"Stupid stinky cats, why are they here?" Makoto had muttered under his breath as his father as zipped across the path trying not to trample any of the villagers. His father did not let him go or release him from his hold.

In any case Makoto was being held as if he were a human infant, small and fragile, and protected by his or her parent. Inuyasha had heard his son mutter the words and had wondered the same. He knew that Sesshoumaru was dealing with the damn panther demons but he didn't understand why they were in their village, let alone that their village had nothing to offer them.

"Inuyasha-sama!" A teen's cry had caused him to abruptly halt in his speeding when Rin had wandered right in the path he was taking. Makoto felt his eyes swirl at the sudden stop and he groaned at the dizziness, then his baby blue eyes gazed at the girl who looked at him apologetically.

"Kagome-sama is in trouble, there are panther demons at Kaede-sama's hut," Rin began to say, putting Inuyasha on a more protective mechanism than before. Cupping her hands over her mouth when she noticed him start to move towards the direction of the elder miko's home. "Kisara-chan is-" Although she never could have told him that his daughter wasn't at the hut or with Sango's children, because the children, including Sakura and Haruka, were with Miroku.

"Rin-chan, go to my home, I must go after my wife she is already there yet our children are not cared of," the sounds of metal and jingling from what appeared to be the rushing form of Miroku with his staff in his hand, hurrying to follow his friend. Rin reached out but then sighed to herself, then turned to head towards the hut where six children were waiting, which wasn't far away.

The brown-haired girl had lifted the door flap and was tugged in by the twins who plead for her to help as their brothers were holding onto their ankles. Rin sweat-dropped but her main worry instead of being worn out by the younger children was the demon attack they were obviously oblivious to. Sakura and Haruka didn't notice their mother's hurry when she had suddenly rushed out of the hut or their father as they were too consumed in trying to ward off their brothers to sit still.

"Kagome!" Inuyasha shouted in desperation, his golden-amber orbs landing on his wife when he noticed two panther demon charge at her from behind. She affectively landed a powerful blow with her bow as she swiftly moved it around her, creating a barrier.

Kagome spun around and felt her husband's arm encircle her waist, his hand resting against her bulging stomach. Inuyasha took a quick smell to make sure that his wife and unborn child were unharmed. Nodding to himself, he focused his attention towards the hisses of the demons before them.

The panther demons in the front of the group took a few steps back but one had leaned closer to the leader,"What do we do now? The father is here and so is the hanyō child." One, assumed to be the main leader, had the better state in mind to have called the other panther demons to regroup.

Tilting its head as if it were disgusted, the leader growled at the words one of his group members had said,"The bitch wanted us to get rid of the hanyō children and the miko, we can't leave now. Unless you don't want the lands we use to have before this little village appeared."

They use to rule these parts? Both Inuyasha and Kagome had alike thoughts running through their heads as they shared a questioning glance. Makoto fumbled in his father's hold, his arms waving around as he wanted to be placed down on the ground.

"Chichiue, I can smell Kisara's scent, its faint but-" The inu pup began to say, catching his father's attention with the flicking of his ear,"-But he encountered her." Makoto pointed to the more bulkier one standing three feet behind the leader.

Kagome felt a quick kick inside her and a swarm of worry come over her, she felt this aura at least a few times, but this one was different. "Inuyasha, where is Kisara?" Her eyes darted to and fro from Sango who gaped at her, indicating that the demon slayer had not seen the young girl.

"Where is my daughter?" Inuyasha said menacingly, taking a step forward, flexing his hand as his claws sharpened. He had placed his son on the ground, and turning to look over his shoulder, he grimly looked at Kagome, letting her know that she was to stay behind him at all cost.

The leader had hissed or had spoken something that only a nekomata or panther demon would understand. Too quickly, Inuyasha noticed the bulkier panther demon pushed frontwards, as if he were to fend for himself.

"Last time I saw that half breed," it was interrupted by a loud, shrilling growl coming from Inuyasha. The panther demon proceeded and fidgeted in his place,"I left her to fight with o-one of us."

"You're going to regret hurting my family," Inuyasha snarled and the panther demons took a few steps back when the flash of red in his eyes stood for a mere ten seconds. Kagome readied her bow and notched an arrow as soon as two panther demons had made a dash to them.

Makoto was placed behind his mother, his eyes trailing to the forest when he sensed his sister's aura. Kisara, he thought moving subconsciously to aid his sister in whatever fight she was fighting. Kagome noticed movement behind her just as her son bolted towards the forest.

"Makoto!" Kagome shouted, she let an arrow loose when a panther demon nearly swiped its claws near her. Inuyasha had taken the one who had almost hurt his wife by its collar and throwing it into the group who snickered and hissed in his direction.

Miroku who had arrived minutes after stood by his wife's side protecting her from any demons who tried to harm them or go passed the hut in which Kaede was tending to Naoko's wounds.

An ear piercing roar from above as various dog demons came crashing into the ground sounded throughout the village. Inuyasha held tetsusaiga in the air, ready to strike down any panther demons who dared to lay a finger on his wife, his ears flicked at the familiar howl.

"Stand down!" Nishiyo bellowed as she transformed into her humanoid form, her golden eyes blazing with fury. The panther demons stood frozen and slowly backed away from the small family.

"Inuyasha, Makoto went off into the forest," Kagome whispered to her husband as her gaze stilled as she watched the panther demons bow to Nishiyo. Inuyasha stared at his aunt who firmly nodded at him in return.

"I'll be back with our children, be careful," Inuyasha told Kagome slowly, his eyes then trailed to her stomach and his ears drooped in worry. Sensing the concern for her and their unborn pup, Kagome placed a hand on his shoulder,"I will come with you." Inuyasha gaped at her and his brows knitted. "No, you won't, it will be dangerous."

Kagome shook her head,"They are my children as well. I am not weak even if I am expecting." Inuyasha sighed and carried his wife much like a man would to his new bride.

His aunt's voice broke his thoughts. "Go retrieve your pups, Inuyasha," Nishiyo told her nephew, however, her back was turned to him as she walked around the group of panther demons. "I will handle things here."

Inuyasha nodded and took off with Kagome in his arms. Kagome tightly held onto his kariginu as her eyes softened in the direction of the forest.

Nishiyo growled when the leader of the panther demons had attempted to stand up, wanting to warn his other members. Nishiyo's eyes narrowed,"In order to make this out peacefully, I suggest to stop what ever pursuits you want to do. It is fortunate that your tribe had not harmed any ningen or the miko, including the Inu hanyō pups."

The leader tensed, his shoulders rose and his head bowed down, refusing to meet the daiyōkai's eyes. Nishiyo walked up to him, forcing him to look at her, but yet her grip was soft enough to not cause any harm,"I will make this clear, you are to return to your lands beyond the mountain, and never return to the Musashi Province. If you go against my terms and my humble words, I will not let my nephew hurt you and your tribe."

Nishiyo let out a howl to let the other dog demons know of her plans, including Inuyasha, as the leader of the panther demon tribe let out a cry of his own. Turning to face the leader once more she smiled coolly,"I see we have come to an understanding."

The panther demons in the tribe began to walk away from the dog demons who circled among them. The leader gave Nishiyo a small nod before they had retreated and rushed out of the village, soon the others would realize his cry and follow suit.

Nishiyo moved to the hut behind her, her eyes gazing sadly at the damage done as she could hear the wails of a young child in pain, but not from wounds but for her mother. "Naoko-chan lost her mother," the demon slayer informed her and Nishiyo sighed.

"This should never have happened," The daiyōkai mumbled, closing her eyes to relax in the meantime before she can face any other issues. Miroku looked at the demoness,"Is there anything you can do, Nishiyo-sama?"

In response to the monk's question, Nishiyo looked at the ground,"I may be powerful, but I am no god, if my eldest nephew were here, nor he can revive the ningen woman. It is far too late for her. My deepest apologies, but I must take my leave. Your village will not be burdened by any other demons while I am alive."

Miroku wrapped an arm around his wife and pulled her close. Sango smiled a small smile,"Thank you, Nishiyo-sama."

Kisara had dodged the flying fist that came at her and quickly swiped her claws at the panther demon, sending blades of yellow towards the demons that screeched in pain.

"What are you two standing there, help me!" The panther demon she turned to craned its head to the others who perched on the tree to avoid being hit. They trembled at the young pup's power when the tree started to melt.

"Cowards," Kisara growled, her blue eyes with white slits gazed at the demons who cringed when their eyes met with hers. Then two growls pierced the air and Kisara felt the surge of strength when she heard faint shouts of her brother.

"Onii-chan?" Kisara looked toward the left side to see her brother jumping from tree to tree, then landing on the ground, pushing her behind him. Makoto growled while holding his sword,"Are you hurt?"

Kisara looked at her hands and noticed her claws had shrunk to their normal length,"Yes, I'm fine. I was just…" The Inu-pup blinked for several seconds as she tried to remember what exactly had occurred.

Makoto shifted his gaze back to the panther demons he saw her fighting but to realize that they had disappeared.

The pups turned just in time to see their parents stop in front of them. Inuyasha slowly placed Kagome onto the ground, one arm encased behind shoulders when their pups ran to them.

"My little girl," Kagome whispered when she noticed a faint crescent mark on her daughter's forehead. "Hahaue," Kisara mumbled as she hugged her mother's waist, her eyes drifted close at her mother's soft touch as her hand smoothed her head soothingly.

"Kisara, are you all right?" Kagome asked hesitantly. Inuyasha had too noticed the mark on his daughter's forehead and he looked worryingly at his wife.

"When I'm with you mama, papa, I'm always all right," Kisara mumbled as she claimed her. Makoto held his mother's hand, walking in between his parents, as his father carried his sister. They all walked back home.

The sunset spiraled colors in the azure sky, hue of yellow and streaks of orange glowing above.

"I don't understand, we didn't do anything to them, but they attack," Naoko looked down at the newly dug and buried grave. Her eyes watered at the memories of her mother.

Only a day after the attack from the panther demon tribe had passed. Makoto stood behind his friend, his head down as a shadow casted over from his bangs, tears streamed down his cheeks. Naoko's half-lidded eyes gazed at the tombstone.

Inuyasha and Kagome stood by with Kisara as she cried silently. "Those damn panthers," Inuyasha cursed under his breath, his hand fisted in anger. Kagome teared up and ran her hand in her daughter's hair as she tried to lower her stifles.

A wind blew around everyone who stood in the clearing. Nishiyo watched from afar and her head craned upwards,"Brother, I will watch over your family, I promise."

Author's Note

Finally done with this chapter, I had written it yesterday, however, I didn't know how to conclude it. After this chapter time will have to pass, for the next chapter will have to be the birth of the pup. I have done a completed drawing of how Nishiyo should look like, there is a deviant art link on my profile, you can look if you want to.
