*PLEASE READ*

Sorry for the long unannounced hiatus there. I can't say when I'll be able to continue this story, but rest assured, this will not be cancelled.

In reference, here is a link that will take you to the concept art I used for Baganite in case you'd wish to get a clear idea of what the kaiju looks like.

Edit: the link won't show up here. It's under the Godzilla Wiki for Bagan, labeled the following: "Concept Art - Mothra Vs. Bagan - Bagan Thirty (even the number wouldn't show... sorry about that) "

Keep in mind that this Mothra Leo is not at the Rainbow Mothra state (think of it as a more advanced Mothra Leo that has more abilities available at a lower form [such as the ability to become Aqua Mothra], but durability wise is more or less the same as the previous Mothra Leo). Now for stats of the new monster (specifically abilities; you can determine the monster's height and weight)

Baganite: Ghostly white beam of destructive plasma energy, incredible durability, jet propulsion from his protrusions (incredibly high speed), extendable tail with a blade that can cut through diamond as if it were butter

- Weakness: overly sensitive to pain due to highly active nerves as a result of the constant DNA manipulation of the Othermen, susceptible to Mothra's poison powder (reference to cancelled Bagan Vs. Mothra from Toho)

With that out of the way, let's continue on to the fight!

Ch. 3 The Wrath of Baganite

Mothra Leo had been listening via the Shobijin, so when he heard that Baganite was in fact losing control, he immediately checked the vicinity for humans, but to his surprise, it was empty. In fact, it seemed that the claim of killing everyone in the vicinity was, in fact, a bluff meant to halt their actions. Thank the heavens the city had already been evacuated, thought Mothra Leo. Now he had less reason to hold back against this thing (he still had to worry about the city, as there may be potential individuals that in some form or another were unable to flee). So when the white beam struck the building, he was somewhat relieved to be unable to feel the deaths of any human beings; there weren't any around to be killed (aside from, well, that one group with the Prime Minister).

After having narrowly swerved away from the ghastly white beam, Leo realized that this "thing" in front of him would and will not back down. Leo flapped his wings slowly, as the two monstrosities circled slowly around another. The protector of the Earth was slightly startled, for he could see the pupils in Baganite's eyes dilate, giving the effect of glazing over. It almost seemed like he was being possessed, as if some evil spirit had gained control over his mind and –ERRGRAARRGH!

Leo shrieked at the sound of Baganite's roar, a low screechy gurgle, as the 4-legged dragon leaped forth, crashing headfirst into the building behind Leo. It became clear that the dragon was not injured, as he burst forth from the rubble with no sign of damage, yet one could see that he did feel pain. Now was the time to strike!

Leo zoomed across the city, unleashing torrents of Cross Heat Rainbow Laser beams, traveling from his forehead straight into Baganite's body, exploding along the bony exoskeleton and sending the dragon reeling, groaning with every painful blow.

But his skin would not give way. That was one thing the agonizing operations succeeded with. Immense durability. Baganite ran throughout the city, attempting to dodge left and right from the rainbow beams, only to eventually be blown off his feet and into surrounding buildings. Every time he leaped towards the moth, he would crash into a nearby building and be blasted by Leo's rainbow beams. And every time he shot out his plasma beam, it would barely miss the moth. If anything, he was persistent to a fault.

The dragon once again tried his hardest to strike his winged foe, only to send his destructive energies into the air, hitting nothing but clouds in the sky. He eventually went back to his previous strategy and leaped into the air to try and swipe at the moth, only to be thwacked by his wings. But this time, Baganite got lucky when his tail cut across Leo's left wing, forcing him down to the ground. But before he could recover, Baganite was now upon him!

The dragon bit into the wing, as Leo screeched in pain, before standing on its hind legs and flinging the moth into the nearest building. Baganite bounded towards him again, but to his surprise, Leo was prepared. Just as he reached the moth, Leo suddenly uppercutted Baganite with his wing, catching him off guard and leaving him open for an attack. Leo unleashed his Cross Heat Rainbow Laser Beams, scalding Baganite's gut and sending the beast into the rubble behind him. But once again, no bloodshed. How much damage could this creature take!?

...

Unbeknownst to the two fighters, the sight of white beams flying aimlessly in the air could give the perfect cue to attract other kaiju. In this case, it was the necessary beacon for a certain king. He stared at the shoreline, watching all the little ants flee from the scene. Oh, how he wished he hadn't needed to return here. He had enough of them plotting to kill him, especially with that one mechanical lookalike. He could see all the little tanks and battleships lined up, prepared to fire upon his skin. His eyes caught sight of a chopper with his adoptive mother inside: Miki. Unlike most of the ants - humans as they call themselves-, this one could telepathically communicate to him much like she did with his father years ago. The two would often send mental images to each other, but recently he had been able to process some human dialect (at least the ones pertaining to him). She communicated with him about the battle going on and how the leader of the Othermen wants him dead, like all other kaiju. Miki… mother… it's been so long. But he wasn't going to let that deter him now. He roared softly to her as he sent images to tell her that no matter what, he needed to help Leo. And to his surprise, all the tanks and battleships moved out of the way, pointing him to a clear path with minimal destruction. And now that his mother sent the image of whatever that creature was, he was gonna make sure that it would be defeated.

...

This was going nowhere! Leo chirped out to the kaiju, hoping he'd regain his senses and end this charade. But in response, he always got the same white beam barely missing his wings. He could feel the intensity packed in each beam, begging to annihilate anything that dares to stand in its way. If that thing hit him… things could get dicey.

Now, it was time for another plan of action.

Leo dropped his altitude, moving closer and closer to the ailing kaiju. In desperation, the wingless dragon bit into sizable chunks of smaller buildings that only reached up to a quarter of his height and flung them. These chunks were annihilated as Leo unleashed his Jade Bolts, green diamond-shaped energy blades that sliced through the ground and blasted alongside Baganite's back. Again, no blood was shed, but the jade bolts were only meant to distract him.

Now, Leo was hovering just above the supposed superbeast. Baganite faltered back and forth as the jade bolts lanced into his sides. But now that his foe was close, there was no way he could miss! The bony protrusions glowed as a white gas oozed from his gaping jaw. Triclydius was going to pay!

In no time at all, Reflective Rainbow Powder flew from Leo's wings as they flapped faster and faster. And the powder worked its magic immediately, causing Baganite to scream upon contact. The white beam faded away as the paralyzing effects of the powder shattered his focus. It seemed as if he was truly susceptible to this powder! He tried to back away, to hide behind the immense structures just to stop the pain. But Leo kept on him, never giving him a chance to outrun the moth. It didn't help that the surrounding area was mostly rubble too, giving little area for Baganite to actually hide.

Now it was time. Leo was ready to fire his Rainbow Laser beams, ready to take the offensive once again. But the protrusions still glowed. And Baganite, despite the intense agony that he felt as the paralyzing powder started to affect his body, suddenly stood his ground. By the time Leo processed the sudden change in emotion, it was already too late.

In mere seconds, the protrusions shot out white light, sending plumes of white gas like a jet engine. Baganite zoomed into the air until BAM! The two crashed into each other, with Baganite's momentum carrying Leo 1000s of feet away into a skyscraper, prompting the shrieks and gasps of both the Shobijin and the other onlookers. Wasting no time, Baganinte clawed and swiped and bit into Leo, attempting to shred his wings and tear off his legs. Leo cried out both in shock and pain, but now that Baganite was on him, he could use another attack. Just as Baganite was about to go for the throat, Leo's chest started to glow, alarming the beast. Just as his protrusions glowed, the Mineral Chest Beam blasted him into the sky above as he screamed in pain. Only THIS time was there noticeable damage.

"Impossible!", cried Yakimi, "No monster we've come across has been able to pierce his skin!"

"You're worried more about how your monster fares rather than the well being of this city?" – commented one of the members. But before anyone could reply, Leo's fortune had run out.

Leo quickly flew off the ground and attempted to gain altitude, only for his green eyes to process the white ghastly beam striking his underside. He screeched as the beam exploded along his belly and flung him into several buildings behind him, soon to be buried by the rubble. Baganite, however, had already recovered from Leo's beam and was on the attack.

Just as Leo shook off the rubble, Baganite leaped onto his back, forcing the Guardian of the Earth back onto the ground. Baganite was only slightly larger than Leo, but he was heavy enough to keep Leo immobile. Leo shrieked as his challenger scratched and clawed all over his wings, making them more and more frail. He could hear his protectors crying for him, telling him to get up, to fight back, to stay alive. But as he looked back, his eyes caught the blade on the end of Baganite's tail lunging forward into his right wing.

Leo screamed as the blade pierced through, only for Baganite to continuously stab the spot, penetrating the wing deeper and deeper. In response, Leo released more jade bolts, striking Baganite's underside and forcing him off his back. The brave moth tried to fly, flapping as hard as he can to reach a higher altitude, but Baganite wasn't done with him. Just as Leo thought he could fly again, the destructive white plasma beam burst forth, striking the the right wing once more, creating a hole in his wing and forcing Leo back to the ground again!

The flightless dragon was on his back again, this time with a murderous glare. The voices inside his head screamed, "Do it! Do it now! Kill the moth! KILL!" His tail poised in position, like a scorpion about to strike his prey. His target: Mothra Leo's brain. His prey wanted to escape, to retreat and fight another day, but with the present hole in his wing, there was no chance of escaping. He could blast him off, but he wasn't gonna be flying anywhere far for a while. His time had run out.

BOOM!

The dragon's mind halted, suspended in time by the sound. Another kaiju!? The ghost that once commanded him had been, for the first time in its… eternal life, startled, so much so that it gave Baganite the chance to fight back the image of Triclydius clouding up his brain. To everyone else, it looked as if he had been paralyzed or frozen in time.

BOOM!

Shobijin: He's here…

Leo looked up, his chirp a sound of surprise and relief. His savior had arrived.

One would think that the ongoing battle would captivate an audience more so than the arrival of another monster. But this wasn't just any random monster. No, most of them didn't need to look to know. This was the monster they were waiting for.

BOOM!

As every remaining individual (including some foolish reporters and journalists) rushed towards another glass window to get a better sight, they all gasped. Some were filled with excitement and joy, others were fearful.

BOOM!

They all knew his name. But none dared to speak it. Except for one. The only brave, if not foolish, soul that looked upon him as simply another kaiju, one to be terminated like the rest. Only now did he put two and two together, and figured out what this was, this giant muscular charcoal gray dinosaur with jagged yet evenly distributed spines that flashed blue lights, and orange and yellow eyes burning with pure seething rage. This was the one that they called…

Yakimi: Godzilla…

SKREEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNGK!

Suddenly, the image of Triclydius vanished, as Baganite jolted off of Leo's body from the powerful roar. His pupils shrunk from their dilated form, his mind momentarily jolted from whatever took hold. Confused and bewildered, the dragon turned to meet his fate, for the King of the Monsters was looking down upon him with distaste. No longer was he interested in the ancient dragon long ago, no longer did he listen to the voice in his head crying out "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? KILL HIM! KILL THAT BLASTED MOTH ALREADY!"

No.

He had truthfully forgotten all about that moth entirely. Instead, he remembered why he was here now. This lizard in front of him… this was what his master wanted. This had to be. The King of the Monsters … dead.

Godzilla observed the scenario, surprised at Leo's misfortune. He always considered himself equal to his friend, but if this thing that was probably ½ his size could do that sort of damage…

The wingless dragon roared at his foe, unaware of Mothra Leo pitifully flapping his wings to a safer location. Godzilla replied with his own, and stepped forward with the very intent of killing this thing. And then… Baganite snapped.

The wingless dragon charged, flailing his tail wildly as a threat. The two kaiju collided head on, Baganite's momentum pushing the two back several feet before Godzilla shoved him off. It became very clear to Baganite who was superior in physical strength, if the size difference wasn't any indication, yet he chose to keep charging and grappling. And each time, Godzilla would bat him away, sometimes viciously. But on one such attempt, Baganite's glowing protrusions unleashed their might, propelling the dragon straight into Godzilla's gut and promptly knocking the surprised King onto his back. Seizing the chance, Baganite leaped onto Godzilla and proceeded to scratch and claw, only to find that none of his attacks were leaving any lasting impressions. But before he could poise his tail to strike, he suddenly felt Godzilla's claws close around his neck, choking his very essence before being flung onto his back.

As the two returned to their feet, Godzilla's dorsal spines started to flash their signature blue as Baganite gasped for his breath. And when Baganite regained his composure, it was too late for him to dodge, as the thermonuclear ray slammed into him and exploded along his body, sending the screaming dragon careening into the buildings. Godzilla cautiously approached the dragon, seeing that despite how effortless it was to floor the beast, there was little to no true damage caused by the beam itself. Though just when his eyes registered the markings caused by one of Leo's attacks, Baganite's maw unleashed the ghostly white beam that downed his friend.

Godzilla screamed out in shock as the beam exploded chunks of his skin off and floored the King of the Monsters. While his regenerative abilities could make short work of the damage, he could still feel the small trickles of blood pouring from where the beam had struck. It wasn't often at all that a kaiju could cause blood on Godzilla, let alone in the first few seconds of the fight. And as Baganite made his approach, wary of another thermonuclear ray, the King of the Monsters understood why Leo didn't want him to arrive. Somehow, Leo had sensed the pure raw power that Baganite possessed and knew that it was enough to down both of them. A fast kaiju like Leo could easily dodge the beam and wear down the mobile kaiju over time. But a slow and lumbering kaiju like himself? That's a different story. How would he take down this creature?

Before his thought process could answer that question, Baganite fired his beam again, targeting the ground beside Godzilla and blasting rubble and dirt all over the King while preventing him from regaining his footing. He could hear the wingless dragon's taunts and the creature kept firing his devastating beam, infuriating the King more and more as he felt the beam explode along his side. Godzilla tried to respond with his own ray, only for the more mobile mutant to sidestep the beam and continue his onslaught. But the quadruped failed to notice one thing: how close he was now to his foe after dodging that last ray.

Right after another plasma beam had been released, the King of the Monsters suddenly spun his body across the ground, allowing his tail to thwack Baganite and send him to the ground as the King simultaneously regained his footing. The force of the blow had temporarily dazed the dragon, giving the King the chance to grab the dragon's tail. Baganite squealed in terror as he tried in vain to claw the ground, only for him to be slammed into the ground beside Godzilla repeatedly. After the fourth collision into the ground, the protrusions of Baganite started to glow as the dragon hoped to use their force to free himself from Godzilla's grasp. But Godzilla was a more patient monster than at first glance, and knew what Baganite was planning to do. In fact, he had anticipated this very move and had figured out just how to end this fight.

On the fifth collision to the ground, Baganite was about to unleash his jet propulsions, when suddenly he felt Godzilla tug on his tail and orient the beast up to the sky. Before the wingless dragon could understand what was going on, Godzilla threw him into the sky just as the protrusions unleashed their jetstreams. WHOOOOOSH! The dragon screamed in terror as the monster was sent flying straight up into the sky, propelled both by his own protrusions and the sheer strength of Godzilla's arms. And as Godzilla watched the monster scream by his takeoff, his eyes suddenly diverted to Leo, who despite the hole in his wing suddenly sped off towards the monster. And for the first time in many years, Godzilla couldn't help but smile (which to some onlookers looked terrifying). For all the trouble that Leo is constantly put through, no matter how much damage he's sustained, he still continues on fighting with everything he's got. Just like himself.

As Baganite neared the apex of his flight, just before the beginning of the stratosphere, Leo had made it to meet the dragon with the mineral chest beam ready to fire. And for that very brief moment, just before the beam collided and sent him back to his fate, Baganite unleashed a blood-curdling scream... but it wasn't his scream. No. It was a high pitched screech of terror. A screech that Leo knew all too well, and suddenly it all came together. The very specific targeting of Leo. The dilating of the pupils. The bell-like scream of fright. It wasn't just a vengeful spirit. It was the spirit of Grand King Ghidorah, the 3 headed terror his past incarnation had killed! And Leo knew one other thing: this spirit's power was strong enough to attract a certain kaiju… King Ghidorah! He isn't coming just to take over the Earth. No, he's come for revenge for his brother. In other words...

HE'S COMING FOR MOTHRA LEO.

Godzilla watched as the explosion from the mineral chest beam sent Baganite straight back down to Godzilla. Normally, a kaiju would just let the monster crash into the Earth and be done with it. Other monsters may intercept it with a beam weapon (even if it may not kill or help). But not Godzilla. He knew better than that. As he watched the dragon fall to his location, his body tensed, ready to act.

Godzilla took a step back.

Baganite came close and closer to the ground. The brief lapse of his mind had made him realize for the first time in his entire life how much control he truly had over himself: none.

Godzilla turned his hips.

Baganite reached terminal velocity and was even closer now. The wingless dragon… regretted it's existence as a mere pawn.

Godzilla curled his tail back.

Baganite was about to reach the ground… and Godzilla released all of his stored kinetic energy into one single swipe.

THWACK!

The mighty tail of Godzilla struck Baganite in the gut, cracking his bones and scratching his innards as he was sent flying once again. Blood protruded from his mouth as he screamed in agony. Godzilla kept his eyes on his foe, watching the wingless dragon fly off into the horizon towards Mount Fuji. All the onlookers in the room ran across the window to follow the monster's path. They all watched as the mutant known as Baganite crashed into the side of Mount Fuji, the impact sending huge clouds of dust and dirt with a short but visible shockwave. No one could see whether or not the monster had survived. None of them would see the broken jagged bones jutting out of a bloodied corpse within the crater, organs pierced through and some spilled out.

But Godzilla and Mothra Leo… they felt it. They all knew at the very least… that Baganite was dead.

As Leo gracefully floated down to Godzilla's location (miraculously considering the hole in Leo's wing), the King of the Monsters stared down into the one building full of people that they had made sure not to strike, and found his target: Yakimi. Everyone backed away in terror as Godzilla's anger penetrated the heart of the leader of the Othermen, once proud of his creation. His monster… his guardian… dead. Gone once again.

The King of the Monsters was tempted to roar, but he felt Leo calmly land on his back as his eyes caught the Shobijin. He saw something he wouldn't normally see on their faces: horror. He realized then that Mothra Leo had seen something and had relayed it telepathically to his two twin fairies. What exactly happened up there?

Shobijin: Mothra has just told us Baganite was indeed possessed.

All of the people and the Othermen turned to the Shobijin. They all wondered the same question: by who?

Shobijin: Grand King Ghidorah.

At this, everyone gasped in horror at the revelation, but the next statement was what caused a major uproar.

Shobijin: His brother, King Ghidorah, is coming to Earth as well to avenge his brother's death.

All the journalists and reporters were in a panic but were silenced when they heard the growl of Godzilla. The Shobijin had also sent their message to him at this time, but he knew he had to shut these ants up. This wasn't a time to panic.

Yashimi: Pardon me for asking, but what exactly is this King… however you said it?

Prime Minister: King Ghidorah. Known to many as the King of Terror, he's a planet destroyer that has thwarted our Earth several times. The father to the Godzilla you see here has managed to fight off this demon all times with the help of other monsters, including the ancestor of Mothra Leo.

Yashimi: Oh my… what does this monster look like?

Morgan (in a serious tone): A 3 headed devil.

Prime Minister: Well, yes. A golden three headed dragon.

Yakimi (at this point is panic stricken): WHAT!? You can't be…

Morgan: Just as he said, pal.

Yakimi: But… but that's…

They all were then interrupted as Leo chirped to them and Godzilla. The Shobijin translated, "King Ghidorah has just reached our solar system! Mothra Leo wishes to intercept-"

Suddenly everyone except the Shobijin covered their ears as Godzilla roared. He then turned to Leo, who was now trying to fly, and the two roared and chirped at each other. The Shobijin translated the most important bits of the conversation to those watching.

Godzilla: You're not going to space to fight that dragon alone, Leo. I don't care how strong you think you are.

Leo: Godzilla, it's my duty. I have to protect this Earth to the best of my ability. You know that as well as I do. He's after me and me alone. Maybe if I fight him out there, he'll let this planet go.

Godzilla: I may not have experienced this dragon, but based on what I've heard and your (looks at the hole) condition, King Ghidorah is gonna kill you! And when he does, he'll come down to Earth and-

Leo: -and if he does, you'll finish him off! We have to protect this planet from Ghidorah at all costs!

At this, Leo's right wing gave out. He had used up all the energy he could to attack Baganite and keep himself flying despite the hole and was now trapped.

Godzilla stared down at Leo as he stared up. Leo hated that Godzilla was correct here.

Godzilla: I'll fight him. We're gonna get you back to your home so that you and the Shobijin can use your mumbo jumbo (Leo: mana ) and if he comes, I'll fight him off. I'll do what my father did many times before. King Ghidorah has gotten stronger? So have I!

Leo:... ok... Thank you, Godzilla.

At this, Godzilla grabbed Leo, let him climb onto his back, and trekked back to the sea towards Leo's home. It wouldn't be long before King Ghidorah would return to their world, so they had to be quick!

Prime Minister: Gentlemen, we must act now! (on phone) General, prepare the military for King Ghidorah. Get everything ready. Missiles, tanks, aircrafts, we'll need whatever we can get. (off phone) Everyone else, get to safety. Especially you Othermen. If you can help, we'll need all of we can get.

Yakimi: Yes, we will do whatever we can to fight this devil.

Prime Minister: Ok. Everyone, stay safe. Meeting adjourned.

At this moment, everyone cleared out of the room. Many of them went back to their cars to get as far away as they possibly could. This included Morgan, who had to report back to the AKL of the arrival of King Ghidorah… something with which he never wished to experience ever again.

Yakimi and Yashimi returned to their spacecraft, preparing all weapons for the arrival of the King of Terror. The Othermen set course to the location of Baganite, where they would reassemble the monster using its DNA samples. Yakimi and Yashimi both however had received a secret card from Morgan, stating "When you wish to recreate your kaiju, contact us and we will help you with whatever you need." After glancing this, Yakimi stood by the control panel, staring out at the Earth.

Yakimi: So… you have threatened this planet as well... Godzilla, may you defeat that dragon… Triclydius.

End of Chapter.
