She knew they were speaking about her and about the moon. Kisara scrunched her nose and busied herself with the flowers that surrounded her.
Her brother was in a tree somewhere, she would've thought he was a monkey or something other than a dog demon.
"Well, young Kisara is one years old, and there is a new moon approaching," her dog ears twitched to her Myoga the flea say, Kisara tilted her head to listen to the conversation a little better.
Inuyasha had his sleeves in his kariginu, brows furrowed at the thought of him, his son and daughter, turning into humans for the night.
"Will it hurt her?" Kagome asked Myoga who took a sip from his tiny cup of tea.
"For the ones such as Inuyasha-sama and Makoto, it didn't hurt, but I am not sure about Kisara milady. I've only stayed with Inuyasha-sama during his times of the moonless nights and I've never been around a female hanyĆ during her time of turning into a human," the flea retorted.
Kagome looked at her daughter and gave her a smile,"Well, we'll see if the transformation causes her to be disturbed by it. I'm sure that everything will just be alright."
Makoto had sneaked behind his sister and spooked her, and she had jumped up - spun actually - and hit him on the head. "Ow!" Makoto shouted, his brows furrowed and he smirked as his sister fell back.
Kisara pouted and then crouched down, now on her hands and feet, she smiled and pounced in front of him. "You can't catch me big brother!"
Makoto spat out the dirt that went in his mouth, he almost didn't notice his sister scurry off,"Hey! No far! Cheater!"
He ran after her and they both went into the forest to play.
Kagome and Inuyasha watched their children play with each other before they turned to see Kaede and Rin walking their way.
"Hello, how are ye doing in an afternoon such as this," the elder woman smiled at the couple. Rin bowed and greeted them when she stood next to the older miko.
"Fine Kaede-ba-chan, we were just discussing about Kisara's first transformation," Kagome informed her with a smile of her own.
Kaede nodded her head, turning it to the side to watch the children disappear into the forest,"I see. I'm sure things will be fine."
"Oi, I thought you didn't want to jinx it, Kagome." Inuyasha had said, his brow relaxed and his eyes looked attentively at his wife. Kagome opened her mouth and then clamped it shut.
"But those certain things don't happen, at least, I don't think they do," Kagome said, mainly to herself, but she knew that her husband was listening to her.
"What does 'jinx' mean?" Rin asked in curiosity, the things she had heard of Kagome's world, it made her very inquisitive.
Kagome gave a soft smile to the teen and began her explanation. Inuyasha sniffed the air and sighed,"Wait here. I'll be right back."
The others nodded, Rin and Kaede had sat right in front of Kagome and listened to what the young miko would say. Myoga jumped from Kagome's shoulder to Inuyasha's,"Inuyasha-sama, we mustn't take to long."
"I know that," Inuyasha snapped, quickly running into his forest in search of his children. "The sun is setting milord," Myoga said, worried as he watched the sun dip down behind a nearby hill.
Inuyasha growled,"If you're so damn worried, why dont'cha wait here with the others."
Myoga pondered on what to do, but before he can make his decision, Inuyasha dashed to continue looking for his children. The half demon could already feel the familiar transformation, it was ere he than he expected.
"Damn it," he mumbled under his breath, he could hear his vassal informing him to hurry,"Relax Myoga-jiji. I can't concentrate with you jabbering in my ears."
Myoga had beads of sweat troll down his head and sighed.
"You can't catch me!" Kisara shouted, jumping up and shooting into the air, landing on a branch and laughing happily.
"Kisara! Wait up!" Makoto yelled, he had a sudden feeling wash over him, like it always had when there was one day of the month. Makoto stared at his hands and noticed his claws turning to normal human nails.
"No, or else you'll get me, and that won't be fair!" Kisara retorted, hollering from her seat on the branch, she smiled victoriously and then grinned down at her brother.
"No more games Kisara! This is important! Haha-ue and Chichi-ue were talking about our weak day and it will happen in a few seconds. Just come down here!"
Kisara hinted desperation in her brother's voice and she pursed her lips to think about it. "Okay!" Kisara started to go down slowly, it was dangerous to jump down from branch to branch, never knowing which one was right to support her weight.
Placing a foot on the closest branch to make her way down and she gradually moved from one branch to the other. "I'm coming down," she informed Makoto, still continuing her actions.
Makoto sighed in relief, but it was not even a second when he felt powerless, useless and weak. He didn't want to think about what came to his mind, his eyes were gazed at his sister's form but they trailed down to see his now black hair flowing in his face.
"Oh no," Makoto whispered, his now golden-brownish eyes trailed up to see his sister freeze as she stopped on the second to last branch.
"M-Makoto," Kisara muttered, she felt afraid and alone all of a sudden. Her eyes gazed over to see that there was no moon in the dark sky. "I'm here!" her brother's voice rang loud enough for her ears to hear.
"Oh thank goodness," Kisara said, letting out the breath she held, she didn't know what was so 'special' on a night like this one. She moved to the last branch, that was only eight feet in the air, she gulped and felt her foot slip.
"Ah!" the girl let out a short frightened scream, as she held on to the branch for her dear life.
"Kisara! Hold on!" Makoto shouted, trying to figure out a way to bring her down safely. "I'm not dumb!" Kisara retorted, feeling her fingers slipping from the branch. She squeezed her eyes shut, fearful of what will happen after.
Inuyasha had heard the scream and ran as fast as he could,"Myoga, could you tell me where they are?"
The flea demon squinted his eyes and pointed out where the children were, it was even more daunting to see the young dangling from a somewhat high branch.
"Damn it," Inuyasha cursed and then what made him feel as if he were tumbling down a cliff, was watching his daughter slip and fall. "Kisara," Inuyasha jumped, with every strength he had and caught the trembling and crying girl.
"Chichi-ue," Kisara said, burying her face in his robe of the fire rat. It was no doubt that the girl was afraid of the moonless nights. "It's okay now, your safe. Everything will be fine," Inuyasha whispered, carrying the girl back to where the others, who were overly worried out of their lives.

Thank you everyone, this story won't be one of the stories that I'll put on my profile every Sunday to see which stories would want to be updated. Ideas just come as they go and settle when I have a pen and paper in my hand. I placed a picture of how Makoto will look like, the completed one, now I am not that good of a drawer, but I think it came out okay. It's on deviant art, under the same pen name as here.
Until then! Review, and let me know how this chapter was, I appreciate it!
