Giotto would like it if there's going to be a feast after this, and a delicious one at that.
If getting a full course tortu—no, training from Reborn, without any breaks wasn't hard enough, then he doesn't know what was. From the start, he didn't know how to use the boxes and how the future works now. He got a brand new contacts, that's supposed to help him in doing X Burner. Every time he used it, his head would be spinning afterwards, it made him so dizzy.
And all of the brand new techniques, equipments, and he almost barely made the day.
"Dinner's ready!" Nana called out from downstairs. He thanked the heavens for that, his stomach was already demanding for food aggressively. Giotto slapped himself, trying to look as energetic as possible for Nana—the woman went through a lot without knowing anything, the least he could do with the bruises was convincing her that he's okay.
"Primo, is the training too hard?" Reborn asked, walking side by side with him. "Hmph, you already look like a wimp—just like Tsuna. You're Primo, the training shouldn't be that hard."
Giotto sighed. "Sorry. I just need some time to get the hang of these new equipments. It's not like it's normal for someone to suddenly cope with the world, hundred years later."
Reborn didn't speak another word after that, it seems like he was deep in thought.
Dinner was as always, delicious. Nana made the best homemade dishes, and Giotto loved that fact. He never had the time to eat homemade dinner from a mother before, he didn't have one. In the HQ, he would just eat some dishes made from the chef, but the taste was different.
Tsunayoshi, I wonder if he's doing alright with my guardians. Giotto thought, running a hand to his spiky hair. Oh man, I smell. He pinched the bridge of his nose, disgusted by his own sweat. He should shower before going to study—
"Stupid, stupid I-pin!" Lambo cried out, his tears trailing down the floor as he ran. I-pin was chasing over him, looking guilty. Giotto wondered what they did again, it must be nice, youth... "Stuuuppid!" And Lambo pulled out a... bazooka from his hair? Giotto couldn't believe his eyes.
"Ah! Lambo—" Giotto spoke. Did he intend to hit I-pin with a bazooka? It's dangerous! Fortunately, Lambo tripped on his own feet, but it didn't stop the bazooka from firing to I-pin's way, Giotto flinched and let his instinct took over him.
Sadly, his gloves wasn't there, and he was hit by it.
Strangely enough, it didn't hurt at all. But when he opened his eyes, he found himself sitting on a chair, facing six grown men and one woman at the room. He blinked, his lips parting.
"Ah. Lambo did it again." A rather tanned man with short black hair and hazel eyes laughed, looking at the other black haired person in the room, except his hair was curlier.
The so called Lambo twitched and looked at the other way, trying to look nonchalant. "Well, it is my old self, after all."
"Which doesn't make any difference." A silver haired man mumbled, his emerald eyes looking straight at Giotto. "Tenth, we're sorry again that Lambo did that again—"
Giotto mumbled, "I'm... in ten years later." So this must be the Ten-Year Bazooka.
Gokudera raised his eyebrow, "Of course. It has happened a lot, right?"
"Kufufu, it happens a lot to Tsunayoshi Sawada, but not to him." Mukuro stated, his laugh as creepy as ever. "Right, Chrome?"
Chrome nodded shyly, glancing towards Primo.
Everyone widened their eyes. "So Primo is now extremely in Sawada's body!" Ryohei concluded, his voice loud which made Gokudera twitch his eyes.
"Hm." Hibari looked away, not interested.
"So this is the time, huh~" Yamamoto smiled, putting his hand below his head as a support. He looked older—of course, his eyes were more mature, and his face looked broad. There was a scar below his mouth. "This is after his betrayal…?"
Gokudera sighed. It seems like in the past few years, he had become more composed. "No, you idiot." He scratched his back of his neck, "If I remember correctly, it's before. This is while Primo's still training, the same as Tenth. But yeah, he'll betray in this short time…"
Chrome interrupted, worried if the boss would be confused. "Um, Primo. This is ten years later… Lambo-kun used a bazooka—"
"The Ten Year Bazooka… right?" Giotto managed to say, looking upwards. "So this is the Vongola, ten years later at Tsunayoshi's time…" He observed the guardians' faces, half smiling.
Hibari rolled his eyes, and sighed. "I'm tired of this." He mumbled, irritated. "Omnivore." He called Giotto, as the latter glanced to him. "Don't get too shallow."
Seeing the confused look on Giotto's face, Gokudera chew his lips. "Someone will come. He's dangerous."
"Someone?" His eyes furrowed. "Who do you mean?"
When the storm guardian was about to answer his question, a smoke appeared, and he was sitting there at the floor—the Sawada's household. Lambo and I-pin were already gone, maybe to play some more. However, Giotto failed to realize the eyes of the worried mother widening towards him.
"Tsu-kun?"
Giotto was never a man to curse. But this time, he couldn't help but to curse at his fate.
Oh fuck. Today wasn't a good day for him—besides the harsh training, he also tripped while holding a few groceries, luckily, the groceries were unscratched. And other than that, an upperclassmen of Tsuna tricked him and resulted his wallet to gone missing. Giotto frowned, he never had these kinds of misfortunes before, and he was quite the lucky guy at the past. He's seriously going to search for a fortune teller after this.
Ah. To think of it, Tsunayoshi has quite a misfortune. Maybe, he was starting to become more and more like him? Oh no. Giotto paled.
Nana continued to stare at him for a few minutes, her eyes blinking. Damn—how many did she see? Giotto confessed about his identity to the others; Varia, Millefiore, Arcobalenos, Cavallone, etc. But the last thing he wanted to do is confess about the mafia to Tsunayoshi's mom.
He heard the fact that at the Representative Battle, the Vindice attacked her. However, after she was fully recovered, her memory was erased—none of them wanted her to know about the mafia. They wanted her to keep being oblivious about the things going behind her, for a peaceful life for her. He didn't want to ruin it.
"I should have sworn I saw a young man looking like you before a smoke appeared…" Oh dear God. Giotto wanted to bury himself alive. "Oh well! Maybe it's just my imagination."
Giotto heaved a sigh. It's better if she doesn't know. It's better if she doesn't know…He continued to calm himself with some kind of a ritual.
"Tsu-kun. You should stop moping yourself there! Geez, what are you doing to be in the future?" Nana complained. He's going to be a mafia boss…Oh damn, I feel so guilty now.
"Haha… I wonder about that too." Giotto answered halfheartedly, feeling the energy drained from his body. He just wanted to sleep. A warm hand made contact with his forehead, he flinched.
Nana frowned at him. "You're not having a fever. But your eyes look so groggy, and you look tired." She analyzed. "Did you not sleep well?"
Giotto blinked, unable to answer. Did he really look like that? He didn't even notice—
"I've been having these weird dreams lately too…" Nana mumbled her gaze downcast. "I'm hearing things too, like explosions. My husband reeks out of it, and I saw more injuries on you and your friends. And I saw a young man like you before there was a smoke… I'm getting old, aren't I?" She joked.
He began to chew his lips. He didn't know that Nana suffered this much. All of those real things that happened, she was forced to believe that it's only her imagination. To believe that she's getting old. Giotto recalled the first reason he created the Vongola, to protect the weak. But sometimes, protecting them needs a sacrifice that he needs to do, and he doesn't like it one a bit.
"M-Mom." He stuttered, suddenly taking her hands to his. "You're not old. You're still the beautiful young woman that I call, Mother." He smiled, trying to cheer her up a little.
Nana parted her lips, her eyes watering. "Weird. It's not like you at all, Tsu-kun."
"Thank you, son."
It all began when Cozart received the letter from his long-last friend, or that's what he thought. After reading the letter, it turns out that the one who sent him this letter wasn't Giotto himself, it was some boy from the future namely Tsunayoshi Sawada. The one who claimed as Vongola Decimo in hundred years later.
Of course, one can't trust each other easily. Cozart had his doubts on the letter, does it contain the truth or the lies? He can't know for sure. Usually, after receiving letters like that, normal people would throw it and act like it never exist. Besides, the letter contains time-traveling elements, and science too. Heck, who would believe it?
But Cozart was not part of those normal people. He strives for challenges, and is a brave person. He would never back down, and he's a clever man.
One thing Cozart knew for sure, was the writing style of the letter. It's definitely not Giotto, nor his guardians. The handwriting is messier than theirs, and the Italian grammar... let's not talk about that. It's definitely someone outside of the family. So much for hoping it was from Giotto, so much for hoping it was just an April Fool's joke. (Although it's not April, but, who cares?)
If this letter turns out to be a trap, then he should be dead already. Someone wanted him to play along with this, and cooperate.
Besides, Cozart's gut says that he should trust this guy. So off he goes, preparing all the things needed to deceive the poor boy and raise his mental, physical ability.
They let the information sunk deeper to their brains, slowly loading. It was a long talk, all of the work they did were all Cozart's plan, and all Calesse's information. The Vindice was a hard one, the Shimon couldn't get that many information about their plan but all they can conclude was Calesse planning to take down Vongola.
"I get it for now." Asari nodded his head, understanding the situation already. It was simple, actually. All that matters were how can they confront them and when. As soon as possible, Asari guessed, since this is quite serious. The Vindice is strong, and they know that. And besides, after getting shot by a bullet the Calesse shot, he was different—like a different person. It gave Asari enough reasons to investigate further and take part of the plan.
G ruffled his messy hair, "but this is going to be tough. I mean, the Vindice isn't something that could be underestimated."
"Um, by the way, what are you going to do with my manor?" Lampo suddenly chided in.
Cozart put up a sinister smile. "Uh, you'll pay for it, right?" He looked to G.
"The hell!" G protested.
Tsuna laughed nervously at their conversation, he didn't mind paying though, since the Shimon already took a risk—a big risk that involves their lives. Paying for the re-construction isn't bad at all. "Well, I guess, since that's it; we better tell the rest of the guardians, right?" Lampo said. "It does involves Vongola."
"Yeah, we have to lie a bit though, if not, Daemon will do weird things again." G grumbled. "Seriously, all that guy thinks is..."
"Well, we can manage it." Asari calmed him down. "Cozart, thank you for using your time for us. It's a great help—even though some things are unnecessary."
"No prob. You better get going or the train's gonna miss you." He grinned. "I give you my prayers that you all succeed. Unfortunately, Shimon couldn't help that much, so..."
"It's already a lot of help." G coughed, "Thanks."He looked up to Tsuna who hasn't moved from his seat, "Come on, we need to go."
Tsuna bit his lips, his eyes looking downwards. He took a deep breath and finally stood up to go as well, but he stopped in his tracks and looked at the guardians straight in the eye. "Um... before we go on. I really want to tell you guys something."
Behind the Decimo, Cozart smirked proudly.
Fixing his hair, Lampo asked. "Sure. What is it, Primo?"
"It's not Primo." His eyes flickered. "It's Decimo. I'm Tsunayoshi Sawada, Primo's... descendant."
It was all it took to relieve some burden on his shoulder.
Tsuna didn't know how relieved he is when he confessed.
No, not confessing love or something like that, but confessing his true identity to the guardians. He didn't want deceive them more, and at least there's no need to worry that he'll be crazy after holding down the stress inside him.
He didn't know how they would react though. He just blurted it out.
Damn. He forgot the most important thing-! "Come again?" Cozart grinned playfully at him, his legs crossing. Different than Enma, he's a lot more easy-going. Tsuna wasn't really used to it yet. And Cozart was doing this on purpose, man; Enma's a whole lot easier sometimes.
"I-I'm not Primo." He stuttered out. "When Giot—I mean, Primo, was shot by a bullet, our souls got switched." He tried to explain the most understandable way. "I was going to sleep, and when I woke up; I found myself here… in the past, with Primo's body." Tsuna continued, his hands moving when he explains.
G and Asari's expression were unreadable. Tsuna didn't know if they're going to kill him after this after infiltrate Vongola—although he, himself is the boss.
"It's not believable, and I'm sorry for keeping this from you, but I thought it's for the future. I thought it will change the future, and things will be—"
"We get it, we get it. Geez, stop stuttering around." G interrupted, raising his hand, indicating Tsuna to stop speaking. His expression softened, and looked at Tsuna straight in the eye. "We believe you, kid."
Asari smiled. "We understand your worries now." He laughed, "We're sorry that we made a lot of ruckus."
Lampo snorted, "Hmph! It was obvious already that you're not Primo, brat." He quickly added. "We're not Primo's guardians for nothing."
Tsuna slumped his shoulders in relief. He scratched the back of his neck, embarrassed. "Ahaha, that's true." A slap made contact to his back, he flinched, and it hurt.
The storm guardian scowled, "We're going to take this slowly, okay?" He said. "We're going back home, and arrange a strategy to defeat Calesse."
Cozart hummed, his scarlet gaze softening. He was glad that this was finally over, now; he could just go back and take a beauty sleep again. He laughed. "That's the spirit!"
"Wait, Cozart. Did you already know about this?" Asari asked.
Cozart winked. "Secret."
"Stop doing that, you're making me grossed out." Lampo put a hand to his mouth. "On other hand, umm, Sawada? How're you going to tell the others?"
"Um. I'll do it at the meeting." Tsuna answered. "When we're all together… I'll tell them."
"Even Daemon?" Cozart furrowed his eyes, his fingers joining together. As an answer, Tsuna nodded, with a firm determination. Cozart breathed out, grinned, and slapped Tsuna on the back. "Good luck, then."
"Then, we should get going." Asari suggested. The others nodded, agreeing it. They thanked the Shimon Family, and was about to leave the place.
Cozart went to Tsuna's side, and patted the latter. "Take good care of my descendant when you get back, alright? Deal."
The two exchanged hands.
To Tsuna's own surprise, the guardians were all at the HQ, doing their own weird activities—as stated by the maids. The maids greeted them back, and were all worried when they found their masters injured. Tsuna told them to calm down, but to no avail. In the end, they were all brought to their own rooms and treated.
Knuckle knocked the door as he entered the room. "Giotto, what happened to you? You look like a mess." He sighed, as he brings out his Sun Flames.
"I know already." He laughed. "There's an accident… After treating the others, would you mind calling the rest of the guardians to a meeting? I have something to talk about."
The sun guardian nodded, accepting his orders.
After a few hours, Tsuna entered the meeting room. The guardians were already fully gathered for the meeting, dressed formally. Tsuna noticed that the wounds on them has healed already, thank God to Knuckle's amazing healing abilities. He walked to his seat calmly, and leaned on it.
"First of all, thank you for gathering today." He started, coughing to gain attention. The others nodded their heads, and waited for Tsuna to speak again. "Well, then. How was your mission, um, Alaude?"
Alaude raised his eyebrow, but speak nonetheless. "Fine. I already wrote my report." He ended the discussion quickly. Tsuna sweat dropped, he forgot that after doing a mission, the guardians are supposed to write reports regarding what happened. His intention at first was to warm up the meeting, so that he wouldn't be that tense. But, it failed, of course.
G sighed, sensing the nervousness of Tsuna. He put his chin on his palm, "So, we already finished Lampo's ambush. It wasn't a big deal, they surrendered pretty fast." He said, glancing at Tsuna.
Tsuna felt happy tears falling down from his eyes. Nice one!
"Nufufu, then, who was the culprit?" Daemon asked.
The boss tensed, Daemon can't know about Shimon's whereabouts. He glanced at G, who was dealing the situation calmly. "Hm. It was fucking Calesse."
"Calesse? Weren't they defeated?" Asari joined in the act.
"They are extremely persistent, aren't they…?" Knuckle let the information sunk slowly in his brain. He frowned when he continued, "So they're still targeting us?"
Alaude glared. "Herbivores…"
Tsuna interrupted their protests. "Um. Yes, they're going to be our enemy from now on." He explained, "And maybe, the Vindice as well…" He clenched his fists, gulping down his saliva.
The guardians stared at him, demanding for more explanation. Why the Vindice? They were absolute. It wasn't wise to mess with them, and why? Tsuna gulped, his hands shaking, "This is absurd, but I hope you all keep calm while listening to this absurd-yet-it-is-the-truth explanation."
"Then why don't you calm down first?" G joked.
Tsuna chuckled, his words and actions were the complete opposite.
He's going to confess, and that's all. He won't be keeping any secrets from his guardians—no, friends anymore. Even though this may change the flow a bit, but he'll do his best to keep the game in play. And so, he confessed all of it (with the exception of Shimon Family.)
They took it the same way as Asari, G, and Lampo did with a few twist. Of course, there were more shouts and glares (coming from Alaude) but they believed in him. He didn't blame it, of course, his acting was lame and he knew it.
"So, our extreme priority is to get you back in the future, right?" Knuckle concluded.
Tsuna nodded. "Of course, defeating the Calesse Family as well…" He bit his lips. So, he told him everything, and now what? Should he give encouraging words? He didn't know. He also didn't know how to plan things out; he didn't know the future's condition. If possible, he wanted to meet again with Giotto to sort out a plan together so that it'll be easier to monitor, but…
So, what's next?
"Um, Tsunayoshi-kun." Asari called. "I've been meaning to ask you, but is Giotto doing okay?"
Bam! The bom dropped. He didn't know whether Giotto was doing okay or not. He only met him once after this whole incident happened, and he never met him afterwards. He holds the believe that he's okay though, since, he is Primo after all.
Tsuna smiled. Yes, and Giotto is with his beloved, trust worthy friends. He's okay. And they'll go back to their own bodies in a few, just a few more steps to go. "He is. He's with the Vongola 10th Guardians as well as my friends."
They smiled a bit. At least, they were more relaxed after knowing that their boss is doing okay right there.
The tension in the atmosphere dissipated. But, Tsuna still managed to sense some tension from someone who didn't speak a word after the meeting.
A/N; Some mother and son bonding /not entirely/ and some confessions. \ \It took me a long time to finish it, oh God. I forgot some important scenes in the manga so I had to read it again.
And FFn got blocked in my country, I guess. I don't know. There was an Intertet Positive thingy. Indonesian blockers site(?)
Answers to the Questions:
1. The crooked stuffs were only something to describe the bonds between Tsuna and the 1st Guardians. The Nursery ryhme has its own history, and yeaah I changed it a bit. "They all live together at a crooked house" means they finally came to an agreement, which means they are all bonded again.
2. Why Vanita used the Cloud one. Cozart just wanted to test Tsuna's abilities. They purposely used the element of Cloud to see whether Tsuna realizes it or not. Unfortunately, Tsuna was a little stressed out by handling the whole situation that he kinda broke down and his intuition dropped a bit.
Sorry for errors. And question! Which do you guys prefer: I write long chapters like the last chapter or just at 1-3k words like this one and the earlier chapters? Give me some support and suggestions after you read this, okay? Thanks for reading :)
