"Sammie?" I heard Seth's voice. I couldn't help but wonder what he was doing. I put a pillow over my face. "Yeah I can't sleep either. I know what you're going to say. I should stay with Holly, but Theresa and I have a connection. Sammie? Sammie? Sammie, Sammie, Sammie, are you asleep?"
"Yes." I replied. "So leave."
"Sorry, I'm gonna let you go to sleep. This must still be a shock to you and all." He replied. "Things aren't easy for you right now."
"What are you talking about?" I asked him as I got out of bed and walked over to the doorway.
"Well at least I get to sleep in my own bed. You're here in the guest room." He explained. "And you can't sleep."
"I can't sleep because you won't shut up." I pointed out.
"And your ex-girlfriend is sleeping in your room at the dismay of your girlfriend." He stated.
"Thank you for reminding me like I didn't know." I snapped. "And Kaitlin's fine with it."
"I'm sure she feels the same as…has Kaitlin dated anyone else?" He asked.
"No, now leave me alone." I told him. "If Kaitlin has a problem with it, we can talk about it. I'm not sending Theresa to your room."
"Why can't you support us?" He inquired.
"Because Theresa is a mess." I explained. "I love her but she's trouble."
"Did you just say that you love her?" He asked.
"Yes, platonically, like family, the same way I love you." I declared.
"Alright, good night, go back to bed." He told me.
"I'm gonna see how Theresa is first." I announced.
"I'll come with you." He volunteered. I sighed.
We went to the pool house to check on her I smacked Seth when he made a housekeeping joke, but we didn't see her.
"Theresa?" I called.
"Sorry, I didn't hear you two come in." She remarked as she came out of the bathroom.
"Let me know if you ever need anything." Seth stated. "My mom's got lots of toiletries."
If that was a come on, I didn't know what to say.
"Thanks, but I'm probably not gonna be here much longer." Theresa replied.
"You're not?" I asked in confusion.
"No, I can't impose on your parents forever." She remarked.
"Sure you can." Seth stated. "I'm going to."
"Thanks but I really need to figure things out." She told us. "I have some family I can call."
"So I guess we'll see you tomorrow then." I said nervously.
"Actually, no, I picked up a morning shift at the bakery." She answered.
"Oh." Seth commented. "Maybe we could talk after school then?"
"Sure." She agreed. "But aren't you and Holly…"
"We'll both see you after school." He corrected.
"I don't wanna get in the middle of this anymore." I remarked. "Good night."
In the morning Seth and I walked into the kitchen to see that Julie and Caleb were there.
"That sounds like a bachelor party." Dad remarked. I couldn't help but wonder what we had just walked in on. "As a matter of fact, I feel a little hurt that I wasn't invited. I do love the Vegas."
"Who's going to Vegas?" I questioned.
"I didn't know you loved the Vegas, Dad." Seth commented.
"Oh, I love the Vegas." Dad repeated. "Sammie, how do you feel about the Vegas?"
"I've never been." I declared. "The closest I ever got was Reno."
"Dad, we should go." Seth urged. "You love Vegas, Sammie and I have never been. It's perfect."
"Sounds like fun for the whole family." Julie commented. I needed to convince her to let me take Kaitlin.
"What about Theresa?" I questioned.
"I can take care of Theresa." Mom offered.
"Can Kaitlin please come?" I asked Julie. "I promise that I'll always keep my eyes on her."
"If anything happens to her, I will kill you." Julie whispered into my ear. "Fine but no gambling, drinking, or illegal activity."
"Do I have any say in this?" Caleb asked.
"No." Julie replied before she kissed him. I didn't need to see that. "Enjoy your bachelor party."
I literally had no idea what to bring to Vegas. I was glad that there was no way that Kaitlin and I could get accidentally married. I would have to decide after school. Once there, I met up with Kaitlin and Marissa.
"I wanna kill him." Marissa replied. "But then I'd go to jail, but at least I wouldn't have to move in with him and my mom, and that way I wouldn't have to tell my dad I'm moving out."
I hadn't yet been able to tell Kaitlin because of her venting.
"We already told him." Kaitlin replied. "He probably would like it if you told him yourself. You know it shows that you trust him."
"What do I tell him, that Caleb's blackmailing me?" Marissa inquired as we walked to her locker. "Then my dad will kill him and I'll have to move in with my mom."
"So what are you telling him?" I asked.
"I don't know but I guess it'll have to be by this weekend." Marissa stated.
"Actually, I think your dad might be going to Vegas this weekend." I said. "That brings me to what I wanted to say. Kaitlin, do you wanna go to Vegas with me? I already asked your mom and she said that you could."
"What about me?" Marissa asked.
"I was hoping that you could help keep Theresa company." I replied.
"Will there be strippers and showgirls?" Kaitlin asked.
"Probably not for us." I remarked.
"I'd love to go to Vegas." Kaitlin replied before giving me a kiss. "I bet my mom wants strippers."
"I really don't get the fascination with strippers." I remarked. "Maybe because I've never had a problem getting girls."
At that point, Anna walked over to us.
"So Seth tells me you're going to Vegas." She stated. "I'm not sure if Summer and I are together, so can I come?"
After school, I found Theresa was home from work.
"How was work? How are you feeling?" I asked.
"Good. I'm actually going back. I picked up another shift." She explained.
"Oh, Kaitlin and Seth and I were hoping we could all hang out." I stated.
"I can't. I have to make money if I'm going to go to Atlanta." She replied.
"Why are you going there?" I questioned.
"My cousin Kim lives there." She told me. I definitely did not remember a Kim. "She said that I could go stay with her as long as I pay my own way. I mean she doesn't have a pool house or anything but that way maybe I can get a second chance too."
"How much do you need?" I asked as she prepared to leave.
"Samantha, I can't take your money." She stated as she turned to look at me. "I don't even…$2000."
"I'll ask my parents." I offered.
"No you won't." She argued. "Listen to me. This is not your problem okay. Go, win, make money. That's what I'm gonna do."
I decided to tell Kaitlin and Seth about it.
"$2000, huh?" Seth replied. "I'd say I got about a thousand in savings bonds and bar mitzvah bucks."
"I have a couple hundred left over from work." Kaitlin added.
"She's not going to accept money from any of us." I pointed out. "It's not enough."
"Put you could take it to Vegas and triple it on the blackjack tables." Seth argued.
"Seth, I'm not old enough to gamble." I stated.
"That's what fake IDs are for." Seth pointed out.
"Wow, you are the good child." Kaitlin told me.
"This is a bad idea." I commented. "There has to be a better legal way to get money. Fuck it, but if we get caught, I'm saying that you forced us."
Vegas looked awesome. The three of us took a red limo to the hotel. We were getting two rooms, one for the guys, and one for Anna, Kaitlin, and I.
"I thought we were going to Caesar's." Caleb stated.
"Yeah about that, Caesar's didn't have a permanent Springsteen exhibit." Seth explained.
"Although, they did have Celine Dion." Jimmy stated.
"Another reason we're staying here." Seth replied.
"Wow this place is amazing." Anna remarked. "It seems like it's a really nice place for me to get over Summer. Too bad I can't go to a club."
It turned out that there was a bowling alley in the guys' room and Seth and I were playing a game.
I then realized it was time to go to the casino. So, Seth, Kaitlin and I prepared to show our IDs.
"It's just a formality. We have a lot kids under 21 trying to sneak onto the casino." The guide explained. "We'd hate to have to throw them out of the hotel."
"Actually, I think I'd rather just stay in the room." I stated before she left. "I told you that this was a bad idea."
"Why don't we go to another casino?" Kaitlin suggested.
"That's a great idea." Seth remarked.
"Why did you have to encourage him?" I asked with a sigh. I then looked at him. "I'm surprised you want her to go."
"Well I want her to be happy most of all." Seth stated.
Before we went to a casino, we got Anna up and headed to the beach. Yes, there was a beach in Vegas.
"There are some many bikini-clad women here, I haven't even thought about Summer." Anna said.
"You mean since you left a message in her voicemail in the hotel, right?" I teased.
"That was 20 minutes ago. I feel liberated and confident." Anna stated. "I could walk up to any of these woman and talk to them."
"Okay, go for it." I instructed. She started walking over before immediately coming back.
"I don't want make a stupid mistake." She stated. "What am I supposed to say?"
"Excuse me?" A girl asked tapping her on the shoulder. "Would you mind if I kissed you?"
Before Anna could even respond, the chick grabbed her and kissed her.
"Sorry, the Hard Rock is kind of exclusive. Can't use the beach unless you're with a guest." The girl explained. "I'm Jen and you are an excellent kisser. Can I buy you a drink to say thanks?"
Anna babbled something before she got a phone call. I couldn't help but wonder if it was Summer. Things got really awkward, especially because Jen kissed her on the phone.
"Summer's gonna kick my ass." Anna remarked.
"Oh I didn't know you had a girlfriend." Jen replied. "I should go. I should really go."
"We should probably go too." I stated. "We have a place to be."
"Where are you headed, I can give you a lift somewhere." She offered.
"You have a car?" Seth asked.
"Yeah, I live here. I go to UNLV." She explained.
"We're just visiting." Kaitlin answered. "Do you know where any good casinos are that aren't right here?"
"Well some guys from my class are doing this poker thing downtown. It's kind of intense though." She explained. I had a bad feeling about that. "Wanna go?"
"We'd love to." Seth declared.
So we got all dressed up and headed to the bar. I wore a tight blue lace dress.
"So this is basically just five card stud, right?" I asked her.
"Yeah, it's 250 buy in." She explained.
"Do you play?" Seth questioned.
"Mostly for fun, well it was fun until I lost that 250." Jen told us. The bouncer let us by and we saw a table of scary-looking guys. "These guys, they don't play for fun."
"Do you know how to play poker?" Seth asked me.
"Yes." I stated before Jen left to get some drinks. "We don't have to do this."
"What about Theresa?" Seth inquired.
"Theresa's not any of our responsibilities." I remarked before sighing.
"I love the Vegas." Seth said as he handed me a wad of money. "Let's see if the Vegas loves me."
I went over to the table.
"This isn't for beginners, Missy." One of the guys told me. I tried to hide my nervousness. I wondered if Theresa was having fun.
I made it through a hand and won with a full house. I decided not to get greedy and just take the money.
"No, I am not going for extra money." I remarked. "No, part of gambling is not getting greedy. I just want to cash out and head back to the hotel. We have what we need and going for more would be dumb."
"Okay, let's go bowling." Seth stated.
"Are you guys staying in the penthouse?" Jen asked. "My girlfriends and I have always wanted to rent that place out."
"You should invite them over." Seth suggested. That sounded like a bad idea."
"Are you serious?" Jen asked.
"Absolutely." Anna remarked.
"This won't end well." I told Kaitlin.
Once we got to the hotel, we saw Jimmy and Kaitlin and I walked over to him while Seth and Anna went upstairs with Jen.
"Marissa still hasn't told me that she wants to move in with Caleb." Jimmy stated. "Why would she lie to me about it?"
I then went out to the lobby. I couldn't help but notice that someone unexpected was there.
"Summer? What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I'm looking for Anna." She replied. It definitely wasn't going to end well. "Take me to your room NOW."
We then ended up going to the room where we found Jen was kissing Anna in a bikini.
"Get away from you whore." Summer told her.
"Hey, she's not a whore. She goes to UNLV." Anna argued. She definitely picked the wrong girl to come to the defense of.
"We tried to stop her." I pointed out.
At that point, the girls showed up.
"Aren't you gonna introduce me?" A guy asked.
"What are you doing here, Lucas?" Jen questioned. I had a really bad feeling about it.
"This many girls, I'm gonna need payment before the party." Lucas stated.
"You've gotta be kidding me." I replied. "No you can't do this. You can't charge us anything if we don't know what we're getting into beforehand."
"Who's going to stop me?" Lucas asked.
"I am." Dad interrupted. "Look if you don't want to go to jail for soliciting to minors, you'll leave now."
"You didn't say that you were minors." Jen pointed out.
"Well now we're even." I pointed out. That went better than I thought it would. It did lead to a long argument between Summer and Anna. I then looked at my dad. "Can we please agree that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?"
The next morning, I went to see how Marissa was.
"I can't believe that you and Kaitlin told my dad." She remarked angrily.
"You could have told him yourself." I argued.
"So you'll tell my dad the truth but you won't tell me that Seth slept with Theresa?" She asked. "Now she's pregnant and it might not be Eddie's."
Okay, that was a much bigger problem than what happened in Vegas. How was I going to tell Seth about it?
So Seth is potentially a father and they handled things a different way. Sammie still has the money, but she doesn't know what to do with it. I also have some insight for Season 2. Lindsay definitely won't be in it, but Alex will. Please don't forget to review.
