I was lying on my back on a mattress while Kaitlin hovered over me. We immediately began kissing and she started to kiss other parts of my body.
"You should take off your shirt." I suggested. "Or I could."
I began to pull off her shirt.
"So what time do you have to be back at your dad's?" I asked her.
"Soon." She answered with a giggle as she began to peel my top off. "I'm sure that he can wait a few more minutes at least."
"Well it is a school night." I pointed out flirtatiously as she took my skirt off. "Sandy and Kirsten probably don't want me up that much later."
"Then we'd better be quick." She declared.
It took about ten minutes. She started to get dressed.
"So there is a downside to you not living next door." I stated.
"Yeah, but the upside is greater." She replied. "I've talked to my mom once. Marissa hasn't at all. I wonder if I could spend the night."
"I doubt it." I declared as I went into my dresser and put on some nightclothes. "You should probably tell Kirsten that you need a ride. I will see you tomorrow."
"Hey, I have a question you." She said as she got up. "Since the Cohens officially adopted you, have you thought about changing your name? I mean you are a new person, so why not have a new name?"
"I don't even know where any of that stuff begins." I admitted. "I guess it would be nice to officially be a Cohen."
"Let's go out on Saturday night." She stated before going out the door, closing it behind her. I was lucky that no one walked in on us. I bet that's never happened with Seth before, though it might soon.
The following morning, I walked in on Sandy and Kirsten making out in the kitchen. Luckily, this was something that I was used to. I was wearing a tan tee and black jeans.
"So Kaitlin's hair looked kind of messy last night." Kirsten told me. I was pretty sure they were going to mention sex. I think they were debating which one of them should talk to me about it. I don't think that they knew how to talk about lesbian sex.
"Can we just skip this part?" I asked as Seth walked into the kitchen and I grabbed some milk.
"Skip what now?" Seth asked.
"I know how this goes and I don't need any explanation." I added.
"Explanation about what?" Seth pried.
"I'll see you tonight." Sandy told Kirsten as he hastily exited.
"We should get going too." I said to Seth.
"Wait, I don't wanna go until I know what everyone is talking about." Seth replied. Later when we were at school, he brought it up again. "So what was all that about?"
"Your mom knows Kaitlin and I had sex last night." I relented because I knew that he wouldn't shut up about it. "We are going out on Saturday night."
"So how does everything work with that?" He questioned awkwardly.
"It's not something that you need to know." I told him. "It not's much different than between a guy and girl except there are no wangs involved."
"Well I don't really know how it goes that way either." He admitted.
"That doesn't surprise me." I quipped.
"Is it awesome?" He asked.
"Well some girls are better than others, but I'm not talking about Kaitlin." I replied as Kaitlin walked over to us.
"I think your mom knows that we had sex last night." She remarked.
"I have to sit down." Seth replied. I then explained how I first lost it to them. "So when you lost your virginity, I was playing Magic: The Gathering. It was before I switched Yu-Gi-Oh."
"Hey." Marissa greeted us as she and Summer walked over. "What are you guys talking about?"
"We were definitely not talking about sex." Seth replied. I felt the need to smack him. "Summer, can I walk you to Bio?"
"I can walk myself." Summer responded. I don't think that she was taking the whole Seth kissing Anna thing that well. "Okay, then you can walk me too."
"So you two are having sex." Marissa stated.
"That is something that couples do." Kaitlin pointed out in annoyance. Why was everyone so concerned about our sex life all of a sudden? Do they all think it's hot? Okay, maybe they do and I think Marissa was jealous.
Later, I was at lunch with Seth and Anna.
"You should take her to dinner and a movie." Anna suggested to me. "It's a classic date and that's not a lot of room for stuff going wrong."
"Well I talked to Summer today and I'm not sure where I stand." Seth stated.
"Well she's definitely jealous." I said before I put some chips in my mouth.
"I found out that her favorite three activities are shopping, tanning, and waxing." He added.
"Well you are pale and your eyebrows are kind of bushy." I told him.
"I was thinking that Summer was superficial. Now I have confirmation." Anna added. I liked this girl, even though she basically was Seth in a girl's body.
"I wish that I had a car to take her out with." I stated. "I mean walking is great exercise, but doing it in a dress, really isn't fun."
"I don't have a lot of experience with dates." I admitted. "I mean I've done things with girls, but to be honest, I've never actually had a girlfriend before."
"Well, I personally would be alright with whatever my date did as long as it showed me that they care." Anna told me.
"Well I need to go to class." I stated. I hoped that Seth was taking notes on what she just said because he would probably need them soon when they start going out. Kaitlin and I had a wager going on whether it would be before or after Thanksgiving. I wasn't sure what we would do if he actually did start dating Summer. We hadn't discussed that.
Soccer practice wasn't that interesting. I mean I thought that we had put a really good team together and probably could win this. I was on the bench when I noticed that Kaitlin was checking her phone.
"My mom's at my dad's house." She told me. "And my mom is throwing a party on Saturday."
"Well she probably doesn't want me to be there." I declared.
"I didn't say that I wanted to go." She stated before taking a sip of her Gatorade.
"Then don't." I suggested. "We can go to dinner and a movie. So I had a question for you. Since we both think Seth is gonna end up with Anna, what do we do if he actually does start dating Summer? It could happen."
"We congratulate him." She answered with a smile. "Coach is calling for you."
I ran out to the field, thinking how pretty she looked even covered in sweat. I need to tell her that sometime. You know I think my main concern was whether or not to tell her that I loved her. I don't know if I did yet, but I also don't know when to tell her that.
That night, I was doing some homework when I heard a knock on my door.
"It's open." I declared before Kaitlin walked into the pool house. "Hey."
"So my mom really wants me to be at this party of hers." She stated. "Apparently she is really sorry for how the thing at the hospital went down."
"Did you tell her that you would be bringing me?" I questioned, hoping that would be a deal breaker.
"She said that you come." She added. Damn it. "It's a yacht and it's for a good cause."
"Are you sure it's a good idea because I still think that she hates me." I pointed out.
"Please, Sammie, come with me." She begged. "Marissa thinks our parents may get back together."
"How do I need to dress for this?" I inquired with a sigh. She wanted her parents to work things out, and I guess I wanted what she wanted, even though I thought her dad could do better."
"I'll make sure to help you pick something out." She promised. "We can go shopping and pick something out for both of us. I still have some money saved up from work."
"I can't wait." I told her. "But if you want to change your mind, I'd be cool with that too."
"I'll make sure to let you know." She told me before giving me a wet kiss.
The next morning, Seth was gabbing in the kitchen while I ate breakfast.
"So I occasionally talk about Summer, maybe I even talk about her too much." Seth declared.
"Anna likes you, you idiot." I replied before taking a bite of my cereal. "And yes you do talk about Summer all the time."
"How can I be the guy that can't see a girl right in front of me?" He questioned.
When we got to school, I told him about my issue.
"So you're going to be trapped on a boat with Julie Cooper. She probably won't throw you overboard." He told me.
"Well Kaitlin is my girlfriend and I need to support her." I told him. "I can't believe that this is how it's going. I mean I like Kaitlin too much to say no to her even though I really don't want to go. You should come and help me as out because you're my brother. Speaking of which, I was considering changing my name."
"I can't take Summer." He pointed out. The last part didn't seem to faze him.
"You'll bring Anna." I told him. He then went over to talk to her. I think I was gonna win the bet.
You know since Sandy and Kirsten keep spending so much time away from home, I don't think that I can change my name. I know that I need consent from my parent/guardian. I mean it would be nice. Atwoods were criminals and Cohens were…actually I didn't really know a lot about the Cohen family history, but I imagine it was better than mine.
After school, there was no practice because the coach had bad stomach problems, so we were going out earlier than expected.
"What about this one?" She asked as she held up a black dress with a lace hem and sleeves.
"I personally think that you would look good in any of them." I told her. "Do you care what your mom thinks?"
"Well I don't want to dress super slutty." She declared. "I mean I guess I do a little, but I care what you think more."
"I think I might look good in this one." I told her as I held up a black one with green plants on it. They weren't really flowers. "I just hope that there aren't any fights."
"Well I'll make sure that none happen." She stated before she kissed me. "You know maybe if this goes well, I will move back next door."
As soon as we came out of in our dresses, we noticed none other than Julie Cooper in the store. Well now things just got really awkward. I didn't know what to say.
"You know both of you look very pretty." She complimented. "I needed to tell you that we need to be there early to help set up. I hope you don't mind, Samantha."
"I could meet you there." I stated. "I won't be coming alone."
"Sure." Kaitlin agreed before she went back in the changing stall.
"I need to talk to you." Julie said to me. "I know that we haven't always seen eye-to-eye, but I want to say that I'm sorry. You were right about Marissa, and you've really helped both her and Kaitlin out. I hope that this party will be a chance for us to start fresh."
She did seem at least somewhat sincere about it.
"I need to get changed." I replied. I guess that there was no reason I couldn't give her a chance.
During, dinner I couldn't help but notice that Sandy and Kirsten fighting about this chick named Rachel that he worked with. Apparently Caleb was causing some problems there. I definitely needed to stay out of it.
"So how's everything going with your relationship?" Sandy asked me. "Which I think I need to talk to you about."
"I have something I need to talk to you about, but I don't think now is the time." I stated. "I'm going to this charity event with Kaitlin. Well, it's her mom. I'm really confused. Now she seems to want us to work after threatening to have me arrested before. I'm really nervous."
"Well if you figure out how to deal with the in-laws, let me know." He requested.
When I went out to the pool house, I couldn't help but Caleb walking up to Julie's door. I then noticed that the two of them began kissing. Oh boy, this really complicates things. I then noticed that Julie managed to see me. Fuck, this is bad.
In the morning, Seth was raving about how Summer was going to be at the event and how she rushed to find a date as soon as she found out that he was going with someone else.
"Well you've definitely made her jealous." I told him. "But if you want my advice, stick with Anna."
Later in the day, I was in my dress as I noticed Kaitlin coming into the pool house to greet me.
"So I managed to get out of setting up because Summer agreed to help instead. She's bringing some dude I've never seen before." She explained.
"That's because she's trying to make Seth jealous." I explained before I went over and gave her a kiss. "So do you think green or black heels would work better?"
"Green and I really wanna thank you again for coming." She replied. "I want to thank you for being civil with my mom."
"I have information about your mom that you probably need to know." I stated. "I saw her kissing Caleb last night."
"Oh…" She remarked in surprise. "I think it would be a good idea not to tell Marissa. She really thinks that my mom wants to get back with my dad. Now things are going to be super-awkward."
"I'm sorry." I apologized. "I just thought that as your girlfriend, I shouldn't keep secrets from you."
"I appreciate you telling me." She declared. "This really sucks. He's like your grandfather. So if they got married, my mom would be your grandmother."
"Do you think Anna's here yet?" I asked.
"If she is, hopefully Seth isn't being too friendly with her. He needs to make a move." Kaitlin opined. "So have you talked about getting it changed yet?"
"Well last night the time was wrong Sandy and Kirsten had a fight." I answered.
"Are you two ready?" Kirsten asked as she entered the pool house.
"Where's Sandy?" I questioned.
"Don't ask." She told me. This is why he shouldn't have taken the case.
The first thing that happened was the photographer wanted a picture of the Cooper family. I noticed that Julie wasn't exactly thrilled about it.
"Samantha, why don't you join us?" Julie suggested.
"It's a family picture." I told her before I walked onto the boat. I was glad that Caleb hadn't seen me at least. I noticed that Summer ditched her date almost immediately.
"Is that jealousy that I see?" I asked her.
"No, why would I be jealous that he brought a sexy blonde with him?" She replied.
"Wait a minute. You're not jealous of her. You're jealous of him." I declared.
"That's completely ridiculous." She responded. "I'm not jealous of anyone. Now if you excuse me, I need to be somewhere else right now."
Well this was an interesting development I couldn't help but wonder how this was going to affect things. So what I'm getting is Seth likes Summer and Anna, Anna likes Seth and Summer, and Summer likes Anna and possibly Seth. I've never seen a more messed up love triangle.
Later, I was at the bar getting Kaitlin and I some non-alcoholic drinks. It was then that Julie appeared next to me.
"Hi, Samantha." She greeted me politely.
"This is a nice party." I told her awkwardly.
"Thank you, and thanks for not telling Marissa." She replied.
"I did tell Kaitlin." I responded. "We agreed not to tell her because don't want to hurt her, but she is pretty excited about you and Jimmy possible getting back together. I hope you plan on telling her pretty soon."
"It's my life and I'll tell her when I'm ready." She responded. "Stay out of this, it's none of your business."
I then went outside to notice that Marissa was teasing Summer about liking Seth. She looked so happy. I didn't really want to ruin her mood. I then walked up to the top deck and met up with Kaitlin.
"Sorry, I don't have the drinks." I apologized. "Your mom met me at the bar."
"What did she say?" She asked curiously.
"She basically said that I didn't have any right to tell Marissa." I replied.
"Tell me what?" Marissa asked as she walked over. "Kaitlin, Mom and Dad are getting along so well. If Dad finds a job soon, maybe we can be neighbors again."
"I wouldn't count on it." I responded. "I've seen this before."
"My parents may get back together." Marissa argued.
"Mom's dating Caleb." Kaitlin told her. "Sammie saw them kissing last night."
She was definitely upset by it. We could tell as she walked off.
"Maybe this wasn't the right time to crush her dreams." I said to Kaitlin. "Maybe we could have waited until tomorrow or something."
"Sammie, I don't want to see my sister like that. I just wanted to rip the Band-Aid off." She stated. "I'm sorry if it was insensitive, but it's better than her clinging to something that wasn't going to happen."
"You didn't have to tell her tonight." I reiterated.
"I'm sorry, are you dating me or her?" She asked before she stormed off. I'm kind of impressed that it took us this long to get into a fight over Marissa. I sighed and went to find Seth and Anna. They were sitting and making fun of the crazy locals. I'm glad he was having fun.
"Where's your girlfriend?" Anna asked me.
"We had a fight." I explained. "Mind if I join you? So do you hate Newport too?"
"I don't really hate it. I think it's starting to grow on me." Anna replied before she kissed Seth again. He seemed surprised by it.
"Do you want something to drink? How about you Sammie?" He asked hastily before walking away.
"I'm sorry he's an idiot." I apologized. I went inside and found Marissa. Julie was giving a speech about money.
"There's my beautiful daughter, Marissa. How about you come up and say something?" Julie suggested. Now she was asking for it. "Marissa would you like to announce the lucky couple that won our raffle?"
"How about a round of applause for my mom and Caleb Nichol?" Marissa requested as people clapped. "If anyone deserves a romantic getaway for two, it's them. Aren't they just the perfect couple? They've been keeping their romance a secret, but tonight the secret's out."
I had to say that I was impressed by that. I also knew that I needed to find my girlfriend. She was over on the deck by herself, looking into the ocean. I walked over to her.
"So, it seems like Marissa took it pretty well." I told her. "You missed her revealing the relationship to everyone. You were right."
"I'm sorry for lashing out at you." She apologized. "I guess I had my own frustrations about this relationship and they just came out."
"Maybe you should go check on her?" I asked. "I should probably find Kirsten and get going."
I went and found her…and Sandy.
"There's something that I've been wanting to talk to you two about all week." I told them. They turned to listen. "I want to change my name. I want to be a Cohen."
"We'll get to work on that soon." Sandy promised me.
When I got home, I found Kaitlin was waited for me in the pool house.
"So my dad thinks I'm staying with Marissa and Summer." She replied. "I'm kind of tired. Can we just sleep tonight?"
"Sure." I told her.
So Sammie wants to be a Cohen, is it going to happen soon? Also she and Kaitlin had their first fight, but they made up quickly and the Summer/Seth/Anna situation is all screwed up. Please don't forget to review.
