Hey readers! I actually wrote this chapter a while ago, but waited to put this up. Why, you ask? Because I don't know when I'll be able to write again and I just wanted something stored. Well, here it is. It's kind of short, but I think you'll enjoy it. Another NaLu moment here. Now on with the story!
It was already 2 in the morning and I still couldn't fall asleep. It's weird how much of an effect Natsu had on me. I got out of bed. Might as well get some fresh air since I can't fall asleep. I quietly walked out of my room and across Levy and Gajeel's rooms, being extra careful not to wake them. Beyond their rooms there is a glass door that leads to the balcony. When my level of the company was being built, I always knew that I wanted a balcony ever since Natsu attended my party back then. It was a moment that I never wanted to forget.
I leaned against the railing and looked at the night sky. And to my surprise, there were actually stars out tonight. A harsh breeze passed through, and goosebumps appeared on my arms. I rub my hands up and down my arms to generate heat. It was surprisingly cold tonight. Suddenly I felt a large piece of fabric fall on my shoulders. I turned around. A pink haired boy grinned at me.
"Can't sleep?" The male asked in a husky tone. I nodded.
"What are you doing up?" I asked.
Natsu raised a brow. "I could ask the same about you."
I bite my lips. "I guess that was that was a pretty silly question, huh?"
Natsu shrugged. "I don't mind. So your looking at the stars again. Do you see any constellations you know?"
I was surprised. "You actually remember about that?" I asked.
"Of course. I can't possibly forget about that night," he says. "A girl who I "technically" just met that day, turned out to be everything I ever wanted."
I blushed at his comment. "That's not true," I said meekly.
"But it is,"he said seriously. "All my life I've been surrounded by girls who only like me for my money. It was a good change when I could finally talk to someone who didn't care about that. You don't know how much that actually means to me."
"But I also lied to you," I said ashamed.
Natsu shrugs. "I know you had your reasons, and I also overreacted. Plus, I was pretty horrible to you when we first met."
It was so strange that we were having this conversation. Who would've thought that we would both be confessing our faults to each other.
Another breeze passes through and I shiver.
"Do you want to go back inside?" Natsu asked.
I nodded and followed Natsu inside.
"Do you want me to make us something in the kitchen? And maybe we can put a movie on in the living room?" I asked
"Sure. That'll be nice."
We quietly tiptoed downstairs being careful not to wake the others up.
"How about I make some hot chocolate and popcorn and you can pick out a movie on that shelf over there," I said pointing to a small bookshelf next to the tv in the living room.
"Okay. Any preferences?" He asked.
I thought about it for a moment. It was probably best if he just picked any movie he wanted. I don't want to bore him with a chick flick or anything. "Nope. Surprise me."
He was over to the bookshelf and casually scans over my selection of dvds, picking one out every once and a while to scan the summary before placing it back.
I smile. I walk to the kitchen and started working on making the popcorn and hot chocolate. Living alone I usually don't cook a lot. Don't get me wrong, I can cook just fine, but I just never had the time or energy to cook myself a homemade meal. I popped a bag of popcorn into the microwave and set it for a minute thirty. Then I got two mugs out of the cabinet and poured a package of hot cocoa mix into each. I add milk to each cup and stirred. Just as the microwave beeped indicating that the popcorn was done, i replaced it with the two mugs and set the timer. I opened the popcorn bag and poured its contents into a large bowl. After the hot cocoa was heated, I placed everything on the tray and brought it to the living room table.
"Have a movie picked out yet?"
"Yes, it's something called celestial assault. It sounded interesting," he said nonchalantly.
I paled. "G-great...good choice." Of course out of all the movies I owned he had to pick the one scary movie. The only reason I even owned that movie was because I thought it was going to be about celestial life forms fighting each other about something. But no, it was basically another alien invasion type of movie which portrayed them killing and eating humans.
Natsu turns on the tv and the movie starts. I gulp. We both get comfortable on the couch. It was one of those couches that were long and wide enough to basically be beds.
Less than a quarter way into the movie, I'm already shielding my eyes with my hands and cowering behind Natsu. Natsu just looked at me in amusement.
"You do know that this movie isn't even close to scary right?" He says.
"It is too!" I defended.
"Compared to some other movies I've seen, this probably receives a -1 on the scariness scale. The aliens don't even look real."
I couldn't even begin to imagine a movie worse than this.
"Do you want to watch something else? This movie isn't that interesting anyways."
Happiness rushed through me. "Yes!"
Natsu smiled. He goes over and picks out another movie. The Lion King.
"This is the movie that I actually wanted to watch since I haven't seen it since I was a kid, but I picked the other one because I wanted to see your reaction," he smirked.
"Meanie," I pouted. He laughs and places a hand on my head and ruffles my hair.
As the movie starts Natsu intertwines his hands with mines. I look up at him in shook, and he grins back. I subconsciously lean my head on his shoulders, which may I add, were muscular. He must work out a lot, I thought in the back of my head. We sat there in silence, while watching the movie. We were both content just to have each other's prescience.
Half way into the movie, I find myself becoming drowsy. Before I realized it my thoughts started drifting off and my eyes lids felt heavy. Soon I was asleep.
Somewhere in the middle of the night, I felt cold and moved to a heat source next to me. I snuggled up close until I was content and fell back asleep. I had one of the best dreams that night- filled with friendly dragons, weird spirit things, and flying cats. Weird.
I know I sound like a broken record, but please do follow/favorite/review! Maybe you'll even the next chapter sooner, eh;)
