He Lives in Flint.

*Goldenrod Radio Tower*

After obtaining a strange rainbow colored wing from the Radio Director, I realized I had yet to call Lyra. I decided I would do that before I headed upstairs to confront Archer.

"You got a what?" She asked in disbelief.

"A Steelix and a Rainbow Wing…" I said. "Why?"

"Hank! The Rainbow Wing is sacred! It's said that Ho-oh dropped it down to earth when he flew away from Tin Tower!"

"For the love of Arceus, who is Ho-oh?!" I asked but my phone buzzed out and instead of Lyra, I realized that Team Rocket had taken control of the phone waves too. That was the final straw.

"You ready Flint? You ready Talon? You ready Powerball?" I asked the three pokemon I planned to use.

They all saluted.

"How about you Lucius?" I asked my new Steelix who was wearing the EXP Share.

"I…I'm not sure we should be doing this guys…" He said. (He had a Timid Nature, the irony of it all)/ "I mean…they kill things."

"We'd all be dead already if it weren't for Hank." Talon said. " Now come on. We have a job to do."

The first guard I noticed was Proton, who had clearly fallen asleep on the job. I stuck Powerball with him to make sure he stayed that way.

Then we were face to face with Ariana.

"You again!" I said. "You look so much like-"

"Like Silver, yes." She said. "Children tend to look like their parents. If only that fool of a father of his would come back. That young child is not yet ready to lead Team Rocket, and it's exhausting work putting up with the other three bozos who share my status…oh, I'm sorry, make that two bozos. You managed to kill Petrel."

"I did not do that!" I said.

"Spare me your lies!" She said as she sent out a Vileplume and a Murkrow. I put Talon and Lucius on them. As Lucius used Iron Tail, he accidentally hit Ariana as well, causing her to lose consciousness as she hit the floor.

"I…I didn't mean for…"

"It's perfectly okay Lucius." I said. "She'll come to."

"Come on Hank." Flint said as Lucius and Talon battled Ariana's pokemon. "Let's finish these guys off."

*Observatory deck*

"Ah…." Archer said as he stared at me through the reflections on the observatory windows. "Hank, you've grown. And so has that Cyndaquil cub. Well done."

"Well done?" Flint asked.

"What do mean?" I asked Archer. "What do you know about Flint?"

"I know that he is quite the treasure. It's not often that a sole is tied directly to Ho-oh."

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"Haven't you wondered why your Quilava has no family in Johto? The very region they call home? It's because they don't actually exist."

"What?!" Flint was taken aback.

"Your precious Quilava is a spawn. A mere vessel for Ho-oh's fire."

Trembling, to see if it was true, I lifted the Rainbow Wing and walked toward Flint. And then, all of a sudden, the three legendary beasts were in the room. The wing was glowing, and Flint began to glow too.

"I don't like this…" He said.

"Night…." The beasts sang as the wing freed itself from my grasp to complete the ritual itself. "And the spirit of life calling… And a voice…with the fear of a child answers…"

"Wait!" I said as Flint was lifted up.

"There's no mountain to great." The beasts chanted and sang. "Here words and have faith. Ohohoh. Have faith."

"What the hell did you do?" Archer asked.

"I don't know!" I said as we backed to opposite ends of the room.

"He lives in you!" The beasts sang as a fire erupted from the glowing Flint that looked like some sort of Pheonix. Perhaps a beacon of some sort. "He lives in me! He watches over…Everything we see!"

"Into the water!" Raikou sang.

"Into the truth!" Entei continued.

"In your reflection." Suicune sang. I looked and through the reflections on the glass I could clearly make out Ho-oh's shape. It took my breath away. If this was only the outline of the pokemon that sought to help me, I wondered what it would look like in person…

"He lives in you." The beasts quieted down. And then suddenly, the Ho-oh Fire exploded all over the area and the Radio Tower came crashing down. The beasts sang more loudly as the rounded any living thing up besides the Team Rocket grunts and leaders.

"He lives in you! He lives in me! He watches over, everything we see! Into the water! Into the truth! In your reflection!" The beasts gently set the glowing mass on the ground near myself, Powerball, Talon, and Lucius.

"He lives in you." The beasts finished, and one by one they rode off.

"Flint!" I shouted "Can you hear me?"

"Hank." I heard his voice say as the light cleared to show that Flint was now standing on his hind legs. Having evolved into a Typhlosion. "I can hear you loud and clear!" He smiled.
