A/N: Hey everyone! So I've realized that I have been gone a while but I've been thinking things over on what I want to do with my writing. I came up with a solution to ask my readers what they think simply because you guys are the ones who read the words I put down. So please put in a review or a personal message what you would like to see or if you like my stories at all. It would help me out as I continue to figure out the rest of this story. Thank you and enjoy!
After the gang had coffee, they decided to go their separate ways, each wanting to do something different. Rachel really wanted to take Quinn around Central park, Kurt wanted to go to his office at , and Santana was interested in heading back to the loft, finally leaving Will without anything to do.
"You can come with us, Will," Rachel commented as they walked out of NYADA.
"No, it's okay. You guys can do your girl talk," Will said with a grin. He didn't want to interrupt their long-awaited conversation about pregnancy and hormones and quite frankly, he didn't want to hear anything about the horror stories anyway.
"Mr. Schue, why don't you come to with me?" Kurt asked. Will gave him a raised eyebrow for using his formal title.
"Kurt, I told you, it's okay to call me Will," he said with a smile.
"I know. I guess I just forgot or that it still sounds weird to me when I say it," Kurt replied, a light blush appearing on his neck as Rachel gave him a smirk. "But anyways, what do you say? I can show you around the office?" Kurt asked.
"I think you should go, Will," Rachel encouraged, seeing Will's hesitation. She thought Will could do some bonding with Kurt as he was the only male around that Will could talk to if he ever wanted guy time.
"I, uh, yeah that sound good," Will finally said in agreement. He wasn't that much into fashion but he needed something to do and figured it could be good bonding for him and Kurt, considering he was Rachel's best friend.
"Great," Kurt said in excitement as the group made their way down the steps of NYADA.
"See you guys back at the loft," Kurt said to Rachel, Quinn and Santana, who all began to walk in the opposite direction of him and Will.
"Bye, have fun," Rachel replied, giving Will an encouraging nod that fashion could be exciting if he just tried.
"You too," Will replied back with a tilt of the head.
After saying goodbye, Rachel led the way to Central park which was only about a ten minute walk from NYADA. Once they got there, Rachel found a bench to talk before they would be begin their walk again.
"So, are you enjoying your visit?" Rachel asked as Quinn took a seat next to her.
"I am, it's good to see everyone," Quinn said with a smile. She forgot how much she missed her glee club family and it was great to see so many of them at one time. "It's a good thing that Yale isn't too far away," she added with a smile.
"Yeah that's always a bonus," Rachel smiled in agreement as they were only a short train ride away. Each had their own train passes as well so they could use them whenever they wanted for a year before renewal.
"So, how are you?" Quinn asked as the two had become relatively quiet. She knew Rachel wanted to talk about the pregnancy but for some reason was shy to bring it up. They had already talked briefly about it when they went to Callbacks the night before but she knew Rachel wanted to talk more personally about it.
"I'm fine, I mean not much of a change has taken place yet so I don't really notice," Rachel explained quietly.
"Yeah the first few months are still so new but that will change once you hit the second trimester," Quinn explained. Rachel nodded in understanding.
"Like I said last night, I'm just having some morning sickness here and there but nothing too bad," Rachel added.
"You're lucky. I remember I was up almost every morning throwing up, sometimes even at school. That was always the worst, having to run out of glee practice when no one knew I was pregnant yet," Quinn explained, eyes flashing back to three years ago.
"You're so strong, Quinn," Rachel complimented. After everything Quinn had been through in high school, she was now at Yale studying drama and photography. Rachel knew she missed Beth but she also knew that Quinn would have never been able to support her with Puck. They were too young and inexperienced.
"Thank you, Rachel. You are too," Quinn replied back. Rachel had come a long way since her diva attitude in high school. She was more mature, more confident in herself that Quinn hadn't noticed before.
"I mean taking on a baby with a man who was once our teacher takes some strength on its own," Quinn added with a smile, causing Rachel to give one as well.
"I know. It wasn't supposed to happen this way though, you know?" Rachel stated, while Quinn nodded in understanding.
"I was going to wait after I had a successful career, come back home and marry Finn; start a family with him, but now, everything is so different. Finn probably won't ever talk to me again," Rachel said as she furrowed her brows in disappointment. Although she and Finn were over, she still cared for him as a friend and for him to be mad at her broke her heart.
"Rachel, Finn will come around. He's just being a drama queen. He can be as big of one as you sometimes," Quinn said with a playful nudge to Rachel's shoulder, making her laugh.
"I know but you didn't see his face when I told him about Will and I," Rachel explained, in a more serious tone.
"I didn't but I can imagine how it was," Quinn replied. She had seen Finn Hudson angry many times before and knew his facial expressions well.
"And you may have lost Finn temporarily, but you gained Will. I know you love him, Rachel," Quinn stated boldly.
"I know I do. It's just weird and I mean that in the best way possible," Rachel explained as she saw Quinn's face turn to confusion.
"Did I ever tell you about my crush on him back in high school?" Rachel suddenly asked as she glanced over to Quinn who held an intrigued look.
"No, I mean, I remember you acting crazy but I thought that was just normal behavior for you," Quinn said with a laugh, causing Rachel to smile as well. "What happened though?" Quinn asked.
"Well when we had that ballad assignment and I got paired up with him, that was the first time I actually saw Will as a friend instead of a teacher," Rachel explained as she thought back to her duet with him, Endless Love, flowing through her mind.
"I took things a little overboard and showed up at his apartment to cook for him. Terry also made me clean the bathroom," Rachel continued to explain, embarrassment showing on her face.
"You didn't," Quinn replied with a laugh and shocked face, surprised at how far Rachel had gone to gain his affection.
"I did and that was the last limit for him. He sat me down the next day and told me that nothing in romantic nature could ever happen between us and that we would only be teacher and student," Rachel said, finishing her story.
"I guess that's changed now and I think that's what made this transition for him so hard," Rachel explained.
"How so?" Quinn asked.
"Well he told me we'd never be together and now I'm having his child three years later. Things totally turned around and I think that's what made him so shocked and confused when I told him the news," Rachel explained.
"How bad was his reaction?" Quinn asked.
"He was just so confused and shocked when I told him that he almost turned into a different person for a while," Rachel explained as she had explained the details of Will's emotions.
"Different how?" Quinn asked. She couldn't see Mr. Schue as being anything but the nice and supportive guy that he was.
"He was depressed; heartbroken even because he had to end things with Ms. Pillsbury. They were going to get married after all," Rachel replied. "I ruined their relationship," Rachel added ashamed.
"No, Rachel you didn't. You both did. He had the power to stop what you guys were doing but he didn't," Quinn explained. Rachel took in her words and knew that she was right. It took two people to make a baby.
"I know you're right but it's just so weird to get over that," Rachel commented. She knew that little bit of information would be in the back of her mind for a long time. It would always be there when she would think about doubts and what could have been.
"This is what you need to do," Quinn said seeing Rachel drift off into deep thought.
"Okay," Rachel replied cautiously
"Enjoy your date with him and remember why you two are going on it," Quinn said sincerely. "He wouldn't have asked to take you on a date if he didn't want things to be more official between you two," she added.
"I know he does want things to be official and I do too but, what if we don't work out as a couple?" Rachel asked as she expressed her concern. "We've never been around each other all the time. In high school we only saw each other when we had glee club."
"Then you still raise a baby together because that's how you two are, both over achievers," Quinn said with a smile. Rachel stared back at her in silence, unsure what to say.
"Just have faith, Rachel. God helped me through my pregnancy and he can help you through yours," Quinn said as she explained that she still prayed often and believed in the power of faith.
"Okay, I'll try," Rachel nodded in agreement.
"Good," Quinn replied, happy to have helped her friend.
"So, who was better, Finn or Will?" Quinn suddenly asked, changing the mood and making it not as serious.
"Quinn, you're just as bad as Santana," Rachel commented with a laugh.
"It's just a question," Quinn replied back. "Come on, between us."
"Okay, fine. Will, most definitely, Will," Rachel answered with a blush on her neck, Quinn unable to hide her smirk.
"That's what I would have thought," Quinn replied.
"Really? Why?" Rachel asked curious to know Quinn's answer.
"Finn just seems that he would lack confidence but Mr. Schue, I mean, Will, seems like he would be so sexy and in tune with a woman's needs," Quinn explained, causing Rachel to smirk.
"Yeah, he was very good at that," Rachel agreed, making Quinn raise an eyebrow at her reply. "Okay too much information. I do not really want to hear about how he took care of your needs," she replied.
"You asked," Rachel replied back with a grin. "Any other questions you're dying to know?" Rachel asked as Quinn shook her head no.
"Okay, then. Do you want to go get an ice cream?" Rachel asked as she spotted a cart moving towards them.
"Sure," Quinn replied as they both got up, making their way towards the concession cart before caring on with their walk around the park.
Meanwhile, Kurt and Will just arrived at the headquarters and Will looked at the building, impressed. It was a lot bigger than he thought it would be and the inside was well decorated.
"So this is my office," Kurt said leading Will around a narrow hallway and past a conference room.
"It's not much, but just enough to get the job done and big enough that I can make it my own," Kurt replied with a smile.
"It's great, Kurt," Will replied, with a smile. "You've come so far since high school," he added as he patted Kurt's shoulder, proud of his achievements.
"I know. I never thought I would have had this when the whole Karofsky thing went down but, things changed once I met Blaine and somehow, I knew that things would get better," Kurt explained. "Two years later and here I am," Kurt said as he raised his hands up to point at his desk.
"Have you talked to Blaine lately?" Will asked as he knew they were still at odds with each other since Blaine had cheated.
"Not very often, but at least we are on speaking terms again," Kurt replied, a hint of sorrow filling his eyes.
"Good, that's a start at least," Will agreed.
"I just don't know if I can trust him again, you know?" Kurt replied quietly, while Will shook his head in understanding.
"I get it. I mean Emma didn't take me back," Will replied, realizing he revealed too much information as Kurt eyed him uncomfortably. "Sorry," Will apologized.
"You're fine, it's just weird to picture you cheating on anyone let alone with Rachel," Kurt commented.
"Well it certainly wasn't my intention but I think I always knew that Rachel was different from everybody else and out of all the glee kids, I felt like I had the strongest connection with her. I don't know why that is and it certainly doesn't make it right for what we did, but looking back, I did favor her a lot and gave her more solos than she probably deserved," Will explained.
"That's because you love her," Kurt said, stating the obvious. Will raised an eyebrow up just as he did to him a couple of seconds ago.
"Come again?" he said with a chuckle.
"Rachel, you love her," Kurt said bluntly for the second time.
"How do you know?" Will asked as he furrowed his eyebrows in concern.
"I can see it in your eyes," Kurt explained. Will held a certain spark when he talked about Rachel even if he didn't realize it and it had always been there all throughout high school. Now it was just more obvious because they were interacting as a couple instead of teacher student.
"I think we're a long ways from love, Kurt," Will said with a slight frown. He knew their relationship needed a lot of work and was far from love. They were just now getting comfortable with kissing each other without it feeling awkward.
"Well, maybe you are but that doesn't mean it won't happen," he replied with a smile.
"Speaking of which, have you planned anything for your date with her?" Kurt asked, while Will shook his head no, embarrassed. He had no idea what to plan but knew that it had to be something special.
"Okay, well it looks like we have some work to do," Kurt said with a smile as he sat down at his desk and pulled up Google. Will eyed him curiously but let Kurt do his magic. If there was anything Kurt was good at, it was planning things.
"How about taking her on a romantic dinner?" Kurt asked as he scrolled through some of the best rated dining establishments in the city.
"There a bit pricey," Will commented as he looked over his shoulder to study the web page. A majority of the restaurants started at sixty dollars a plate and with Will knowing they needed to save money to make a living, high food prices weren't an option.
"Okay, then a picnic in the park?" Kurt suggested. It was cheaper to where Will could bring their own food and still make it romantic.
"I don't know. It sounds kind of cheesy," Will replied, still not enthused by the idea.
"Well what about renting one of the row boats and having a dinner on the river? It'll be dark so the river will be glowing from the reflection of the stars and you'll be alone because, well, you're on a boat," Kurt said with a laugh.
"You know, that's actually not a bad idea," Will replied shaking his head in agreement. Instead of a moonlight stroll through the park, it would be a moonlight boat ride. It was simple, yet still romantic.
"Great, you can rent a boat for a couple of hours, maybe bring some flowers and a light meal," Kurt said with enthusiasm.
"Yeah, this is perfect," Will beamed.
"What about Sunday night?" Kurt asked, while Will thought for a moment. Quinn would be leaving that day and Rachel would not have to tend to her. Rachel also had a late class on Monday so if they were to be out longer than expected it would not intervene with her class.
"Yeah that should be fine. Quinn leaves tomorrow so that would just leave you and Santana at the loft," Will replied with a smile" Rachel also has a late class on Monday so we can stay out longer if needed," he added.
"Great," Kurt said happily.
"Now what are you going to wear?" Kurt asked.
"Wear?" Will questioned, confused.
"Yes, wear. Mr. Schue, you can't wear the same vests all the time," Kurt said.
"Will, Kurt," Will reminded again.
"Sorry. Will, you can't wear the same vests all the time," Kurt said as he corrected his mistake.
"Why not?" Will asked. He though his vests were very fashionable as well as comfortable.
"They remind me too much of you being a teacher which is not what we want for Rachel," Kurt explained. Will nodded his head in understanding, seeing his point.
"Okay, then what do you suggest?" Will asked.
"A white button up shirt, either dark blue or black pants, and maybe a tie?" Kurt offered. He knew Will would not like what he originally was going to say so he made his choice something that would reflect his simplistic style.
"I can do that. I was expecting you to say something that had a bit more pizazz," Will said with a laugh while Kurt hid his smirk.
"Well, I want you to be comfortable and for Rachel to not be embarrassed," Kurt explained with a wink.
"Thank you for taking that into consideration," Will chuckled.
"So anything else you want to go over?" Kurt asked as he closed his laptop lid down.
"No, I think I can take care of the rest," Will said with a smile. "Thank you though," he added with a nod.
"My pleasure," Kurt said as he stood up. "If that's all then, we should probably head back to the loft, make sure that Santana isn't throwing a rave in their or something," he added with a grin while Will nodded back in agreement.
"How is living with Santana?" Will asked as he followed Kurt back out through the Vogue building and to the busy street.
"Just picture how she was in glee club but in a new location," Kurt said with annoyance.
"Still the same then?" Will asked.
"Yep, and it doesn't look like she's changed at all. She still says the most colorful of things," Kurt explained.
"I figured she would," Will said as he knew Santana's personality. He had dealt with her comments and attitude for three years.
"I personally hope she finds her own apartment. The loft was just for Rachel and I," Kurt said but then stopped at what he realized he just confessed.
"Not that having you in the loft is bad, because it isn't," Kurt rambled on. "It's okay, Kurt. I get that I wasn't part of the plan," Will said, making sure Kurt knew that he didn't hurt his feelings.
"You've been a better roommate than Santana so far," Kurt commented to help make up for his mistake.
"Thanks, I guess," Will replied with a grin.
"Just let me know when you and Rachel do decide to get more serious with each other so I can leave the loft for a while," Kurt commented.
"Will do," Will said with a laugh.
"I do not need to be hearing that," Kurt added under his breath as the two continued to walk down the streets and back to the loft, happily chatting amongst themselves.
