Chapter 10:

"The Tournament"

Once they got out of the marsh they noticed a small town with a lot of people there. After a while of walking towards the town they noticed the crowd was gathered around the arena. Apparently, there was a tournament.
"Hey, you," Zack said to a complete stranger, "What town is this?"
"It's Ruby town. Right now there's a tournament for trainers from all around the world."
"Cool," Stated Ashley.
"Come on guys," I said. "Let's go sign up."
After about ten minutes of aimlessly walking around, we finally found the sign-up booth.
"All three of us would like to sign up," Zack said.
"Okay," Said the lady at the desk. "Just sign these forms and you can go to the locker rooms."

After we finished in the locker rooms, we headed into the arena.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WELCOME TO THE 27TH ANNUAL POKéTOURNAMENT!" Boomed the announcer over the loudspeaker. "I'll now tell you the layout of the first matches: Peter vs. Lucy, Elliot vs. Ashley, Xan vs. Zack, Marcus vs. Eliza, Esteban vs. Barry, Silver vs. Luke, Jake vs. Sal, and May vs. Drew. LET THE BATTLE BEGIN."
Peter won the first match with his Treecko, and then the second match started.
"Come on out, Graveler," Said Elliot
"Jigglypuff, I choose you!" yelled Ashley.
"Gravler, use rock throw!"
"Dodge it and use hypnosis."
"OH AND GRAVELER FELL ASLEEP!" Shouted the announcer.
"Jigglypuff, repeatedly use double slap!"
"NO! Graveler!"
"And Graveler is down and out!" Yelled the announcer.
"Good job, Ashley," Said Zack.
"It's your turn," She replied.

"Shelgon, I choose you!" Screamed Xan.
"Trapinch, come on out!" Yelled Zack.
"Shelgon, use dragon breath."
"Trapinch! NO!"
"Keep using dragon breath!"
"NOOO!"
When all hope looked lost for Zack, it happened, Trapinch evolved into Vibrava!
"VIBRAVA!" Screamed Zack.
"Keep using dragon breath!"
BOOOOOM
"Vibrava!"
"AND VIBRAVA IS DOWN AND OUT!"

Eliza won the next match with her Ninetails. Barry won the match after that with his Skyarmory.
Then it was my battle. It was pretty quick. Lairon just used metal claw on Gastly and took him down.
Sal won the next round with his Ariados.
The last battle was insane. The challengers declared a two-on-two match. Drew had a Flygon and an Absol, and Dawn had a Squirtle and a Combusken. After a long battle, May was declared the winner.
After the first eight battles, we all went back to the hotel.
