"So Kagome-sama and Inuyasha-sama had left to the other village to help Kaede-sama?" Rin said, holding the sleeping Kisara in her arms.

Sango nodded and was fixing Haruka's hair, Sakura was lying on the futon sleeping peacefully after having been sick all day.

"Ay, it is true, they should be facing a priestess, a dark one," a voice said. Makoto looked around and then his eyes rested on his shoulder, to see Myoga the flea sitting on his shoulder.

"Myoga-ji-chan, if you know this information, why didn't you go with them?" Sango asked the flea who cleared his throat, embarrassed at the fact that he wasn't with his lord.

"I was asked to stay here and protect young Makoto and Kisara," he informed her.

"You were scared," Makoto said, smirking at his father's vassal.

Sango and Rin exchanged smiles and knew the flea was afraid to stick around when it involved danger.

Myoga jumped over to Rin and peered down at the sleeping form of Kisara. "She has Kagome-sama's and Inuyasha's haha-ue's face," Myoga noticed.

He smiled and laughed in content,"I wonder if her blood is like Inuyasha-sama's." Soon after he said that, he was plucked away from Rin's shoulder and stared into blue eyes.

"I don't think so Myoga-jiji," Makoto stated, he didn't want the flea to suck his sister's blood.

Myoga was placed on the floor gently and the young Inu-Hanyou turned his attention on his little sister.

The flea sighed in dismay, perhaps he'd never have the chance to test if Kisara's blood was good like his Lord or the Inu no Taisho.

"Makoto you are very protective over Kisara-chan, ne? Just like your Otou-san," Rin commented with a small smile on her face.

Makoto puffed his chest in pride, eagerly nodding his head and her choice of words,"I promised that I will."

Everyones eyes had opened wide when the ground started to shake.

The familiar cry of 'demon' rang in the village, it was the worst time that a demon had to attack the village.

Miroku, who had heard the shouts and sensed the yōki moments before. He got up, holding Keiji close to him. "Sango," he went into the room where everyone else was. They had confused and terrified looks, especially the children.

Miroku slowly handed Keiji to his wife whose arms were already extended out to hold their son. "Miroku wha-" she was cut off when she notice him swiftly turn to the bamboo door, opening the flap to exit.

"Sango you stay with the children. Inuyasha would have my head if anything happened to Makoto and Kisara," Miroku dashed out of the hut, aiding the villagers that were trying to fight off the demon.

"Miroku!" Sango shouted, he couldn't do it all by himself, even if the village men had bows and arrows to distract the demon; there was no way that he can fight it alone.

Makoto tried to calm his sister down, telling her that he was there, that he won't let anything happen to her.

What do I do? What do I do?! He repeated in his mind, he wanted his mother and father with him, he just wished that he had some guidance.

"Rin-chan, please check on Sakura for me, she must be terrified," Sango pleaded the young teen. Rin nodded and placed Kisara on the futon being careful with the baby, her brother watching over her protectively.

Sango held her crying son in her arms, rocking him to calm down, saying soothing words to all three of her children. Rin walked into the room and Sakura ran over to them,"Mommy!" she cried, hearing the roars of the demon outside.

One human baby, one baby Inu-Hanyou, one little two and a half year old boy, two four year old girls, a thirteen year old, a demon exterminator and a one year old Inu-Hanyou sat in the hut. All hoping that this fight would end soon for their sake.

"Where is Inu-oji-san?" Haruka questioned her mother, gripping on her mothers kimono.

"He's with Kagome-chan sweety," Sango couldn't look at her daughter, she was too busy looking out the window from her sitting position and concentrate only on her husband. The demon slayer failed to notice a demon being hurdled to the hut before it was too late.

Sango used her body as a shield to cover the children from the wood that had been tumbling down and headed straight to them. She gasped when she felt something hit her shoulder.

She wanted to believe that it was a wood that had cut her shoulder, but the demon had grazed her shoulder when it came to.

"What's this? You harbor half breeds in this village," the demon sneered at Sango who grasped her bleeding shoulder.

"Mommy!" Haruka shouted, watching her mother fall to her knees. Sango was tougher than that, and she knew it, but she couldn't face the demon if that meant taking her eyes off of the children.

Then she remembered, turning to the first born of Inuyasha and Kagome, she pleaded to Kami that it'll work. "Makoto-chan, can you put up a barrier?"

Barrier? Like Okaa-san? The young Inu-Hanyou asked himself mentally. He moved closer to his sister when he noticed the demon lick its lips hungrily.

Blue eyes narrowed when the demon gazed at his sister, as if she were a meal up for grabs, hands clenched into tight fists at his sides.

"What a good catch," the demon said, grinning evilly and showing its four inch fangs to scare the children.

The demon moved closer to the huddled group, Makoto knelt in front of his sister.

Makoto growled lowly, although to the demon it just smirked in amusement. Sango would have used hiraikotsu, if it wasn't placed behind where the demon was standing. Damn, I do not like this at all, She thought, her brows furrowed in anger.

The demon outstretched his hands to get Kisara who was about to let out a ear piercing cry, if it wasn't for Makoto to slash the demons hand, drawing droplets of blood.

"You insolent little! I'll kill you!" the demon screeched. Its red eyes blazing with fury, out to kill the young Inu-Hanyou.

Makoto closed his eyes, mama had said I did this once, maybe I can do it again.

Sango saw the one thing that she had been wanting to see ever since the demon had entered, the young Inu-Hanyou managed to create the once powerful barrier he did before.

The demon was zapped backwards and out from the hut, and it was reduced to pieces before it complete vanished. Sango was wide-eyed and then looked over to Makoto who went back to watching over his sister. He let out a few baby growls when they would hear shouts of the men bellowing that the demons were no where to be found.

"Mommy, our house is destroyed," Sakura said, staring at the now half destroyed home of theirs, they could see the clouds above because of the partial roof above them.

"Are you okay?" Sango turned to her children, then asking Makoto the same question.

"Keh, stupid demon should know better," the Inu-Hanyou had said, causing the demon slayer to smile.

Miroku walked in, breathing heavily,"Is everyone alright?"

Sango looked up at her husband and nodded,"Yes we are- Makoto-chan!"

Makoto had fallen backwards and fell into a deep sleep. Miroku rushed over and studied the boy's features,"It's just fine, he overexerted himself. I saw the barrier he made earlier, it was a powerful one. I just hope Inuyasha doesn't have my head after we explain this to him."

Sango laughed,"We? I have to put the children to bed, then need their rest too after all that has happened."

"Monk!"

They heard an angered voice outside. Miroku gulped,"S-Sango, don't be so mean, help me explain it to-" he noticed his wife was no longer standing where she was.

"Sango-san already left to put Sakura-chan down, Miroku-sama," Rin said, gathering Kisara in her arms and left where the demon slayer had taken off.

Miroku let his head fall down in dismay, praying to the gods that the overprotective hanyou would let him explain what has happened. His eyes went to the passed out Inu-Hanyou on the floor, lips curled into a sly grin.

"He won't hurt me if I am carrying his son," he picked up the said boy and walked out.

Unfortunately, luck wasn't on his side that day.
