-Dimension X-
Tigerclaw stood tall, gritting his teeth as the army charged him. He felt exhausted, having not slept in days, fighting for the small chance he might escape this dimension. Pain coursed through him like blood - even the most skilled warrior couldn't survive so many waves of attackers, day and night.
Tigerclaw closed his one eye, listening to the heavy thumping of the approaching army's feet, their raspy breath, the clink of their metal weapons, and the growls of the creatures they rode into battle. Even with his one remaining eye closed, Tigerclaw could still feel the impression of the odd orange sunset pressed against his eyelids. As the army closed in, the mutant remained calm. He knew Dimension X was desperate to destroy him, and he was determined to survive.
Slowly, Tigerclaw slid into a battle-ready position. He steadied his breathing, and ignored his pain. He felt his sword slide into his right hand and his left hand grip his gun. And as he opened his eye, and saw the army so close he had to look up to see their faces, Tigerclaw leapt into the mass like a madman, shooting non-stop and roaring loudly.
- The Fan-Fiction Dimension - (Oh yes, I did)
The turtles stumbled out of the portal, their mouths agape and realities distorted before they even took their new surroundings in fully. What was this place? It was odd, like nothing they'd ever seen - too much for words.
"Great!" complained Donatello90. "Just great! How are we ever going to find Shredder in all of this?" He spread his hands out, indicating the entire new dimension, sprawling and endless.
It did seem as hopeless as Donatello90 made it sound, and many others agreed solemnly. But nevertheless, they began to walk around, searching. The place was huge and confusing, and seemed more like many small worlds in a collection rather than one world unto itself. In one place, there was a very recognizable Lair, from the 2012 dimension, with Raphael and Leonardo arguing heatedly. But only a short distance away, completely disconnected from the 2012 Lair was another site akin to the city of the 1987 dimension, with near-clones of that world's turtles battling with Shredder87. Hundreds of thousands of these odd apparitions spread throughout an otherwise plain area, similar to the gray Dimensional Gateway. A lot of the places looked like they were from the 2003, 2012, and 2007 dimensions - their respective Lairs, complete with their turtles, as well as pizza places, rooftops and random places no one could remember (probably only belonging to this dimension alone).
"This is...weird," noted Leonardo96 all other words failing him as he awkwardly wandered around. He stopped and stared at Michelangelo13 across the hazy air of one of the disjointed worlds, this one from the 2007 dimension. The turtles and people in these mini-worlds didn't notice the huge amount of turtles wandering around; it seemed as if they couldn't see anything outside of the small world they occupied. The turtles of the mini-worlds also seemed like they weren't completely solid, more like they were colored fog shaped into the turtles, Splinters, Shredder, Aprils, Casey Joneses, and others. It seemed like they were memories playing out in someone's mind rather than real places and people, and because of their wispy, transparent appearance it was easy to tell the turtles of this dimension from the foreign ones stumbling around. No one panicked when they saw a foggy version of Shredder12, only the first couple times.
"Surreal!" Donatello03 remarked, poking his hand into one foggy world, as Raphael89 beside him said,"Let's not recruit any turtles from this dimension, okay guys?" Everyone instantly agreed. This place was creepy, especially with the way the words from each of the mini-worlds overlapped each other loudly, so it was hard to discern what words came from what world, and the way this dimension's turtles didn't notice anything outside their small area. The turtles also had a feeling this dimension was different from all the other dimensions, in a way that couldn't be explained but they knew wasn't good.
"Shredder could be anywhere!" growled Raphael90. "This place stretches on for miles!" He began to run into an unexplored area, scanning the dimension for any sign of the real Shredder12, with Casey Jones C running after him to help. The turtles began to spread out in small groups, searching for their enemy.
-In the Technodrome-
Inside the Fan-fiction dimension, Shredder12 was driving around in the Technodrome, staring at the monitor unblinkingly as the new world he was in expanded for miles in front of him. He couldn't believe his eyes. This place was one of the strangest things he had ever seen. He passed hundreds of minituare worlds that seemed unaware of anything going on outside of their small area. Some of the worlds looked similar to dimensions Shredder12 had already visited, apart from their wispy half-existant appearance.
"I have to get a look at this for myself," Shredder12 said to himself, deciding to go outside of the Technodrome. He didn't really need the vehicle now, seeing as the Technodrome wouldn't really fit in any of the smaller worlds in order to create chaos. But he'd stay close to it, just in case Shredder87 or anyone inside woke up.
Shredder stepped out of the portal (glad that he was too far away now to hear April87's near-constant screaming) and walked down a corridor, staring at the mini-worlds. Even over the heavy echo of his footsteps, Shredder12 could hear snippets of words coming from the mini-worlds, overlapping each other. Shredder12 suddenly felt very satisified. The Kraang had given him a smorgasborg of turtles and Splinters to destroy. He only had to pick which one to attack first.
"Kraang hopes the man known as Shredder is happy with the dimension Kraang has provided for him," said the alien in Shredder12's earpiece.
Shredder12 stopped in front of one particularly unique mini-world, staring inside at the turtles. This world would be his first victim.
"You couldn't be more correct, Kraang."
Donatello12 rushed down corridor after corridor with Donatello87, vaguely aware of the sounds of the other turtles' quick footsteps some distance away, sounding like the echoes of his.
Donatello12 wished he could take in all the small worlds he passed, but there were so many and he was running so fast and was relunctant to slow down. Apart from the small mini-worlds this place was empty, gray, bleak and so puzzling, as well as big and intimidating, so Donatello12 couldn't help but feel despair wash over him. Raphael90 was right. How could they possibly find Shredder12 in time, before he injured someone here, or escaped to another world?
All of the sudden, Donatello87, who had been at Donatello12's side the whole run, slowed to a walk. Donatello12 stopped and walked to his counterpart, who was catching his breath and staring transfixed at one of the many worlds. "What's wrong, uh, Donnie?" Donatello12 had to raise his voice to be heard over the constant noise coming from all the mini-worlds.
"Dude, look!" Donatello87 pointed to a mini-world his left, all the while never taking his eyes off it to look at Donatello12.
Donatello12 turned to look at the world Donatello87 was staring at, and felt his mouth drop open.
It was Shredder12, but with the foggy, unclear look of a being native to this dimension. He was on a rooftop, the dark sky behind him slightly illuminated by a beautiful blue moon. Donatello12 stepped back in shock as he saw a slightly off-kilter version of himself (despite having seen himself in these mini-worlds a few times, Donatello12 was still not used to it. It was different from seeing different versions of himself like Donatello87 or Donatello13). The foggy Donatello12 had a hard, determined look on his face as he ran at Shredder12, bo staff at the ready. Shredder12 promptly sent him off the roof with three quick punches. Donatello12 winced, but didn't feel pain for this Donatello as he heard him hit the ground, much unlike the way most of the Donatellos of different dimensions shared their pain when only one of them was truly injured.
Nevertheless, Donatello12 couldn't stand watching any longer as he saw his three brothers run at Shredder12, screaming for revenge. Donatello12 backed away farther, and was aware that his breath had quickened. He, in a way, had just seen his own death."What is this place?" His eyes darted around at the other mini-worlds, scarred of the further horrors they could reveal if he looked closely enough.
Donatello87 shook his head sadly, the same question on his mind. He put his hand on the dimension in which Donatello12 had fallen off the roof, and at first it looked like his hand was placed upon a hard surface, unable to enter the small world, until ripples started spreading across their view of the mini-world like it was made of water and Donatello87's hand abruptly slid into the other world. The turtle started and pulled it out quickly.
Donatello12 took a deep breath. "Let's keep going." He moved away from the mini-world, but didn't start running again quite yet. Despite having experienced a frightening third-person view of him falling off a tall building, Donatello12 was still unmeasurably curious about this place.
The next mini-world they came to looked like a replica of the 2007 dimension's lair. Raphael07, Donatello07, and Michelangelo07, and their Splinter were standing in a straight line. Leonardo07 was standing in front of them, looking forlorn and nervous. He had a heavy bag strung around his shoulders. He bowed to his sensei and turned to his brothers. Raphael was folded his arms and doing his best to look like he didn't care, but his sad eyes betrayed how he really felt. Both Michelangelo and Donatello looked very sad. The two exchanged goodbyes with their blue-masked leader and, after a heavy silence, Leonardo07 turned and began to walk away.
A voice rang out, surprisingly crisp and clear. It sounded exactly like Donatello07.
"One year, right? Like you promised?"
Leonardo07 turned and smiled before walking out of the lair. Out of view now, his reply echoed through the tunnels he had just entered. "Just like I promised, Donnie. And don't worry. I'll write a lot."
"Do you think that's really what happened?"
That wasn't one of the 2007 turtles' voices, Donatello12 realized. He felt like he was coming out of a trance as he looked away from the world and down at Donatello87. "What?"
"The Donatello from that dimension told me that his Leonardo left for two years for Brazil, to become a better leader, but he ended up staying longer. And he stopped writing. So do you think that scene was, uh, what really went on the day Leonardo left? Like it was some sort of vision of the past?"
Donatello12 shrugged. He didn't really believe what Donatello87 had said. Nevertheless, he developed a deep appreciation for the 2007 turtles, losing their brother for so long. Donatello12 couldn't imagine not seeing or hearing Leonardo12 for two years. It would be unbearable. "If that was a vision of the past, that wouldn't explain that other one where I was hit off the roof by Shredder. I would know for sure if I'd ever lived through something like that."
Donatello87 looked like he wanted to say more, and even opened his mouth to do so, but decided against it at the last moment. The two continued to walk on in silence. They passed more mini-worlds and peered into them as they past, half looking for Shredder12 to be in one of them (they couldn't feel the pain of Donatellos in this dimension so they wouldn't know if he was hurting one of them unless they saw him doing so) and half doing so just out of nervous curiosity.
A lot of the mini-worlds they walked by were as equally interesting as the earlier ones. One of them looked like a cute adventure between younger versions of the 2012 turtles that Donatello12 had no recollection of, and another similar one of the 2003 turtles. Another looked like the 2012 turtles on a camping trip telling spooky stories around a fire at night, in which Donatello12 looked mortally terrified of having April12 lean against his leg and ended up mangling his scary story because of his nervousness. One of the mini-worlds was a little boring, which was a sharp contrast to the others, as it just involved a lot of views of Leonardo03 texting on his ShellCell. One showed Michelangelo87 with his alien crush Kala, and another one with Raphael87 and a mutant lizard girl Donatello87 explained was Mona Lisa, a mutant who almost became Raphael87's girlfriend before disappearing.
Donatello87 suggested that perhaps these worlds could contain some views of what would happen in the future, even though some of the mini-worlds - such as the ones involving the turtles as small children and April12 mutating - went against this theory.
They came to another that Donatello87 couldn't help stop in front of. Donatello12 did, as well, and felt himself blush purfusely red as he saw that same misty half-there version of himself kissing April12. It was embarrassing, but he didn't look away, not even to glare at Donatello87, who at first seemed a little confused and grossed-out, until he broke down into hysterical laughing that didn't ebb away for several minutes, even after Donatello12 had relunctantly left the view of that world and had dragged Donatello87 with him.
But Donatello87's last remainder of amusement immediately died once he got a good look at a mini-world that Donatello12 was paying an unusual amount of attention. Donatello87 had to close his eyes to avoid taking in the full, gruesome view of April12's death. He opened them and looked up at Donatello12, who looked terrified. He looked paler than usual and his pupils were dilated and unblinking.
"Please...don't let this be the future..." Donatello12 mumbled. He wished more than anything he could unsee what he'd just seen. He would use anything in his power to prevent this, or the death of anyone he cared for.
"I'm so sorry," Donatello87 said. He looked around, hoping for something to cheer up Donatello12. He found something and couldn't help smiling. "Donnie, that dimension can't possibly be true. There's another world over there that shows you and April looking a lot older, and, uh, I guess you...adopted a kid? Look, you're telling her the story of Beauty and the Beast!"
Donatello12 seemed a lot more cheerful after this. He didn't know if April12 would die young, or end up with him years from now, or end up with Casey like some of the other mini-worlds suggested, and these worlds were still so confusing, but he now partly believed they weren't views of the future. Future events depended almost entirely on the complex decisions of people and their peers, so how could anyone or anything possibly predict exactly what could happen? Still, some of these worlds were so ideal for Donatello12 he wished some of them came true, like ones involving him and April12 years from now and ones depicting the defeat of Shredder12.
"There's always hope..."
Shredder12 stepped out of one of the mini-worlds, feeling happier than he had been in hours. He held up his arm, grinning at the blood splayed across the long, metal spikes. The feeling he had was indescribable, but wasn't complete. He needed to do all in his power to destroy the turtles and the Splinters, hardly resting until he was successful. They all had to fall. More than one turtle - a small, transparent, insignificant Michelangelo87 - had to die for Tang Shen's memory.
He strode calmly down the corridor, sneering as he saw dozens of views of turtles fighting Shredders, some of them Shredder12, some not. What mini-world should he enter now?
Shredder12 came to a halt at one particularly interesting mini-world. It was meek-looking and smaller than the others around it, and showed a dark, grimy sewer tunnel. Leonardo12, stood in it, breathing hard and looking beyond angry. It looked like he had sliced up bits of junk lying in the tunnel, to vent his anger. As Shredder12 watched, Leonardo12 suddenly shouted - his voice somewhat muffled and drowned out by the many other voices from the other mini-worlds. Nevertheless, Leonardo12's words were audible: "I am going to kill you someday, Shredder!" There was a pause, when Leonardo12 caught his breath and the manic glint in his eye died away. He looked sadly to his reflection in his sword and his next words were harder to hear. "...Then you will have finally paid the consequences for everything you have ever done."
This was perfect for Shredder12! A tired Leonardo12, deep in the sewers with neither Splinter or his brothers around to protect him. And this turtle was one from Shredder12's home dimension, making the villain's desire to kill him much stronger. As casually as if walking into a normal room, Shredder12 stepped into the mini-world, straight in front of the turtle. This would be quick.
Leonardo12 looked up, startled. He backed away, blinking furiously. "Shredder! What the - ? This can't be..." He trailed off.
Shredder12 noticed that while this Leonardo12 was misty and transparent, like a ghost with color, the turtle still acted very similar to the actual Leonardo12, and seemed to be living, rather than just the hologram he looked like.
Shredder12 stepped closer. "You said you would kill me, Leonardo. Here is your chance. Do your best."
Leonardo12 seemed to have realized there would be no surviving if he tried to run away, and certainly no honor, so he gathered all his strength and courage. Feeling scared out of his wits, he charged. "Hiya!"
April12 strode down the corridor, her eyebrows arched in puzzled suspicion. She glanced behind her at Raphael13 and Casey Jones12. The two were pointing out their favorite mini-worlds, which were pretty much the most violent ones the small group passed.
"Why are there so many worlds with Donnie and I doing this? Donnie and I doing that?" April muttered to herself, irritated by this dimension's confusing nature.
April12 found herself gazing into the small worlds as she walked by - something she had been avoiding doing for the most part - and she saw the 2003 turtles on a rooftop, glaring at a tall, skinny man in a long black cloak and dark shades. He sort of resembled the human disguises of the Kraang.
The next mini-world was quite cute and April12 felt a slight grin spread across her lips as she watched it for that brief moment. It showed the 2012 turtles, but they looked like they were five. Three of them were watching TV, awed at the slightly off-color picture of Godzilla demolishing a city.
"Shhhhhh! He's gonna get us!"
"Mikey, it's not even real - "
"Don't say that! He'll totally get us!" Michelangelo12, barely two feet tall and even more freckled than he was now, dived underneath a pile of pillows, while Raphael12 asked what he was doing.
"Pillow fort! C'mon get in, before the monster gets us!" Michelangelo12 shouted, before diving in again next to Leonardo12, who was paying rapt attention to the movie. Raphael12 considered it a moment and then joined the two others.
April12 felt emotions inside herself swell as she looked to the very corner of the mini-world, where a much shorter and younger Donatello12 was sitting alone, staring at his feet. He looked so sad, looking up every once in a while with a curious, hopeful look at his brothers.
April began to wonder if this was actually a moment from the 2012 turtles' early lives, and if so she was suddenly much fonder of Donatello12, who had seemed so alone, like she was in school these days.
April's thoughts were interrupted, though, by Raphael13's loud words. "Why are there no worlds in here that look like my dimension?" He seemed offended. "You two - your dimension and those square turtles have most of them! ...And I guess those tall skinny guys, too."
"Yeah," said Casey Jones 12 disdainfully, staring through his mask at one of the odder worlds they were walking by. "You must be really jealous. Every other world, see your death. Then see some awkward romantic scene between you and that dumb - "
"Casey! Shhhh!" April said, pressing a finger to her lips. "I hear footsteps." She swiftly pulled her tessen out of her pocket.
"Really?" Raphael13 whispered. "I hear nothing but a bunch a' overlapping babble. This world never shuts up."
"She's psychic-y," Casey Jones12 said, and it sounded like he was bragging about his crush being so amazing. "Got like this weird Kraang backstory. I'll tell it to you sometime - "
"I said shush!" April12 hissed. She turned, just in time to see Michelangelo12 rounding the corner. April instantly calmed down, waving as Leonardo12, Donatello89, and Leo C came after him.
"Geez, April!" Michelangelo12 said, pushing her hand holding the tessen down to her side. "Watch where you point that thing. I almost walked into it!"
"I guess you guys are covering this area," Leonardo12 said to April. "So I'll take my group somewhere else. Oh, and Raph called me on the T-phone (we have a signal here! Cool, right?) and he says his group spotted the Technodrome from a distance. But it is definitely not moving. Shredder must have abandoned it, but I suggest we all start heading in that direction in case Shredder comes back." Leonardo12 pointed north, where April could barely make out the general shape of the Technodrome if she squinted. "Okay?"
April12 nodded. "Will do." She took her group down a narrow corridor and Leonardo12 continued down the main one.
Leonardo12 turned around and addressed his four comrades - Donatello89, Leo C, and Michelangelo12. "Okay guys, let's go. And Mikey, don't run off ahead of us again. Stay with the group..."
"I wish you'd stop acting like you're the leader, kid," scoffed Leo C.
"Maybe I wouldn't so much if you actually seemed do anything to help!"
Michelangelo12 tuned out as the bickering reached its peak and Donatello89 tried and failed repeatedly to make peace between the two Leonardos. The orange-masked turtle's gaze became caught on one of the mini-worlds. It showed him, surrounded by his brothers - Donatello holding a broken invention, Raphael clutching several ruined comics, and Leonardo looking angry like his patience had been pushed too far. "Grow up!" They all shouted, in a chaotic harmony. "Just grow up!"
Michelangelo12 swallowed. This scene reminded him too much of memories from his past. He turned from it, and caught Leonardo12 staring longingly into a slightly romantic mini-world between him and Karai, while Leo C continued his arguing, even though Leonardo12 was no longer replying. He listed reason after reason why he should be leading.
There was another mini-world showing the 2003 turtles looking much older, sitting with a slightly gray-haired April03 and a wrinkled Casey Jones03 on a couch, watching television. Splinter03 was absent, and Michelangelo12 had an idea why. It turned out the show the group was watching was the thirtieth anniversary special of Splinter03's favorite soap opera, something that Michelangelo03 had told him about.
"This should be called the Rejection Dimension," said Michelangelo12 with sudden inspiration. "Almost nothing in this place goes with the other dimensions."
Donatello89, walking by a mini-world that showed four female mutant turtles - each one's mask a paler shade of the colors the male turtles wore. The girls seemed exactly like the 2012 turtles they stood before, in personality, and were staring googly-eyed at the Ninja Turtles. Donatello89 huffed at the pure ridiculousness of the scene. "Not a better name out there for this place, Mikey."
The transparent, misty version of Leonardo12 in the mini-world did his very best against Shredder12. The fight went on for several minutes, and the turtle only lasted so long because of his renewed, immeasurable hatred and desire for revenge against Shredder12. But he could barely get a hit.
Leonardo12 screamed out as he felt a hard kick to his leg and heard the sickening crunch of bones, but didn't back down from his strength-battle with Shredder12, his katana held against the metal wrist cuff.
"If I die, my brothers will avenge me!" Leonardo12 shouted, seeming to acknowledge the inevitable. He was weak, bruised and broken, and just after he'd spoken, his strong katana snapped clean apart from the pressure, and the sharp spikes of Shredder12's armor came down forcefully on him.
Leonardo12 quickly fell, and Shredder12 laughed, walking away like nothing had happened. "Fool."
"Look at this weirdo place!" exclaimed Raphael12, pointing into another mini-world as he broke into uncontrollable laughter. Inside the world was Leonardo12, writing letters on pink paper to the little girl Raphael12 had seen him having tea with months ago. The scene flitted to Leonardo12, sitting in a small chair in a pink room with an excess of stuffed animals, actually having tea with the girl. At this point, Raphael12's laughter was unstoppable. He absentmindedly followed the rest of his group, still doubled over and guffawing.
"Woah, what's that!" hissed Michelangelo96, backing behind Raphael12. The red-masked turtle, with great effort, managed to stifle his laughter and look up. Michelangelo96 had to put his mouth over Raphael12's mouth to keep the turtle from shouting out in shock immediately.
Barely three-hundred yards ahead of the small group compromised of just Raphael12, Michelangelo96, Leonardo87, and Donatello03, was Shredder12, just coming out of a mini-world. The villian, with noticable blood spread across his armor, was walking stiffly down the corridor with his back to them, and apparently hadn't heard the turtles so close because of the sheer noise of the dimension.
Michelangelo96 swore. Raphael12, panicking slightly, turned to the group. "If you've got a phone, call all your brothers! We need to get them all here!" He pulled out his T-phone, and Donatello03 took out his ShellCell, and Leonardo87 his Turtle Communicator.
Raphael87 got the message from Leonardo87, nodded, and quickly hung up. He waved his hand and his group followed. Raphael87 ran up front next to Leonardo90, with Leonardo07 and Michelangelo07 following behind.
Running at breakneck pace, the group of four got a glimpse of a mini-world to their side. They were shocked to see themselves, like a mirror image but with a ghostly appearance, running at their side like groups in a race. Every expression on the faces of the mini-world turtles was identical to their counterparts and they were gone from view in only a couple seconds as the group passed the world.
"What the heck was that?" gasped Leonardo90.
"Do you think we know?" Donatello07, usually the one supplied with answers, shouted back.
The group put the odd incident out of their minds and instead concentrated on the pounding sounds of all the other groups' footfalls as they headed for the same area, just a short way off the Technodrome visible in the distance. The feeling of impending chaos hightened with each step, and it seemed as if the background of the strange dimension became an even darker gray and a great cry from one mini-world rang throughout all the jumbled babble, like someone grieving the death of someone close.
"Oh no."
As Raphael12 and his group saw the two-turtle group lead by Michelangelo03 approach them, Shredder12 to have finally realized something odd was behind him. In a flash of silver, a fraction of a second, his head turned to see the turtles accumulating at the end of the corridor. The anger that arose within in was visible even as far away as he was. He turned fully to face the turtles and shouted.
"I killed here! And I will not hesitate to kill you!" Without further ado, he charged.
"Scatter!" Leonardo87 commanded. "We can't face him until more of us get here!"
The Technodrome was unattended. The occupants inside were knocked out and Shredder12 had left it - only temporarily - to wander the Fan-fiction dimension. Well, Shredder12 was a little over a mile away, and no one else but the ghostly, unnoticing mini-worlds were around to notice the legion of Kraang come through the portal.
They took it. Easy as that. One moment the Techndrome was in the dimension, the next the Kraang had driven it through a portal.
It was gone. And in even worse hands than it had been in with Shredder12.
I had so much fun writing this chapter, after I got through a strong bout of writer's block. Reviews are welcome!
I had the finish this chapter quick and don't expect another one for a few more days.
A lot of the fan-fiction stories in here I made up. They are references to the type of stories I see often on the fan-fiction website, such as the story that Donatello89 saw, of "
four female mutant turtles - each one's mask a paler shade of the colors the male turtles wore. The girls seemed exactly like the 2012 turtles they stood before, in personality, and were staring googly-eyed at the Ninja Turtles" I've skimmed over many stories with that premise or a similar one.
But I did reference a good deal of actual stories. The 2007 story that Donatello12 and Donatello87 saw - the one about Leo07 leaving - is one I read a very long time ago, when I first joined the site. For the life of me, I can't remember the name or who wrote it, and what I wrote is based on what I remember of it. It was just a one-shot. The brief mention of a story involving the turtles telling spooky stories around a fire is a reference to "Fireflies, Falling Stars, and Forever" by SleepingSeeker, and it is a really good story and I suggest you check it out. The next story mentioned, described as just a view of Leonardo03 texting on his ShellCell is "Texts From my Stranger" by EgyptsBlackRose, another of my favorites. The fan-fiction of Donatello12 kissing April could refer to a wide number of them, but I was thinking of the chapter Mistletoe from the one-shot collection "TMNT Advent Calender". The story where Donatello12 saw the death of April is just referring to a random few stories I've read over the months involving that. The story Donatello87 points out to cheer up Donatello12 is "Beauty and the Beast" by Scotia Daniel (it is a beautiful story). The story Shredder12 enters to attack a lone Leonardo12 is actually my story "Confusion" (I didn't want to have Shredder attacking another person's story - they might not like it). The little turtle-tot story with them watching Godzilla comes from a super cute story "go go godzilla!" from the great writer teawithmilk. The story where all the turtles yell at Michelangelo12 to grow up is referencing a few stories I've read over time involving that. The story that Raphael12 saw of Leonardo12 having tea and writing letters to a girl was the story "My Mr Turtle" by Andrea O'Down, a story that I enjoyed immensely until I fell behind near the twentieth chapter and now the chapters number in the sixties. And the story where
Raphael87, Leonardo90, Leonardo07 and Michelangelo07 saw themselves? I'll leave that up to you to guess.
There are so many more stories I wish I could have referenced. I feel like I didn't get even half my favorites in, but maybe I will next chapter. All credit goes to the amazing writers of these stories; I incorporated references to these stories to show my love for them.
With this chapter, I wanted to show that while not official, fan-fiction is still part of the multi-verse. Because it is so different from other iterations and so expansive, fan-fiction deserved a totally different type of dimension.
