Baby's First

I really don't have much to say this time. I hope you like it.

"Wars are raging, hmm?" A lord had looked at his vassal square in the eye. His golden orbs narrowing when he was interrupted from speaking any further when a guard entered.

"Rikuto-sama, your Nishiyo-sama is requesting your assistance." The guard said, first bowing then raising his head to look at the lord. Rikuto waved his hand, dismissing the dog demon from his courters.

Turning his attention to the young dog demon who cleared his throat, Rikuto gave him a curt nod,"We will speak more, Sadao." In return, Sadao, the son of a general that worked with the deceased Inu no Taisho, bowed slightly.

"Of course my lord," Sadao told him. Rikuto stood up from his chair and walked toward the door. What is it that you need me for Onee-sama, I have more important matters to be dealt with.

Rikuto ambled by the corridors of the castle, his eyes set forwards to the grand door that resembled his study yet had less class to it. Knocking on the door only once before a small call beckoned him inside, Rikuto sighed before stepping inside. "Onee-sama, is there something that you need to tell me?"

Nishiyo stood with a small frown on her face,"Yes, various things little brother, many dangers that lurk about. You already know we have our hands full of the troubles caused by the panther demon tribe. However, I do hope you know of an old enemy of our brother Toga." The dog demoness placed her arms in the sleeves of her kimono, staring at her younger brother.

Rikuto cleared his throat and nodded,"Of course I do, I'm no fool to not remember of Akuhei, he tried to kill you both." Nishiyo gave him a small smile,"You were with the clan, Rikuto. So I might as well tell you what they didn't."

"Pardon me for interrupting, Onee-sama but what-" He began to say but she had abruptly stopped him from speaking,"Rikuto, we aren't in front of the elders, you can call me by my name. I'm no more powerful than you, we are equal to another, even if the clan doesn't see it."

He hesitated a moment before continuing,"N-Nishiyo, what does this have to do with Akuhei? We–You and Toga, disposed of him centuries ago." Rikuto noticed the tension in his older sister's face.

Hands clutched furiously to her side, Nishiyo looked at her brother in the eye,"Toga and I though we killed him before he made it to the cliffs edge that day. I should have finished him off, but Toga thought it was best to show mercy, he is after all Ryūkotsusei's father."

The news brought a wave of panic. "The father of the dragon that Inuyasha had killed years ago? He is still alive!" Rikuto nearly raised his voice in alarm. Nishiyo looked away in shame,"Yes and now he is out for revenge. I spoke with Sesshoumaru, he mustn't visit the village in which his former ward resides in, or else his scent would be the easiest to track."

Rikuto placed his forefinger and thumb to the bridge of his nose,"What about Inuyasha and his family, would they not be endangered?"

"Not at all, for the spiritual powers of Kagome, even the head miko's reiki, I doubt he'd head there," Nishiyo answered his question with her voice sharp and emotionless.

"You need to rest."

"I do not…" There was a small pause." I do not." The last word emphasized to declare the statement.

"You're really stubborn aren't you, why don't you ever listen to me?"

"Okay, I am stubborn, but I don't want to be laying down. Inuyasha, let me-" Kagome stopped speaking mid-sentence when a yawn interrupted her. She was given a smug smirk of victory by her ever so kind husband.

She smiled coolly,"I was just yawning, it doesn't mean a thing. Now let me take a good look at our Izayoi." Kagome reached out to find herself groping in the air when her husband moved backwards. Dropping her hands to her lap, she glared at him. "Inuyasha…I want to see my baby girl, now let me see her."

Inuyasha gazed down at the little newborn in his arms, his eyes softening at the little yawn she let out quietly. He didn't think he'd let go of her, as he happily admired the little floppy ears on the crown of his head, her little hands clenched together, and her chocolate eyes gazing back at him.

Inuyasha found himself staring at his wife a second later when he smelt the stinging smell of salt mingled in with her scent. This woman…trying to make me feel guilty, He scowled a little but let out a chuckle, it couldn't be helped if his wife wanted to hold their newborn.

As Kagome didn't have enough time to do so when Kaede and Rin were checking the babies and how healthy they were, as the twins were born only ten minutes before.

Kagome held in a squeal of delight when Inuyasha reluctantly handed her their newborn daughter. Once placed in the mother's arms, Kagome stared longingly at her newborn daughter. The corners of her mouth curved up into a loving smile.

"She does look like your mother," Kagome whispered, lifting a finger to soothingly move down the infant's cheek. The cooing sound coming from the newborn girl sounded louder. Kagome stifled a laugh when she noticed little Izayoi crinkling her tiny nose up.

"Haha-ue, when can I hold her?" The content mother gazed to her side to see Kisara blinking in curiosity, her head tilted to the side, and lips pursed outwards in a tiny pout.

Kagome smiled at her oldest daughter. "Of course you can, but your sister is getting a little sleepy, why don't we wait until she is fast asleep. I'll let you hold her right after." The young Inu-pup nodded in agreement watching happily when her baby sister yawned sleepily before her lips closed and eyelashes fluttered shut.

Kisara's grin broadened when her forefinger was clutched tightly in her sister's solid hold. She was so excited to see her sibling, and now that she knew that she had two siblings, Kisara's excitement grew within the hour. Gazing at her newborn sister, the young Inu-pup laughed with her hearts content when the furry appendages on the newborn's head were starting to perk up slowly.

Makoto sat next to Rin, staring at his little brother Jirou, in which the newborn seemed to have the most energy. "Inuyasha-sama, can you please hold him?" Rin asked him with a smile on her face. The seventeen year old shifted the weight in her arms to the hanyō.

The brown-haired girl stood with the newborn boy who began to cry and she did her very best to quiet him down. Even moving him slowly in her arms did not hush the infant, however, once in his father's arms, Jirou's cries died down.

Rin let out a sigh of relief and gave Kagome a wave. "I'll be back, Kagome-sama, with the water you requested before." The girl moved the shoji door with her hand and walked out, leaving the family alone.

Makoto moved and stood on his toes to stare at his little brother, smirking in happiness. We'll be playing with swords like father, running in the forest. We would be taught to hunt too! Someday I can teach you what ever I know. But for now little brother, you'll be taken care of our father and mother.

"Does Jirou need sleep too?" The six year old boy questioned, a glimmer of hope swam in his blue eyes. Hoping that his father would let him hold his little brother.

Watching the newborn that focused sole on the front locks of his silver hair, clutching a few strands in his small fisted hand, Inuyasha moved his head to the side and grinned,"Doesn't look like he's going to sleep any time soon kiddo. Come sit next to me, I'll let you hold him."

Inuyasha let Makoto sit on his lap, a true smile on his face, watching as his son held Jirou. "Careful, you need to hold his head, pup." Makoto nodded to his father's words, his tongue sticking out a little as he moved his arm a little to making his little brother comfortable.

"He looks like ji-chan, but he also looks like you in your human form, except the eyes," Inuyasha heard his son say, and he moved his head to watch his wife instructing their daughter on how to hold Izayoi.

"That's it, sweetie," Kagome whispered, her hands running through Kisara's soft hair, her eyes trailing to met her husband's loving gaze.

Soon there was a few giggles from outside of the shoji door and a couple of hushes from young voices. "Inu-oji-san, can we go in now?" Inuyasha's ears twitched to hear the small voice of Tadashi say from outside their hut.

Kisara giggled and quieted down when Izayoi stirred. She didn't want Izayoi to wake up, or in a sour mood with a high pitched cry that hurt her ears.

Soon enough their home was filled with the young children as Miroku sat next to Kaede and Rin. Sakura and Haruka were awed by the floppy ears that Jirou had on the crown of his head, but Inuyasha was watchful as Makoto was the one who was holding him, but he was afraid that one of the younger children would do something they won't purposely do.

"Oh, they are so adorable Kagome-chan," Sango whispered as she looked at the young infant in the Kisara's arms. Sango placed the palm of her hand on her cheek and sighed with her eyes closed,"It seems only yesterday when the twins were born." Her eyes opened and looked at her long time friend,"Congratulations, Kagome-chan, they are beautiful."

"Thank you Sango," Kagome watched as Naoko sat next to Kisara, both girls giggling when Izayoi scrunched her nose.

Kisara had turned her attention to her little sister, I'm glad you're here Izayoi, now I am a big sister. She looked at Jirou with an admiring look. To the both of you.

The situation of the story is not done yet. We will get to see some of Jirou and Izayoi's first, I hope it isn't to repetitive, at least it won't be though. This week has been a really, really depressing one everyone. It had also affected my writing, but as time passes things will get better, as recently someone had passed who was dear to me. They say that time heals and it really does. I'm better now than I was before, so I thought why not update and finish the last of this chapter, writing also helps. Well, until then everyone.
