It's almost Christmas so I decided to update the story. Hope you enjoy.

Starship Warriors

I turned left and right, looking for a way out of the catacombs but to no avail. Behind me I could hear the echoing steps of the gigantic horde of bugs that were after me. Even with my radar, it was still difficult to navigate through the tight tunnel so I occasionally hit or trip on some rocks. The sound of armor hitting rock made a loud thunk noise giving away my position. Not that they were having trouble looking for me. I didn't know how long I have been running, but I did know that I was getting nowhere fast. If I didn't lose those bugs any time soon then all that will be left of me is bits of scrap metal, fur and some internal organs.

I followed a long tunnel which I hoped would lead me to freedom. Although my radar can helpe me guide through the tunnels. It wasn't enough to see far enough to lead me out of the underground caves. I tried to locate for a beacon near my location (Since the M.W. deploys beacons to help with troop movement.), but strangely enough there was none.

As I continued to run, I noticed on my radar a small crack on the tunnel. I looked towards it and saw a small hole that I could squeeze through. I looked behind me and could hear the horde getting closer, so I quickly went in it and hoped for the best.

Good thing my luck held out during that time for the bugs went pass my location and strait through the tunnel. They didn't even notice me in there and continued on their chase that would lead them nowhere.

I noticed that the small crack led somewhere and, since there was no other place to go because the tunnel I just got out of will either lead to the bugs or to a dead end, followed it.

Crawling through it what hard, but thanks to my training I was used to it, but I soon could see the other end on the radar. The radar showed an open room in the end and that sight almost made me turn back. If that room ended up to be filled with bugs, I would be a dead cat. But I carried on and was soon out of the small tunnel.

I hoped out of the crack and deployed my plasma gun, ready to tear through any bug that got in my way. I used my suit's scanners to check the cavern for any movement, but I got nothing. I then gave a sigh of relief and started to relax.

But during that point I forgot one of the most important thing to do when in hostile territory and that is to never let your guard down.

As I looked around, trying to see a path out of there, I heard a loud hissing sound behind me before being followed by a red ray of light passing only a couple of feet away from me. The light hit a nearby rock and burnt a portion of it, leaving behind a small puff of smoke.

This alerted me that I wasn't alone and I immediately turned around to see where it came from, but I already had an idea what it was. What lay in front of me was what I expected. One of the bugs was only ten feet away from and ready to fire once more. I aimed my suits targeting system as fast as I can, but knew that the bug was ready to fire. So I closed my eyes and waited for the invertible, but nothing happened. Instead of the burning sensation of the laser piercing through my armor and burning my skin, I heard the sound of plasma guns being fired before a loud thud.

I slowly opened my eyes to see what had happened and saw the bug lying on the ground, dead. I started wondering how this could have happened. My plasma gun wasn't ready to fire, so where did the fire come from.

My questions were answered by the sound of mechanical feet and the sight of two cats wearing their armor. I looked at them with a smile on my face before I seeing the patch on their suits. It was the patch of Owlstar's Viking, my unit. So I started walking towards them with an even bigger smile on me.

"Thanks for saving me back there." I said as I stood in front of them.

They remained silent and still for a moment before one of them said:

"F…Foxclaw? Is that you?

I instantly recognized the voice a slightly jump in joy before exclaiming:

"Goldfur! I knew you mice would leave me."

"It is him…" Goldfur said in joy. "…Skycloud it is him."

"Glad you found us." Skycloud said as he patted me on the shoulder with a paw as he stood with only three paws. "I almost thought that I would have to deal with a new recruit when I learned you fell on a tunnel."

I gave a small chuckle at his remark before focusing back to the situation. "Alright tell the other that you got me and let's get back up."

"Yeah…" Goldfur said. "…that is going to be a little harder than you think."

"What do you mean?" I asked with a confused look on his face. Not that he could have seen it through my helmet.

"Well you see we are kind of stuck here too."

"Stuck here?" I exclaimed really surprised. "How can the rescue party be stuck?"

"Well it goes like this." Skycloud said trying to explain the situation. "Once we all got to the ground, the Lieutenant ordered a search party to try a look for you. So he informed H.Q., but was shocked to get no reply. What made it worse was we couldn't find the command company was missing. In fact the entire strike force was missing. We tried to contact every company to no avail. Next thing I knew was something was pulling me from below and I ended up in the tunnels. So I fought my captor and blew up some bugs and found Goldfur. Together we worked our way through the place before finding you here.

I frowned and almost lost all hope in getting out of here after he explained it all to me. But I knew that giving up was not the way of the M.W. and so I kept strong and confident.

"So what do we do now?" I asked.

"We're going to find a way out of here is what we're going to do." Goldfur said as he walked toward a tunnel that led out of the gigantic cavern. "Here, it looks safe enough. We'll work our way from there and find as many warriors as we can and get out." He then entered the tunnel and started following it with Skycloud close behind.

I only gave him a nod and followed hoping he knew what he was doing.
