Chapter 4: Excursion discussion

Seika High, Headmaster's Office…

Misaki's POV

Tora was stunned by fear, like he was a rabbit and Zero was the wolf. I must say I am a bit scared of him too. I wonder how he and Usui could have been friends. Maybe he threatened him to become his friend or something.

I look at Tora, who is shivering and sweating now. Maybe Zero-kun has a reason to be that angry. Somehow it seems like Tora was trying to stir something up but Zero-kun caught him. Wait! It couldn't be that something happened to ...!

"Usui is in England...? Right, Tora?" I ask him hoping I'm just worrying too much.
But Tora said nothing, like he didn't hear what I asked. I looked at Zero-kun on the laptop screen and he looked at me. He went to a more relaxed composure and had a relieved expression on his face but his eyes had something mischievous in them. It was a look Tora usually had on his face, but now Tora looked like Yukimura. Oh that's mean of me , no, not like Yukimura but more like a coward like Kanou-kun. No... why is my mind insulting people?!

"So he went to deal with some 'family business'..."Zero said after a moment of silence.
"Y-yes! Yes he did!" Tora replied quickly and nodded eagerly with sparkling eyes like he was just offered a billion yen.

Zero-kun narrowed his eyes and the mischievousness came out of them. "But that doesn't explain why you got so scared when I asked. Misaki-nee had to answer for you. You act suspicious Tora... Is there a reason why you want to go to Sorajima so badly?"

Then headmaster of Miyabigaoka stood up and everyone looked at him.
"Tora-kun," he said, "if you have your personal reasons to go there, then don't plan a whole excursion. You are disappointing people."
"No! It's not like that!" Tora said, he looked a bit angry.
"It has something convenient for everyone. You see, all the students will have more cultural insight since Sorajima is quite different from Japan. It will be enjoying too since we're going in the festival season. I thought it would be a good distraction for the students before we'll have our exam periods. We will put up an educative program"

Tora looked at Zero. "Although it does have something personal too... Zero, I am sorry for what I did to you in the past. I want to meet in person and apologize to you."

I wonder what happened between them that Mr. IGARASHI TORA wants to apologize. It quite surprises me that he actually thinks about other people, even Zero-kun seems to think that.
"Oh so your heart grew bigger with the years after all."
"It seems," Tora said back with a little smile which soon faded away, 'but somehow, I get the feeling your heart did exactly the opposite of what mine did..."
"Might be," Zero said shrugging his shoulders, "but I think we'll have enough time to talk in 'Jima'. Tell me, what do we need?"

Tora looked at Shouichirou Yukimura, the vice-president of Seika high. "Yukimura-kun has the list, will you please read it out loud?
"Ah, y-yes. We need busses, hotels, guides..."

Cross academy, classroom...

General POV

"... And the food..." Zero repeated after Yukimura while writing it thing down.
"So what are you going to do now Zero-rin~?" The chairman asked Zero. Zero placed a full stop and nonchalantly swung his arm up, hitting the chairman in his face, while he gave a kind smile to Yukimura like nothing happened.

"D-D-D-D-D DEATH NOTE!"
It was Kaito who stood by the door and pointed at the situation. Yagari-sensei chuckled but nobody else understood what Kaito had meant.
"Ow ow ow!" The chairman said as he winced in pain. "What is Death Note? A murdering technique?"
"Haha, no Cross-san, it's an anime Zero and Kaito used to watch." Yagari said.

"I-I there anything else we need to talk about now?" The headmaster of Seika High asked a bit shocked by Zero's behaviour to the chairman.
"Hmmm, well not really. I'm gonna call some people and I'll contact you again when everything is done."
"Alright," Tora said, "your chairman has our phone numbers, so call us when you need to."
"Ok, I'll do that. Take care everyone. Bye.'' Zero said and turned of the laptop.

"So what are you going to do now?" The chairman asked Zero.
"I'm going to plan the excursion and then discuss it again with the others, I think." Zero said and took his cellphone out of his pocket.
"But you can't Zero, you are a student here, not someone who, well, is allowed to do that." Yagari interrupted.
"It's alright, it's alright~" the chairman said, 'besides, Zero is our substitiute teacher and whether he attends class or not it won't affect his perfect grades." He added with a wink.

"Hey, but where will he work?' Kaito asked, 'I mean he can't do this in class right?"
"Yeah, that is true indeed. But if we move some things away I think there is plenty of place in the storage room for a desk and a commupter~."
"Uhh, it's a computer... chairman." Kaito said stifled his laughter. 'Old people really don't know anything about electronics."

After Zero got his 'office', the students were getting more curious about Sorajima with the days. Zero was not seen around sleeping around the school anymore. In fact, after chapter 5, they did not see him at all...
