[A/N: Cue Simple and Clean (or Passion I suppose) because this is the last chapter there will be no more after this. I already had the beginning of this chapter finished for a while now and this last chapter has gone through a couple drafts. Please don't think too poorly of me for how I decided to end this story, but I've always wanted to do something like this which is why it happened. Reviews are appreciated. Enjoy the last chapter!]
This new world they entered seemed ominous to say the least. The sky was completely black, but unlike the other worlds that they'd visited that had been dark there were no stars dotting the skyline. Hanging in the pitch black sky was a sun much larger than any of the others they'd seen. This sun was also bright red and gave off a cold uncaring light. Juliet pulled out the map and unfolded it. She traced the route they'd taken from Destiny Islands to the new world, but saw that the world's name had been smudged off. "Well unfortunately I don't know where we are."
Clementine looked over her shoulder at the map and looked at the little unlabeled dot. "If we don't know where we are maybe we could find someone who does know what this world is called."
Juliet folded the map up and started walking across the dirt pathway; little puffs of dirt and debris coming up as she did so. "It doesn't look like anyone is here. I don't see any houses, people, not even animals."
This feeling hadn't happened in a while, but Akio had the horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach that they shouldn't be here. "I don't think we should go any further. This place doesn't feel right." He saw that Juliet was continuing to walk away while Clementine lingered behind. "Juliet, didn't you hear me? I don't think we should be here."
"If you want to stay here and wait that's fine Akio, but I'm going to keep going."
Clementine stopped and looked back at Akio then back at Juliet. "I think he's right, Juliet. This place doesn't seem right to me."
Juliet stopped walking and turned back to face Clementine and Akio. "Look, if you two want to stay here and be afraid of whatever is out there fine, but don't drag me down with you."
"I'm not afraid I just don't think we should go any further." Akio looked like he wanted to go after Juliet to try and convince her otherwise. "Why don't we just go? You said you trust my judgment and I'm telling you this place isn't good."
Instead of listening to Akio, Juliet continued to walk on. "I don't think you two understand this, but I don't need your help anymore. I've found all the seven pure lights so if you guys want to go home feel free. I could take you back real quick if that's what you want."
Before Akio could say anything more Clementine jumped in. "You think you can just get rid of us like that? After all we've been through? That's low Juliet even for you."
"Well it's true. I don't need your help anymore." She turned and continued walking when she felt a blizzard spell hit her in the back of the head. "Clementine, that was unnecessary."
"No, it was necessary. You're being really mean right now and you're hurting our feelings. You don't think you need us? Well we don't need you."
"Fine." Juliet shrugged and continued walking down the pathway.
Akio looked up at Clementine. "Are we really going to just leave her here? What if she gets in trouble? What if she runs into Puck or Antonia? You know she can't fight them at the same time."
Clementine looked annoyed and looked down at her feet. "She said she didn't us so maybe we don't need her either. I don't know about you, but I'm going to look for a way to get home."
Akio looked away from Clementine and over in the direction that Juliet had gone. "Well I'm not going back. Not like I have a home to go back to anyway."
As she listened to Akio walk off Clementine looked back over her shoulder. "Wait, I'm coming too."
By this time Juliet had entered a small village, but like the pathway she'd gone down it looked like there was nothing living in the village either. "Hello? Is anyone here?" She heard a door snap shut when she felt light envelope her. She looked down to see that her clothes had changed. "Haha Clementine very funny. Change my clothes back now."
Instead of her usual tank top and pants Juliet was wearing a white thin strapped dress that went down to her knees and gold sandals that tied up her legs. Her hair was down with two braids framing her face and on her head were gold laurels.
She summoned her Keyblade thinking that she'd heard something coming out of the darkness towards her. "Come out whatever you are."
Coming bounding out of the darkness was the same dog that she'd seen in the Bear Kingdom. The wraith looked up at her before turning around and trotting off.
Since she was interested in where the wraith was going Juliet started after it. "Wait, come back."
The wraith turned and looked back at her blinking only once. It waited until she'd caught up before trotting off again.
As Juliet followed the wraith through the village Akio and Clementine had also entered. Their clothes changing as well. Akio was now wearing rather heavy red and gold armor that made him stumble about. Clementine was wearing a rather gaudy gold dress that had a slit filled with silver going down the middle.
Clementine plucked at the dress and wrinkled her nose. "This looks ridiculous on me." She looked over at Akio. "You look silly too."
Akio took a step forward and felt the armor pinch him. "Ridiculous or not we need to go find Juliet before she gets into any trouble." Before Akio was able to go any further he was nearly knocked off his feet when a fist came sailing in his direction.
Puck and Antonia had been following Akio and Clementine ever since they'd first entered the world and thought now would be the best time to make their presence known. Puck jumped forward so that he was so close to Akio that their noses were nearly touching. "What happened to your fearless leader? Did she abandon you?"
"Get out of here Puck. I don't want to deal with you right now."
Instead of leaving like Akio had requested he only walked after him. "Come on Akio don't you want to play with us?"
"No."
Puck wrapped his arm around Akio's shoulder and gripped it so tightly that it hurt. "Well maybe I want to play with you. And if I want to then we're going to."
Still Akio tried to shove Puck off of him. "Get lost Puck. You're being annoying."
"When isn't he?" Antonia had slid out of the darkness beside Clementine. "Come on jackass don't you want to play with me?"
Clementine bristled as she remembered the nickname from Prankster's Paradise. "You're not funny Antonia. And Akio's right you guys need to leave us alone so we can find Juliet."
A fox like smile came to Antonia's lips. "So you have lost your leader. What to do? What to do?" She continued to chase after them as they walked away. "Come back come back we just want to play for a little while."
Akio stopped walking and turned back to face Antonia. "The only reason we'd want to talk to you would be if you knew where Juliet is and I'm assuming you don't so we don't want anything to do with you."
Antonia stuck her lower lip out. "That's why you don't want to stay and play? Because you can't find your leader?"She cast a rather weak blizzard spell at Clementine hitting her lightly on the burned area of her cheek. "Maybe I'll give you frost bite to go along with your burn."
Puck had gotten in front of Akio blocking his path. "Come on Akio let's play let's play. I'm not letting you leave until you play with me."
Akio pulled out his disk and threw at Puck, but was slightly encumbered by the armor. Because of this the disk didn't go as far and stopped at Puck's feet.
"Pathetic, I thought you were better than this Akio. Come on don't you want to save your woman from us."
"She can take care of herself."
"Oh, I doubt that. Once she finds out who the real bad guy is I doubt she'll be able to do much of anything. Sad really she had such strong feelings for our master."
Clementine had a fireball ready in her hand, but let it extinguish. "Your master? Don't tell me your master is Erik isn't it?"
Antonia's face broke out into a toothy smile. "Very good Clementine, but you've known that for a while haven't you?"
"And you tried to tell Juliet, but she wouldn't listen, right?"
"Of course we tried telling her, but Erik has her completely brainwashed."
Antonia took a step forward. "Do you want to know where she's going? I'll tell you if that's what you want."
Both Akio and Clementine looked completely confused onto why Antonia would want to help them, but Akio was quicker to respond. "Yes, we would like to know."
Puck pointed up at an ivory tower that was just a little ways beyond the village. "She's up there following our sister."
While this was going on Juliet was following the dog up the stairs of the tower. "Could you slow down? I'm not used to climbing all these stairs."
The dog slowed its pace a little bit and looked back at her expectantly.
"That's a little better." From up ahead Juliet saw the top of the stairs, but it looked like there was a tall shadow. "Hopefully that's Erik. I hate to think that I would have climbed all these stairs for nothing."
When she got to the top of the stairs Juliet was nearly thrown back down them by a man she'd never seen before.
He had a fox like face and what used to be slicked back black hair, but now it was tumbled in his face and was wearing regal robes that a King would wear. He lunged at her again snarling.
Juliet quickly summoned her Keyblade and jabbed at him. When she got a little closer she realized that his eyes were completely black. "What are you? You can't be human."
The man lunged at her again, but before he could do any damage a hand shot through his chest and he crumpled to the ground.
"So sorry you had to see that."
"Erik? Oh thank goodness I found you. I've been looking everywhere for you."
"Well, you found me."
"What was that thing?"
"Do you remember me telling you about King Achilles, Queen Heloise and their children?"
"Yes."
"That was Prince Odysseys. I'm not sure what happened to him, but somehow he lost his heart."
Juliet looked down at the Prince and nudged him with her toe.
"Don't worry he won't get up again. I destroyed his heart."
"You can do that?"
"Yes, after years and years of practice. My teacher was a great help too."
"Who was your teacher?"
"No one you would know. Now, I suspect since you've been looking for me for so long there's something you'd like to ask me."
"Yes, when I was in the Bear Kingdom I saw this wraith and it looked intelligent and then I saw it again in the Destiny Islands and its here now too, but I don't know where it went."
Right on cue the dog bounded up the stairs and went to Erik's side wagging its tail.
Juliet was starting to feel a bit nervous now. Why would a wraith be so friendly with Erik? "Is it your dog?"
Erik was smiling now. "Yes, and don't call her it call her Chiyo." He was scratching her behind the ear.
"All right…..why do you keep a wraith as a pet?"
"Oh, they're very easy to tame you should need to know what they like."
This didn't feel right. This did not feel right at all. "Is there something you aren't telling me?"
Erik stopped scratching Chiyo behind the ear and took a step forward. "Actually yes there is something I'm not telling you. You see when I wanted you to find the seven pure lights it wasn't doing it for my sole benefit. My master wanted to know where they are and I've become too well known to go and look for them myself. Hence why I sought you."
"So, you used me?"
"Essentially yes, but there's nothing to fear that's all behind me now. I've had a change of heart and haven't told my former master anything. Now come here I have something I want to share with you."
Juliet took a few hesitant steps forward trying to quell her nervous feelings. "All right so tell me."
Erik leaned down so that he could whisper to her. "I'm going to burn you."
Juliet frowned in confusion when she felt Erik's hand shove through her chest. She grabbed onto his arm and looked up at him in shock before her knees began to knock together.
In one fluid motion Erik pulled his arm back out; her heart in his hand. He caught her when she nearly collapsed in time to see Akio and Clementine coming up the stairs. Puck and Antonia obviously couldn't keep them busy. "Chiyo get rid of them." Erik watched for a few seconds until he walked through a dark portal.
The area Erik was in was completely dark, but he was still able to see easily. He laid Juliet down on the ground before turning his attention to her heart. After a few seconds the healthy pinkish red color was overtaken by darkness. He crouched down and laid the heart over her chest watching it disappear back inside. Erik stood up again watching her eyes slowly open; a smirk coming to his lips when he saw that they were completely black. "I win."
