The UNIVERSAL BONDS

Previous chapter:

Giotto aranged a meeting with all of the families the Vongola had linked, he wasn't really going to tell them about his identity. Unfortunately, his tongue slipped, causing confusions. In the mean time, after Tsuna had met with a mysterious woman calling herself Vanita, he heard about how Lampo's family had been attacked, and Lampo's currently missing.

If there was something that Sawada Tsunayoshi was really afraid of, it would be losing his friends.

"What did you say?" His eyes—blue and filled with terror, widened abruptly. "Lampo is missing?" mouthed the words clearly, checking if his hearing was true. Come to think of it, when was the last time he or Giotto cleaned their ears?

Forget that, it's not important. And it's a bit gross, anyway.

More importantly, G's answer:

"Yes, you moron! Get yourself ready and we're going to Lampo's home! I'll gather the other guardians as fast as I could so, hurry up!" with such tone, the demanding right hand man of Giotto yelled, sweating, worried as much as Tsuna is.

"O-okay!" Tsuna squeaked, hurriedly entering Giotto's room, preparing all of the things he would need for the upcoming battle. Damn.. how could this kind of thing happen? I was just gaining information from Vanita-san—

His sky blue eyes widened,

"I am called Vanita, Cozart Shimon's Cloud Guardian."

Gritting his teeth in annoyance, he cursed. "Curses, I was tricked!"

"There's no such thing as Shimon's cloud guardian! Why didn't I realize that at the beginning?" He ruffled his hair with panic. "Ash, it was a trap. I'm such an idiot." But why did my Hyper Intuition didn't work? As great as they are, they can't do that..

Wait, why did they use 'cloud' guardian? If they want to fool me longer, they should have used the truth instead. Is there any deep meaning of it?

"GIOTTO. WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING? GET YOUR ASS HERE RIGHT NOW DAMNIT."

Ash—I forgot about G. He sweat dropped. I guess I'll think that on the way there.

"That damn cow, always getting troubles." G mumbled in his breath, lighting a cigarette.

Asari smiled, calming G down. "Maa, it's okay. We just need to get over there as fast as we could."

"Tch, I know that." The right hand man stated. "Talk about a good timing though, Alaude's in French, Daemon's in Japan. And God knows where Knuckle is." G rolled his eyes. "Asari, you were tending the injuries with him, right?"

"Yes.. but he got a call from our branch in America, he should be on his way to the airport right now."

G released his breath., his red eyes traveled to Asari and Tsuna. "Actually, when I was working on some paperwork that someone left irresponsibly—" Tsuna coughed."—I found a strange letter."

"Letter?" Tsuna and Asari shared the same question.

"Yes, letter." G continued. "I brought it here, take a look."

When the full moon comes, clams and flies shall clash.

The end of all time journey.

Come to your Lightning guardian's residance.

They will guide you.

-Shimon's Cloud Guardian.

"There's no such thing of a Shimon's Cloud Guardian." G said. "This must be an imposter, leaving a very big hint." He grumbled, annoyed by the enemy's lack of danger. "Are they mocking us? Our closest family is Shimon so they did that? Fuck. What kind of person that won't notice such thing?"

Tsuna felt an arrow pierced him. I didn't notice though—

Asari read the letter once more, and made his opinion on it. "This could be a trap." He mumbled. "Judging by the 'clams and flies cshall clash', the clams should be us, the Vongola. And the flies should be... Calesse."

The two of them flinched. "Calesse?"

"Maybe this is a trap, heading over there is risky but it's the only way. Maybe 'they' in the letter means their spies/mafioso." The Japanese man thought, putting his finger on his chin. "However, I don't get this 'the end of all time journey' is it some kind of a riddle?"

At Asari's sentence, Tsuna, paled immediately. Could it be? Giotto-san did mention about this before..

Flashback.

"So how did we switched souls, exactly, I wonder?"

In the dark, empty, spacious room, Giotto and Tsuna had met in their minds and discussed many things together, even though it was only one time. Before they parted ways, they had talked about how did they end up switching souls.

"I don't know." Tsuna answered Giotto. "I was on my way home, and I parted ways with Yamamoto and Gokudera-kun, I slept at my room and the time I woke up I was already in your body, Giotto-san." Tsuna's face flushed, remembering how he passed out after seeing the reflection.

Giotto nodded. "I see... As for me, the Vongola and the Calesse family—our ally once, fought in a war. When it reached the end, I fought with the boss. Of course I won against him, but when I went to my friends, someone from the Calesse shot me with a bullet, I had no time dodging or agility to do that and I ended up passing out."

"Same as you, I woke up in your room, meeting Reborn and your friends." He chuckled.

Flashback ends.

"...Time journey." Tsuna mumbled.

"Huh? What did you say, Giotto?" G stared at his boss, eyebrows raising. "Have some ideas, pal?"

Tsuna quickly shook his head. "Uh no, not at all." He laughed nervously. "It's quite confusing." The Calesse..

The guardians hmm-ed, accepting Tsuna's answer. But, deep in their heart, they felt that their boss is lying, hiding the biggest truth from them all.

"Well, they did quite a beating." G commented, watching as the medics searched for any person in the ruined residence. He scratched the back of his neck, "After all the way, and no clues of Lampo and his family, shit.."

"Mr. G." A British doctor walked to G, Giotto, and Asari. "Excuse me, but I have found this." Speaking in English, he gave G a piece of paper.

G replied with a fluent English, his accent, tone and intonation right on the spot. After the doctor left, Asari asked G what's in the letter as the reply was;

The guide -CLOUD

With no oxygen, a color so rich.

Gleams clear under the sky.

It is unlimited, the capacity.

"... The ocean?" Tsuna said, after reading the paper, gaining attention from G and Asari immediately. Blinking at their gaze, Tsuna sweat dropped. "Urh, I guess this is some kind of a riddle, guiding us to the next place, so—"

Asari thought. "You're right, it makes sense..Smart of you, Giotto! To figure it out that fast."

"Pft, any pre-schoolers can answer that." G laughed, patting Tsuna's shoulder hard. "Yosh, let's go to the ocean. There's an ocean near Lampo's residence, let's go."

As they walked to their vehicle, an arrow with fire headed to their cart and before they knew it, their cart was already burned with raging fires.

"What—" Asari widened his eyes.

"Asari! Quick, use your Mezuryu Kawagure—or something!" G exclaimed, panic obvious in his voice.

"And how is that possible?! And it's Kuzuryu Kawakuzure, not Mezuryu Kawagure!" Asari replied, twitching because of G. "Someone, bring some water, I'll try to redeem this somehow."

While the others tried to exinguish the fire, Tsuna tried to locate where did the arrow come from, as he saw a movement above the trees. He activated his HDW mode and went to the trees, only to find a squirrel.

"Tch." Tsuna cursed, and he thought he would end this!

The Calesse family knows about the time journey—or the fact that Giotto and Tsuna had switched souls, if he caught that person right away, there might be a chance—

The squirrel chirped, gaining Tsuna's attention, and that's when Tsuna realized that the squirrel was holding a piece of paper.

He quickly snatched it, and read it. Look carefully with your eyes.

His eyes traveled around the place, then he stopped, finding something. Near to them, was the ocean.

... And there was a huge pyramid on it.

Can't it be more obvious? He thought, sweat dropping.

There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile.

He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.

He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,

And they all lived together in a little crooked house.

The three of them were silent, trying to figure out what did they mean by writing this nursery rhyme.

As soon as they extinguished the fire, they had left for the pyramid immediately. What kind of sick man build a pyramid in the ocean?

I don't know why but this reminds me of Yaiba.. * Tsuna thought, sighing. Furthermore, what they found before entering the pyramid was a nursery rhyme written on the pyramid. "What does this mean?" Asari thought deeply, not figuring it out. "This isn't a riddle.."

".. Let's just enter." Tsuna suggested, earning a question from his right hand man.

"This isn't like you, entering without making sure if it's safe or not. Have you figured it out?" G asked, arms crossed, his eyebrows furrowing. "Giotto usually would.."

At that, the Decimo flinched. Had they figured it out, already?

"G..!" Asari hushed him, warning him to not continue. "Giotto, just forget about what he said. Let's just enter."

"Oh- okay." Tsuna nodded, and the atmosphere was a little better.

But how was he supposed to act more, when the guardians are already aware of it?

He can't take the circumstances of Daemon founding out about the future, nor the others..

If they do find out about it, what would the future be?

Omake.

"Dame-Tsuna." Reborn suddenly showed up in front of his student, making Tsuna shrieked and fall down from his chair. Reborn sighed at his student's lack of courage and shook his head. "tch tch tch, to fall down from a chair. What did I teach you, Dame-Tsuna?"

Tsuna paled. "I get it, I get it, Reborn! Don't shoot me." He grumbled. "So? What's wrong, Reborn?"

The hitman smirked.

Tsuna could only twitch. The last time he did that smirk, it was the time when Reborn forced-asked him to read the story, Jane the Killer and Jeff the Killer. And it was one of Tsuna's depressing moments, he couldn't sleep for days! It was quite embarrassing, acting like a kid but it was a horror story, he couldn't take it.

"Play this." The baby hold Tsuna's laptop, and pushed it over to his face, so Tsuna could see a better sight of what Reborn was pointing to. It was a game: the cover had a man with short brown hair and seemingly depressed blue eyes. His face was covered by his bangs, his mouth was slightly open. There was a black hand print below his neck. The man's neck was crooked. And the background was filled with words tinted with red- blood color.

"The Crooked Man!" Reborn chirped happily, as Tsuna's soul came out from his body.

Reborn chuckled, "Wimp." and brought Tsuna's soul back.

"B-but Reborn! I'm gonna die if I play that game-" A gun was pointing right on his face. ".."

The baby could only smile sheepishly. "This is training, Dame-Tsuna."
