Mako and I were lying in bed together. Just enjoying each other's company, His arm was round me. My head was on his chest and our hands were intertwined. But we were quickly separated when we heard explosions coming from outside. We jumped out of the bed and ran outside. Bei Fong and the kids were waiting outside, we met Korra and Bolin.
"What's going on? We heard explosions!" Korra asked. We looked into the sky, hot air balloons were flying all over dropping bombs above the city.
"Republic City is under attack." Bei Fong said. This really was the Endgame.
Without saying a word we ran to Kavi and Naga. We rode through the snow covered streets, then heard a large crash. We swiftly rode to the police station. Several giant robots were crowding the front. Tenzin was about to carried into one of the Equalist vehicles. We jumped of Kavi and Naga; they ran to one of the robot and automatically started attacking.
I ran over to where Tenzin was being carried into the truck, and kicked the Equalist who was carrying him. Tenzin steadily got to his feet and then ran into battle. The Equalist started throwing punches at me. I dodged them quickly, I bended some of the snow into pure water, and hit him directly with it. Once he hit the wall I froze it again, trapping him there. Kalani! Behind you! My body turned on its own. The Equalist behind me was brought to his knees. My hands clenched, then so did his body. It was like he was being crushed from the inside. He screamed in agonizing pain, and then laid there on the floor completely lifeless… What did I just do? You see? I just saved you again Kalani. You need me. No! No. No. No. Tenzin said I couldn't let the voice take over like that, but that time I didn't let it…It just did... A large crash took me out of my thought; it was the sound of the last robot hitting the ground. I ran over to them.
"Thank you." Tenzin started. "If you guys hadn't come I'd be on my way to Amon!" We all wanted to respond to his thanks but Mako wouldn't allow it.
"Guys, look." He pointed to the island. One of Amon Blimps was on his way there.
"Oogi is around the corner. Naga and Kavi can get back on their own. Let's go!" Tenzin told us. We all got onto Oogi, and flew to the island. We were in for the biggest shock when we got there. Bei Fong and the kids were standing there with all of the Equalist tied together… I don't think I want to know what happened.
We got of Oogi; Tenzin was about to object to letting the kids fight but Meelo started talking rambunctiously before Tenzin could even let out a breath.
"Daddy! Daddy! We fought the bad guys! If only the waited a few minutes though… then our new brother or sister could have helped!" Meelo said dancing around all of us. New brother or sister…Pema! We ran inside. A baby was crying… We let Tenzin and the kids go in first to have some alone time. Hearing a baby cry would annoy most, but we reveled in the sound of it…It made us think that after all this bad stuff can happen something good always happens at the end. It gave us hope. Tenzin opened the door.
"There is someone we'd like you to meet." We all walked in and Pema was lying down, a small bundle in her arms. The kids were all next to her. "This is Rohan." A boy… I couldn't help but smile… Our smiles were short lived though. This state of serenity was ended by Bei Fong walking.
"More air ships were on their way." We all sighed.
"I've called for the United Forces to come; we might be able to win with their help. For now I must get my family out of here. Bei Fong, you come with us. Korra you guys must hide." Tenzin said this all in one breathe.
"We're not giving up!" Korra shouted.
"I'm not asking you too!" Tenzin snapped a little. "I'm asking you to be patient." That's worse than asking her to give up!
"Fine…" Korra huffed. There was a large crash. The Equalist were coming.
"Guys, let's go out the back! They won't see us." I suggested. We ran outside when we did we whistled. Kavi and Naga came running up. We boarded them, and then jumped in to the water. Korra and I kept a bubble around us. After a few minutes we returned to the surface.
"There sewage line that lead under the city. We can go there." Mako told us. We swam there; once we got there we had a perfect view of the island. We stared for a few moments, then our heartfelt light. We say two bison fly out of the island. They made it out alive! Thank god!
"C'mon we should start walking…" Mako suggested. We walked deep into the tunnels. We were all alright…for now.
