AN: Hey guys! another update already! I wont have many this week because of school work and all. I' used my phone to write this chapter, so don't hate me for any mistakes I have made. As some of you know, I have a contest going on. The first five reviewers on my story can pick one of the prizes listed on my profile bio. The first place spot has been taken already, but maybe you're the next winner!
Blaise Zabini drew in a sharp breath breath the moment the Weasley girl came over to their table. Truth be told, he had been crushing on her since his fourth year. He would never admit that, though- to like a blood-traitor would be social suicide in Slytherin house. He had a few other secrets, too- the fact that he had a squib little sister, for instance, or that he had sneaked out to Mcgonnagal's office every night to watch recordings of WWE ( Mcgonnagal knew about this, and allowed it because Zabini was taking an interest in muggle activities). But he kept these things to himself, because none fit with the Slytherin Pureblood status quo.
At any rate, he was quite blatantly staring at Ginny Weasley while she yelled at Draco. In the name of all that was holy, she was hot when she was mad. Flaming hot, like her hair...Ugh...Of course, Draco had just slammed her against the wall, and was quietly hissing at her over something. Blaise had been so distracted that he didn't have a clue what they were talking about. Quite honestly, he didn't care. He was too busy imagining getting under that skirt to worry about it. The things he'd do to that girl he could only imagine. Mostly because she belonged to Potter already, really. But if only...
Ginny couldn't help but notice the seventh year Slytherin boy staring at her. Blaise Zabini had liked her since his fourth year, and she kinda felt something for him. But, she was Harry's now, and she couldn't imagine that changing anytime soon. Still, she could still play with what she had currently available. Luckily, she had just what she needed. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled a a Dum-Dum. After unwrapping it, she looked up to see if he was watching her. He was, so she began. Her tongue flitted over the top of the sucker, back and forth, back and forth. Blaise's eyes widened, and Ginny had to hold back a smirk while she continued. She began circling the sucker with her tounge, making sure it enveloped each side when she went around. Blaise's eyes were hungry as he watched he finally take the sucker into her mouth. Ginny had to withhold a giggle. Oh, this was going to be fun.
Back with Draco and Hermione, things weren't going too well. Not for Draco, anyway. He had realized too late that blackmail wasn't helping his case at all. It was only making the situation worse. But he didn't know what else to do! He never had to bait in any of the Ravenclaws, who were attracted by his intelligence, or the Slytherins, who thought his hatred of the Golden trio was something to marvel at, or even the Hufflepuffs, who, though very loyal, were very foolish. He had never had trouble with a girl before, and this was so much different than any other situation he had been in. Draco was used to getting what he wanted, and he wasn't getting it. It was so frustrating!
Now, in the Great Hall a few days after their moment in the library, he was out of ideas. And there was no one to ask for help. Neither Crabbe, nor Goyle, nor Blaise were good with women. And when he asked Pansy Parkinson- without mentioning who, he wasn't stupid- she just laughed and walked off. Everyone in his house thought it was so funny. The great Draco Malfoy getting stumped by a girl! Then there were all the hopeless girls who believed she was the one he was in love with. He would constantly be bombarded by these women, and he would in turn tell each one they were hormonal and desperate, and then walk away, thinking of what to do about the Gryfinndor Princess.
When he came to potions class after breakfast that day and failed miserably on the potion they were making, Professor Snape- who had somehow survived the Second Wizard War- asked him to stay after class. Draco noticed Hermione run up to him at the end to ask a question, and tried to take the chance to get out. Unfortunately, he fell to his knees covering his ears. The ringing noise... Snape, that bastard! He had cast some sort of curse to stop him...
"Mister Malfoy. Come here. Now." The greasy haired man commanded. As Hermione and Draco passed each other, she smirked and giggled at his defeated look. She ran out the door before anything could be said. Draco turned to look at her as she left, longing in his eyes. She was beautiful, even if she did hate him with a passion. He stared at the door, his imagination wandering off into thoughts of the future he could have with her. A son, maybe a daughter, both who would go to Hogwarts. A blonde, frizzy haired girl with deep brown eyes and a boy with short brown hair, but with silver gray eyes like himself. And they would be the top of their class with parents like Hermione and himself to teach them along the way-
Suddenly the ringing noise in his ears returned. His hands grabbed at his sides and he once again fell to the ground. Tears were streaming down his face when the noise finally ceased. "Get up, Draco." Snape ordered, then turned and went to his desk. When Draco walked up to his desk, Snape was looking at the wall, reading through some papers he had hung there.
"Is there a reason you needed to see me?" Draco asked. Snape sighed and turned around, sitting down.
"Sit, Draco." Snape gestured to a chair at the side of his desk. And, because he did not want to become deaf from another ringing problem, Draco obeyed. "What's bothering you? You're quite a bit... off."
"I don't know what you mean, sir." Draco lied. Snape rolled his eyes in disbelief. "I'm the same as I've always been."
"Draco, who's one of the best students at Hogwarts?" Snape asked impatiently.
"Well, I am, but-"
"Who is my best Potions student?" He continued, cutting Draco off.
"I am, sir, but I don't see-" Draco protested, but Snape ignored it.
"And you completely ruined your potion today. Why would that be?" Snape looked at Draco, whose head was hung in shame. "Look at me and answer, Draco." Stupid professor... Why couldn't he just stay out of it?! Draco looked up, his face slightly pink with embarrasment.
"I-ah- it's just that...I'm having a bit of girl trouble at the moment..." Draco muttered. Seeing the professor's eyebrows shoot up, he looked down again in shame.
"Ah. I wondered why you were staring at the door after Miss Granger left." Snape smirked as Draco turned red as a cherry. "You know, I used to love a girl just like her." Yeah right, Draco thought, you only say that to make me feel better.
"She hates me, Professor. But I don't know what I can do. I've tried everything possible-" Draco began, thinking Snape would be more help than anyone else so far. But Snape, as he had done so many times before, cut him off.
"You've done everything possible while being able to keep your pride and stay the same old Slytherin asshole you've always been to her." The greasy haired man stated bluntly. It took Draco a minute to process that. "Quit being a stubborn dumbass, you idiot... Don't give up until you've drawn your last breath. You must always focus on her. Anything less than that will not do."
"Always?" Draco asked tentatively. That would be quite the challenge, but anything would be done for Hermione.
"Always." Severus breathed in. "It doesn't matter that she's a mudblood-"
"SHE'S NOT A MUDBLOOD!" Draco screamed. "Don't ever refer to blood lineage like it matters, because it doesn't! She's a better person than you or I could ever be! She's the most brilliant witch of our time, maybe of any time, and that-" Draco stopped, tears beginning to form again. Snape smirked in triumph.
Damn Potions master.
"You're not ready just yet. But, still..." Severus chuckled. "You've got the potential in you."
Draco had a sinking suspicion he's be spending a lot of time with Professor Snape from now on. "Potential for what?"
Snape smile- Draco had never seen the man truly smile before. "I'm going to teach you how to get Hermione, Draco. You better be ready to fight for her, because that might as well be where you're heading."
Draco gulped in a breath of air, now worried, but still prepared to do what he needed to. "Alright, what do I need to do, then?"
Snape chuckled. "The first step is the most crucial, but it's also the most painful." Snape sighed, knowing the task would not be easy. "To keep you from making the same mistakes I did, we have to get rid of that damn pureblood pride of yours."
A/N: Alright! Finally an update! Can't believe it took so long to work on this... Did you enjoy it? I know I enjoyed writing it! Now, it's Snape's job to turn Draco into the perfect guy for Hermione. Be prepared to see him go through hell for her, cause he's got it coming to him!
