He watched as his mother was rocking his little sister in her arms. She was so tiny, all wrapped up in a burgundy blanket, her small hands poking out - that were always clenched in a tight fist.
The young Inu-Hanyou blinked various times, he wondered so much and when he did, his father would just get worried about that question that could be asked anytime soon.
Inuyasha sighed in relief, he recalled the time when Sakura and Haruka, Miroku's daughters had once asked their father that. The monk would've explained it, but it was better that he had stopped him before he could utter a word and let the girls mother explain it to them.
He looked at his wife and smiled, he loved the look in her eyes when she would hold Kisara or speak with Makoto. Even if his son didn't understand somethings and rarely said a lot of words, the bond between mother and child was visible between them.
It was getting closer to dusk and Kagome heard the small rumble in her sons stomach. "Are you hungry sweety?" Kagome asked Makoto, the young boy was patting his stomach commanding it to be quite so he won't be disturbed while he watched his sister in fascination.
Makoto looked at his mother and lowered his head. "Uh huh," she smiled,"I'll get you something to eat soon."
Kagome let out a little laugh, slowly passing her daughter to Inuyasha. "Call me if she starts to cry, it has been three hours since she ate," Kagome told him, kissing him on the cheek and walking out of the room to get lunch ready.
Inuyasha stared down at his daughter, her blue eyes looked into his golden orbs, then Kisara proceeded to babble on.
Makoto walked over to his father who settled himself on the floor so that he could look at his sister. Makoto tilted his head, then lowered his head to look at her with a curious face, seconds after he bursted in laughter for no apparent reason.
Inuyasha smirked when Kisara's eyes were like saucers when she heard Makoto laugh.
Makoto laughed some more and then finally settled down. Fifteen minutes passed and Inuyasha just held his daughter, Makoto still looking at her, but at times tweaking her dog ears. His small hand retracted to him and thought about what was he going to ask.
"Papa," Makoto looked at his father, interest flickered in his blue eyes. Inuyasha twitched his ear to indicate that he was listening.
"Where do babies come from?" Makoto asked.
Golden orbs widened at the question, then he side glanced down to stare at his son. "W-What?" Inuyasha nearly choked on his own words.
"Babies, where do they come from?" the young Inu-Hanyou asked once more.
Ah hell…Inuyasha cursed mentally. He gawked at the ceiling above them, what was he suppose to say to his son?
"Papa?"
Inuyasha cleared his throat,"Babies come from…uh…-"
"Boys, lunch is ready!" they heard Kagome shout from the hut. Inuyasha let out a sigh of relief.

Kagome positioned her daughter over the shoulder, supporting her head and neck, while rubbing her back in soothing circles. Kisara's belly was softly pressed against her mother's shoulder.
Makoto was watching his mother rub or pat his sister on the back. He scrunched his nose, wondering why his mother was doing that to his sister. He placed his spoon down in the bowl, having finished eating his meal.
Kisara was only a few weeks old and in her brother's eyes, she looked small and fragile. Makoto desperately want to hold her, but he settled on continuing to watch his mother pat her over and over slowly, until he heard Kirara burp.
While continuing to burp her daughter, she noticed her sons curiosity, Kagome smiled when her son had asked the question, 'Why are you doing that?'
"It's to release the trapped air she has in her tummy" Kagome told him, thinking about the explanation for a minute while watching Makoto's face change into confusion. She let out a laugh and smiled.
Inuyasha took the bowl from his son and his, along with his wife's.
"Mama, can I hold Kisara now?" Makoto looked up at his father with wide pleading blue eyes.
Inuyasha smirked, he glanced over to his wife who smiled in return. "Make sure you don't drop her, she is very small." Inuyasha was afraid that his son didn't know how brittle his newborn sister was.
"Okay, but I won't hurt her," Makoto stated.
"I know you won't pup," Inuyasha said, watching Kagome instruct him how to properly hold Kisara in his arms.
"L-like this?" Makoto asked, staring at his baby sister who yawned, blinking slowly while looking at him in return.
Kagome nodded,"Yes like that. Make sure you support her head." Kagome slowly fixed the position so that Kisara would be more comfortable in her big brother's arms. Makoto smiled broadly, he was holding his sister for the first time and he was really content that she wasn't cry like how she was when Miroku held her.
"You know, Makoto is really happy that he will have someone to play with," Kagome told her husband, while combing her hair with her fingers, putting it back to put it in a low ponytail.
"I bet he is, it makes me wonder if he'll ever have a younger brother," Inuyasha said, bringing her into his arms. Kagome laughed and rested her head on his chest. "Not for a while," she retorted.
The two parents watched as Makoto was vigilant as Kisara was sleeping soundly in his arms.
"Does he still talk to-…" Kagome trailed on, looking up at her husband. "No, he said that she is not here anymore," Inuyasha told her, then kissed her on her forehead. (1)
Kagome nodded and then gawked up at him for a moment,"Inuyasha, maybe you should start training him now, at least the basics like; hunting, sensing things, and his hearing, you know how Miroku-sama's daughters are always squealing in joy when they see him."
Inuyasha took the moment to think about it,"Alright, although it'll be difficult, he does get distracted too easily."
"Mhm..." Kagome agreed. Then she turned around to look at him seriously,"Now that doesn't mean you can teach him to fight."
Inuyasha groaned,"Right, he'll be learning when he's three." Kagome smiled,"Yes and- Oh look how cute," she squealed, instantly covering her mouth.
"Heh, yeah," Inuyasha said, putting his arm around her shoulder.
Kagome smiled at him. "You're getting soft you know."
"Keh a…ah, I- never mind," he said, slightly embarrassed at the truth. Kagome let out a laugh,"I love you."
Inuyasha smiled,"I love you too."
Makoto held his little sister, remembering the promise in his mind,"And I'll protect you a-and won't let anything happen to you because I'm your big brother. Sleep good little sister, we love you very very much."
