[A/N: So it's official I'm back on a role with this story. I hope you'll pardon the length of this chapter compared to the rest, but Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of my very favorite Disney movies. Enjoy the chapter.]

The new world that they landed in had the same towering cathedral that Juliet had seen before they'd been swallowed by Monstro, but now that they were closer she could see the bells within it. However, when she looked out at the people that were in the cobblestone pathways she looked down at her own clothes and felt distinctly out of place. "According to Erik where in La Cité des Cloches and we are not going to fit in here at all."

Akio peered out behind Juliet. "I think you're right." He turned back to Clementine. "You think you could whip up a little something to help us blend in? You are good with magic after all."

Clementine giggled and blushed. "Oh you're just saying that."

As she continued to look out at the people Juliet saw two guards (one short and fat the other tall and mustached) coming towards them. "Really Clementine now is not the time to get flustered you need to change out clothes now."

Still giggling Clementine waved her hand and sent out a flurry of what looked like snowflakes at Juliet and Akio.

It took a couple seconds for the magic to take its full effect, but when Juliet looked down she saw that she was wearing a long sleeved red shirt with a low neckline, a blue skirt that went to her ankles, her feet were bare, and her hair was down save for two braids framing her face.

Akio likewise was looking down at his new clothes in confusion. "I'm wearing armor again." However, instead of the black and red armor of The Grid this armor was black and grey. He went to say something else when he was cut off by the appearance of the two guards.

The taller mustached guard looked down at Juliet with a sneer on his face. "What's a gypsy like you doing fraternizing with a soldier of the King?"

The shorter of the two gave Juliet a little nudge towards the street. "Why don't you move along Missy I don't think he wants to play with you anymore."

Juliet grumbled under her breath, but swept out from under the guard's grasp going up to Akio with a coy smile on her lips. "Meet me in front of the cathedral if you ever want to….you know have a little fun." She snickered at the blush that was growing on Akio's cheeks. Flouncing off (or at least pretending to) Juliet walked out onto the main road way looking up at the monstrous cathedral as she did so. Maybe Clementine is in there. She walked up the steps squirmed through a small gap in the doors.

The inside of the cathedral it was lit by several candles on pedestals with a towering ceiling that glittered in the faint light. It was very quiet, but there was the hushed whisper of prayers around her. Inching forward Juliet found herself tip toeing through the opulent hallways when she heard someone make a huffing noise behind her. She looked back to see a tall grey haired man with dark eyes and a thin face wearing a funny hat wearing long dark robes; on his fingers were two jeweled rings. "Can I help you sir?" Juliet didn't like the look of this man, but still tried to show him a winning smile.

The man only continued to frown at Juliet. "What is a gypsy heathen like you doing in a house of God?"

Looking around hastily to try and come up with a reason to be inside Juliet remembered the worshippers. "I'm here to pray. I'm afraid I've lost my way in life. Now you wouldn't turn away a lost lamb now would you?" Her feminine wiles had worked on Mortimer back in Timeless River maybe they'd work on this man too.

A muscle in the man's lip twitched perhaps in a smile. "I think you're lying to me, gypsy." He grabbed onto Juliet's wrist and tried to drag her out when another man's voice shot through the silence.

"Frollo, you will not touch her." The speaker was a thick bodied older man with only a small amount of white hair around his ears wearing long white robes. The Archdeacon had just come down the steps that led further into the cathedral and was hastily walking over towards Frollo and Juliet. He pulled Juliet away and got in front of her to block Frollo's view of her before turning to face her. "You'll have to pardon Frollo young lady. I thought he'd know better to respect the sanctity of the church."

Frollo only gave the Archdeacon a poisonous glare before sweeping away; black robes billowing out behind him. He stopped when he got the doors and turned around to face Juliet and Archdeacon. "Don't think you'll be able to leave without my noticing, gypsy." The door slammed behind him.

Juliet looked back at the Archdeacon in confusion. "Who was that?"

"That was Minister Claude Frollo. He is or should I say was a well respected member of the church, but-" He looked around to make sure the other people around were still engulfed in prayer before turning back to Juliet and leaning down to whisper in her ear. "About twenty years ago I caught him trying to throw a baby down a well after he killed the child's Mother."

"That's horrible. What happened to the baby?"

The Archdeacon started to walk back towards the stairs that he'd come down from. "Frollo took the baby in as his own for penance. He still lives here too. Perhaps he could help you on whatever kind of journey you're on."

Juliet quirked an eyebrow. "Who said I was on a journey."

"I know everyone in this city, but I've never seen you around before. You must be a traveler."

"I guess you got me. I am a traveler, but I'm afraid I can't tell you anything else. Don't want to get in trouble you know."

The Archdeacon only chuckled softly before he motioned towards the steps. "You might try talking to Quasimodo he could probably help you. In fact he's helping another young lady whom Frollo was trying to cast out earlier today."

Could be Clementine that he's helping. "Thanks, I think I can handle myself from here on out." Juliet waved goodbye to the Archdeacon before going up the stairs.

Once she got up the stairs Juliet saw multicolored lights coming down on her. She could hear voices coming from further in the room, but found herself more preoccupied with the little wooden table in the middle of the room. Walking over to it she saw that it was covered in small wooden people with a little wooden town and a slightly larger cathedral looming over the town. Juliet reached over to the cathedral and picked up a little figure who was standing in the window sill.

It looked deformed compared to the rest of the figures with a hunched over back and only one eye and a shock of red hair. "I wonder if that's Quasimodo?" Hearing the voices again Juliet crept a little closer to another set of stairs and went up them when she distinctly heard a woman's voice.

"A long life line oh and this one means you're shy. Hm hm hm hm I don't see any."

"Any what?"

"Monster lines. Not a single one. Now you look at me do you see anything evil?"

"No, no you're kind and good and and…."

"And a gypsy and maybe Frollo's wrong about the both us."

Juliet started to climb further up the stairs when she felt tugging on her skirt and looked down to see Clementine. "What are you doing here, Clementine? And what happened to you?" She said this in a hushed whisper.

Indeed Clementine looked quite a bit different the last time Juliet had seen her. She was now made of stone with two feathered wings coming out of her back and was wearing a one shouldered toga. "Well you see that spell I cast on us must have changed me into a gargoyle. There are three others here too, but if Frollo comes here they told me to hold still and not make a sound. Have you met Frollo? Oh, he's just awful. He treats Quasimodo like he's less then dirt."

"I've met him already. He tried to kick me out of here, but this other man saved me and told me to go talk to Quasimodo and I think I've found him." Juliet looked down at Clementine and made a shushing gesture. "Stay down here I'll be right back." Crawling up the ladder Juliet found a man who looked like the wooden figure she'd seen on the table crouched down with a pretty dark skinned woman wearing a white and purple dress. "Oh, did I interrupt something?"

The man she assumed was Quasimodo got up and walked over to her. "How did you get here? Are you lost?"

Juliet shook her head and crawled out onto the roof. "My name's Juliet. You wouldn't happen to be Quasimodo would you?"

"Yes, I am Quasimodo and this is Esmeralda." Quasimodo's brow knitted in confusion. "But how do you know who I am?"

"Lucky guess."

Esmeralda had been eyeing Juliet in curiosity for the past minute or so. "You must be a new gypsy around here. I've never seen you in the Court of Miracles before. Where did you come from?"

Juliet sat down near the ladder with her knees drawn up to her chest. "I'm not from around here."

Esmeralda didn't look very confused by this. "Oh you mean you're from Spain or England?"

Thinking back to when she'd been in the New World Juliet remembered hearing about this Spain place, but England didn't sound familiar. "Oh no nothing like that I'm actually from another world." She smiled feeling a little uncomfortable at the looks Quasimodo and Esmeralda were giving her. "Actually, I have two friends with me. A woman and a boy. I found Clementine she's down there." She pointed at the ladder.

A look of realization came to Quasimodo's face. "Oh I think I know who you're talking about. That new girl that Hugo was talking about. Is she tall with a braid?"

"That's her."

Esmeralda was busy looking over the edge of the roof. "It looks like if we want to get out of here now would be the time to go." She looked over at Juliet. "You're a gypsy why don't you come with me to the Court of Miracles?"

Since Juliet thought it would be a good idea to take a better look around the world it seemed like it would make sense to go with Esmeralda. "Sure, I'll go just give me a minute." She stuck her head back down the hole. "Clementine, are you still there?"

"You haven't lost me yet."

Juliet looked back at Esmeralda for a minute. "Give me two seconds I'll be right back." She crawled back down the ladder jumping the last few steps. "I'm going to go with Esmeralda to see this place called the Court of Miracles where the gypsies live. You stay here and keep an eye out for Akio. When I can I'll come back."

"Ok, are you sure you're going to be all right?"

"I'll be fine. It's not like I'm going to run into anyone too unpleasant." With that Juliet went back up the ladder.

Esmeralda was already on Quasimodo's back with her goat Djali in her arms; a cloth tied around his eyes.

Quasimodo offered Juliet one of his arms before jumping down onto one of the drain spouts. "Don't be afraid." This was directed at Esmeralda.

"I'm not afraid." She retorted back as the blindfold slipped from Djali's eyes.

The goat bleated in fright before jumping back into Esmeralda's arms.

"Now I'm afraid."

Normally Juliet was fine with heights, but the bouncing and swinging around was making her slightly nauseous.

They stopped jumping on one of the lower roofs so Quasimodo could catch his breath.

"You're quiet an acrobat." Esmeralda said this fondly as she patted his head.

Juliet however had been stunned into silence and was staring down at the ground before tightly shutting her eyes.

Quasimodo started to thank her when a roof tile slipped out from under them.

This time Juliet was screaming as they slide down the roof sending more tiles out from under them. There was a crash as the tiles hit another building and she heard guards down below going to check the alley.

With the same grace as before Quasimodo jumped down from the roof and landed at the feet of a statue. "Hope you weren't too scared."

"Not for an instant." Esmeralda sounded calm and almost a little excited from the events that had just transpired while Juliet was clutching her heart.

"That was kind of fun, but I don't think I ever want to do it again."

Quasimodo kept his attention on Esmeralda. "I'll never forget you Esmeralda."

"Come with us. To the Court of Miracles leave this place."

"Oh, no I'm never going back out there. You saw what happened today."

"All right so I'll come and see you."

"But the guards and Frollo…."

"I'll come after sunset."

"After sunset I clean the cloisters and ring the evening mass and-" Quasimodo was cut off when Esmeralda kissed his cheek. "Whatever is good for you."

Esmeralda reached for something around her neck and pulled out a large woven pendent. "Just remember if you ever need sanctuary this will show you the way."

"But how?"

"Just remember when you wear this woven band you hold the city in your hands." Esmeralda turned to Juliet. "Come on we better get going before those guards come back."

Meanwhile Akio had met up with the Captain of the guard a man by the name of Phoebus. He was standing in the doorway of a house when he heard a deep baritone voice talking to Phoebus. Akio inched closer and pressed his ear to the door to get a better listen.

Frollo was with Phoebus on the other side of the door and wasn't bothering to lower his voice since he didn't think anyone was eavesdropping. "Dark times are falling upon us Captain Phoebus. I fear the gypsies have unleashed a horrible monster."

There was a slight tone of distress in Phoebus's voice. "You mean the monster that's been attacking the townspeople? How can you be sure that the gypsies are the ones calling it?"

"You underestimate their ties to the Devil my good Captain."

This wasn't making much sense to Akio, but he needed to be able to slip away to tell Juliet about the monster. It's probably a Wraith and if Wraiths are in this world that means Puck and Antonia are probably around here somewhere. It couldn't hurt to poke around too much. As he started to walk away Akio heard the door open and heard Phoebus call out to him.

"Where are you off to soldier? We still need to finish our rounds."

Akio sighed in defeat before turning back to Phoebus. "Right, of course what was I thinking?" He was trailing behind Phoebus who had gotten onto his horse.

"So, where are you from? You must be new around here since I haven't seen you before, but then again I've been gone for the past decade."

Since he hadn't been telling anyone which world he was from it didn't take long for Akio to come up with a story to tell the Captain. "I've lived on the outskirts of town most of my life and I thought it was time I did something with my life so why not become a soldier."

Phoebus chuckled to himself and slowed his horse's pace so that Akio could keep up. "So, you must have family around here then."

"No, my Mother is dead and I never knew my Father."

"Any brothers and sisters."

"No, I'm an only child."

Phoebus was quiet in thought for a minute. "Do you have anyone special in your life right now?"

"Special? Nope, can't say I do." Akio looked away when Phoebus stopped the horse and looked down at him. "What?"

"The redness in your cheeks is saying otherwise. Come on spill it what's her name? What's she like?" There was a seriousness that came to Phoebus's face. "Don't tell me she's a gypsy."

Akio only crossed his arms over his chest. "There is no one special so they couldn't be a gypsy." He tried to ignore the curious smile on Phoebus's face. "Just drop it ok?"

This only made Phoebus laugh more. "Calm down solider I was just joking." He squeezed the sides of his horse. "You look like you're the type to take life way too seriously. You need to relax and live a little."

Thankful for that the conversation was over Akio did relax a bit. "So where exactly are we headed, Captain?"

"I have some business in Notre Dame that I need to attend to."

Remembering that Juliet had said that she would be going into Notre Dame Akio thought it would be best to follow Phoebus to the cathedral. "Hopefully Juliet is still there and maybe she's found Clementine."

"What was that?"

"Nothing."

As they approached Notre Dame Akio thought now would be a good opportunity to slip away. Akio waited until he saw Phoebus go up a set of winding stone steps before creeping over to where a few people were still praying. Looking down at them Akio thought it best that he keep quiet until he saw a familiar looking person with their back to him. "Oh, don't tell me….Puck?"

Upon hearing his name Puck turned around to face Akio. "Oh, its you. What do you want?"

"What are you doing here?"

"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm praying." A thoughtful almost sad look came to Puck's face as he turned his gaze back to the candles that were around him. "I've always found this world to be soothing especially this place." This time his tone did sound sad. "I can't even remember where I came from. All I've ever known is darkness."

Akio was feeling a bit skeptical of Puck's admissions, but never the less wanted to trust him. "So why don't you leave the darkness behind and try fighting for the light?"

Puck raised an eyebrow and stood up. "No, the light isn't for me. Those who are born in darkness have to stay in it until they die. And when they do die their body is returned once again to the darkness." He began to walk past Akio who was staring at him in confusion. "Likewise those who are born in light are fated to forever be in its shining glory."

Trying to process what Puck had said Akio watched him walk past before he summoned a dark portal. "Wait a minute. Would you happen to know how a monster got into this world?"

A knowing smile came to Puck's lips, but it was unseen by Akio. "Maybe I do maybe I don't you'll have to figure it out."

"Tell me."

Puck turned around with a board frown on his face. "What would be the fun in simply telling you everything? Where's your sense of adventure?" He didn't wait for a response from Akio and walked through the portal.

Akio turned around in time to see it disappear and ran a hand through his hair. "What was he going on about? Who knew someone like that could be a prolific thinker. Anyway I was here to look for Juliet and Clementine." As he started to walk over to the steps he saw Phoebus coming back down. "Did you find what you were looking for?"

Phoebus had a strangely calm look on his face. "What? Oh, yeah I found it. By the way you're off duty so you can go about your business."

Waiting until he'd seen Phoebus leave Akio turned and began to walk up the stairs. "I need to find Juliet and Clementine so I can tell them that Puck was here and that he's probably set a Wraith loose." Going up the steps Akio could hear Clementine's voice and apparently she was talking to three people named Victor, Hugo, and Laverne. He poked his head up at the top of the stairs and waved over at her. "Clementine, come here."

Clementine looked apologetically over at the other gargoyles. "Will you excuse me for a minute someone's calling me." She went over to Akio and leaned down so that they'd be eye level. "What are you doing here Akio? Wait, don't tell me. You were here with that handsome blonde Captain weren't you?"

"Yes, but how did you know that?"

"I'll never tell. Anyway what's up? You find something out?"

"Actually yes. You remember Puck right?"

"Who?"

"Oh that's right the last time I saw Puck was in Space Paranoids and you weren't with us then. Anyway Puck is one of the bad guys and I just saw him again."

Clementine still looked quiet confused by this. "So what about him?"

"He called out a Wraith and he's been having it attack people."

There was a thoughtful look on Clementine's face. "Do you think we should go find Juliet?"

Akio slapped his forehead. "Of course we should go find Juliet."

She looked back at the other gargoyles. "I think I have to go."

The fat one waddled up to her with the taller one and female bringing up the rear. "Are you sure? We were just getting to know you."

"Yeah, sorry, but if I don't go something really bad could happen." Clementine tried to hop down the stairs only to fall down landing on top of Akio. "Sorry…"

"You're heavy." This came out in a wheeze.

"Sorry. I think I know how I could make this better." Clementine rolled off Akio and cast another spell on herself changing her stone form to that of a gypsy. "Better?" She was wearing a green blouse that slopped at the shoulders with a blue skirt.

Akio sat up, but was rubbing his stomach in pain. "Quiet better. Now let's go find Juliet." He started to walk off when he realized something. "You wouldn't happen to know where Juliet went would you?"

"Haven't a clue."

Akio blanched. "So you were just going to let us go out there having no idea of where to even start?"

Clementine only laughed at the look on Akio's face. "I knew you'd be smart enough to ask about if I knew where Juliet was so I wasn't worried." Her smile started to droop when she saw the angry look on Akio's face. "Don't worry I know someone who would know where she went. Give me a minute." She scurried back up the ladder. "Quasimodo, you wouldn't happen to know where Juliet went would you?"

Quasimodo had been in the middle of carving a new figure when he looked over at Clementine in confusion. "Weren't you a gargoyle? Oh, never mind this night has odd enough. Juliet? She's going with Esmeralda to the Court of Miracles."

"I see….and that's where exactly?"

Quasimodo reached into the collar of his tunic and pulled out the necklace that Esmeralda had given him before she'd left. "I guess if you took a look at this it would help."

Clementine crawled out of the opening and into the room. She was quiet good with maps of all kinds, but this peculiar necklace was giving her some problems. "Ok, I think I know where I'm going." Giving the necklace a final look she handed it back to Quasimodo. "Thanks for your help."

Waiting at the base of the ladder Akio saw Clementine's feet coming back down. "So what did you find out?"

"She went to a place called the Court of Miracles and I'm pretty sure I know how to get there from here."

Meanwhile Juliet and Esmeralda had reached the entrance to the Court of Miracles when Juliet heard growling coming from behind them. "Why don't you go ahead? I want to check something out." She waited until Esmeralda had gone into the entrance before walking further out into the cemetery; Keyblade slightly raised. There was a snuffling sound coming from behind one of the headstones and she walked cautiously over to it. Peering over the top of the headstone Juliet was surprised to see a stray dog sitting behind it. "Oh, it was only a dog. Had me worried there for a minute." She crouched down in front of the dog and put her hand out. "What are you doing out here?"

The dog peered up at Juliet for a moment before whimpering, putting its tail between its legs, and running off.

Juliet hadn't noticed this at first, but there was a large misshapen shadow looming over her. Now that she had sensed that something was behind her Juliet spun around Keyblade at the ready.

The sight that greeted her was what looked like one of the gargoyles had somehow pried itself loose from Notre Dame, but its eyes were glowing red and the fangs were elongated down below the jaw line.

"Oh, so that's what scared the dog. Nothing I haven't seen before." She gave the Keyblade a toss smacking the Wraith in the nose before it swung back into her hand.

The Wraith (known as the Deadly Gargoyle) gave a roar before swinging one of its claws at her nearly knocking Juliet down to the ground. It opened its mouth and began to spew thick purplish fumes which surrounded Juliet in a matter of seconds.

Juliet was coughing hard and sputtering with her over her mouth. Poisonous gas huh? That's new. She was struggling to get to her feet only to be knocked down again by a noxious wave of gas. Maybe this isn't such a good position to be in. Attempting to get to her feet again Juliet was knocked down by the Wraith's tail.

Deadly Gargoyle was snarling down at her and raised a clawed foot to pin her down.

"Is this the end? Am I going to die? I guess my life was pretty good. Didn't get to do everything I wanted to do, but I guess it's not too bad." Juliet closed her eyes ready to feel the creature bite into her neck when she heard it snarl in pain. She opened her eyes to see the Wraith lashing out at someone else.

Thanks to Clementine's navigation skills both she and Akio had found their way to the Court of Miracles with relative ease. Akio had been the one to attack the Wraith first with Clementine bringing up the rear.

Taking advantage of the Wraith's confusion Juliet stabbed it in the foot and rolled out from under its foot.

The Wraith was snarling in rage as it spewed more of the poisonous gas in their direction only to be smacked upside the head with a bolt of lightning magic from Clementine. It roared again swinging a clawed hind foot nearly knocking Akio off his feet.

The fight wasn't exactly fair since it was three on one, but the Wraith was quite a bit bigger than them and could spew poisonous gas. However, it wasn't impervious to magic or physical attacks and after a good smack on the base of the neck with Akio's disk it decapitated the Wraith. Although the Wraith was without a head it was still going swinging its long clubbed tail around.

Clementine got slapped in the back of the head by the tail and fell hard to the ground. She lay there stunned for a few minutes before struggling to her feet and healing herself.

Since the beast had been decapitated it only took a few more minutes for it to fall to the ground dissolving in a puff of black smoke.

Juliet was busy having her wounds healed by Clementine when she heard the entrance crack open again.

Esmeralda along with a man wearing a gold earring and a purple hat with a goatee were peering out. "What's with all the noise? What were you three doing up here?"

Recognizing Esmeralda, but not the man with the hat and earring Juliet went over to the entrance. "Were any of you aware that there was a Wraith in your world?"

"I don't know what a Wraith is."

"Of course you don't." Juliet turned back to Akio and Clementine. "Since we still haven't found anything in this world I think its time for us to go."
