"In the spring when
the flowers bloom
their scent is carried in the wind
You stand by me, with my hand in yours
as we go off beyond tomorrow…"
Silver bangs with black tips flowed softly, as a five year old Inu-pup sang softly to herself. Her eyes were closed, enjoying the sweet sensation of the wind and the fresh smell of the forest after the midnight rain.
"Kisara-chan!" The young Inu hanyō heard a voice call out to her, as she laid on her back, her eyes opened and she stared at the clouds.
Using her arms to pull herself upwards, Kisara noticed Naoko running to where the silver haired girl sat. Naoko had been in the village, along with her mother, for about a week and things were as normal as it could be.
"What are you doing here by yourself, Kisara-chan? Isn't that dangerous, being alone?" Naoko asked her, settling down next to her, sitting in a 'w' position.
"I'm not by myself, my onii-chan is up there." Kisara pointed to a tree where only a blur of red and white was seen. Naoko's silver eyes trailed to see the silhouette behind the leaves and smiled when she noticed blue orbs staring at them.
"Hi Makoto-kun!" she waved at the boy who nearly lost his balance on the branch he used to sit on, watching over his sister to protect her from any danger. The sword that was made for him rested on his shoulder, held tightly to him. Upon hearing the girl calling out his name, he scrunched his nose and turned his head to the side, but his blue orbs would trail to the girls that sat below.
"Eh? Did I do something wrong?" Naoko wondered, bringing her raised up hand to her and letting it drop on her lap. Her lips curved down in a sad disappointed smile when the boy didn't reply.
Kisara shook her head,"Onii-chan is like my Chichiue, so that's his way of saying hello." Kisara covered her mouth to suppress a laugh when her brother shot her a glare in her direction. Kisara stuck her tongue out at him and turned to face her attention on the girl who sat next to her with a solemn posture.
"Naoko-chan, is something troubling you?" Kisara asked, tilting her head sideways in curiosity. Naoko remained silent, her silver eyes still glued to her hands, and didn't look up to the questioning eyes of that of the Inu-pup.
"Are you feeling all-right, Naoko-chan. Are the other children in the village bothering you?" Kisara questioned. Knowing fully well of how the girl must feel if the children were talking behind her back.
The Inu-pup didn't care what they said about her and her brother, as long as they had friends like Haruka and Sakura, and their siblings, they would be fine.
"I just feel like they hate me, I hear them talking about my…ears and that I look funny with them." Naoko closed her eyes and sighed. "I thought this village was different, I guess they feel uncomfortable with me around."
"Keh! Why do you care about what they say?" her eyes opened to see Makoto standing in front of them, hands crossed and his brows furrowed. Makoto's eyes narrowed at her and he turned his back on her.
"It's because I'm different, that's why I care. They talk bad about my haha-ue, even about my chichi-ue and he is not in this world!" Naoko blurted out, tears threatening to fall down as they gathered in her eyes.
"So what, I'm different, but I don't let it get to my head. Those human kids, are just a bunch of brats, don't listen to them." He told her, sitting cross legged on the grass. His ears twitched to hear her gasp in shock.
"Onii-chan…" Kisara whispered, staring at him in awe. Makoto looked at his sister and his mouth curved down a little. "They said something about yo-"
"It's nothing Kisara, be quiet." He snapped at her, his eyes hidden from his bangs, as his dog ears drooped. Kisara fisted her hand and unclenched it, she then reached out and tugged a lock of his hair.
"Stop trying to be so strong, having every emotion bottled up inside of you, I hate that! You idiot! You tell me to ignore them and I do. But no matter how hard I see you try, I know how you feel Onii-chan. You act tough, but they hurt you as much as they do to me. Why haven't you told Chichi-ue yet?" Kisara bellowed, causing his ears to pin to his head.
"I don't want to upset him. Chichi-ue, he's…already shaken up about what happened with that monk. Especially since Kaede-obaa-chan said that mama was expecting, I don't want him to worry so much. I heard things are difficult in the West. That old toad Jaken came yesterday, apparently Sesshoumaru-oji-sama needs Chichi-ue." Makoto said, slightly smirking when his Uncle's vassal came scurrying through the village.
An amused smirk was now on the Inu-pup's face, remembering Jaken tripping when he met his father at Kaede's hut.
"Chichi-ue will understand, Onii-chan. Um…when is mama having the pup?" Kisara asked, wondering how it'll be to be an older sister. Then curiosity got the better of her as she continued to question her brother. "Does Chichi-ue have to go to the Western Lands? Who would be there to protect the village?"
"Kaede-obaa-chan will or mama, I don't know. Sango-oba-san can't help, she has all of her kids. Miroku-oji-san is busy with the exterminating he does with Chichi-ue some times," Makoto said, placing his sword on the ground.
"That is too much work for Kaede-obaa-chan," Kisara said, looking at her brother, concern crossed her features for the elder miko.
Kisara stretched out her legs, placed her hands behind her head, and laid on the ground to watch the clouds form shapes. "I love the spring, all the flowers will bloom again, and no more cold weather."
"Mhm," Naoko silently agreed, nodding her head, her eyes trailed to notice Makoto glancing at her. She froze and looked down at her hands, blushing that she stared at him.
Kisara looked at the two and smiled, she rose her hand and placed it on her cheek, sighing in confusion. I don't get it.
"Naoko," Makoto said, getting the girl's attention and noticed her looking at him. "You know that you belong here now right?" He asked her, putting his hands in the long sleeves of his haori.
Naoko's eyes widened in surprise and she then smiled,"I know, now." Thank you, Makoto-kun.
Makoto sniffed the air and he got up, quickly gathering his sword in his hands when he noticed a familiar dragon yōkai soar in the air above them.
There was also a figure gliding beside it and an imp riding of the dragon demon's back. Kisara got up and jumped in excitement,"Sesshoumaru-oji-sama!" Naoko stood up slowly, watching the silver haired dog demon graceful land on the ground.
Naoko gulped in fear and clasped her hands together, holding her hands to her chest, and nervously bitting her lip. Kisara-chan's and Makoto-kun's Oji-san. He's the Lord of the West! She thought, realizing who the tall demon was and gaped at the Lord.
Sesshoumaru noticed his niece and nephew run to him and looked down at them. "Where's your father," he questioned the pups and they exchanged looks.
Kisara glanced up at her Uncle,"Chichi-ue is speaking with Haha-ue." Sesshoumaru gave her a curt nod and all of them turned their attention to the Inu-hanyō that stopped feet away with his wife in his arms.

"Inuyasha I said I was fine," Kagome smiled at her husband, putting her hand on his shoulder, trying to get him to relax.
"You sure? It is better if you take a nap, wouldn't want you fainting everywhere," Inuyasha told her, afraid that she'd faint like she had that morning. Kagome sighed in despair and shook her head. "Dearest, there is nothing wrong, I didn't drink enough water yesterday and I guess I got up too quickly when I woke up."
The miko placed her hand on her forehead and Inuyasha turned, putting his hands on her shoulders. "Are you alright?" he asked worriedly. Kagome looked at him and smiled,"You worry too much," the palm of her hand was on his cheek.
"Keh, I have to, you're expecting another pup. I don't want you getting sick." Inuyasha pulled her into an embrace, his chin on top of her head and he closed his eyes.
Kagome blushed and her smile broadened. "Dearest do you really have to go?" Inuyasha held her tightly, afraid that she'd disappear,"Yeah…Sesshoumaru wants me to go, there are problems going on there, but I'll be back soon."
"Promise me that you'll be safe," Kagome mumbled in his haori. As much as she didn't want him to go, he was the son of the great dog demon Inu no Taisho, and he needed to deal with the conflicts that were being dealt with.
"Of course, just stay out of trouble, let the old hag take care of the demons. Stay with the pups, Makoto's barrier will protect you if there's trouble." Inuyasha told her.
Kagome nodded and felt him step back,"How long will you be gone?" She then asked him.
"I hope it ain't for long, I don't want to leave you and the pups by yourselves for too long," he said, kissing her on her forehead, then resting his on hers.
Inuyasha's ears flicked when he heard a roar, one that was recognized to be Ah-Un, and he gathered his wife in his arms. "He's here," he whispered, then running out of the hut.
Kagome was startled when she was suddenly pulled into her husband's strong arms, and took off. "Dearest, please go a little slower, for the pup." Inuyasha smiled at her and nodded.
Once they found where Sesshoumaru had landed it was right by the clearing where they lived, and they saw their children and Naoko standing near the dog demon.
Kisara rubbed Ah-Un's nose and smiled,"Hello Ah-Un." She giggled when the dragon demon lowered down and growled softly at the girl, closing its eyes at her soothing touch. Jaken looked at the Inu-pup and harrumphed.
"Hello to you too, Jaken-sama," Kisara turned her head to the side, her hair falling over her shoulders, and smiled widely at the imp. "I don't have to answer to…" The imp stopped talking when he was hit over the head.
Makoto frowned at him, his mouth curved down but twisted, and his eyes narrowed. "Finish that sentence and you'll be lucky to have one hit."
Jaken gaped at the pup and raised his staff in annoyance. "All right you bothersome pup. Let me be and leave Ah-Un alone. Be off and go chase a stick or something." That earned him another hit on the head, but not by Inu-pup, but his father.
A vein pressured in Inuyasha's forehead, his balled hand shook near Jaken's head. "Dearest, I'm sure he didn't mean it," Kagome said, leading her husband to the Daiyōkai.
"Keh, we ain't dogs," Inuyasha grumbled and let his wife walk him to his half brother, and resume discussing on the conflicts in the Western Lands.
Sesshoumaru looked at his sister-in-law and then at his brother,"She's expecting." Kagome nodded and smiled at him. Sesshoumaru nodded,"We will be returning in three moons."
Kisara ambled to her father and tugged on his hakama,"Chichi-ue, you will be here when the pup arrives, right?"
Inuyasha scooped up his daughter and gave her a small smile,"Course I will be here. Take care of your Haha-ue, make sure she doesn't get hurt." Kisara nodded and fist-pumped the air. "I will!"
Inuyasha then looked over at his son, placed his daughter on the ground, and kneeled down to look at him. "Be a good boy to your Haha-ue, alright pup."
Makoto nodded and hugged his father as he hugged him. Naoko shuffled uneasily on her feet. Jaken looked at the girl and rubbed his chin. "You're a half demon too."
The girl jumped when he suddenly said that, and appeared near her, then nodded to his question. "You look familiar, you're - were - Ryota's child. He died long ago or so I've heard."
Naoko gave the imp another nod and stared at the ground. "Hm…your father was a powerful, but instead of taking a full demoness as his mate, he chose your mother. I guess I'll never understand why full demons choose human mates," Jaken said, not really knowing why he began to talk with the half demon girl. "But when we crossed paths with him, he looked proud and happy."
Naoko turned her head to the side, glancing at the imp. "He was happy for having a half bre-..demon as his child. You don't look so weak, you have his ears and eyes."
Naoko subconsciously raised her hands to her ears, they appeared to be flower petals on the sides of her head. Makoto growled at the imp who held his hands in defeat, not wanting to upset the Inu-pup. "Your father was one of those flower demons that served Lord Sesshoumaru, a-and hand the same kind of ears you have, and eyes. They hold a powerful attack and that was all I was going to say," Jaken said, mainly to the half demon girl, but he was nervous that the Inu-pup would hit him on the head, again.
Makoto growled, eyes narrowed at Jaken who gulped harshly.
"We'll be off," Sesshoumaru announced and began away. Kisara held her mother's hand and waved goodbye to her Uncle. Inuyasha turned to his wife and Kagome smiled reassuringly. "We'll be fine." She said.
Jaken hurriedly ran, holding Ah-Un's reins, to Sesshoumaru to stay near the lord to follow.
"Stay safe, I'll be back before you know it," Inuyasha whispered and kissed her, causing the children around to cover their eyes.
"Chichi-ue," Makoto and Kisara groaned.
"Yeah yeah, you'll whine about it how its gross now, but when you're older you'll be going to her," Inuyasha said, smirking at his son and motioning over to the brown haired girl who tensed and blushed.
"Like I'll ever do that," Makoto muttered and crossed his arms. Naoko nodded,"I don't like him like that Inuyasha-sama."
Kagome let out a laugh and playfully hit her husband on his shoulder. "I'll be right here waiting for you, my dearest." Kagome watched him slowly walk away to where the demon lord was standing at the edge of the forest, then disappeared in the trees.
Kagome placed a hand on her flat stomach and smiled, We'll be waiting for you. She hugged her daughter that stood close by her and Makoto who walked over to them. Kagome held out an arm to Naoko who smiled at her and ambled to them.
She hugged the three children and smiled softly. It won't be long.
"We better not take too long Sesshoumaru," Inuyasha grumbled, watching his family disappear as he went into the forest, following his half brother.
"It will only be three moons, Inuyasha." Sesshoumaru unemotionally said, keeping a expressionless look on his face.
"I know, but I have something to go home for," Inuyasha retorted.
