"Ready or not here I come!" Sakura shouted, looking around her home. She heard stifled laughters behind some of the bushes that were near her parent's hut and bit the bottom of her lip to prevent a laugh from leaving her lips.

Creeping slowly, she used her forefinger to poke her sister's back, and Haruka jumped in fright - possibly three feet in the air - when she felt something on the side of her stomach.

"I got you!" Sakura bellowed in victory and spun on her straw sandals to see where the others were. Her twin brothers were in the hut getting something to eat, her other three siblings, three half demons and herself, played outside in the not so warm or cold weather.

Haruka groaned, being that she was the first person that was found, and went to sit on the porch of her home. Elbows on her knees, her face being held by the palms of her hands, Haruka watched her sister look for the others.

Kisara was perched on top of the roof, but since Sakura couldn't jump up to reach the young half demon or climb up without getting hurt, Kisara surrendered and jumped down. "Nice hiding spot Kisara-chan."

The said girl smiled brightly at the nine year old, then walked to sit where Sakura's twin sister was sitting, and began to talk with the girl.

Tadashi was found to be laying on the ground face up, with a smirk on his face when his older sister found him. "That's not exactly hiding," Sakura had said, helping him stand on his feet. Tadashi shrugged and scratched the side of his cheek.

"I know, but there isn't anywhere else I can hide." Tadashi brushed the dirt from his backside to get the dirt off and grass.

Kisara looked around to notice a head of silver-white hair behind the leaves of a tree and a head poking out from behind the same tree. She noticed her brother shush her when she looked his way. Kisara smirked knowingly, he didn't want to be tackled by Sakura and the others if he were to jump down and face them, like she had done.

Sakura glanced around and when the wind blew, a lock of hair floated for a few seconds behind the tree, enough for her to notice it. "Naoko-chan, I see you." Moments after, a groan of loss was heard and out came the said girl from hiding with a smile on her face.

"Now…where can Makoto-kun be?" The girl questioned out loud, her head turning around, craning her head to see where the half demon boy was. Tadashi was looking up at a bird when he noticed a figure in the tree in front of his mother's home.

"Makoto!" He shouted and earned a low, but non-menacing growl by him. Tadashi smirked cheekily and shrugged when Makoto had jumped in front of him.

"Yay!" Sakura exclaimed and poked Makoto on his shoulder playfully. "Got you."

Makoto turned his head to the side, looking away from the others, his nose caught the scent of a demon, but it wasn't anywhere near. There was no bothering with fighting it, even if his aunt and uncle would take care of it, if it comes near the village.

Sakura clapped her hand once and smiled at the others who lined up. "Okay, Haruka, you are "it" now. So count to ten so we can hid."

"Wait a minute, why can't I be "it." How come it's Haruka's turn?" Tadashi questioned the silver haired girl who both she and Naoko hit the palms of their hand on their foreheads. Sakura and her sister, Haruka, groaned as their head shook side to side.

"Tadashi-kun, we are all taking turns." Kisara must have explained it for the tenth time in the past four minutes. Her head began to hurt and she rubbed her temples. Keiji raised his tiny hand in the air, standing on the tips of his toes to be seen.

Noticing the boy's desperation to be noticed and eagerly waving his hand around, Kisara smiled at him. "Yes, Keiji-kun?"

"Um…I have to pee." The boy admitted shyly, playing with his fingers and shuffling on his feet.

Haruka covered her mouth, eyes widening and suppressing a giggle, it was as if he were declaring the biggest news in the world. "Keiji, why don't you go to the house and tell mama, okay?" Sakura said, laughing nervously when her little brother nodded.

Watching the boy waddle away with the urge to use the bathroom, everyone turned to each other.

"Start counting, Haruka!" Sakura sang cheerily.

"You look like you are glowing with happiness, Kagome-chan." Harumi had said, walking with a jug of water in her hands and beside the miko who smiled in her direction. It had only been two months after Harumi and her daughter, Naoko, had arrived at the village. Things were fairly pleasant and most of the village women were taking a liking to the young woman, not even paying a matter that she was the mother of a half demon.

"Thank you, Harumi-chan, that's nice to know." Kagome looked down at her bulging stomach and used her right hand to rub it softly and affectionately. Instead of wearing the red traditional attire worn by priestesses, Kagome's hakama was a light blue color with a floral pattern of Sakura blossoms, one Inuyasha had given her on his last demon extermination trip.

Harumi, in return gave the young miko next to her a smile, while her eyes looked onward to not trip over any rocks on the path. "Kaede-sama told me that you should be resting and stay home with your children."

Kagome nodded at her words, Kaede had requested her to bed rest the past month and a half, but she liked to walk around the village only for a little while. Staying cooped up in her hut, without having a bit of the sun's rays on her skin for just about a few minutes, usually made her uncomfortable.

"I know, Harumi-chan, but I like it out here. Spring is here, the sun is out, not even a cloud in sight and the flowers are blooming." Kagome told her, blue orbs glancing over to the bellflowers near the rivers edge. A smile graced on her features upon noticing them and she looked up at the sky, as her smile broadened.

Her children and Harumi's daughter were at Sango's hut, playing with the demon slayer's children to pass the time. Kagome waited patiently the last two months for Inuyasha's return.

Then a sudden thought popped into Kagome's head and she couldn't help but ask Harumi a question. "Harumi-chan, you were there with Kaede-obaa-chan to deliver Sakura-san's child, right?"

Harumi nodded and stopped at the edge of the river to refill the jug with water. She paused to check to see that it was only half way full. "Yes, Sakura-san had a daughter and-" Harumi blinked several times to see something black in the water and a bundle near the edge.

Kagome looked over her shoulder, she was sensing a demonic aura, but something was going wrong with her reiki. That's when she noticed a human head with the body of a snake. "No, Harumi-chan!" Kagome shouted with alarm, sensing that it was a demon and recognizing it to be nure-onna. In some stories, her grandfather told her, the "wet woman" would go by the waters edge wash their hair. In others, the little bundle she'd carry wouldn't be a baby as people would perceive it would be.

Harumi jumped back when the figure she noticed moved and slashed in the water, revealing the snake body and her head, and the bundle. "A nure-onna," she whispered and nearly walked into Kagome.

Kagome gritted her teeth, mentally yelling at herself for not bringing her bow and arrows with her. Kagome stood in front of Harumi who tried to walk backwards, pulling her with her, but the nure onna would hiss at any movement.

The tail flicked side to side, wanting to strike down the two women and trap then by wrapping its body around then. The tail of the "wet woman" then shot straight for Kagome in a certain position to strike and the demon knew where it wanted to hit. The end of the tail wanted to puncture her in her abdomen.

The nure-onna stopped abruptly and then started to shrink, scaring the two women as they took a few steps back from the demon. The nure-onna shrieked in agony as it started to be boiled up alive and its skin turned to goo, and drip down to the ground. When the nure-onna's body melted, the liquid drops that fell on the ground sizzled like it is was in acid.

One minute after, hearing and watching the nure-onna in sheer pain, Kagome and Harumi exchanged looks, but then the woman next to Kagome looked down as so did the expecting mother.

Harumi gasped at the shocked miko who looked down at her stomach. Her stomach was emitting a soft purplish glow, just inches away from her belly. Kagome knew it as well as Harumi did. It wasn't Kagome's power that saved her unborn child's life.

The power came from the baby itself.

"How surprising, I never knew such a…being could possess such power." A woman said, her eyes narrowing at what she had seen.

"That is Inuyasha's mate, milady. If you are surprised by the unborn child's power, you should see the eldest." A demon had informed her and her eyes widened a little. She was then told that he had two children, a boy and a girl.

"Is that so? My, what news, taking a miko for a mate, I've never heard such a thing." The woman retorted, lifting her chin to look at the little demon that stood before her. She arched a brow, wonder why he did not leave and so she asked.

"Visitors are at the entrance, milady." The demon said, bowing his head down at the woman who sat in the violet chair with her head held high. "Who has come to see me?" she inquired of him to say.

"Your son and Inuyasha, milady," he said, gulping at the tone of her voice.

Author's Note

I know what you are thinking, why would the baby have powers so soon, well I thought I'd give the unborn baby powers from the womb. Could it possibly be that this child is stronger than its siblings?
