Now that she wasn't bleeding to death Luna could appreciate the true beauty of the Impala. Its black leather seats and how they squeak slightly as you sit down, the perfect paint job and shine of the black in the sunlight, the smell of leather and cologne, the small green army figure stuck in the side pocket of one of the doors, oh that figurine. Sam noticed her smiling as the Impala cruised along the road and was glad she wasn't so solemn, seeing as she had been very quiet since dinner.
"Great car you have here Dean" she smiled warmly hoping to get back in his good graces.
"Thanks, she's a-"
"'67 Chevrolet Impala."
"…Yeah. You like cars?" he asked curiously.
"Oh no-well yes but I prefer bikes."
"Motor Bikes?"
"Yep" she smiled putting emphasis on the p. "It's really annoying because my baby is at home in the garage."
"What's your favourite bike?" Sam asked, joining in so that her mind didn't wander and she got upset again.
"I've always loved Harleys since I was little, I own a Heritage Softail Classic, I wish I had her with me" she sighed.
"Maybe you can find one here" Sam encouraged. Sam could see Dean scowling next to him but he ignored it and looked back at Luna lounging in the back seat.
"Maybe…" she trailed off looking out the window to fading sun.
"You don't need that on honey" Dean said looking at her in the mirror, "I'm a good driver, very safe."
Luna looked to see if they had their seatbelts on but they didn't.
"Better safe than sorry" she chuckled.
"Think it's a bit late for that" he replied. Dean instantly regretted his words as he saw Luna's jaw clench and tears spring to her eyes, brightening their natural green colour. He looked over to Sam for help but Sam pierced him with a deadly glare and turned to Luna taking her hand.
"Ignore him, his filter can lose its integrity once in a while." Luna looked up at Sam gratefully and squeezed his hand in way of thanks.
"Are we going to stop for the night? Or just carry on?"
"Stop for the night, it's pretty far from South Dakota to California" Dean replied trying to push a nice tone into his voice.
"How far?" she asks looking at Sam.
"About a day and a half's drive" he smiled.
"Oh that's far…in England you can drive half way across the country in four hours" she chuckled.
"So what is your life like there?" Dean interjects.
"Oh pretty good" she smiles sadly, "I go to the University of Southampton, I study Marine Biology. I live with my friend Aiyla…well I guess not anymore."
"I'm sorry" Sam repeated.
"Don't be, it has nothing to do with you." Sam avoided Deans gaze, knowing that there was every chance it could have something to do with them.
"So you like your classes?" Dean asked.
"Oh yeah I love them! Though revision for my exams is pretty stressful."
"I've always wondered how much it costs to go to uni in England."
"It's hell of a lot, about £9,000 a year."
"What!?" Dean cried from the front seat, "That's so much!"
"Not as much as here though" Sam replied, "It cost a lot more for me to go to Stanford."
"But you had a scholarship so you didn't have to pay that amount."
"How do you-"
"And I don't have to either, my adoptive parents have a lot of money, they pay for all of it."
"Oh…when did they adopt you?"
"After my mum died, they asked my brother to take me in but…well let's just say that he doesn't like me too much."
"I can't imagine why" Sam said causing a blush to creep up Luna's face.
"Long story short is he blames me for his father leaving, my step-father."
"Oh so you have another dad."
"Yeah, but I've never met him, mum raised me alone for a couple of years after I was born and never mentioned him. Whenever I asked she told me I didn't want to know."
"But you do want to know?"
"Of course, I need someone in my life. Aiyla was my best friend and now…" she hastily looked away pretending to focus on the houses they passed. "Anyway let's hope my brother is more charitable than in previous years."
"I'm sure he'll see how bad the situation is and help."
"Yeah…I hope so" she smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. A comfortable silence fell and Luna slowly became aware of Sam's hand still grasping hers, his thumb making soothing circles on the back of her hand. She looked up and noticed Sam was looking forward again, seemingly unaware that he was still holding her hand. Luna leaned back and let him continue to soothe her, slowly lulling into a deep sleep.

Luna opened her eyes slowly, the feeling of being watched thrumming into her skull like a drum beating an eternal rhythm. She looked around her confused, the darkness permeating through her vision like unwanted fog. It suddenly cleared and Luna found herself sat on a wooden swing in a large empty field of dead grass. The sun was high in the sky yet it seemed to give out an eerie red light, just like the one she saw when she was stabbed. She looked down, feeling slightly weightless, and saw she was not in Sam's shirt and the shorts, she was instead clothed in a flowing white dress. It was beautiful, the bottom fanning out into many loose pleats with embroidered black and red roses placed so it looked as if they were tumbling down her body. Strangely she couldn't feel any atmosphere, no wind or rain, no warmth of the sun and no hint of air. It set her heart beating very fast, so fast it was a wonder that no-one else could hear it.
"Do you like it?" a voice said from behind her. Luna stood up and spun around sharply to find a tall man dressed in a crisp white suit. His features were unknown to her and his smile had an emptiness about it that deeply disturbed her.
"The dress?" she managed to choke out.
"Yes, the dress."
"Uh…yes it is beautiful but-"
"You're wondering who I am" he stated, that grimace returning to his tanned face.
"Yes and where am I? I wasn't here a moment ago."
"No you were not."
"So...?"
"Oh yes pardon me dear, I am know by many different names, some very suiting and some rather unpleasant."
"Like what?" Luna asked, her voice smaller than before. Fear was spreading through her and unusually he could sense it.
"Don't be afraid, I can't hurt you, nor would I want to."
"Why? Just tell me your name!" she shouted immediately clapping her hands over her mouth. This didn't seem to upset the man or bother him in any way, instead he produced a rose from his pocket and clipped it into place on the pocket of his jacket.
"My name is Lucifer, though in your realm I am know as Satan, the Devil, the all mighty feared one" he chuckled loudly.
"But…that's not possible" Luna gasped.
"Oh but it is I'm afraid, and your friends Sam and Dean, especially Sam, are quite entwined with my future."
"Oh no…I know what you do!" Luna shouted her fear turning into something much scarier to her. Anger. "Just leave them alone! They didn't do anything to deserve the life they lead."
"Oh well sins of the father."
"No, I w-won't let you do this!" she cried taking a step towards him. Lucifer merely raised an eyebrow at her outburst,
"What can you, a mere mortal, do to stop me." Luna faltered at his words realising that he was very much telling the truth. She had no weapons and no way of winning. But something magical happened and she lifted her hand to find a large sharp sword, the tip gleaming in the red.
"It has nothing to do with them, if I'm honest" he smirked. "It has everything to do with my brother Michael but you know this."
"Yes I know everything!"
"Oh really? Did you know that-"
"Enough talking!" She screamed, "I won't let you take another breath" she hissed and with that launched herself at Lucifer, her sword sinking into the supple flesh of his stomach.
"Oh that really hurt my feelings" he laughed sarcastically. Luna pulled the blade away, blood pouring out of the large wound and she yelled in triumph.
"Suck on that assbutt! Bet you-"but her words were cut short as he plunged his hand into her chest eliciting a scream from her.
"Haven't you mortals learnt anything! ' ." With a vicious tug his yanked out her heart and Luna fell to her knees, a trickle of blood dripping down her lips.
"You're wrong" she stuttered before her eyes closed and the darkness engulfed her.
"Luna…Luna…Luna!" Sam cried, Luna's screams echoing in the Impala. "Luna!" he shouted, shaking her roughly to wake her. Suddenly the screams were replaced with gasps as Luna's eyes flew open and she shot forward into Sam who was in the seat next to her, burying her head into his chest.
"Sssh it's okay, I'm here it's alright" he cooed, rubbing circles on her back with his hand.
"Holy shit what was that!" Dean cried from the front seat.
"Nightmare" she stuttered in reply, her eyes dry but her body was shaking with the residual fear from the encounter. Slowly she looked up and saw they had stopped on the side of a road in an urban area. "Are we there?" she asked timidly.
"No, we are nearly at the motel…you sure you're allright?" Sam asked helping her back into her seat.
"Yeah…yeah it was just a nightmare…I didn't really die."
"What was it about?" Dean asked turning to her.
"I don't want to talk about it, sorry" she sighed rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"Go ahead and drive Dean" Sam said shutting the door, "I'll stay in the back with Luna."
Dean nodded and started the Impala re-joining the road and following the sign to the Motel Capri. Sam lifted up his left arm and Luna hastily curled up into his side, her head resting on his lap. As they pulled into the motel parking Sam stopped stroking her hair and helped her out of the Impala.
"One room three single beds please" Dean asked handing a credit card to the person at the desk.
"We only do double bed rooms" the clerk replied, Luna thought he would fall asleep at any moment by the look of him.
"Fine that will have to do" Dean sighed. They made their way up the stairs stopping shortly to get some food from a vending machine. Luna frowned in distaste as they entered the room. The décor was ugly and the walls had corners with black grime on them, not to mention the one bed situation and Luna didn't like the look of the floor. But hey make do with what you have right?
"Luna will take the bed and we can talk the floor" Sam said tossing a bag to Dean which Luna presumed had his clothes in.
"What no" she protested grabbing Sam's bag and throwing it on the bed, "You guys saved my life, the least I can do is let you have the bed, I'll sleep on the floor."
"Not happening" Dean said gruffly. "You might still be slightly sore from your injury."
"No I'm not, It's gone look" she replied, pulling up her shirt to show her flawless stomach "See, I'm fine."
"Look Luna just take the goddamn bed" Dean sighed getting slightly irritated.
"You can't tell me what to do" she scowled at him.
"No? Well we saved your ass and we're driving to California for you, so how about you do what we say."
"Wow someone's a real dickhead."
"Hey! I'm not the one who got herself stabbed!"
"Well I'm not the one who is acting like an asshole!"
"Hey enough!" Sam shouted. Silently he took Deans bag and tossed it back on the floor and sat on one side of the bed. "If it makes you feel any better, I can share the bed with you, but please no more arguing!"
Luna nodded silently, her face red with embarrassment and sat on the bed eating her chocolate bar. Dean went into the bathroom and slammed the door, Sam rolling his eyes.
"I don't have any things and I hate to ask…"
"It's alright I can go to store with you make sure you get what you need" he smiled.
"Oh thank you but if it's alright I would like Dean to go with me, I need to apologise." Sam sat silently for a minute before agreeing.
Dean was out of the bathroom a few minutes after and went to sit down but Sam stopped him.
"I'm going to do some research here, Luna needs some things so why don't you go the shops with her." Dean looked at Sam before nodding and tucking his wallet in his back pocket.
"Come on Luna lets go shopping."
