A small red clad figure ran around the paths of the village, dodging by passing villagers. The woman who walked and almost bumped into the energetic child, laughed quietly to themselves and smiled before walking off their way.

Kaede ambled out from a hut and noticed the half demon child run around her, then bounding off to another direction. The elder priestess smiled and chuckled,"Such a carefree child." She was helping with birthing a child of a family that had moved into the village a few days ago.

Rin followed suit and smiled broadly at the child who was only just a blur,"Makoto-kun is the opposite of Inuyasha-sama, ne Kaede-sama?"

The elder priestess nodded and smiled down at the girl,"Ay child, he is."

"Speaking of Inuyasha-sama, where is he and Kagome-sama," Rin had spoken too soon when they noticed a taller red clad figure race towards the same direction that the child had run off to.

They both stared wide-eyed as the half demon took a powerful leap, leaving dirt clouds in their wake. "It would seem Makoto-kun did something wrong," Rin stated.

"Possibly, but Inuyasha doesn't not seem to be angry," Kaede said, she turned to the right and began to walk away,"Rin, we must go and gather goods for the upcoming cold season."

Rin nodded and the two left to do their chores.

Inuyasha sighed, he knew that he wasn't causing any problems with the villagers, but he had never taught his son how to control his demonic speed and strength. He had to learn on his own when he was left for death when he was kicked out from wealthy estate where he and his mother stayed at.

"Makoto!" he shouted, clearly hearing the fits of laughter coming from his son. For such a small age, the young child was faster than his father, it must have been his active character. Inuyasha smirked when his son skidded to a stop, dog ears twitching to hear his voice.

Makoto smiled and turned around, plopping onto the ground when Inuyasha reached him. "You're a handful ya know that right," Inuyasha picked up his son and placed him on his shoulders.

"When is mama having pup?" Makoto asked his father. Inuyasha chuckled at the question,"It'll be a while when the pup comes." Makoto 'aw'd and placed his head on top of his father's soft white head of hair.

"I want pup to come now," Makoto whined, watching the tree branches sway, he closed his eyes and smiled. He couldn't wait for his brother or sister to be born.

"I know but try to be patient," Inuyasha whispered when he was hearing starting to hear the slow and even breaths of his son. Inuyasha slowly reached up and securely took him off his shoulders and carried Makoto in his arms.

With the sudden loss of warmth, Makoto clenched his fist tight and curled into his fathers chest with a smile on his face.

Inuyasha never imagined the day where he would be a father, but seeing his son in his arms, he couldn't help but feel overjoyed. He thanked all the gods for giving him such a gift, giving him a wife from the future and having a family that he never imagined of having.

Kagome was preparing pot of stew when she noticed her husband walk in with their son in his arms. She smiled at the peaceful face her son had, then her gaze went to her husband. "Was it hard to catch him this time?"

Inuyasha smirked,"Somewhat, he's getting bigger and faster. Keh he could outrun me someday."

Kagome laughed to herself,"My big strong and powerful husband can't catch his own son, I wonder what will happen when you need to catch our next child and Makoto."

"I bet this one will be calm like her mother," Inuyasha said, placing a hand on his wife's bulging stomach. Only five months were left before their next child will be born.

"How are you so sure this one is a girl, who knows, it could be twins," Kagome commented. Inuyasha kissed her forehead and then went to place their son on the futon to lay him to rest,"Twins huh? I wasn't sure if I could handle one." Inuyasha brushed the bangs of his son away from his eyes.

Makoto absentmindedly waved the hand off and turned the opposite direction. "But you are doing a good job with Makoto," Kagome said, watching the father and son moment.

"I guess," Inuyasha went over to sit by her and laid on his side to watch her. His elbow propped on the floor to hold his head up.

Makoto stirred in his sleep and opened his eyes slowly. He noticed his parents just near by and he slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes. Kagome noticed him and smiled,"Are you hungry sweet?"

Makoto hazily looked at his mother and nodded before letting out an exhausted yawn. He tumbled to their direction and sat down with tired eyes looking at them.

"The pup has been running all day," Inuyasha said, grinning contently.

At the mention of the word, 'pup' Makoto crawled to his mother and placed a hand on her stomach. "When is pup coming mama? Papa said pup will come in a while. How long is a while?"

Kagome wanted to swoop him up and hug him tightly for the cute dumbfounded expression he did, reminding her of a curious puppy playing with a squeaky toy.

"Not for another five months sweety," Kagome answered.

Makoto nodded and placed a hand on her stomach,"I promise to be the best big brother. I'll see you soon." Then his brows furrowed, wondering how long five months were.
