A Surprise

(Bella's POV)

Renesmee has been holding up pretty well since the incident, although her skin has formed a scar where the bite mark was. Unfortunately she'll always have a scare to remind her of this scary experience. It's almost like how I still have the bite mark from James till this day. I guess it's just there to remind us both how we almost died, but also how we overcame it and lived.

Instead of the scar being on her wrist, Renesmee has hers on her arm. It was kind of like one of Jasper's scars, but it's not as noticeable as mine or his. Carlisle and Edward said it might fade because she's still young. Hopefully as she gets older the mark will just seem to blend in with her skin, but there will always be some type of mark.

Right now Renesmee was snuggled into Edward as she watched T.V. Her head was resting against his chest and he had his arms wrapped around her. I could tell she was sound asleep. Renesmee likes it when Edward or I hold her since our cool skin feels nice on her bruises and her cracked rib. She was also really weak from the bite since she lost a lot of blood and a strange venom entered her system.

Renesmee has been out of school for about a week now. We had told the school she got injured and is resting up at home. Edward and Carlisle think she won't be able to go back to school until the end of the month. Until then the school has been sending her work to us so Edward and I have been helping her.

Helping Renesmee has actually made me think of a career choice. Maybe one day I could go to college to be a teacher. That would be something more of my taste. But it's not something I have really put much thought into. I have three kids that I want to be apart in raising. I don't want to be taking college classes and studying all the time. That means I won't be apart of their short childhood.

"Is she asleep?" I whispered to Edward as I come over to him and Renesmee. He nodded his head as I brushed part of her hair away to show her eyes are closed.

"Yeah, she fell asleep not to long ago," He said softly. I go to run my fingers through some of her curls to smooth them out. Lizzy, Masen, Lily, and Aidan were outside right now with Seth and Ethan. The Denali's left about two days ago. They left once they were sure Renesmee was better.

Ethan still hasn't left yet and honestly, we were happy to have him here. He doesn't have a family to go home to so he's always welcome at our home. After all that he has done to help us, and how good he's been with the kids, how can we not love him like our own.

"Carlisle wants us to come downstairs," Edward murmured to me.

"Family meeting?" I asked.

My husband nodded gently. "Jacob!" Edward called out softly to him, making sure not to wake Renesmee. Jacob comes over moments later in a rush.

"Yeah?" Jacob said.

"Can you watch Nessie until we come back downstairs?" Edward asked him.

"Of course," Jacob said, taking a seat on the nearby couch.

Edward gives Renesmee a kiss on the top of her head before taking my hand to lead me downstairs. I look to see the others are all gathered around in the living room as well. Ethan was also there, standing against the doorway.

"Bella, can you maybe put your shield up for us?" Carlisle asked me. I nodded, confused. Once I do as he says, Carlisle faces us. He looks like he as something important to tell the family.

"Okay, look ladies there is something you don't know, well maybe Alice knows, but there is something Esme and I have been planning for awhile," Carlisle announced. "It's for the family. The men know because it's their gifts to you."

"What?" I questioned, raising my eyebrows. Edward turned to me and smiled.

"Well love, what would you say if you have your own island, named after you?" With that remark, my eyes widen.

"My own island?" I stated slowly.

"Isle Bella. In Brazil. It's not too far away from Isle Esme...But that's not all, it's right next to Isle Rose, Isle Alice, and Isle Cullen," Edward explained me.

"Isle Cullen? So does this mean we have our own chain of islands now?" I teased.

"Yes, Isles de Cullen," Edward replied, smirking a bit. So basically now the Cullen's own their own chain of Hawaiian islands. I think I've seen it all now. "Carlisle? Esme? Want to continue," Edward asked. They nod and we go to turn to our parental figures. Carlisle and Esme both share a look with one anther before smiling at us.

"None of you have to say yes to this, but we were hoping to relocate the family to the Islands," Esme said warily.

I look at Alice and Rosalie. They exchange looks with me as well. "What about the home in Hoquiam?" I questioned, remembering our previous plans.

"There's still a home there, in case none of you want to move," Carlisle said.

"It might be for the best," Alice muttered, making everyone turn towards her. "Think about it, no threats coming to us on these private islands. The kids can spend the rest of their childhood in peace. I can see us moving there and we're happy...Really happy."

"I agree with Alice," Rosalie pipped up. "I know Forks is our home, but it might be for the benefit of the kids."

"What about Lizzy and Renesmee?" I whispered as the thought crept into my head.

"What about them?" Emmett questioned.

"They won't want to be separated from Jake and Seth, and I know those two won't take it well that their imprints are moving away without them," I pointed out.

Even though I like that it was going to give Renesmee and Elizabelle the ability to make their own choices about who they want in life, I know it's going to hurt them to be apart from their imprints. Seth and Lizzy might have an easier time since Lizzy is still young, and Seth is pretty young as well. I'm sure they'd be fine with it, but Jacob won't. I know how much Renesmee means to him. They have such a powerful bond. I don't want to torture my best friend.

"That is why Esme and I will offer them to come with us or since I know they have priorities in Forks. We can visit in the summer or they can come down for part of the year, whatever they want," Carlisle explained to me. "We had a small house built for Seth, Jacob...And Ethan."

We all turn to Ethan to see him with a shocked expression on his face.

"You want me to come with you all?" Ethan asked incredulously.

"Yes, we want you to join our family." Carlisle smiled at him. "The house has two floors. You'll get the whole bottom floor to yourself, almost like an apartment. Then the top is just another type of an apartment for Seth and Jacob when they stay."

"You don't have to, we know you have a job down in Australia," Esme added. She smiled warmly at him though. "We just thought maybe you would like to join us."

"I don't want to seem like I'm intruding but...wow. A family," Ethan breathed. I saw a smile play on his lips. This was his big chance to be with a family again.

"So?" Carlisle asked slowly. "Will you join our family?"

"Yes," Ethan answered confidently. "I would love to."

"Wonderful," Esme chimed, walking over to give him a hug.

"Look about this move, if anyone needs time to think about it you can. It's not official yet, and we do not have to move all the way to Brazil. We still have a nice home in Grey's Harbor County," Carlisle announced.

"When are we planning to move?" I asked curiously.

"We thought maybe a little bit after June, so Renesmee can finish up school. It gives us a few months. Bella we don't have to move their if you don't want to," Edward said to me.

"No, no, I like the idea," I told my husband. "It gives them a place to spend the rest of their childhood without anything to really worry about. I think after this situation with Lorenzo...it might be for the best. But I want to bring this up with the kids first and maybe think about it."

"Well we have time, don't worry about it, dear," Esme responded. "This isn't an easy decision."

"Thank you," I murmured softly.

"Well I vote yes," Rosalie chimed in. Emmett nodded as well, agreeing with his wife. "But I want to stick as a family, so if they're not going I don't want to go. I don't want Lily and Aidan to be separated from Renesmee, Masen, and Lizzy. I think they should grow up together."

"I agree with Rose. Jazz and I will follow wherever you guys go," Alice spoke up.

"Well I'm glad we had this talk. But remember we need to move by this June or many people are going to start questioning us. It's either going to be Hoquiam or Isles de Cullen," Carlisle declared.

I go to take Edward's hand as we go over to somewhere more private. I want to talk to him first before we made any decisions.

"Love? What do you want to do?" My husband asked me softly.

"I don't know. I really want to go to Isles de Cullen, but Forks is our home. Moving to Hoquiam would mean we're nearby. And then I don't know how Jacob will take the news, or Seth. Well I do know Seth might be a bit more open minded then Jake, but there is a house for them down there..." I said, trailing off. "Wait, how long have you known about this?"

"Carlisle and Esme told us about the islands awhile ago. I got one for you and the other guys did the same. We were planning to surprise you when the homes were finished, which they are. At first we thought we could use them as vacation islands. Then Carlisle and Esme came up with the idea of maybe moving there when Lorenzo struck. We wanted to talk this over with you girls first. We didn't want to make any family decisions without you," Edward explained to me.

"Oh," I muttered.

"Are you angry?" Edward asked me quietly. I shook my head.

"No, not at all. I love that you got me an island, which I need to thank you probably for later." I send him a wink and kiss. He grinned at me and pulled me closer to him. Edward goes to rest his chin on the top of my head while I let my head rest against his chest.

"I love you so much," He mumbled into my hair.

"I know. I love you too," I replied as I hugged him tight.

"I feel like it is a good idea to move there, but I don't know how the kids will feel. What about school?" I said.

"I could homeschool them. So can Carlisle, or maybe Esme. On Isle Cullen there is a main house that has guest rooms and it has a huge library we could use for homeschooling. If we move there Carlisle and Esme will stay on that Island because Isle Esme is a good couple of miles away from the islands. These are four islands all next to each other," Edward explained to me.

"Have you seen them yet?" I asked him

"Just of some pictures. Carlisle and Esme stopped at the islands one day when we were at Isle Esme," Edward confessed.

I nodded, "Do you think it's nice?"

"Yeah, it's beautiful there. We can maybe check it out before we move there," Edward said. He then bit his lip. "You know, Bella...We don't have to move if not everyone agrees on it."

"I know...And I really want to but I feel like it's more up to what the kids think," I told him. "I could see Renesmee saying no, but she knew we had to move. And the same goes for Lizzy. I feel bad separating them from Seth and Jake, but then it could give us a chance to make their own choice about if they really want to be with them."

I couldn't make a decision, but a very big part of me was wanting to go to Isle Bella and raise the children there. It was like a secret place, guarded off from the rest of the world. A safe place we could raise the children in. It's unlikely that we'll run into crazed vampires or people like Lorenzo. We'll also avoid people that find Lizzy and Masen a threat. It can be a place were we can keep Ethan, Lizzy, and Masen safe for awhile so the Volturi won't find out about their kind.

It seemed like a wonderland for them to grow up in. I mean we had such a short time to spend with them as children. Renesmee's almost reaching seven, she only has a few more years left, and Masen has only five short years for a childhood. He'll be a teenager by the age of three. He already looks like a seven year old. Lizzy is still young, but she already saw evil in the world...I think it'll be best if we raise them there. I'm sure Seth and Jacob could visit for the summers, or we could go to Forks in the summer. We could definitely figure something out.

"I want to go though," I proclaimed softly. "I want to raise the kids there."

"Are you sure?" Edward asked me to double check.

"Yeah...Could we maybe set up a vacation to head out to Isle Bella right after we tell them the news," I asked.

"Of course. Carlisle and Esme were even thinking the same thing," Edward said, agreeing with me.

"And I was also wondering..." I trailed off a bit, thinking of my ideas about college. I could take some online courses if we move there.

"Wondering about what?" Edward asked me.

"If maybe I could start some college program online or maybe private tutoring," I muttered.

"What would you like to major in?" Edward asked me, curiously.

"I was thinking maybe English. There are other possibilities," I said, shrugging."I could even go to medical school," I teased with him. This caused Edward to chuckle while he goes to kiss my temple.

"I'm not sure yet, but I would like to complete some sort of college course," I admitted to him. "I did really like the idea of becoming a teacher."

"Whatever you say my love," Edward said. "Plus I could always help you out with anything you need. I have been to college multiple times in my life." My husband then flashed me a crooked grin. I just shake my head in a chuckle before planting a kiss on his lips.

"Did I tell you I love you lately?" I teased.

"Maybe," Edward replied huskily, pecking my lips once more.

Once we pulled apart I got up from the couch and grabbed his hand. "Come on, let's check on Renesmee."

Edward then intertwined his fingers with mine and walked up the stairs to our daughter. Now my only problem now was telling Jake, and I wanted to tell him myself.

A/N: So like the Cullen's plans? I know I seem like a cruel person for taking Renesmee away from Jacob in a way, but I feel like this is something that the Cullen's need. Plus it has a play into future events, and Renesmee won't be separated from Jacob forever. She's still a kid and in my opinion she should enjoy it and be able to grow up. Jacob will always be there as her protector. I also knew from the beginning I didn't want Renesmee and the others in Forks long, so why not their own chain of private islands? Plus considering Seth and Lizzy's relationship or even Jacob and Renesmee's, I feel like the girls deserve some growing up before their feelings begin to spark. I'm happy to say that I have been pre writing and I finished Sunrise! Well I did, you guys didn't and now I'm starting Noon Sun, something I wanted to post by the end of the summer. So, if updates get a tad bit more frequent, like twice a week, that's why. I hope you guys like it and in the meantime please review and be on the lookout for more chapters :)
