Leonardo woke up at his usual five am. His alarm never sounded as he had been too preoccupied the night before to set it, but his internal clock still knew it was his usual time to rise from bed. He lay in the soft glow of a lamp he had left on perched upon the top of one of his tables across the room. Next to him still sleeping lay the woman he had made love to just hours before.
He shifted slightly, smiling as that just caused Lea to curl against him more. As light as a feather he kissed her hair, his memory bathed in everything that had happened the night before. He studied the sleeping face of the woman he had pledged himself to. Vividly recalling how she had looked when she had been trapped within the throes of her passion. He felt the blood move to his groin, as he also remembered how absolutely perfect the moment of his own release had felt.
He had told her about Splinter, a shadow of pain flashed through his eyes. He hadn't shared with anyone, not even his brothers how losing his father had really made him feel. How completely helpless and alone, he had battled with being. She had cried for him and it had taken everything in him at that moment to just not immediately make love to her again. She understood him and in a way he had never foreseen she supported him.
Leonardo had let go in so many different ways in such a short period of time, it might had been overwhelming to him had he plainly not seen that all of it had been building for months. Still nothing from the entire evening had felt better then when Lea had confessed her own love for him. He pulled her to him suddenly, burying his face in her hair, inhaling her scent.
Lea made a sleepy confused noise, "Leo?" Her tone was soft and slightly crushed as she found herself pressed tightly against the Turtle's shoulder.
"Sorry." Leonardo pulled away, dropping back down to his pillow. Lea scooted her body closer to his again resting her chin on her arm, on top of his plastron. The woman yawned, looking up at the Turtle with slightly bleary eyes. He couldn't help but smile, touching her lips with one of his fingers, thinking at this moment she looked completely adorable.
"Are you alright?" He appreciated the concern in her tone, knowing having been just woken up by him, she had every right to be annoyed more then anything.
"I was just thinking about how lucky I am." The warmth of her nude body pressed against his, had a cocooning effect. He wasn't certain how he was going to convince himself to get up for his morning training.
"You're not the only lucky one. I didn't think it was possible for a man like you to actually exist." Leonardo looked down at Lea a little perplexed by her words.
"What do you mean?" She stretched as he posed the question and Leo felt his tail twitch. This was an odd sensation having to control growing sexual desire like this. He wasn't used to it and he knew it was something he was going to have to work on quickly, as from the scent of the woman with him; he could easily tell both of their appetites for one another were going to be distracting at times.
He felt himself growl lightly as Lea shifted, straddling his waist with her body, her pink pert breasts hanging temptingly near his empty hands. Lea leaned forward her hands grasping his biceps in order to steady herself. Leonardo had to admit a part of him liked the feel of her on top of him.
"Leonardo do you even realize just how rare, beautiful and special you are; Strong, honorable, intelligent. I don't think another man on this world exists that encompasses all of the wonderful attributes that make you mean so much to me." Lea lowered her lips to his beak and kissed him; sweetly, gently.
Leo had never been in love before and he had never had anyone in love with him. The depth of emotion he felt surprised him and Lea's seemingly never ending admiration for who he was, probably shocked him even more. Leonardo liked the man he had grown into, but he had never kidded himself. From the small amount of allies his family had made over the course of his life he always had the impression he was respected, but held aloof.
Lea was different; she genuinely liked him for just who he was. What other people found boring or overbearing, she loved. The biggest surprise to Leo was the more they were together, the more he tended to forget just how different they were. Lea made him feel like he was just another guy, not a mutant, not a pariah from society as he had been for so much of his life. He would have to think of a way to thank the Utroms and April, because he couldn't imagine his life without the woman on top of him anymore.
Lea pulled away and looked behind them slightly, "What time is it anyway?" She groaned suddenly her head falling to his shoulder. "Why are you awake at five in the morning Leonardo?" The Turtle smiled at the obvious teasing distain in her voice.
"I always get up now; I usually meditate for an hour before doing all of my morning training." He allowed his fingers to trace up and down her nude back as he spoke to her, watching as her face lifted to his again, her brow cocked.
"I admire your dedication Ninja, but I certainly hope you don't expect me to get up everyday at this early hour." She stuck out her tongue making a face at him. Leonardo just grinned, his hands sliding down and grasping her ass, pulled her hips tightly against his.
"Even if I make it worth your while Kumquat?" Her scent changed almost immediately. Their mouths locked into another kiss, Leo turned pressing Lea into the bed spreading her legs with his own. Much to his continued surprise, Leonardo was certain he had found something he liked doing first thing in the morning even more then meditating. Their bodies joined and the two lost themselves to each other once again.
Lea had wanted to shower and get cleaned up before they left to go to the rally for the Utroms that afternoon. Leonardo decided to venture into the kitchen to make some tea. He had finally managed to pull himself out of his bed earlier, and while he had done his training Lea had made them both breakfast. He still hadn't seen either of his brothers, but that didn't really surprise him as Mike and Don both tended to stay up far too late into the night working on various projects.
Leonardo had long ago given up trying to rouse either of them at a decent hour; they usually just threw things at him and continued sleeping. This morning he hadn't even actually minded that much, as it had afforded Lea and he a bit more quite time together. He had the distinct feeling this afternoon was going to be mildly insane. He was pouring the hot water into the tea pot over his leaves when the door slammed open and Michelangelo came plodding into the room.
Leonardo watched his younger brother walk over to the fridge and grabbing the carton of milk, took a long swig directly out of the container. "That's disgusting Mike, you know we all use that right?" Leo's eye ridge rose watching as Mikey wiped off his mouth placing the drink back where he had gotten it from.
"So how was your night last night Leo?" Michelangelo swiftly changed the subject and from the grin on his face, Leonardo got a very clear impression of what information Mikey was interested in. The elder brother simply poured himself some tea, blowing on it waiting for the drink to cool.
"I slept well thank you, what about you?" Leo watched Mike study him, his eyes narrowing for a moment, before a cheeky smile once again spread across his face.
"Don and I went to visit April and Casey. They were interested to hear about what happened with Lea's shop. April was very interested to hear that Lea was now staying with us." Michelangelo watched Leo tense for a moment, before letting out a deep breath. Mike couldn't help but feel a little sorry for his brother. Leo had always kept himself so closed up and guarded; watching him attempt to change that now was both awkward and amusing to him.
"I will need to stop up and see April soon. I want to thank her. She's the one that told me to go to Lea's shop in the first place." Leo sipped his tea.
"You should get her a really nice gift." Mike's voice was matter-o-fact. Leo blinked at him a few times, not quiet following his logic.
"Why?" Leo was almost sorry he asked when he saw the mischievous smile that graced his brother's face at his question.
"For getting you laid." Mike had to fight back a laugh at the dark expression that crossed his brother's face, he could already see the tirade building within Leo, ready to burst out and it was way to early in the morning for a lecture. "Lighten up Leonardo; come on, we're just all really glad to see you happy."
Leonardo paused and took another deep breath and slowly his annoyance melted into his own smile. He had to realize that teasing was just the way Mike showed affection and try not to allow it to aggravate him so much, even when it did delve into topics he didn't think was any of his brothers concern. "Thank you, I am happy."
The two brothers exchanged smiles, and as if almost on cue the door opened again and Lea walked in. She had cleaned up and was in a dress and her hair was done. Lea always looked beautiful to him, but dressed up now to be on stage in front of so many people, it was the first time he had seen her look so feminine. Mike tried so hard not to laugh at the slightly stupefied expression that crossed his "fearless leader's" face. Sometimes these two were better then a television show.
"You look lovely." Lea smiled warmly at Leo's tone, a touch of flush appearing in her cheeks at the intensity of the emotions he allowed to spill through.
"Thank you Leo." She held her Turtle's warm gaze for a moment before turning to look at his brother. "Good morning Mike! Are you joining us for the rally today?" Leonardo was silently grateful she hadn't asked his brother about his night, for fear he would say something that would embarrass him.
"Yeah, Don is too, once he drags his lazy butt out of bed." Michelangelo had wandered back to the fridge and was now studying the contents, trying to decide what he wanted most for breakfast.
"Well we should probably leave soon; I know Glurin wanted to brief me on a laundry list of things. Though considering I'm suppose to just stand there and smile I'm not certain why I need to know this much." Lea stuck out her tongue in a playful manner, Leonardo clucked his tongue at her; shaking his head, a teasing smile on his face.
"Preparation is always the most important first step in any mission." Leonardo gently tapped against Lea's forehead with his finger. "Knowledge is power." Beside them Michelangelo snorted as he carried a carton of eggs over towards the stove.
"For cripes sake Leo, you sound like a fortune cookie." Mike was working on cracking eggs into a bowl, not even bothering to actually turn as he rolled his eyes at his brother.
"I think he's brilliant!" There was no teasing in Lea's tone and Leo blinked at her in surprise for a moment before a wide smile spread across his face, it turned into a grin as his gaze shifted over to Mike. Slowly Mikey turned from his work to look at his brother and the woman beside him like he was trying to figure out if she was actually serious. Realizing she was he did roll his eyes at them this time.
"I think we need to get you out more Lea."
Glurin has been droning on for at least twenty minutes straight at this point. Lea was trying her hardest to pay attention to every word he said, but she found her concentration wavering. Glurin was explaining everything the Utrom's had accomplished so far on their mission and what they felt they most immediately needed to take care of next. Once he started rambling off scientific achievements that she really didn't understand, Lea noticed that even Leo's eyes from where he was standing off to the side were starting to drift away from the alien speaking.
Mike and Don had parted from the two of them upon reaching the Utrom base. Both of them needed to check on matters related to their own missions, both promising to meet them in time for the rally so they could all stand on stage together. Lea had been absolutely fascinated by everything. She hadn't been to the Utrom's compound, it was still usual a long wait for a tour and up until this venture she just hadn't really had a reason to need to see it. Still at this moment a tiny part of her wished she was still back in Leonardo's home curled up with him on the couch at this moment.
Glurin asked her a question and Lea's attention snapped back to the alien across from her. Sheepishly she realized her thoughts had drifted to the Turtle in the room with her and that she didn't have any clue what the Utrom had just asked her about.
"Lea hasn't had any vaccines against alien viruses yet. Donatello said he would make certain she takes care of that, if she is going to be around here more then just today." Leonardo had a smirk on his face as he gracefully answered the question that had been poised to the woman across from him. Lea gave him a grateful smile, as Glurin nodded at his reply seemly lost in thought for a moment.
"Well that should be everything until the rally starts. If you want to show Lea around a little Leonardo, we all plan to head over towards the United Nations building in around an hour." Lea thanked the Utrom for his time and he expressed his gratitude once again for her coming to help them like she was. The Turtle and woman watched the small alien exit all exchanging farewells for the time being.
"And just what were you thinking about?" The rumble in Leonardo's voice brought a grin to Lea's face as she stood smoothing down the front of her dress.
"Certain…. Things that have been distracting me all morning." Lea purposefully allowed her eyes to drift down Leonardo's frame, leaving no mistake to the Turtle what she was implying.
"You are dangerous." She watched the Turtle glance around swiftly to see if anyone was within eye sight before he pulled her to him, kissing her lightly on the lips. Lea just shrugged playfully pulling away from Leo with a teasing smile.
"That's not what you said this morning." She fought a giggle as she walked from the room and into the hallway, Leonardo steps behind her, his eye ridges furrowing.
"I have to show you around, we have a lot of focus on today…" She stopped the sputtering speech of the man standing next to her, gently laying her finger tips against his beak.
"You're almost too easy to tease you know that Leo." She bit her lip, finally not able to stop the giggle that wanted to escape her. The Turtle's eyes narrowed in challenge, she could hear the light growl that left his throat. Still his eye sparked with mischief.
"You'll pay for it later Kumquat trust me." The electricity between them at the moment was palpable; Lea was just about to answer back, hoping to frazzle the man with her a little bit more when the sound of someone clearing their throat near them drew her attention.
Lea blinked for a moment at the strikingly beautiful Asian woman who was studying the two of them. Her dark eyes resting curiously on Lea, it took Lea a few moments but she realized she had passed her at Rockefeller Center also, the day of the last rally she had been to.
"Can I help you with something Karai? I'm not running general security today; I have my own personal matters to take care of." Lea glanced at Leo a little surprised by the change in his tone from just moments before. It wasn't just business, there was threat towards the Asian woman across from them.
Karai kept a cool air about her, carefully watching the reaction of the Turtle, a thoughtful look on her face; she turned back to the woman standing with him. "I was very sorry to hear about your home Miss Bowen." Karai inclined her head ever so slightly in a respectful bow. "It was a shame that something so unnecessarily harsh had to befall you." Her tone was so controlled, almost calculating.
Lea watched the muscles in Leonardo's neck tighten. It was the only sign of annoyance she was able to read from the man at her side. Lea felt awkward uncertain of the history between the two. "I appreciate the sentiment thank you; I have come to believe that everything happens for a reason and that a tragedy is only that if you allow it to be one." She made the same polite gesture with her head that Karai had made to her. The Asian woman's brow raised as a slight smirk spread across her face.
"I can see why you interest Leonardo so, good luck today." Karai once again inclined her head in a polite bow to both of them before walking past and down the hallway. Lea heard the soft growl that left Leo's chest once the Asian woman was out of ear shot and she looked at him a little confused.
"What was that about?" Leonardo frowned at her question.
"More then anything I was hoping once we settled this Humanitarian Union matter, you could be spared the sometime insanity of my life, but it looks my life won't let you." Leonardo sighed. "Karai is now the leader of the Foot, they run security here for the Utrom. I told you a little about my families dealings with them. You would do best to avoid her whenever you can. We have a truce, but I have never trusted her not to break it if the right situation for their organization presented itself." Leo's eyes were hard. Lea lay on gentle hand on his lower arm.
"I'd tell you that you worry too much Ninja, but I don't think that would do anything to stop you." The turtle turned as she spoke to him, she watched some of the volatile edge slip away from his expression. "Is my life a little bit more dangerous now then it ever has been?" Lea tilted her head considering Leonardo as she spoke. "Most likely." Leo looked offset as she bluntly laid out her current situation to him. "But am I happier then I've ever been?" Realizing where she was now going with this conversation an easy smile spread across Leonardo's face.
"Definitely, because I know I am." The rumble in Leo's tone caused Lea's eyes to close for a moment. Reaching up Leonardo twisted a few of her curls between his fingers. Suddenly Lea's eyes popped open.
"Do Utrom's have broom closets maybe we could find a nice, quiet place…" She trailed off a mischievous grin now on her face. Wrapping an arm firmly around her and pulling Lea tightly to him, Leonardo clicked his tongue at her in a teasing manner.
"You're a bad girl, you should be focused on the rally and your duty." The Turtle pushed a lock of hair out of her face, his expression warm. He looked so different then when Leo had first walked into her shop what felt like ages ago now. He had been so withdrawn and formal and now all Lea could see when she looked at him was devotion and affection.
"Well why don't you show me around then Leo and I'll try to control myself for you." She smirked cutely up at him, Reaching out towards the hand that wasn't holding hers, wishing to grasp his as they started their tour.
"At least until later." Leo's eyes shone with a playful quality she was just starting to realize he had, but that the Turtle kept a tight check on. He enveloped her hand in his and together they began to explore the Utrom base.
Lea tried not to appear nervous while on stage with Leo and his brothers. As the time had been drawing closer she could feel butterflies starting to dance in her midsection. Walking out with Glurin, Lea had been shocked by the amount of people at the rally. She realized she had agreed to this venture without really fully considering just what she would have to do. Still Lea had pledged to help the Utroms and wasn't going to allow a small surge of stage fright to stop her from doing so.
Between Leonardo and Michelangelo, she felt fairly secure. It was odd never had her life been in more danger then it was presently, but in the same token she wasn't certain if she had ever felt so safe. Something about the Turtles, they were true warriors and they made Lea feel like nothing could harm her. Glurin had introduced her as an honored guest at the start of his speech, Lea watched as both curious and hostile looks were aimed her way as the Utrom droned on. While brilliant by nature, Lea was starting to question just how passionate the little alien's were able to actually come across and she wondered if that might also be effecting the publics perception of them.
Leo was tense and Lea could almost feel his gaze racking the crowd, looking for the slightest hint of a threat. She had no doubt in her mind if Leonardo perceived one he would dispatch with it swiftly and that worried Lea because she didn't want something larger to break out within the already tense mass of people and for any of her new friends to end up hurt.
The whole event had been fairly peaceful thus far. Glurin was laying out plans to help humanity work on new fuel sources so that as a world the human race could be less dependant on fossil fuels. Lea thought it sounded ingenious and wanted to ask Donatello questions about things she didn't understand clearly later. She was so taken by what the small pink alien was saying she didn't notice a heckler pushing his way through crowd until it was too late.
Some man, in-descript, slightly dirty started to cause a scene yelling about how the city was going to hell. Others around him joined in and she felt Leo's frame press into her side, ushering Lea backwards slightly as a can was lobbed from within the mass of complaining people. The Turtle was angry, Lea could easily sense it, but she swiftly realized so was she. Here was Glurin, standing up here for no other reason then to do something kind for this unruly mass and he was getting punished for it.
Leonardo was trying to maneuver Lea towards the exit at the back of the stage, Mike and Don moving to form a protective flank around them. The crowd was swelling and gathering around the original ingrate, Lea suddenly grabbed Leo's arm, causing the Turtle to look up at her surprised by both her action and the look of cool fury that had crossed her face. "How dare you!"
Lea's tone was chiding and angry and rang out amidst the grumblings of the multitude. A few protestors paused, surprised by the human on the stage scolding them. Lea pushed her way past Leo and Mike, Leonardo made a noise of displeasure reaching out to grasp her arm. Lea took a moment to gently shake her head at him, squeezing his hand lightly asking silently with her eyes for him to give her just a few moments. She didn't feel threatened as long as he was there and she knew what she needed to do was important.
Leo warred within himself, Lea watched it and waited patiently, knowing she couldn't push the Turtle or he might make a rash decision that she didn't agree with. Leonardo's jaw tightened as his hand feel down to his side again. He returned Lea's nod to her, but when she stepped forward she felt him move with her. She knew Leo wouldn't be more then a step or two away from her at all times.
Lea realized much of the attention had been drawn to her and the Turtle at her side. She took a deep breath and felt herself without though glancing to Michelangelo who flashed her a supportive smile; like he knew what she was about to do and approved of it. Squaring her shoulder's Lea stepped forward again allowing her gaze to fall directly on the man below who had started the commotion in the first place.
"I think some of you know who I am." Lea held the angry gaze of the fellow below her until she reached Glurin's side. She finally glanced over at the Utrom, and was pleased when he stepped back from the microphone without a protest, she could see as curious to see what she had to say as a lot of the crowd below. "For those of you who don't…" Lea moved squarely to the center of the stage, allowing her gaze to roam over the audience, she blinked when she saw a hand waving farther back. With gratitude Lea realized it was Mairead. She had asked her friend to bring people from the shop down but she hadn't been certain she would want to. Knowing she had a small amount of support in front of her helped calm any fear that lingered in her nerves.
"My name is Lea, I came to this city almost right out of college. I got a job here, starting at the very bottom and through hard work and dedication became the owner of my own business. My life was never anything fancy but it was happy and I enjoyed what I did." The fervor in the people in front of her had cooled down. They were now listening to Lea, wondering just what she was currently getting at.
"I have family upstate, like I a lot of you probably do. I have a dog, who drives me crazy because he scared of pretty much every other person he meets. I love pizza and bad action movies and probably eat more junk food then I should." Lea was surprised by the amount of emotion in her tone and also in the pain she felt sink into her heart. She thought of her shop of the hours and hours she had put into it and slowly the sadness started to boil into an angry. She felt herself looking right down at the troublemaker from earlier again.
"I love America. I can be stupid and patriotic and I enjoy very few things as much as watching the History channel at night and learning about this country. It's suppose to be the land of free, build on the principal of liberty." Lea took a deep breath, glancing down for a moment trying to categorize how she best wanted to express her feelings next.
"Almost my entire life was destroyed and not because I was a bad person, or I cheated someone out of something; but because someone felt they had the right to tell me who I could love." Lea couldn't help herself she felt her gaze fall back on Leonardo, the Turtle was watching her, his eyes slightly surprised. He was impressed by the unashamed way Lea could announce her feelings for him.
"Humanity has a real chance here, to become so much greater then maybe we even imagine we ourselves can become. Yet if we allow ourselves to be bogged down in small-minded prejudice, if we are so terrified of change that we try to crush anything that would bring any. We are never going to become better and instead I really fear we are going to drown in our own ignorance." Lea's voice grew soft as her words tapered away at the end. Reaching behind her Leo was close enough that she was able to easily grasp his hand. She watched him stiffen for a moment, she knew being displayed in front of this large of a crowd was difficult for the Turtle. His gaze locked on hers though and after a breath he relaxed slightly. Holding her back, for a second it was like everything else disappeared to Lea except the two of them.
"You got what you deserved!" Lea and Leonardo both turned at the angry voice. It was the man that had started the ruckus earlier, Lea frowned feeling Leo step closer to her, pressing her back into his plastron and she realized he was both supporting her and fearful the ingrate in front of them might try something.
Lea was mortified. She wasn't even certain how to answer such a horrible statement as the one the guy glaring up at her had made. How could someone truly believe hurting her that badly was right, just because she choose to love someone they didn't deem appropriate for her. Lea's heart felt heavy, she was trying to formulate a reply but it just wasn't coming to her.
"What did that jackass up front just say?!" Lea's eyes rose to the shrill fury contained in Mairead's voice as she yelled from farther back in the crowd. People parted, allowing the small woman to walk up more, followed by some other workers from Lea's shop and a few of their mutual friends. "I want to make certain I heard this guy right, that what happened to Lea was deserved?!" The small obviously angry crowd took a little of the fight out of the loud mouthed protestor. He frowned at Mairead for a few moments.
"She choose to fuck a freak, so bad shit is going to happen to her." Mairead only had a few people between her and guy she was arguing with now. Leo's arms were firmly around Lea's torso as she watched the events unfolding in front of her and she got the impression that he was afraid she might leap down into the middle of the argument. Don and Mike came up to either side of them and that gave Lea a sense of relief knowing the two of them wouldn't allow anyone to harm her friends.
"You…are…an…asshole…" Mairead's words were measured her tone furious. "You know what I'm getting tired of?" Mairead was looking around her as she spoke, the crowd now milling and watching her. The Turtles stood in a line, over seeing the moment; while Glurin stood slightly off to the side. Viewing the humans and watching the entire mood of the mob in front of him shifting with fascination.
"I'm getting sick of idiots like you telling all the rest of us, the good people, the decent people what we have to do and think; and if we don't agree with your small minded ideas then what we deserve to be destroyed too? Do you even realize how stupid that sounds?" Mairead wasn't backing down an inch and as her tone rose people in the crowd started to shout agreements with her. Lea watched, surprised when even though it started as just the people they knew, soon others were joining in and they sounded just as impassioned.
"Well I say it's over. You won't tell me what I can and can't believe anymore. I am standing up and I am voicing what I want and you can't stop me!" The tide in the mob had turned. The original trouble maker, had seemed at first like he was going to continue to try to fight back until he realized most of his support was gone. Chanting and shouts about freedoms and liberty and America, bubbled around the crowd. The man frowned but slowly sunk back again, Mairead turned to smile up at her friend and Lea returned it to her. Indescribably grateful, they exchanged nods. Next to her Mikey whistled low.
"Damn that woman is something else." Lea couldn't stop the grin that formed on her face as she looked over at the other Turtle, she turned to look at Don and had to bit her lip. He took was staring at Mairead and was obviously impressed in his own way. Lea wanted to make a comment but her attention was distracted as Leo leaned in so his mouth was next to her ear.
"You are both impressive, that was extremely well played." Lea felt a shiver through her frame at his deep voice so near to her. She leaned back a little closer to the Turtle whose arms she was in.
"You make it sound like I planned that and that couldn't be further from the truth, but I meant every word I said." Her gaze turning to capture his, her expression intense. Leonardo leaned in as if about to kiss her, his own emotions overflowing in ways he simply wasn't use. It was the roar of the crowd around them that finally stopped him, Lea settled for the soft smile he graced her with and the look of love he gave her.
"Thank you Lea." Distracted by the Turtle at her side Lea had almost forgotten about Glurin until he had returned to the center of the stage to reclaim the podium. "I know this is difficult…" The Utrom started to speak again and Lea was pleased to note there was a new conviction to his tone. Leonardo pushed Lea back towards the rear of the stage with his body and suddenly all Lea wanted to was get away from all the prying eyes so that she could devour this man she adored so completely with kisses.
"We realize it will take time for us to earn your trust and all I can ask you for is that you allow us that period to show you that we mean everything we say…" Glurin continued his speech his laundry list of priorities he had been given previously seemly forgotten now that he realized the crowd was reacting better to this new line of communication.
Lea and Leo slipped from the stage, Lea felt like she had accomplished just about all she could do for the Utroms at this moment and really her main concern was still the Ninja at her side and his family. She felt so exhilarated, like she had just finished running a race and she had won. As soon as they were a few paces away from the crowd and behind a barrier erected for the event Lea threw herself up and against Leonardo her mouth hungrily crushing into his beak.
He didn't protest or pull away, but instead Leo met her intensity with matching strength. It wasn't until Mike's voice broke through there thoughts that either of them even realized they weren't alone.
"Geeze you two get a room!" Lea felt flushed and through Leo looked much the same, but his recovery was almost instantaneous and she couldn't help but laugh at the annoyed look he gave his younger brother.
"Mikey I don't think Leo wants your opinion." Even with the dead pan tone of his voice Lea could see the slight grin Don was fighting as he walked up to join them.
"Both of you my private life is none of your business." Leonardo had a slight growl to his voice. Mike just rolled his eyes.
"We're all family now Leo, lighten up." Mike winked at her and Lea felt a new warmth flash through her at the knowledge all these men she cared so much about also felt that way about her. Leonardo froze for a moment and Lea watched him waiting to see what he would reply. She enjoyed the fact it was a smile that now spread across his face.
"Family… your completely right Michelangelo." It seems his brothers transgressions from moments before were being forgotten and instead Leonardo reached down to grasp Lea's hand in his. "All of us."
