It's funny how seconds can feel like hours when you're trying to be patient. After walking a few hours we found a Hobo camp. They lived peacefully under the city, away from the whole feud. Seeing benders and non-benders live together was refreshing. They didn't fight or try and suppress each other they just…lived! All we could do it wait at the moment. We were waiting for the United Forces to come; they are going to help us end this war. Everyone was sleeping. But Mako and I couldn't, we were both to nervous. It was so hard living in this state of uncertainty, never knowing what's going to happen next. Mako was lying against Kavi; my head was in his lap. He was playing with wisps of my hair.

"A few months ago everything seemed so different…I was worrying about Korra becoming the avatar, she was worrying about her fire bending test. And now we're in a full blown war."

"It's crazy I Know. I didn't even know you then, and now I can't picture my life without you..." He smiled down at me. I pulled him down to me and gently kissed him.

"Seeing Pema and Tenzin with Rohan made me think how even when everything seems bad, something good happens. So maybe something good will happen at the end of this war." I smiled up at him.

"As long as we're still together, everything will be good." He kissed me again. "Let's try and get some sleep."

"Fine, goodnight."

"Goodnight."

The next morning we were hiding in the mist of the morning looking for the United Forces. Korra and I tried parting the mist without blowing our cover.

"There they are!" Mako shouted. Silhouettes of huge boats started to emerge from the mist. There was something wrong here though… Where was the resistance? There was no Equalist trying to prevent them from coming in. It can't be this easy. Be ready. I was proven right when huge splashes of water started coming from below. They were attacking from the water? How? They're obviously not bending.

"Kalani! Come with me!" Korra shouted. She dived into the water. I was close behind her. I swam under with her. These machines were under water, that's how they were attacking! It got even worse when I came for air. There was a humming coming from the sky. I looked up, these big metal bird like things were flying through the sky. And to make matters worse, they were dropping bombs. They hit most of the boat already…

"Korra! You take the air; I'll take care of the water!" I shouted to her. She nodded. I went under and started to handle the subs. I froze over the cannons, which eliminated the offenses. I froze some of the water around me into big balls of ice. I started throwing them one by one to the subs and they got caught in the engines. Yes! The machines started to sink and I went up for air. As soon as I went up, there was a huge explosion. One of the air ships shot the boat dead on next to me. I saw someone falling toward me, I quickly bended the water up to catch them, and then took them into my arms.

The man coughed up water as I started swimming back to shore. Bolin and Korra helped me pull up the man then Mako helped me up.

"General Iroh, are you okay?" Korra asked him.

"Yeah, I'm fine. But we need to talk and I'm sure those weren't the last of Amon's…devises." He explained. "Let's go somewhere private." We helped him up and let him back to the camp.

When we got back to the camp Korra started to heal some of his wounds as we all tried to calm down from the previous attack.

"I was prepared for Amon's Mecha Tanks but not those flying… machines." Iroh explained to us.

"I don't think any of us were." I chimed in.

"It sucks how Amon is always one step ahead of us, every time we think we have plan Amon just shuts it down." Korra added.

"Amon is winning so far, but we're not out of the fight yet!" Iroh said extremely confidant. Amon can't win, he will fall.

"I like this man's attitude!" Bolin said thrusting his arm into the air.

"There is a second wave of reinforcements coming in but I have to warn Commander Bumi. Do you have a way we can contact him?" Iroh looked at Korra.

"I know just the man for the job." We ran over to Gommu and Iroh told him to tell the reinforcements not come until they got a signal from us and camp at a nearby island. Then Iroh started laying out our plans.

"First we have to ground those air ships or Commander Bumi won't even be able to get close to the city. They flew in from here." He said pointing to a map. "So the base must be over this mountain range. We all need to get ready. We leave at dawn." We were all in agreement until Korra spoke.

"Wait! I'm sorry but I'm not going with you tomorrow. I'm tired of hiding form Amon, it's time I face him." I knew the girl wasn't completely brainless…go with her.

"That's not a good plan," Iroh explained. "We need to stick together."

"That's just giving him more time to hunt me down. My gut is telling me it's time." Go with her! I gasped.

"Kalani?" Mako looked at me concerned.

"Uh…I agree with her. It's time Amon falls. I'll go with her to make sure she's okay…" I said playing with my braid nervously. Good girl.

"If both of you are going, I'm going too." Mako added.

"Mako, please." I didn't want him to come. I could feel it in my gut that something was going to go wrong.

"Don't try and stop me. I'm going." He said sternly.

"…Okay." There was no point in arguing.

"Alright I respect you decision Avatar Korra. Bolin you and I will stop the air fleet and you three will go to Amon!"

We all tried, but failed, to get some sleep last night. When Dawn approached we all got ready. Mako, Korra and I put on some Equalist attire we…acquired. Bolin and Mako said there heartfelt goodbye before we departed but Bolin made sure he didn't forget Korra. It was nice seeing their relationship has gotten so strong but saddening when we realized everything could change today. We gave Iroh and Bolin Kavi and Naga to ride. They would be able to easily get through the mountains.

"Be a good boy." I said kissing Kavi on the forehead.

We traveled to Air Temple Island and saw Amon go into and airship as we slipped onto the island unnoticed. As I saw Amon my brain started clouding as if it were angry. Put an end to his rein Kalani.

"Are you okay?" Mako asked noticing something was wrong.

"Yeah I'm fine."

"We need to get into the temple." Korra said. We walked onto the island. Other Equalist ignored us because of our attire. We thought we were set.

"What are you two doing here?" Crap! We turned around to see an unmasked Equalist staring at us.

"We were just transferred." Mako said quickly.

"Well, you're being transferred again. Amon wants extra security at the Arena today."

"The Arena? Why?" I asked.

"For the rally!" He told us as if were stupid.

"We'll be there sir!" Korra said. He stared at us for a second, and then walked away.

As he walked away, we deftly got into the temple. We still wanted to make sure we got everything he was hiding here. Anything that could help us take him down.

"Let's start in the Attic." We climbed up and were floored but what we saw.
