fine," I told her. We both sob as we hold each other.

"Where is he! I'll kill him!" Aidan growled as he came trotting in. "Lizzy if he hurt you I'll tear him apart!"

"Come here, Aidan," I said. I then open my arm out for him to come into the hug between Lily and I.

"I'm scared, this man seems like he can hurt us!?" Lily feared.

"I don't know Lil," I muttered sadly.

"I can always use my powers to threaten him," Aidan reminded us.

"Aide, I don't think he's going to be very scared of you." I chuckled lightly. The tears were still present on my face, but none the less Aidan's goofy and light demeanor were making me feel a bit better.

"Hey!" He pouted in protested, pretending to be hurt. This caused us to all laugh.

"Renesmee! Lizzy! Angels are you okay!?" Aunt Rosalie asked, clearly panicked as she rushed in the room. When she spotted me she went to give me a hug.

"I'm okay, Aunt Rose. We're safe," I reassured her as she scooped me up into her arms. I held on to my aunt tightly as she pressed a kiss to my forehead.

"How is Lizzy?" My aunt asked, looking to where Seth and Grandma were with her. The two of them were sitting on the bed while Lizzy was curled up in Seth's arms. Meanwhile Grandma stroked her hair, humming more lullabies. Aidan was on the bed now too and he was holding on tight to my little sister's hand.

"I think she's scared, that's all," Grandma said softly, pressing a kiss to her temple.

"Renesmee!? Elizabelle?!" I look see my momma come rushing in. I was so relieved to see she was alright, but my stomach dropped in fear. Was Daddy okay too?

"Momma!" I cried out. Aunt Rose places me in her arms where Momma hugs onto me like her life depended on it. When Lizzy see's her she instantly wants Momma as well. Seth places my little sister into my mother's other arm while she sits down on the bed so we could both hold onto her.

"Momma? Is Daddy okay?" I asked, worried for my daddy's safety. I didn't want to lose him. I almost lost him to Lorenzo before. I refuse to lose him or any member of my family.

"He's fine. Daddy, Uncle Jasper, Aunt Alice, Grandpa, and Uncle Emmett are with the wolves. They're just seeing if they can get Lorenzo's scent," Momma explained to me softly. "He'll be fine sweetheart."

Lizzy and I then curled onto our mother's lap while she held us both close. Momma rocked us softly while humming the melody of Clair de Lune.

Meanwhile Aunt Rosalie had Aidan and Lily in her arms as they both buried themselves into her as she rocked them back and forth. Jake, Seth, and Grandma were also still here. They sat with us too, trying to provide any comfort they could to us. The only sound in the room was the sound of my mother's humming.

What felt like forever was over as my my daddy then came running in a little bit later with Uncle Emmett.

"Daddy!" I sobbed as I reach my arms out to him.

"Nessie, thank god you're safe," he said. He lifts me up and I hug him tight. I burry my face into his chest. I take in his scent as my tears make their way onto his shirt.

"He didn't hurt you this time? Or anyone else?" I asked, clearly full of fear.

He automatically shook his head. "Angel we're all fine," Daddy told me, brushing my hair gently. "What's important is are you and your sister fine?"

I nodded as Lizzy then reaches her arms out towards Daddy. He goes to pick her up just like Momma had; with each of us in one arm. I burry my face in my dad's shoulder while Lizzy buries hers in the other. I could feel that he moved to the bed right next to Momma. I could now feel my mother's fingers running through my hair.

I look over to see Lily cuddled into Uncle Emmett while Aidan was cuddled into Aunt Rosalie. My aunt and uncle both looked like they wanted to protect both twins from the rest of the world.

"We'll stay here tonight," Daddy announced. "We're not going to risk anything."

"I think it's for the best," Grandma agreed with him.

Momma nodded her head in agreement before she gently takes Lizzy from Daddy's arms. She cradled her close, trying to soothe her the best she could. Lizzy just held on tight, burying her face into Momma's chest while my mother comforted her.

My poor sister just experienced something life threatening and she's only a baby. I now hug tightly to Daddy. He holds me tight to his chest while I curled up against him. I closed my eyes while I listened to his unnecessary breathing to help calm me down.

"Can we stay too?" Jacob asked referring to himself and Seth.

"Of course, you two can sleep on the couch. I'll get the beds prepared," Grandma Esme chimed before she went scurrying downstairs to get it ready.

Jacob turned to me and gently planted a kiss on my forehead, "We'll be here, Ness. Until then, try to sleep tight. Alright?"

"Alright," I agreed. He gave me a small smile before heading downstairs with Seth.

"We'll be right next door if you guys need anything," Aunt Rosalie announced. Lily and Aidan seemed to be falling asleep in their parents embrace. Their faces were still stained with tears.

"Okay," my mom said softly before we bid them goodnight.

Momma then carried Lizzy over to the bed while Daddy carried me. We all climbed into the bed as a family; snuggling close to one another. I was propped up like a baby again in between my parents with Lizzy close to me. I grabbed her hand and didn't want to let go ever again. Momma was stroking our hair while Daddy hummed my lullaby, Lizzy's, and different piano compositions.

I looked into my sister's tried green eyes and watch as a smile appears on her face.

"Thank you Nessie," She told me. With my free hand, that isn't holding her other, I go to reach out to touch her arm to communicate with her.

"That's what sister's do. I'm your elder sister so I'm going to protect you."

"And I'll protect you." Lizzy yawned. I smiled as I planted a kiss on her small forehead.

She gives me a weak smile in return. We soon fall fast asleep with the melody of our lullaby in our ears.
