Another chapter minna-san. Thank you for the nice reviews. I wanted to update earlier, but there was some kind of error. This chapter is linked with the one-shot, The Joy of Being Santa Claus. Well…continue reading then :D
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha, but I do own Makoto and Kisara.

"Haha-ue, so it's true that…that San-uh-ta -Caus," black brows furrowed in pronouncing the name of the he was told, young Makoto continued on speaking," Comes this time of year?"
His mother nodded in response, busy with changing the set of clothing her daughter had on,"Yes."
"Chichi-ue said it's stupid and that he must be a demon if he can sneak in and out so quickly," Makoto said, crossing his arms like his father and his eyes wondered around the room, cautious of what he was told.
"Oh he isn't a demon sweetie, he leaves presents for the good boys and girls," Kagome said, finally putting on a light pink kimono top on her daughter, smiling when the girl tilted her head to the side.
Kisara babbled as her mother picked her up in her arms and rested her head on her mother's shoulder.
"This time of year, many families give their children or relatives presents," Kagome explained to her son and got up from the futon slowly, making sure she wouldn't topple over with her daughter in her arms.
Makoto quickly helped her and she flashed him a smile in thanks. Kagome looked around the room and she could've sworn she placed the kimono Ayame and Kouga had give her a few days ago.
"Makoto, have you seen the kimono Kouga and Ayame gave me?" she looked around, careful and aware of the baby Inu-hanyō in her hold, her brows knotted in confusion. Kagome turned to her son and Makoto shrugged,"I don't know."
"That's strange," Kagome muttered and shook her head,"Oh well, I will look for it later, everyone will be coming soon and I want to make them something to eat."
She walked out of the room with her son trailing behind her. Makoto twiddled his thumbs and his ears perked up when he heard his father walking into the hut. Also hearing the opening and closing sound of the shoji door.
"Chichi-ue!" he said excitedly and ran around his mother to greet his father who didn't expect his son to barrel into him. "Pup, watch out, I could drop some of the wood on ya," Inuyasha said, giving his son a look.
Makoto took a few steps back and waited until his father placed the wooden logs on the side. Inuyasha brushed his hands off and his gaze shifted to his son,"You've been a good boy today?"
Nodding expeditiously, the young Inu-pup threw himself at his father, who was ready to catch the boy. "You've been eating a lot," Inuyasha commented, holding the boy in the air.
"I have?" Makoto looked at his small cubby belly and smiled at his father,"Food is good to eat papa."
"Keh, I know that, you're haha-ue makes the really good," Inuyasha said, side glancing at his wife who placed her hands on her hips. She had placed Kisara down on the floor when Inuyasha had entered the hut.
"I would've liked to hear that when I was younger you know," Kagome said, stirring the stew with the wooden spoon.
Inuyasha smirked in her way and turned his attention to his son," I should take you to see Totosai." Makoto has heard of the sword-smith and he broadly smiled at his father,"Will I be getting my very own sword?"
Kagome turned her head over to look at her husband and son, she smiled and continued on preparing lunch. "Keh, if I do, you won't be using it until you're four..-" "Inuyasha."
"Keh, fine six," he side glanced at his wife,"And that's as high as I'll go." Kagome arched a brow and shook her head,"Alright, but he can't be wielding it around like a mad man."
"Keh," Inuyasha said and looked at his son who repeated the same action. Inuyasha chuckled and placed Makoto down onto the floor, then turning to the door.
"Chichi-ue, where are you going?" Makoto asked, following behind him. "The kit and the others are here," Inuyasha said. Makoto looked over to the side and smiled when he saw figures walking to their home.

A few hours later, everyone was settled down. "Okaa-san isn't going to like that," Shippo said to his little brother. Makoto lowered his head,"But I had a reason to."
"Okaa-san wouldn't be upset though, she's very forgiving," Shippo told him.
After everyone had settled in the hut, Kagome had passed bowls of stew to warm them up, the weather was getting colder and nothing was good to beat the cold than hot stew.
"Thank you for the kimono Sango-chan, it's very pretty," Kagome said, smiling at her friend. They had exchanged gifts and the others had done the same.
Miroku rubbed his chin,"Now what is this suppose to be…a dog?" he was given a drawing made by his daughters, it included the whole family. Haruka and Sakura pouted,"It's suppose to be Kirara."
"O-Oh, sorry girls," Miroku said. The twins smiled and hugged their father,"It's okay papa."
Kagome got up from her place in the hut and walked out of the home. Inuyasha followed her and crossed his arms,"What are you doing out here. It's cold out."
"I'm just thinking about some things, that's all," Kagome said, smiling up at him. Suddenly she felt something drape over her head and she slightly blushed. It was the kariginu, the outer layer that he would place over her whenever she was in danger. "You'll be cold too you know," she said, knowing fully well that he'll comment that he was different.
"Keh, but I wouldn't want you to get cold," he retorted. She gaped at him and hugged him,"Thank you."
"Here," he suddenly said, causing her to look at him and the item that he held in his hands, but they were shielding the item he had - being that his hands were clasped together. "What's this?" she asked.
"A present," Inuyasha told her, unclasping his hands and Kagome noticed a shimmer, blinking rapidly she noticed what it was. It was a diamond necklace.
"I asked Totosai to do this for me," he bluntly told her, blush spread along his cheeks and she took the necklace from him. "Inuyasha…I don't know what to say," she had no idea that he'd do something like that.
She raised a brow at him,"This is so unlike you." He crossed his arms,"Keh, well this is a time a giving ain't it?" Kagome laughed,"Yes, but I rather like to think of this day to spend it with the ones you love."
Inuyasha stared at her and he nodded,"I guess." Kagome leaned to him,"Merry Christmas, I love you," she closed her eyes and smiled to herself, feeling his strong arms hold her close.
"I love you too Kagome," he told her and they both turned around to hear the laughs from their son.

"You painted Miroku-oji-san's face Shippo-nii-chan," Makoto said, laughing at the face painted monk. Miroku grinned,"How very thoughtful, Shippo."
Haruka and Sakura laughed uncontrollably and tumbled backwards,"Papa looks funny!" Sango covered her mouth and laughed, holding Keiji in her arms.
Makoto bounded over to his sister,"Me-errr-rry Christmas Kisara, I love you little sister."
Kagome and Inuyasha walked in and settled near their children. Kagome was about to say the same to her son when she was cut short when she didn't expect...
"Love you," Kisara said, reaching up to her brother. Makoto smiled and jumped up in happiness, he turned his head to look out the window and his waved his head, but everyone was focused on the youngest child of Inuyasha and Kagome.
"Merry Christmas Oji-san," he mouthed. In the forest by the clearing, barely out of sight, the daiyoukai stood and he noticed his nephew stare at him. Just once, he smiled - a half smile - then turning to leave.
