It was Monday and Kaitlin and I were with Seth at school. I was wearing a black tank with white stripes and a black miniskirt with black leather jacket and grey scarf, which was strictly for fashion purposes.

"So Marissa won't talk to us." I told my brother.

"Well Kaitlin did accuse a guy of faking a suicide attempt." Seth pointed out.

"I still think that he did." She piped in.

"You're so compassionate." Seth quipped. "You should work for UNICEF."

"So how are you feeling since Anna dumped you to be with Summer?" I questioned, wanting a different subject.

"Well I probably deserved it." Seth replied. "I asked her to choose and she did."

"I do think something about Oliver is off." Kaitlin remarked. I wanted to agree with her, but I was more confused than anything else.

"Well he tried to kill himself or he faked it." Seth pointed out. "Either way, it's pretty off."

"It seems like Marissa and I can't stop fighting about this guy." She responded.

"I think you're jealous because he's spending more time with your sister than you are." I suggested. "I've been through it. Seth just went through it. It's something that happens."

"Well I was never jealous when she was Holly." She argued.

"Maybe it's because you've known Holly for so long." Seth opined. "If you want my advice, you should try to make peace with this guy, both of you. You know I'm glad that Anna and I aren't together. I think we were too similar. It seemed like it would get boring. "

"Well I need to go in the other direction to class." Kaitlin responded before she gave me a peck on the lips and walked off. "See you."

"You know I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing that." Seth commented before I kicked his shin. "So yeah, Anna was basically me as a girl. I just need to find a new lady."

I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell him that Holly kind of liked him or not. I saw Marissa and decided to go talk to her.

"Hey." I greeted her. "How are you?"

"I'm okay." She replied.

"How's Oliver?" I questioned.

"Do you really wanna know?" She rebutted. I didn't have a lot against him.

"Yes." I told her.

"He feels bad. He doesn't understand why Kaitlin and I are fighting over him taking pills, which I don't understand either." She explained.

"Well Kaitlin was going through some feminine problems." I pointed out. "What I think and I think she's considering is we should all be friends. I might get weird, but we should really try this."

"Samantha, Marissa." Mr. Bendis interrupted. "I want you to meet our new transfer student. He says you're all friends."

Oliver then stepped out. Well this was awkward.

We led him around the school and found Summer and Anna. I had a feeling that Kaitlin would not be happy when she found out that Oliver was going to school here now.

"Hey are you visiting Harbor?" Summer questioned.

"No, Oliver goes here now." I explained. They both looked shocked at that.

"It's never too late for a new start." Oliver remarked.

"What a surprise." Anna declared.

"You didn't tell anyone?" Oliver asked Marissa. I wasn't surprised that I didn't know because I hadn't spoken to her.

"I didn't think you really meant it." She responded.

"Of course, I have more friends here than I did at my last school." Oliver declared.

"Well I'm gonna go and wash up. It's tuna melt Monday and I love tuna." Anna replied. I hoped no one would make a lesbian fish joke, but I think we were more mature than that, especially since it wasn't true. I know because I hate fish. She then walked away.

"So I was gonna take Oliver to the bookstore since we both have free periods." Marissa stated.

"Marissa and I have like the exact same schedule." Oliver added. Okay, that was a little creepy. "What are the odds?"

"Have fun." I suggested. Was it possible to have fun at the bookstore? Actually, I'm not sure if I want to know the answer to that. The two of them walked off leaving me with Summer as Seth walked over.

"You know I'm really looking forward to the tuna melts today." He declared.

"Oliver goes here and he has the exact same schedule as Marissa." I replied angrily. I was starting to think Kaitlin was right about him.

"Sammie, breathe, breathe." Seth instructed.

"What the fuck is Oliver doing here?" Kaitlin interrupted with a look of fire in her eyes. "I need a distraction so I don't try to kill him."

I was pretty sure that she wouldn't actually try to kill him, but I took her to lunch. It was too bad we were too young for off-campus lunch. There was some making out involved though.

"So you weren't serious about Oliver, were you?" I questioned.

"No, but I think that he's a stalker and him being here is wrong on a thousand levels." She replied.

We were then interrupted by Holly laughing hysterically. It seemed like she had a new boyfriend. It seemed like she wouldn't be dating Seth anytime soon. He was cracking a lot of jokes.

"That guy seems like he would get annoying real quick." I commented. "Look as for Oliver, yeah he's a bit creepy, but he has not done anything wrong."

"Except lie about a suicide attempt." She reminded me.

"I don't know what happened, okay." I argued. "I don't want to call him a liar."

"Why aren't you agreeing with me?" She asked.

"Because I think you're taking this hatred of him a little too far." I declared.

At that point, Oliver walked over with a stack of books.

"Is this seat available?" He asked.

"Sure." Kaitlin said through her teeth.

"I'm really behind." He commented.

"I know how you feel." I told him as Kaitlin looked at me, not him.

"So how's your sophomore year looking?" He asked me.

"You're a senior right?" I questioned.

"Not a good one." He replied. "Not all of my credits transferred."

"So why did you come here?" Kaitlin questioned.

"It wasn't up to me. My parents insisted." He explained. "They put the paperwork in a while ago."

"But why would you transfer?" I questioned. "You were about to graduate."

"Things weren't working there." He declared. Kaitlin just rolled her eyes. "There was an incident."

"What kind of incident." I asked.

"I've made some mistakes in the past." He replied. "I just want you too to let me in like they like Sammie in. I could finally start. That's really all I want."

"Hey guys." Marissa stated as she walked over. "So how do you guys feel about going to Oliver's after school? I was gonna help him with his French?"

"I thought you spent a year in Paris." I remarked. "Didn't you speak the language?"

"Sweet talking my way into a club isn't the same as conjugating infinitives." He said. I guess he had a point.

"We were planning a date tonight." Kaitlin answered. I guess we were going out then.

Oliver held his hand out and I shook it before he left.

I later found out that our "date" was playing videogames with Seth.

"I don't trust him." Seth said to her as I watched them trying to kill each other.

"Trust who?" Sandy asked.

"Holly has this new boyfriend that just seems off." Seth explained.

"You're talking about a girl that's not Summer or Anna?" Kirsten asked in disbelief. "How is he off?"

"I just don't think he's funny." Seth continued. "He's big, but big doesn't mean funny all the time."

"He said there was an incident." I stated.

"The big funny did?" Seth asked.

"No, Oliver." Kaitlin replied.

"Can we forget Oliver for 5 seconds and talk about me?" Seth requested.

"We always talk about you." Kaitlin responded.

"I want to know why he left Pacific. What if he's violent?" I continued. "This is a guy that lived in France but apparently needs Marissa to help him with his French."

"Fajitas are served." Sandy announced before Seth and Kaitlin put the controllers down.

"There has to be someone we can talk to." Kaitlin stated.

"How about you break into the file room and steal his bio?" Seth suggested jokingly. "Or you two can be grownups forget about it and move on like me."

"Let's do it." Kaitlin whispered to me.

It was probably a monumentally bad idea, but later at night, we went to the school. The doors were open, but there was a security guard.

"Can I help you girls?" He asked.

"We forgot a book that we need for a really important assignment." I replied.

He opened the door and we went inside. You would think that he would want to escort us, but he didn't. We walked into the school and began to look around. We found the door to the file storage was open. I walked in while Kaitlin played lookout.

There was a mug shot and I got the signal from Kaitlin that I needed to leave. I put it back quickly and grabbed a book from my locker.

"Sorry, I forgot the combination for a second." I said to the guard.

"So this guy filed a restraining order against him and that's why he left Pacific." I pointed out. "This was two years ago."

"What are we going to do about this?" She questioned. "Should we talk to Dr. Kim or something?"

"I think we should." I declared we went to the car.

We talked to her without bringing up that we went to the file room.

"Samantha, we make exceptions for students with strong promise if their histories aren't perfect." She told me. "Unless two have proof of anything that's happened lately, Mr. Trask will remain here. We have to be fair."

We then walked out as we saw Holly with her boyfriend once again.

"So we need to find some proof." Kaitlin replied. "Maybe we can find out that he faked his suicide attempt or something else that he did."

"Kaitlin, we need to do something that isn't illegal." I pointed out. "I don't trust Oliver as far as I can throw him, but we could get in a lot of trouble if we're wrong."

"I don't want him here at school with her." She told me. We went down the hall together and saw he was talking to her again. "Maybe we can at least prove that he's stalking her."

"Well he's handing her a letter." I explained before she put it inside.

"We should see what it says." She suggested as we walked toward it. "I know her combination. I can say that I needed to borrow some makeup."

"I think I have a better idea." I responded. "We should talk to Sandy and Kirsten instead of doing something stupid."

That night, we met them in the kitchen.

"We need to talk to you." I replied. "We're really concerned about the school letting Oliver go to school there."

"Look, I agree this kid is trouble, but I don't know if we can do anything." Sandy replied.

"Isn't there some kind of legal thing you can do?" Kaitlin asked. "Someone took out a restraining order against him before, can't you?"

"It would need to be either Marissa or your parents that file one against him." Sandy explained. "We can't do anything."

The two of them left the room and Kaitlin opened up her purse…and pulled out the letter.

"That is a serious problem." I explained. "You have to put it back. We can't do it like this. We can't read this. I mean as shady as he is and with everything, we still do not have any reason to believe that he would actually hurt her. This level of paranoia that you're showing is scaring me. Maybe we should just leave it alone. Promise me that you'll put it back."

"I promise." She said.

In the morning, she was in the pool house once again. That wasn't too much of a surprise.

"I know what you said last night but I need to talk to you." She declared.

"Did you read it?" I asked in disbelief.

"It's really bad, Sammie." Kaitlin stated. "He says that he can't live without and has never met anyone like her."

"That is not proof that he's a crazy stalker." I pointed out. "You stole a letter that wasn't addressed to you. You have to put it back."

"But it's bad." She repeated.

"Kaitlin, put it back or we're done." I threatened. She stared at me in horror. "This is going too far. We need to stop this because it's bringing out the worst in you. You could even be right, but you're acting crazy too."

"Hey." Marissa declared as she opened the door, Kaitlin hid the letter behind her back. "I thought you might be here now. I was wondering if you wanted to do that cooking lesson with Oliver today."

"We can't. We're helping Mom and Kirsten move furniture in the new model home." Kaitlin lied. Now we would probably have to do it. It probably would be better than hanging out with Oliver.

At school, I stood by Kaitlin in front of Marissa's locker.

"Put it back. I mean it." I declared. "If it's as bad as you say it is, Marissa can read it and she'll know that he's a creep,"

She began to do the combination and suddenly Oliver was there.

"That's so cool that you know your sister's combo." Oliver remarked. "That shows a lot of trust"

"Well I never know if I need something from her." Kaitlin declared with a forced laugh.

"Let me guess, you need more eyeliner." Oliver joked.

"What's this about eyeliner?" Holly asked, away from her boyfriend for once. "I'm trying to avoid Danny. All he does is joke around. It was cute at first, but now he's annoying me."

"So, Marissa and I were thinking about putting together a camping trip. Does that interest you?" He asked.

"That sounds great." Holly replied.

"I'll let her know that you're in." Oliver stated before he walked away.

"I think I found someone that I like less than Danny." Holly said once he was gone. "He's here for Marissa. It's time to let him know that he needs to stay away from her."

"This is a bad idea." I remarked.

"I can do it." Holly offered. "I took Tae Kwon Do you know."

"That's meant to be used defensively." I pointed out.

"Just give me the word and I will drop The Great Gatsby." Holly responded. Wow that was a surprisingly fitting comparison. She then walked away.

"She's right." Kaitlin agreed. "She really is right."

"Kaitlin, I want you to love me more than you hate Oliver." I told her. "Can you tell me that you love me more than you hate him?"

"We should go." Kaitlin responded. "We have to do this at the house."

"Kaitlin, I'm not going anywhere until you answer the question." I replied.

"I want to." She responded. "But I think the worst thing that can happen is I could be right and he tries to hurt her."

At that point, Marissa walked over to us.

"Kaitlin we need to talk." Marissa declared sternly and angrily "I just spoke to Dr. Kim."

"I'm doing this to protect you." Kaitlin told her. "Oliver is dangerous."

"What are you talking about?" Marissa asked.

"I don't trust him and he has a history of obsessing over girls." Kaitlin responded.

"He's not obsessed with me. He knows I don't like guys." Marissa argued. "You have never trusted him since he's shown up. I need you to trust me as your sister."

"He has serious issues and he's in love with you." Kaitlin shouted.

"No, we are just friends." Marissa stated.

"Then how do you explain this?" Kaitlin declared as she pulled out the letter.

"You stole this from me, didn't you?" Marissa asked. She looked more hurt than she did angry. This was a mess. I had a feeling that I should leave, but then Kaitlin wouldn't have a way to get home.

"Do you know what it says?" Kaitlin questioned.

"I can't believe that you stole it and read it." Marissa yelled.

"I'm protecting you from him." Kaitlin snapped at her. "How can you say that he's not in love with you?"

"Because he didn't write it to me, he wrote it to Natalie." Marissa explained. Kaitlin looked crushed by that. "He wants to get back together with her and he just wanted me to read it first and tell him if he needed to take anything out."

"I'm sorry." Kaitlin apologized.

"I don't want to look at you anymore." Marissa replied. "You're just like Mom. You don't trust me, but now I don't trust you."

Well that seemed like it broke Kaitlin's heart. I was pretty sure that she didn't want to go home.

We spent all night in the pool house. It was a lot of her crying and watching sad movies to make her cry some more. I was worried that she would get dehydrated. She had talked over and over again about how she had fucked up and Marissa was never going to speak to her again. I was doing my best to comfort her. I'd never seen a girl cry that much.

We went out for breakfast in the morning. She looked like she needed some coffee.

"I don't think that this is over." I said as Holly walked in. "You can fix it."

"I dumped Danny." She announced. "How did that thing go?"

"We're not talking about." I stated.

We later came across Oliver in the rec room.

"So I heard what happened." He said.

"I'm sorry." Kaitlin apologized, even though she looked like she didn't want to. "I was wrong about you and I'm sorry."

"Did you think that I came here because I'm in love with Marissa?" He asked.

"This was all one crazy situation that I think it would be best if we put behind us." I declared.

"Maybe I don't want to." Oliver declared. "Marissa and I connect. She and I will be together."

"You stay away from her." Kaitlin threatened. "We're not gonna let this happen."

"No one is going to believe either of you." Oliver taunted before he walked away.

"I'm sorry for ever doubting you." I told Kaitlin. The only question was what were we going to do.

Things are about to reach the breaking point. Oliver is trouble, but no one else believes. Please don't forget to review.
