-Tasha

I couldn't feel anything let alone comprehend what I could be feeling. I was lost in the darkness,

pounding on my chest to escape…wait…no that's-that's not right, I can't pound on my chest while

I'm unconscious…oh god I've gone mad! Suddenly my fingers are resting on something sharp and

rough, and then I start to feel my body instead of that choking dark. I feel the groan that rises out of

me and the heat of what I can only assume is the sun on my neck. My eyes flutter open and I can

see specks of light, ah right I'm lying on my front. With an unusual strength I force myself up on my

arms and roll over, the gravel digging into my back now. Breathing in the air I realise something is

amiss. When I was being chased it was night time and cold...and I bolt up onto my feet so suddenly I

stumble in a haze of dizziness. I was being chased! I look around sharply, but there is no sign of the

thing, the demon. But now I'm more aware of what's happening and my hands dart to the large

blood stain on my shirt, blood is still trickling down though it looks like…no that cant be…its healing!

Frickin healing! Another wave of dizziness passes over me and as my eyes close and I fall down to

the ground again, I see the blurred outline of a black car slowing to a stop.

"Sammy can you just leave it alone" Dean groans, hands tightening on the wheel of the Impala.

"Oh right yeah sure Dean I'll calm down! You have a year to live and you're asking me to calm

down!" His brother yells, pulling at his growing hair in frustration.

"Well I didn't say calm down but-"

"Oh forget it! You don't even care!" Sam snaps, tired of Deans smirking and maintained attitude that

going to hell sounds like a vacation. Dean quickly hides the sad smile that passes over his features, he has being doing it for so long that its natural.

"Sammy-"

"I said " Sam grinds out, resting his forehead against the cool car window. The Impala is filled

with uncomfortable silence until Dean points out the front to a glowing neon sign.

"Motel isn't too far now, we can go rest and figure out where to go next, all those demons that

escaped from the gate need to be put down."

"Hmm" Sam mumbles. Dean sighs and decides talking right now probably isn't the best idea but

damn he hates silence so grabs a tape and slides it into the player, the comforting tune of AC/DC's

Highway to Hell blaring out into the dawn.

Hours later the tape has ran through several times and despite Sams protest Dean plays it over and over, unable to get the song out of his head.

As they cruised along a road somewhere in South Dakota pretty far out from much civilisation,

through the heat haze Sam sees a flash of red on the road up ahead.

Instantly he sits up alert eyes scanning the area.

"Dean, did you see that?"

"Yep, what do you think it was?"

"I don't know, not lightning, it feels weird, something we deal with weird."

"Okay then lets-" Suddenly there is another flash of red, much brighter this time and further ahead.

"Okay something is definitely unnatural about that" Dean mumbles. He puts his foot down on the gas and they speed towards it, Sam loading his shotgun which he pulls from the backseat.

"Where did you get that?" Asks Dean, having not seen that in their arsenal before.

"Bobby gave it to me- whoa Dean slow down!" Sam shouts, Dean brakes sharply in response, the

tires squealing in protest and they stop in-front of a figure standing in the middle of the road.

"Think we've had our fair share of car crashes Sammy, don't yell at me like that when I'm driving!"

Sam just rolls his eyes and both of them rise out of the Impala and walk towards the figure, guns

drawn. However they lower them as soon as they see it's a woman swaying on her feet. Her bright

purple hair is messy and dusty from the gravel, her skin deathly pale and her hands cover a wound,

though blood seeps through her fingers and stains the pavement rocks below. With no warning she

looks up at the car and falls to the ground. They both rush to her side and Sam yells at Dean to grab

some bandage from the boot. "Hey hey can you hear me?" Sam asks her, but she is out cold, her

pulse slow and wavering. Quickly taking the gauze Dean hands him he takes a wad and lifting her

slightly wraps it round the wound. "Dean she needs to go to the hospital, she has a very deep stab

wound" Sam shouts lifting up the woman carefully and sitting in the backseat with her on his lap so

he can hold the bandage in place. Dean starts up the Impala and turns around kicking up dust as they

go, "We have to go to Bobby's, its closer and any hospitals here are far too long a distance for the

girl to survive."

"Just hurry!"

Luckily they hadn't left for Bobby's too long ago and with Dean driving at speeds that would earn

him a very long prison sentence they made it quickly to Bobby's yard in Sioux Falls. Unfortunately

for Deans baby the flow of blood from the wound was difficult to stop so bloody rags layered the

backseat. Sam leapt out of the car with the woman in his arms, Dean holding the door open for

them. Bobby jumped as they barrelled in but pointed to the sofa and grabbed his medical kit seeing the bleeding woman.

As he got to work Dean went outside and cursed as he cleaned the blood off the Impalas leather seats and Sam changed into a clean red and brown plaid shirt with dark denim jeans.

"How is she?" he asked Bobby from the kitchen.

"She lost a lot of blood" he sighed wiping his brow, "But she'll live."

"Good good" Sam replied clearly relieved.

"Where you find her?"

"Just on the road" he replied leaning against the counter top, "There was this red light and we got to

it because it looked unnatural and she was there dying on her feet, then she collapsed."

"She didn't say nothing to you boys before she collapsed?"

"No, she seemed confused and scared."

"Good thing you found her or she would be dead by now" Bobby said patting him on the shoulder and beckoning him to follow as he sat down in the living room.

"Sorry to spring this-"

"Hey now don't apologise, you've both got a lot on your plate…speaking of hows Dean holding up?"

Sam grimaced and sunk into the soft leather, "He seems fine, if anything more like he was when he

first came and got me, same attitude, same stubborn persistence."

"He's just dealin' with it in a different way Sam, its hard for him, the idea of leavin' you is scary as hell."

"Why wont he talk to me about it then!?"

"He can't, just…give him time, he needs time to process it, hell if I had a year to live I'd be screwed

up too." Sam nodded and looked at the woman tossing and turning on the sofa, "I hope a Demon

didn't do this to her, too many people die because of them."

"Me too Sam, but we both know its going to get worse out there."

"Yeah" he sighed, "God she must be what 22?"

"Looks about right, though the blood and pain of her wounds make her look older than she probably is mind you."

"Guess we will have to wait until she wake wakes up."
