Childhood is the fiery furnace in which we are melted down to essentials and that essential shaped for good.

Epilogue
Two years later...
Renesmee's POV
"Make a wish!" I heard my aunt exclaim through the darkness of the room. I closed my eyes tight as I then took a deep breath and blew out the four candles on my birthday cake.
When I opened my eyes the room was lit up again and I was surrounded by the smiling faces of my family and friends. They all clapped as they looked at me and cheered me on. I felt myself blush as I tilt my head in embarrassed.
"Happy fourth birthday my little nudger," my mom said as she came around to my side and went to give me a soft squeeze.
"Thanks, Momma," I said as she goes to kiss the top of my head.
I am officially four years old now, and I looked around the age of thirteen or fourteen. After my second birthday I slowed down a bit in growth, but not too much.
I only have three years left until I would be seven, and an official adult... well in hybrid years.
Putting it like that, we kind of sound like dogs...
I am looking more like my mom nowadays. My hair got a bit darker for some reason, it still had that unique bronze color, but did get a bit browner. It still is curly as ever, even though sometimes I try to straighten it when it can be a bit of a pain, but for the most part I keep it curly and let it grow down my back.
We have been living on the island for two years now, and life is perfect for us.
I have been getting home schooled by my dad, Grandma Esme, Grandpa Carlisle, and even my mother at times. All of us kids would head into the big library on Isle Cullen, and for about a few hours a day during the week we'd have school. My mom would be right after us with my dad when she was having private tutoring. She was planning to go to college once we're old enough. I'm guessing by the time I'm around seven years old.
Lily and Aidan grew up significantly too, and they looked to be about nine now, but Aidan looks a bit smaller compared to Lily at times. Masen looks to be around eleven since he's just sprouting all the time. It isn't long before he'll look older than me. Lizzy looks about four years old now. My sister is still the youngest out of us, physically, but she'll always be the smartest.
Even though Lizzy is still a small kid, Aidan still loves hanging out with her. Normally Lily, Masen, and I hang out with each other since we're considered the eldest out of the group and we just relate more. Ethan would even join us in hanging out sometimes. He's a really cool guy when you get to know him. In fact over the past two years I gained a brother in Ethan. He's one of those older brothers that you know will protect you and will drop everything to be with us and the family. He loves it here just as much as the rest of us, mostly because we gave him a family. Something he needed.
I smiled as my parents each gave me a kiss on the cheek and I heard a flash go off. After it did I frown to see it's my aunt behind the camera. Lizzy and Masen then come running over to sit right next to me.
"Come on, Ness, family photo!" Aunt Alice pouted as she waved the camera in front of me.
I sigh as I lean back towards my chair so I could bring both of my younger siblings under my arms. My parents go on either side of me, and we all smiled and posed for the camera. After the flash went off I decide to see if I could find Jake, for some reason he left right after the photo. The others were all pigging out on Grandma Esme's cake and goodies. I think even Uncle Emmett brought out the booze for the adults. Maybe one day I could be drinking some of that when I'm seven. I doubt my parent will let me though.
I hate it that even though I'm physically and mentally thirteen, my parents still treat me like I'm four. I know it's not fair that I grow fast, but I can't help it. Just like I can't help any urges that come with my physical and mental age, like my soon to be hormonal urges. I'm growing up, and I can't help the urges that come with it. It's just going to be in my nature to act like that. I know it sounds a bit weird, a seven year old looking/acting like she's seventeen, but as much as I wished I could've savored these years some more, I can't help but grow up.
Sure it'll suck having to become an adult in such a short time, but what my parents told me is that they want me to live before I finally settle down. And I agree with them. If I find my mate by seven years old I hope that we can live a bit more before we get tied down to the responsibility of becoming lovers and parents. Trust me, I want those things more than anything in the world, but I just want to make sure I lived a bit before I become committed to that life.
Even though I will have an eternity to do whatever I wanted.
An eternity.
It was such a long time, an eternity, and I wonder at times what I'll exactly do in an eternity. Maybe I could spend it helping people somehow. I always found becoming a doctor interesting, that could be a way. I'd be following my grandfather and father's footsteps.
I shake out all of my thoughts and decide to concentrate on my birthday. After all, I do have an eternity to think about this stuff.
I keep walking until I come by Jacob at the beach. He was in his black shirt and cargo shorts as he skipped rocks.
In the time that Jake and I have been apart, I have missed him a lot. I know my sister missed Seth as much as I missed Jake, but the two seemed fine. Seth is starting college this year and Lizzy is still a small child. The two are both still pretty young. Seth kind of aged a bit and looked to be about seventeen, but he plans to stay that way for Lizzy, so when she grows up they can be together.
Yeah, I know about imprints getting together. After all, Jake did tell me about us at the beach all those years ago when I was little. Anyway, I would have figured it out easily, just like Lizzy. We both got the observant gene from our mother. You see it with Sam and Emily, Paul and Rebecca, and Jarred and Kim. They all are together. I know somehow Jake and I were meant to be. Even though I know Jake and I are suppose to be together in the future, it doesn't mean that he's the one. It could just mean he'll be my protector for the rest of my life, even though my family says it's highly unlikely. But, I'm only thirteen mentally and physically. I have such a long way to go, and honestly I wasn't ready at all. I was young and Jacob was still pretty old for me, even though he was looked about seventeen.
I am willing to wait, and when the time comes for me to make the decision if Jacob is the one for me, then I'll make it. Hopefully it'll be the right choice. Right now I just want Jacob to be my best friend and my protector.
"Hey there, kiddo." I snap around to see that Jacob has noticed me. A small smile forms on his face as he sat down in the sand. I smile and decide to make my way over to him. I was wearing a short white sun dress and it was whipping in the wind as I made my way to him.
"Hey," I replied as I go to sit down next to him on the sand. The warm Brazilian sun hits my already heated skin as we sat there on the beach on Isle Bella. My home island. It's been my home for over two years now, and I love it just as much as I love Forks.
"I missed this," He said softly. I frowned and turned to look at him questionably. "Sitting at the beach together, you know," He said to me.
"Oh," I mutter, blushing like a ripe red tomato. Jake and I were both silent for a moment as we watched the foaming blue waves crash against the sand.
"Did you like your birthday, kiddo?" He asked, breaking the silence after a good ten minutes.
"I'm not a kid anymore, you know," I remarked, chuckling at the fact he called me kiddo.
"I know," he said. "Just a force of habit."
"Ah," I said as I grab some sand in my hand, letting some of it fall out of my grasp. I felt the salty sea scent brush my nose and the wind blow through my long hair. "You know I'm growing up," I said to Jacob as I let the sand completely leave my hands.
"You're only four," He reminded me. He turns to look at me with an eyebrow raised.
"I know," I shrugged. "But you do realize I have the mentality and the body of a thirteen year old. Just face it Jakey, I'm growing up."
He chuckles as he goes to wrap and arm around me.
"Yeah, you are," he said softly. I sigh as I lean my head against his shoulder.
We both turn our gaze towards the water where we then watch the blue waves once again crash against the shore. We sat on that beach for what felt like the longest time with the light from the Noon Sun shinning down upon us.

This family is the most powerful coven in the world, and I refuse to let them become even more powerful. The Volturi have ruled the vampire world for over a millennium! We will not let some silly little family take what is ours away.
