Author's Note

Hello minna-san! It has been a short while since I updated hasn't it? Well I did get to post another chapter, so instead of me babbling on and on, enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha, but I do own Makoto and Kisara, and even Naoko, strange ne?

"Hello my name is Kisara, what is yours?" the inu pup ran from her mother's side to the girl with chestnut hair and silver eyes. Kisara smiled at her and outstretched her hand to the girl that shuffled nervously on her feet.

"N-Naoko," the girl said shyly. She played with her fingers, her eyes constantly glancing up at the inu-pup and her brother who walked over to them.

"Naoko-chan, which village did you and your Okaa-san come from? Is it outside the Musashi Province? Did you have trouble getting here? Where is your Otou-san, I don't see him with you." Kisara was pinched on the arm by her brother who gave her a serious look.

Kisara glared at Makoto, but then he motioned his head to the girl and she noticed the sad look in her eyes. "Naoko-chan," Kisara whispered, her blue eyes glazing down at the ground, she should've known. Naoko's father was deceased and it is always dangerous for a human parent to protect their half demon child when the demon parent is dead.

Kisara was told of how life was very difficult for her father when her grandmother died when he was just a child. "I'm sorry," Kisara told her, her eyes hidden from behind the white bangs that cascaded over them.

Naoko gaped at the girl and gave her a small smile and shook her head to the girl. "It is alright Kisara-chan."

"Kisara-chan! Makoto-chan!" various calls were heard simultaneously.

Three heads turned to see a group of children running to them. Kisara smiled broadly, and she waved her hand in the air watching as Sango's children trotted to the three of them. Makoto took a step forward to the group of children, but then glanced over his shoulder at the girl.

"Oi, what are you standing there for, come on they won't hurt you." Naoko jumped when he motioned her forwards, but nonetheless followed him and his sister. She stared at the back of his head in curiosity. It has been at least two weeks since she and her mother were kicked out of the last village they stayed in.

Although, here in the high priestess's village, they allowed half demons and it made her feel safe. For once in her life, she wasn't insulted nor was her mother, she felt normal like she finally found a place where she belonged.

Tears began to sting her eyes and she reached up and wiped them away with the palms of her hands. Makoto smelt the air and turned around once more, he tensed when he saw her wiping her eyes and they were covering them.

"W-Why are you crying?" he asked hesitantly, like his father, he didn't like it when humans - much less his sister - cry in the open or around him. Naoko shook her head, but the tears didn't stop and they ran down her cheeks.

Kisara pushed her brother to go and help her out, she smiled when he glared at her and he scratched the back of his head, uncomfortable of the situation he was placed in.

"Kisara-chan, who's that?" Sakura had asked, looking over the girl's shoulder to see Makoto struggling in talking to the girl who began to weep. The girls lips twitched into a smile and she giggled as the silver haired half demon effortlessly failed in stopping the girls cries.

"She's Naoko-chan, she's also a half demon like me and my onii-chan, she and her okaa-san arrived at the village just now. My chichi-ue said that most half demons have trouble with humans and demons, she must've gone through that before." Kisara looked down at the ground, remembering a time where she was insulted and hurt verbally by a group of village girls that were staying in the village for a couple of days.

Haruka walked over to her twin sister and the young inu-pup, she placed a hand on Kisara's shoulder and gave her a smile causing her eyes to crinkle a little. "But we will be there for you Kisara-chan, we don't care what you are, we like you just how you are."

Kisara let out a giggle and hugged the girl, causing all of the sadness she once felt vanish in the blink of an eye,"Thank you Haruka-chan!" The said girl patted the crown of her silver head, mindful of the sensitive ears on top.

"Children, I thought I had asked you to wait for me," a woman with long brown hair up lower than her rear end, kind brown eyes softened when she reached her children who cried out in happiness for her.

"Sango-oba-san," Kisara said, smiling at the older woman that turned to face her. Sango held Keiji's hand, and the boy smiled at her and greeted her along with his mother.

"Haha-ue is with Kaede-sama, it was good to see you Sango-oba-san," Kisara said and took off to the others who were starting a game. Keiji tugged his mother's green skirt, and informed her that he'd play with his siblings and Kisara as well.

Sango took the moment to stare at the children, and waddled - yes she was expecting her seventh child - and she irritably wanted to beat her husband with hiraikotsu when she found out. Although, she was happy that she was with child again, and also content that her children was ecstatic of her expecting.

"So ye were troubled with a group of monks, correct?" Kaede arched a brow in questioning as she looked at the Harumi, who nodded at the high priestess's words.

Harumi glanced over to Kagome, she was smiling as she watched her children and her child playing together. "Yes, it would seem that they are upset, I've heard that there is a half demon that has gone delirious in the Western Lands. I heard the monk's name was Ungai. It would seem that the half demon's - demon blood gain control, but there is no way to stop him."

"Have ye seen this half demon on your travels?" Kaede asked her, watching her inattentively and noticed the women nod. "I have Kaede-sama, he was being - um surrounded, b-by the monks and I was afraid that if I were to cross them they'd hurt my little Naoko. Unfortunately, one of his followers faced me and almost purified my little girl when she tried to help me escape when two of his followers held me by my arms, claiming that she controlled me and something of the sort."

Kaede nodded grimly, holding her chin with two fingers and her brows furrowed,"Did ye notice how this half demon appear?"

"I know he had white hair like snow," Harumi began to say, thinking back to the previous night when she was headed to the village. She mumbled partly but then cleared her throat to continue. "And has the likeness of your children Kagome-sama," She turned to the said woman who nearly lost her balance when she stood next to Sango.

The demon slayer and priestess gasped, in horror of the news they were told. "L-like my c-children," Kagome stuttered, her heart rate increasing and she began to tremble in shock. Sango held her shoulders and tried her best to calm her down.

"Y-Yes," Harumi told her, as her eyes trailed down to the ground, it was the same look she received when her demon mate was injured and died days after.

"Harumi-chan, did this half demon accompany a monk?" Sango asked the woman, she helped Kagome try to calm down. But, Kagome's eyes glazed with confusion, and worry over her husband.

"No, I didn't see a monk with the half demon," Harumi retorted and shook her head. Sango nodded and helped Kagome to the hut,"I am sure Inuyasha is fine Kagome-chan, you'll see. Kaede-sama, can I let her rest on the spare futon in your hut?"

"Ay child, ye may Kagome-chan looks pale, a good rest will do her good. Harumi, come in child and have a cup of tea. Nothing will happen with ye's child, I do not sense a demon near the village so all is well."

Harumi nodded and followed them into the hut, she glanced at her child who was talking with the group of children and the two inu-pups. Harumi smiled when her daughter began to laugh at a comment made from the silver haired girl who pointed to her brother.

"She'll be just fine, now."

"Kisara-chan what is this game you speak of, do we really need to hide from him?" Naoko asked, finding herself in the bushes hidden from view with Kisara, who covered their mouths to suppress a laugh. They were playing a game that wasn't known to the others, one that Kisara's mother told her of and Makoto was 'it' and the others had to hid.

Kisara held a small clawed finger to silence the girl when her ears twitched to hear footsteps near the bush they hid in. Kisara's blue eyes wandered up and then she smelt the air, realizing it wasn't the scent of her brother.

Her eyes contracted when she and Naoko were pulled from the back of their kosode's, and were face to face with a man with purple robes like Miroku's. "Hey put us do you big meanie, don't you know that it isn't polite to do that to kids," Kisara said, struggling with the grip.

She knew it wasn't right to hurt a monk, well knowing that she a half demon and they could purify her in an instant.

"What did you find," a new voice said as she and Naoko faced a man that was slightly younger than Kaede. Kisara gulped at the sight of the man who scrunched his nose upon seeing them.

"Hm…half demons near a village such as this, this is not well." The monk said when Kisara was placed on the ground, but what startled her was when she tried to move. Although she couldn't feel her body, she couldn't move her legs or even her arms.

"What should we do with them master?" the monk who pulled them out of the bushes asked.

Naoko trembled at their stares, she stood near Kisara but what she didn't like was that they were possibly alone in the forest. Where was her mother? Was she alright? Would she notice that if the children that belonged to the woman she saw earlier went to the village saw that she was missing? Questions rambled in her mind as she trembled even more.

The 'master' took a step back and then looked around as he raised his shakujō staff in the air, faced at the girls. Kisara's eyes widened in fear,"Onii-chan…"

Ungai paused when he noticed the girl's mouth move and muttered something that couldn't be heard in his ears. "Master Ungai, is there a problem," another of his followers had questioned, stepping to his side and look at him.

"I thought- hm," Ungai began to say, raising his staff again to the girl with brown hair, but then in a flash it was broken in half and the other part fell to the ground and collective gasps rang in the silence of the forest.

"You aren't going to harm her or my sister." the monk heard and his eyes dilated at the sight of the inu-pup that stood crouched before him, sword in hand and his fangs bared at him. Naoko gasped and Kisara smiled weakly as her brother was standing in front of them, one hand extended out to protect them and the other holding his sword that was pointed to the group of priests.

"It is that half demon from years ago," a follower had announced and the group of men started to move closer to corner them. Ungai raised his hand to stop any further actions they would have done, as he peered down at the child.

Ungai noticed the green shimmer surrounding the three half demons, he observed as the two half demon girls were able to move and look fearfully at him. "My chichi-ue wouldn't like it if you hurt my sister, and neither would my haha-ue. Houshi-sama, leave before I get angered…please," Makoto said, seething each word as he took a step back to hold his sister's hand, and trembled when Ungai moved forward.

"I think it was a mistake of mine to let you go years ago." Ungai had announced, peering down at the half demon boy.

"And I think it was a mistake that my chichi-ue let you go unharmed!" Makoto sneered. Kisara gasped and whispered his name to tug him backwards. Makoto noticed the desperation in her movements and the look of panic in Naoko's eyes.

Ungai looked at his broken staff and stared over his shoulder at his followers. He turned around and walked away from the three half demons who almost let a sigh of relief, if it wasn't for his followers that began to circle around them.

Makoto grunted when he felt a small jolt of pain, this is what Miroku-oji-san told me before, how his followers purify demons.

He watched as Naoko fell back on to the ground and his sister collapsed right after. Makoto growled, as he was being brought to his knees, but he wasn't giving up.

"Haha-ue," his ears twitched when he heard Naoko call for her mother, but then he shook when another wave of spiritual energy harming his demonic side. Makoto growled in anger and the barrier that he created widened and caused the men to skid to a stop and step back.

"Unbelievable," they whispered amongst themselves and prepared to restart their positions, but Ungai stopped them. "That's enough," Ungai said, walking to the half demons that were on the ground panting for air and waited for their energy to return. He stopped in front of the girl with brown hair and silver eyes. Naoko shook when he reached for her when he paused in his actions.

"Stay away from her," he heard the boy say as he struggled to stand. "I won't let you use your powers to hurt her."

Ungai eyed him and realized the answer to the question that bothered him for all those years. "There is no need for us to stay. Let's leave, I sense the boy's father arriving, let's be off." His followers didn't reply but agreed and followed their master.

Kisara fell onto her back and blew her hair out of her face. "Thank you onii-chan." She turned to see her brother helping Naoko up and she frowned, but then smiled and then moments after she heard her father shouting for them.

Now I've got something to tease him about.
