I walked into the kitchen to see Sandy looking for a bagel which I think Hailey was eating. I grabbed myself some OJ to find out that there was about 2 ounces left. Seth tried to look for the Arts section of the paper, but I think Hailey was reading it. Okay, she's starting to become a problem.
"She's eating us out of house and home." Sandy complained.
"Sandy, it's just a bagel." Kirsten told her husband.
"Mom, as someone who's basically been a shut-in for the last 16 years, I can pretty much say that woman never leaves the house." Seth remarked.
"That's because all her friends want to kick her ass." I replied. "Sorry…"
"Why I'd like to kick her ass." Sandy replied.
"Kirsten, there's no more coffee, will you make some?" Hailey whined from the other room. Does she not know how to make coffee? I know how to make coffee. Okay, I did work as a waitress, but I knew before I did. Sandy was whispering 'No' repeatedly.
"I'll talk to her." Kirsten remarked before she walked into the kitchen.
"I guess I'll have to survive on English muffins." Sandy muttered before walking away as well.
I went into the pool house to get ready for school.
"Kaitlin? Kaitlin are you here?" Seth asked. "She's gotta be here somewhere."
"You're hilarious." I deadpanned.
"Well Hailey's always in the living room and Kaitlin is always here." Seth pointed out. "What happened to Seth/Sammie time? That was quality time."
"What do you wanna talk about?" I questioned.
"Anna and I slept together…or tried to. It didn't exactly go well." He stated. "I need some advice on how to have sex with a girl. I also need to figure out how to tell Summer that we're dating. I don't want to hurt her, or her to hurt me."
At that point, Kaitlin came in.
"Summer's not gonna hurt you." She responded as she walked over and grabbed my hand "Unless you did something to make her angry."
"We should go." I responded.
"We need to finish talking about this later." Seth declared.
"Look, it probably wasn't that bad." I replied. "No one really knows what they're doing during their first time. It can get really awkward if both people are virgins."
"Oh my God you had sex?" Kaitlin asked in disbelief. "Judging by the fact that you think Summer will hurt you, I assume it was with Anna."
"This was kind of a private conversation." Seth replied.
"Well maybe Anna was trying to convince herself that she was into it because she doesn't want to admit that she likes Summer more." I told him.
"So what do you wanna do tonight?" Kaitlin asked me.
"Do we have to do something together?" I questioned as we went out to the car. "I mean we don't need to spend every night together. Maybe you could spend some time with Marissa tonight."
"Can we get back to talking about me?" Seth questioned.
"Well you have to make her feel like she's going to explode." Kaitlin declared. I looked at her. "What, that's what you like."
"And I didn't need to know that." Seth declared as we arrived at school.
We went inside and separated from Seth.
"So are you really okay with me spending the night with Marissa?" She asked.
"I think we could really use some time with our siblings." I suggested. "I mean I know Seth is probably going to want some pointers."
"He probably wishes that he had another guy to talk to." She pointed out. That was definitely true.
"Do you not want to spend with Marissa?" I asked her.
"Well we still haven't really talked that much since Christmas." She explained.
"That's why it would be the perfect time to bury the hatchet." I stated. "You two don't want to become like Kirsten and Hailey after all."
"Which one would I be?" She questioned curiously.
"Well you're obviously the more responsible one like Kirsten." I said. "Though, I don't want to compare you to someone who my mom in all but blood."
After school, I noticed Holly standing by her jeep. I hadn't talked to her in a little while.'
"Hey, how's it going?" I questioned.
"Somebody slashed my tire." She stated. I guess people still didn't like her being the slutty druggie's daughter.
"Do you know how to change it?" I inquired. "Would you like it if I showed you?"
"I've got a spare in the back." She responded.
"Hey, Holly I could help you with the tire." Some guy declared. "I love it when a girl bends over."
"Do you think I'm getting what I deserve after all these years of being a bitch?" She questioned as she took out the jack. I got on my knees and showed her how to work it.
"That's subjective." I told her.
"Well my New Year's resolution is to not sleep with anyone unless I love them." She declared as I started to remove the nuts.
"Do you wanna get out of here?" I questioned once the new tire was on.
"Yes." She declared. We then began to play a game of Madden.
"Who plays PS3 for the sports games?" Seth asked.
"Some of us actually like sports." Holly pointed out.
"I thought you said it was going to be just us tonight." Seth responded as Holly scored a touchdown. "We need to talk about my problem."
"What's your problem? You're upset by the new ban list in Yu-Gi-Oh?" Holly questioned.
"No, I had sex." Seth replied. "It kind of sucked."
"Well you probably don't know how to properly satisfy a girl." Holly told him. "Okay, you definitely don't. Do you want to know how?"
"Are you offering to teach me?" Seth questioned. This was starting to get weird.
"Well it will be a hands-off experience, but I might be able to teach you." She remarked. I then paused the game and took Holly into the bathroom with me.
"What are you doing?" I asked her.
"I'm not offering to have sex with him, even though he is kind of cute in a nerdy way…" She responded.
"Well Seth is in a very complicated relationship with girls right now and I don't know if it's a good idea to add you to it." I pointed out.
"So you're basically telling me that I can't date your brother." She summarized. "We are friends now, aren't we?"
At that point, my phone began to ring. It was Kaitlin. I pushed Holly out so I could talk to her in private.
"Hey, how's Marissa." I asked my girlfriend.
"With Oliver." She responded. "Apparently she wasn't on board with the whole hanging with siblings thing."
"Oh yeah, eat it Cohen." I heard Holly shout.
"Are you hanging out with Holly?" She inquired.
"Yeah, she kind of had a bad day at school." I pointed out. "Some douche slashed her tire.' I explained. So it ended up with us meeting up with Oliver, Marissa and Kaitlin. I guess group stuff was different than couple stuff. He had some food.
"So where is the silverware?" Seth asked as Holly just decided to dig in.
"Moroccans eat with their hands." Oliver explained. He then looked at Marissa and flirtatiously asked "How's the couscous."
"It's pretty good." I answered. It turned out that I was not eating couscous but some other dish that I couldn't spell.
"It's so cool that you live in a penthouse." Seth gushed.
"Yeah, it's always been my fantasy to live in a hotel." Marissa added.
"It seems like an easy way to become spoiled." I declared.
"It's more lonely because my parents travel so much." Oliver told us.
"Well if you ever need any company, just give me a call." Seth remarked.
"Thanks, because they're opening a new hotel in Paris." He responded. Everyone then began to talk about Paris, but me. "Have you ever been to Paris, Sammie?"
"No, but I hear the Louvre is cool." I answered.
"No, avoid the Louvre." He instructed. "The Rodin is where it's at, though my family has mostly been in Switzerland, snowboarding the Alps."
"Okay, that's awesome." Holly stated. "I've never been there."
"My family's got a place in Big Bear. We should go sometime." Oliver suggested.
"Where's the bathroom?" I asked.
"It's down the hall to the right." Oliver stated as I grabbed Kaitlin.
"Thanks." I told him. Once we were inside, I looked at Kaitlin. "I don't trust this guy."
"I know he's kind of shady, but he just seems lonely to me." Kaitlin commented. "I think you're being paranoid."
We went back into the living room and found out that Oliver had apparently got out us tickets to a concert. He knew the band somehow.
"Okay, maybe you're right." Kaitlin whispered.
The next morning, Seth was back to complaining about Summer and Anna.
"Well Anna did choose to lose her virginity to you." I pointed out. "That's gotta mean something."
"I need to figure out how to tell Summer." He stated as I sat at the table. "I could call her."
"That's effective and it prevents her from hitting you." I opined before taking a bite of my French toast. "You know I'm surprised that I'm having this conversation with you and not Anna since she's the one that Summer likes."
"You're right. I can have Anna tell her that she's dating me." He agreed. "That way I can focus on Paramore tonight."
"I saw Paramore open for Fall Out Boy last year." Hailey stated as she walked into the kitchen.
"We're seeing them tonight." Seth explained.
"I thought it was sold out." She declared.
"It is but we know a guy." Seth told her. "Oliver."
"Oliver the creepy guy that Sammie was talking about before bed last night?" Hailey asked. "If he has a girlfriend, where is she?"
"I don't know." I replied as Hailey poured some cereal.
"Mind if I finish the Cornflakes?" She inquired before going off to do so.
"Well at least she asked, it's a start." Seth stated.
That night, I met with Kaitlin in the pool house. I was trying my best to look edgy. I added some blue stripes to my hair and put on extra eyeliner with a grey dress.
"Whoa, you look hot." Kaitlin told me.
"So do you know if Marissa's met Natalie?" I questioned.
"I don't think so." She responded.
"I'm starting to wonder if she even exists." I pointed out. "I guess getting to meet Paramore will be nice though."
She then gave me a hell of a kiss. If we didn't need to worry about being late, things probably would have gone much farther.
"Hopefully she is real so Oliver will leave Marissa alone." Kaitlin told me. "Tonight we'll have fun."
"We don't have to dance do we?" I questioned her.
"Well maybe some slow-dancing to 'The Only Exception'." She replied before she got on top of me.
We went to the concert and everyone was there…but Oliver. To make matters worse, he wasn't on the list. Then all of a sudden, Summer showed up. She said that she wasn't coming. We decided to go out to the parking lot and there he was.
"Hey, what happened? I thought I said back door." He remarked.
Okay, so I guess he did pull through on this. We ended up seeing the band. Hayley Williams was much hotter in person. Everyone started to go in except for Kaitlin and I who stayed with Marissa.
"So where's Natalie?" Marissa questioned.
"We had another fight. This long-distance thing is a problem." Oliver explained. "It looks like I'm dateless tonight."
"I'll be your date." Marissa offered as she walked in with him.
"So did you know that our relationship just got more faux-incestuous?" Kaitlin questioned. "I'm pretty sure that my dad is dating your aunt."
"Well this night keeps getting better and better." I muttered, hoping that the show would at least rock.
I had never been backstage to anything before. One thing that I learned was Holly played guitar. I also noticed that Seth and Anna were trying to figure out how to tell Summer that they were dating still. I also noticed that there were a lot of hot girls here.
"So here we are." She told me.
"I know." I said. "Do we have a plan?"
"A plan for what?" Kaitlin responded.
"To tell Marissa that we think Oliver is bad news." I replied.
"Sammie, we don't have any actual proof of this and we can't do anything without it." She pointed out. "Maybe he really is a great guy."
"Fine." I agreed. "So are you mad that Holly is our third wheel?"
"No, I think she's changed." She responded. "But I'm not sharing you with her."
"At least our situation isn't as bad as the triangle of doom." I added.
We went out to the concert. I had to admit that this was fun. I also found out that it's not a good idea to give Holly a Red Bull.
"This place is awesome!" She shouted. "I love Paramore. So how do you guys feel tonight? Are you as good as I am?"
"Well we're not exactly bad." Kaitlin replied as she began to rub my back. It was calming me down. I had to fight off the urge to let any noises leave me mouth, including the words to the songs because I know I should not sing. I did find out that Kaitlin had a really nice singing voice. She's going to have to serenade me sometime. I will make her.
I did like dancing with her in the back to "The Only Exception" just like we said that we would. I did care if anyone stared. It even got my mind off the fact that Marissa was with a guy that didn't know or if he did care that she was gay. I was happy to be with Kaitlin.
I knew that Marissa had gone to the front with Oliver, which still worried me. I really wanted to enjoy the show, but I was worried. The band was currently singing "That's What You Get". Kaitlin was dancing around me and feeling me up a little. She was definitely being a good distraction. Holly had a few guys around her and I realized that I might need to separate her from them soon.
"We should grab Marissa." I suggested as the two of us went to the front and dragged her away.
"We're missing the show." Marissa complained. "I thought you two wanted to hang out with friends."
"Well, you've known Oliver for two weeks." I pointed out. "He's not much of a friend."
"He's trying to stay clean." Marissa argued. "You don't know what he's going through."
"Do we need to know what he's going through?" Kaitlin replied.
"Why don't you two just go home if you don't want to be here?" Marissa spat. Who said we didn't want to be here?
"I guess we might as well grab Holly and tell her it's time to go then." I declared. I can't believe that Marissa had to go and ruin the concert for me. We began to walk away.
"Wait, I didn't mean that." Marissa called behind us.
We went outside and saw that Oliver was getting hassled by some guy. I decided to intervene, before he showed me a badge.
"What's going on?" I questioned.
"This guy just tried to buy three grams of coke from me." The officer explained. So much for getting clean.
"Don't tell anyone." Oliver requested as he was dragged away.
"Okay, you were definitely right." Kaitlin admitted. "So, now what do we do?"
"Well I don't know if we should tell Marissa about this." I declared. "We'll just tell her that he had to go home."
I then went to the bar and noticed that Seth was struggling to get a drink.
"Hey." I greeted him, which got home to look at me and got the bartender's attention.
"How do you do that?" He questioned before I pointed to my chest and ordered a Pepsi. "So Anna is telling Summer that we're a couple. I will be officially dating Anna soon."
I decided to call Sandy to see if he knew what to do. I knew that going to the police station was a good idea. I took a cab there and left the keys with Seth to take Kaitlin home. Sandy came by and talked to the cops. I waited in the waiting room. I wasn't sure why I was doing it. I barely even knew the guy and I did want to be right, but I guess I just didn't want Marissa to get hurt. I then noticed him coming out.
"Well?" I questioned.
"They're gonna let him go." Sandy replied as he took a seat next to me.
"How do you do that?" I asked.
"I'm just that good." He answered. "And I used to play poker with these guys."
"Thanks for doing this, even if I can't give a good reason why I want to be let go." I stated.
"Is he a friend of yours?" He asked me.
"He's a friend of Marissa's that he met in therapy. He says he's been clean for a while, but I guess that's not true anymore." I explained.
"Well this kid is lucky." Sandy replied. "I also don't know how any parent could leave the country without their kid. I'm glad you called me."
Sandy went off to fill out Oliver's paperwork, which left him with me.
"So thank you." Oliver stated as he sat next to me.
"It was for Marissa, not you." I remarked. "Oh and I don't know if she's told you but she's gay."
"So I take it you don't like me." He responded.
"I don't know you." I pointed out.
"Well if it's any consolation, I don't like myself very much right now either." He stated. "I guess I was upset because Natalie didn't show."
I guess she was real at least.
"I was with Marissa and your friends and I realized that I have no one of my own." He added.
I sighed. I really didn't want to feel sorry for this guy.
"Marissa is your friend." I pointed out. "Seth likes you and Holly likes everyone at this point."
"Well you must like me a little to get me out of jail." He pointed out.
"I guess I do." I agreed. It was at that point that I noticed Marissa was calling me. "I don't want to tell her about this, but I would like it if you did."
I handed him my phone and he answered it. After I went home, I noticed that Seth had brought Kaitlin here. I meant her house.
"Does your mom not know or not care if you stay over?" I questioned.
"I'm not staying over." She replied. "I did want to say that Marissa said thanks."
"Are you sure that you don't wanna stay over?" I asked as she began to kiss me.
"Oh, wow, kissing." Seth interrupted. I looked and noticed that he had Anna and Summer with him. Now he's definitely my brother. "We were all gonna hang out."
"Hey what are we doing?" Holly questioned excitedly. "What are we doing?"
"She had too many Red Bulls." Seth explained.
"You two can go back to making out." Summer replied before everyone left.
"I think the moment has been ruined." I declared as we got up.
Seth and Holly were playing Yu-Gi-Oh while Kaitlin and I were making out and Summer sat in between Seth and Anna. Marissa then came back from the kitchen.
"Hey Sammie, your turn." Holly told me as Seth handed me his deck. We had a lot of fun.
So now the group is all together. And Oliver is causing trouble. At least he won't be around much longer. Please don't forget to review.
