Okay so... This is straight after the last chapter and there is no injection in this one. Or the next one now that I think about it... =/ But whatever ^_^ Have fun reading. There's a really fun cliff hanger at the end =P Oh and I would like to thank everyone for reviews! (Just realised that I haven't thanked anyone yet!) Most specifically JBethH for being there since the very beginning all those months ago. Also wideawakepastmidnight and MeAzrael for their contributing reviews that have kept me going. =D

Joanna stared for a little while, running what Dean had said through her mind, picking it apart and figuring it out. The blood was working, she knew it. Here was Dean having asked that she help his little brother. And she intended to do it.

Putting down the syringe, Jo glanced at Dean quickly; he was back to his nonchalant face, humming again with not a care in the world. Except one; his brother.

She took the phone from her jeans and started to scroll through the contacts list, passing names such as Dean, Bobby and Garth, even wincing slightly when she skipped the name Ellen. Finally she found Sam and clicked the call button.

After two dials the other end picked up and Sam spoke, "Hello?" For a moment Jo said nothing but listened to the way he breathed; noting how it was fast paced and his voice was exuberant. Like he'd just had an energy drink… Or demon blood.

"Sam?" Her voice was quiet but she still saw how Dean cocked his head and glanced at her; as if he could hear her every word. "Jo?" If it was possible, Sam's voice became more animated. "What's wrong? Is it Dean?" She could hear the rising anger in his voice along with worry and she hurried to stem them both.

"No, it's neither. I-" She glanced over at Dean, he was still watching her, before continuing, "I was just wondering when you're coming back." Sam breathed a sigh of relief before pausing.

"Soon," Was all he promised before the line was cut; he'd hung up on her.

"That was educational," Dean quipped, proving he had heard. "What an asshole; hanging up on you." Jo looked over at Dean and raised an eyebrow.

"At least he answered, Dean."

The expression that overcame Dean's face could have been hurt shock except Jo noticed the small gleam in his eyes and the curl at the corner of his lips.

They both knew what she was talking about; the ignored calls and dismissed messages. A year after that night Jo had started to call Dean, leaving messages, asking to join up with him and Sam to hunt. She'd even called Sam but he too ignored her calls.

Dean, of course, knew why her calls went unanswered; that promise he'd made to Ellen to keep Jo out of harm. Now he couldn't care less but then… Then he had resolutely ignored her, convinced Sam to do the same in order to keep her safe.

Jo walked over to Dean and she raised an eyebrow expectantly for his reply.

"Isn't it just so sad when your boyfriend doesn't answer your calls?" Dean sighed morosely, looking up at Jo with sad puppy-dog eyes. Then he smirked, "But you wouldn't know what that feels like would you, Joanna?"

With a sniff, Jo made to go back to the table but a plank that wasn't quite in line with the floor caught her boot. She stumbled and the flat of her boot scraped the ground. Jo stopped herself from falling by grabbing Dean's chair. His expression was neutral and she breathed in quickly, adrenaline now rushing through her body. Dean was smirking slightly.

Jo narrowed her brown eyes and with that childish urge, poked her tongue. Dean chuckled quietly.

"You would know though, hey Dean?" She quipped back and that chuckle cut off, replaced by a glare and silence. Pursing his lips, Dean looked away and whispered a quiet, "No." Jo laughed and, dusting herself off, she went to sit on the table, swinging her legs.

"I've heard a lot about this Castiel guy. Who is he?" Jo tilted her head then smiled and said, "More importantly, what is he too you?" Her voice held that teasing lilt and she grinned, watching Dean shift to look back at her. He tilted his own head, eyebrow raised cockily.

"Why? Jealous School Girl?"

Joanna narrowed her eyes once again, that smile still playing with the corner of her lips. "Should I be?"

And then Dean raised both eyebrows before dropping them, and then raised them again in quick succession. They fell back down and it was that signature move of a certain Arc Angel that had Jo laughing quietly. Jo looked over at Dean, her hair like a river down one shoulder, brown eyes gleaming merrily. She smiled and then faltered, this wasn't Dean.

It was a demon yet there she was laughing and joking with it. Resolutely, Jo looked away and became silent.

"What did I do?" Dean asked but when he received naught but silence, he muttered quietly and stared at the floor. His arms were moving slightly behind his back but Jo didn't notice as Dean frowned, looking back to her.

"So tell me," He began, a lilt of confusion in his voice, "What was that spell Sam did?" He looked at Jo expectantly but when she simply knitted her eyebrows in bewilderment he elaborated, "That one that stops me from doing this."

And with his hands glowing red hot, he burnt through the sigil-etched chains that apparently had no effect on him. He shook them off and stood up, cracking his knuckles and rolling his neck, shaking out his stiff muscles and limbs.

Jo leapt up from her seat, her eyes darting to the Devil's trap and in that moment she saw the small scuff mark where her boot had scraped away part of the paint. Wiping an invisible fleck of dust from his shoulder, Dean stepped out of the Devil's trap.

He looked at Joanna Beth with black eyes and smirked.

"Nowhere to run, School Girl."

Don't you just love his nickname for Jo? School Girl- constantly reminding Jo that she's just a little girl in a world full of monsters.. Wow, that's deep... Anyway, hope you liked the cliff hanger and the next chapter (Already written) is... A bit violent... O.O Anywho, Adios! (That does mean goodbye, right? Right?). Also, no I do not ship Destiel. That was just a little joke.. I could go on ranting for ages about why Destiel fans proof that Dean and Cass love each other is full of faults.. Honestly... Urgh. Anyway..
