Hi minna-san, I'm sorry for the unexpected long wait. I wrote another chapter, but I just didn't know how to end it, but then this idea hit me and I just had to write it. I hope you like it and I'm sorry once again for this long update.
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha, but I do own Makoto, Kisara, Naoko, Jirou and Izayoi.

What!" A half-demon bellowed, not believing a word that was uttered moments prior.
Kaede paused from her work which was pulling the roots of the herbs in front of her, seated by a patch of them that grew outside Inuyasha's home. "Like I said Inuyasha, I don't have no more," she repeated slowly, as if talking to someone who didn't understand the first time, but she knew that the hanyō heard her.
"What do you mean there aren't no more of those damn herbs, babaa!" Inuyasha growled pacing around as his hand rubbed his forehead in frustration. His golden-amber eyes flaring with anger at the news.
The elder miko let out a sigh of exasperation, knowing that dealing with an over-protective inu-hanyō is very difficult when discussing over their children. She began to speak to the riled half demon. "Calm down, Inuyasha. These herbs were only here for a period of time. If ye remember, Jinenji had taught young Kagome when she came back from her land." She paused when she noticed him standing a few feet, his back to her, but knew that he listened.
"He was the one who had brought it once. If anyone has it, it should be him. You can fetch it with young Miroku-" Kaede was cut off by his retort before she can finish her sentence. Her hands clasped on the wooden bucket she held that was half filled with water, and lifted it up from the ground. She wanted to collect more water for the month old twins.
He looked at her with a worried expression,"I can't leave Kagome alone, Izayoi still is a warm. What if Jirou gets ill? They need me." His fists clenched tightly to his sides as his brows furrowed together. He couldn't leave his children or his wife when they needed him. He couldn't possibly leave them not even for a few minutes without worrying.
Kaede ambled slowly to him, putting one of her hands on his shoulder,"If you don't go then who will?" Inuyasha sighed, knowing that he had to go, he was the fastest one who can get there and return in half a day.
There was a small mew coming from the veranda of the hut where the small group of children gathered, the older ones had settled with Kisara and Makoto. The younger ones were playing around with Kirara as the nekomata ran under and around their little legs. As for the inu-pups, they had been staring at their father for a while.
Kohaku had arrived at the village the day prior, wanting to visit his older and only sister and his growing family. He had stayed around following his brother-in-law and speaking with him time to time. Sango smiled knowingly as she had heard her little brother speaking about a girl he had met in his travels, but never conversed it with her.
"Papa!" Kisara ran towards her father and tugged on his red pants. Her eyes were wide as she stared up at him. "I can go get it too. I want Izayoi to feel all better. Makoto can stay with mama and I can carry some more herbs too!"
Kaede smiled at the young inu-pup as Inuyasha reached down and held her in his arms. Inuyasha looked down at his daughter, preceding to speak to her. "Kisara, you know you can't. Your mother needs you here as much as your brother, it's too dangerous for you. Besides, I'd never let you leave the village. I don't want you getting hurt."
Kisara pursed her lips and pouted at her father. The young inu-pup wondered what it was like beyond the village, and she also knew how serious it was. But she was the Inuyasha's daughter, the one who had defeated the evil half demon that went by the name of Naraku. She could take care of herself just fine if there was any trouble.
Makoto snickered, rolling up the sleeves of his own pair of the robe of the fire rat,"You can't go only two minutes from fighting a demon, you'll hurt yourself and cry 'bout it. I should go instead, I'm bigger and faster."
Her brother's words caused her to get riled up and in turn, Kisara stuck her tongue out and tugged at her father's sleeve. "Please papa! Naoko-chan has only one more herb! I want to help."
Inuyasha sighed and looked at Kaede for help. The elder miko chuckled and shook her head. "It isn't a battle ye can't win. Makoto should stay here," she began to say, earning an objection from the young half demon. "He knows how to place up a barrier and is more experienced with his powers. As for Kisara, she knows about many herbs."
Kisara grinned at the elder priestess and turned back to face her father,"Please papa, please!" She began to beg, her hands clasped together and her ears lowering down to her head.
Her father shook his head and crossed his arms. "You're just like your mother." Then knelt down to look at his children in the eye. "Makoto," Inuyasha started to say, gathering the boy's attention.
"Kaede-babaa's right, I'm sure you can protect your mother and siblings the best. I can count on you to keep our family safe."
Makoto gaped at his father, his eyes wide with realization as his father wanted him to guard their family from harm. Nodding immediately, Makoto smirked while his father softly ruffled his hair. "I'll watch over them for you chichiue." Makoto looped under his father's extended arm and clung to his father's chest, hugging him close. "I promise," he muttered.
"That's my boy," Inuyasha let a small smile come to his face as he quickly hugged his son back, then ambled toward the hut where his wife and youngest children stayed.
Kisara giggled in anticipation and followed her father to bid a small farewell to her mother for only until they came back from their little trip. "Kisara," she heard her brother say and she swiftly turned around.
"I'll see you when you come back and tell me all about it too. Maybe chichiue would let me go with him next time," he said to her, giving her a hug.
Embracing her brother in return, Kisara laughed when she was suddenly pushed back. Her eyes landed on a certain brunette who giggled at them. "See you later big brother, bye Naoko-chan! I'll see you soon Kaede-hiiobaachan!" The young girl scampered off into the hut, moving around Sango who held Shako in her arms.

Kagome held Jirou in her arms and stood near the bassinet where Izayoi was resting in. Her eyes softened to listen to the small and soft sounds of her baby girl sleeping soundly. Shifting her son better in her hold, Kagome smiled when a pair of arms snaked around her waist.
"Izayoi is getting better, she sounds healthier than she was yesterday and even looks like it too," Kagome whispered, yet she couldn't help but be concerned for her children's well-being.
Inuyasha gazed over his wife's shoulder to stare at his youngest daughter,"She does, but I'm going to go an' get some herbs for her. Naoko has one left and we need more incase." Inuyasha let his arms fall so that Kagome could face him.
"Jinenji's field is the only a place that won't take so much time," Inuyasha told her, delicately placing the pads of his fingers to caress Jirou's head, and being mindful of his claws. Kagome gazed down and watched her husband's soothing touch cause their son fall asleep in her arms.
Letting a smile grace her face, Kagome nodded in understanding; she knew that Inuyasha wanted to help, and this was the only way. "All right, but you have to promise me not to fight with Jinenji's okaa-san."
"Keh! 'Course I ain't going to, I'm just going to get those herbs and go," he retorted. He looked at the shoji door when he noticed it slide open, and his daughter entered their home. "Kisara will be going with me, Kaede-babaa says she knows more 'bout the herbs, but it's also your decision if she can go along,"Inuyasha added as Kisara slowly moved to them.
Kagome looked at her daughter's pleading eyes and nodded,"She can go, as long as she behaves well and doesn't go running off."
Bobbing her head in compliance, Kisara rushed to her mother and hugged her gently,"I will mama." Kagome placed Jirou in Inuyasha's care and gazed down to her daughter,"If your father tells me that you didn't, then I will not let you play for whatever time I consider is fit."
Kisara, once again, agreed to the terms and quickly kissed her mother on the cheek when Kagome hunched over to place a kiss on her forehead. "Be careful," she whispered.
Inuyasha had set Jirou in his bassinet, a genuine expression appeared on his face when his son held onto his forefinger. "I'll be back." He rounded over and moved to where Izayoi laid, and kissed her forehead. Lastly, Inuyasha quickly placed a chaste kiss on his wife's lips and walked to the shoji door.
Kisara scrunched her nose when she noticed her father do such an affectionate act on her mother, then ambled to the entrance. Waving frantically to her mother, Kisara jumped into her father's awaiting arms.
"You two be careful now! Kisara listen to your father! Inuyasha! Don't let her wander off!" Kagome shouted when she saw her husband take off in a run. Kagome leaned on the door frame and laughed. They'll be just fine.
Kisara looked over her shoulder as her father began to run and leap over the trees. Her small hands held onto his kariginu as she gaped at how high he had gone from that one jump. She noticed the village little ways beyond their home and easily pin-pointed where the great Goshinboku was.
She observed where the fields of rice paddies were and the small figures of villagers working there. Tilting her head to get a good look at her father's face, Kisara smiled,"Papa, when I grow up, will I be able to jump this high?"
Inuyasha's ears twitched when he heard his daughter's question. "Why not? You can jump even higher if you practiced enough," he answered.
Kisara giggled in happiness and watched the village get smaller and smaller from her view. She was giddy with delight to see what would come about their little trip. Kisara has always seen her father arrive from his extermination trips when he'd go and bring back only a few things they needed.
Putting her chin on her father's shoulder, she watched as they hurriedly sped off, leaving their home to only be obscured by the trees.

It was well near midday as Inuyasha made his way towards Jinenji's farm. It wasn't long before they'd arrive and return just before.
"Papa, how come demons are always hurting other demons?" She couldn't help but wonder. Her young mind was full of question that were yet to be answered.
Inuyasha gently landed on the grass when Kisara had questioned him, and began to move fast along foot. His feet skimmed the grass as he zipped through the trees and forest. "For power sometimes. They'd like to have a good fight, too. Or if they are in danger."
"Is that what Sesshoumaru-oji-sama's okaa-san wanted too?" She asked, watching her father's silver tresses flow in the wind. "Was she scared because of us?"
Inuyasha shook his head,"Why don't we discuss this later, we are here already and I need you to help me get the herb for your sister." Inuyasha noticed the slightly familiar village coming into view when he skid across the dirt path. Holding his daughter closely, Inuyasha's eyes scanned the small village and noticed a tall, robust hanyō emerging from a somewhat broken-down hut.
"Hey, you there! Half-demon!"
Inuyasha turned to look at his left when he noticed an elder man walking his way, and using a branch to help him walk. "Yeah…I could never forget that hair and ears, I remember you. You were that half-demon that aided us when those demons attacked the village, aren't ya? The same half-demon that found 'em demons that ate the bowels of us people."
Giving the him a curt nod, Inuyasha placed Kisara behind him when more village men began to gather behind him. The elder man squinted to get a good look at him and nodded,"You haven't changed a bit half-demon." He turned to the men that had frowns on their faces and raised his hands. "It's okay, he's an old friend of ours."
The men lowered their weapons and let Inuyasha pass. Inuyasha was holding Kisara's hand and tugging her along with him, his eyes skimming the faces as his eyes narrowed at them. The young hanyō blinked as they walked by them, hearing them whisper somethings under their breath, but nothing bad about them like she heard her brother say when he was speaking to their father one time.
Holding onto her father's hakama with one hand and the other clasped on his extended hand as he led the way, she noticed many, many rows of herbs in the field. She opened her mouth to speak when she noticed a very tall man with a rod holding buckets on each end.
"Oi!" Inuyasha said, moving around the field of herbs and near the hut, pausing when he noticed Jinenji look in his way. The hanyō seemed to be surprised at first, placing the rod that had the buckets of water down on the ground, then walking toward Inuyasha.
"It's been a while, eh?" Inuyasha muttered, crossing his arms with a small smirk on his face. "How have ya been, Jinenji?"
Author's Note
I'm really sorry everyone, I guess I didn't think I'd have a lot of things on my hands. For starters I had; the academy, tutoring, prep for sat, etc. And this summer I've been looking for colleges too. Anyway, I apologize for my vigorous inadequacy for updating for this story. I go in to school much earlier than expected which I didn't realize until today. I want to finish this story on its one year anniversary and since I have the next chapter completely written out, I will have it up by tomorrow.
